VERA NELL BUSH

Vera Nell Bush, age 90, of Donalsonville passed away Thursday evening, Aug. 5, 2004 at the Donalsonville Hospital.
A prayer service was held on Monday evening, Aug. 9, 2004 at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with the Father Joel Bladt officiating.
Ms. Bush was born on May 23, 1914 in Seminole County to the late Burlow and Nellie Mulkey bush. She was a flight nurse during World War II and retired from the United States Air Force as a Major after serving for 20 years. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Incarnation in Donalsonville.
Ms. Bush leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

FAYE W. CLOUD BRACKIN

Mrs. Faye W. Cloud Brackin, age 73, of Donalsonville passed away Sunday morning, August 8, 2004 in the Miller County Nursing Home in Colquitt.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brackin were held on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with the Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment followed in Friendship Memorial Gardens also in Donalsonville.
Mrs. Brackin was born on March 9, 1931 in Seminole County, to the late Lindsey and Virginia Baldwin Cloud. She retired from Donny Mills, Inc. after working there for 27 years. She was a member of the Oakview Church of God in Donalsonville.
Mrs. Brackin leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Ed Brackin of Donalsonville; three daughters, Virginia Myers of Donalsonville, Edwina Smith of Brinson and Linda Pickren and her husband John of Colquitt; two sons, Hiram Childee and his wife Patty of Leesburg and Bennie Childree and his wife Linda of Burnswick; one brother, Howard Murkerson of Monticello, FL and one sister, Willie Bellflower of Bainbridge. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons, Ronnie Colgan and William Orton.
Pallbearers were Robbie Doster, Jonny Doster, Richard Doster, Mike Colgan, Curtis Childree, Ray Brackin, and Tim Brackin. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

ROBERT TODD WORSLEY

Robert Todd Worsley, 36, of Colquitt passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at Miller County Hospital. The funeral was held Friday, August 20, 2004, at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Johns and Rev. Wallace Russell officiating. Russ Tabb, Tim Worsley, Jimmy Ray Donley, Timmy Donley, Chris Donley, and Scott Worsley serveed as pallbearers. The interment followed at Donley Cemetery.
Mr. Worsley was born October 7, 1967 in Dougherty County. He was a building contractor and a member of Colquitt First Baptist Church. His survivors include his wife, Marsha Yates Worsley; one daughter, Alea Worsley of Donalsonville; mother, Merle Donley Mayo of Gulf Shores,Al; three sisters, Sherri Worsley Byrd of Gulf Shores, Al, Terri Worsley Johnson of Colquitt, and Christy Worsley Whitaker of Blakely; a number of nieces and nephews; one half-sister, Robyn Worsley of Colquitt; two step-brothers, Mitchell E. Faircloth of Bainbridge and Angelo Shaun Franklin of Colquitt; and one step-sister, Mandy Franklin Pace of Colquitt.
Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

ESTHER W. BODIFORD

Esther W. Bodiford, age 70, of Bainbridge passed away Thursday, August 19, 2004 at her residence.
Funeral services was held Saturday, August 21, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Dawson and Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville.
Mrs. Bodiford was born in Miller County on September 20, 1933 to the late John and Bessie Faircloth Worthington. She was a homemaker, attended the Attapulgus Church of God and previously the Donalsonville Church of God in Donalsonville.
She leaves to cherish her memory on son, Johnny Ladd of Orlando, FL; one daughter and her husband, Dianne and Wayne Haire of Bainbridge.; one brother and his wife, J.B. and Mary Alice Worthington of Tampa, FL; two sister, Thelma Smith of Bainbridge and mary Ellen Lisenby of Donalsonville. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Dexter Odom of Sylvester, and Nikki Haire of Cleveland, TN.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herman Bodiford, a son Dean Bodiford and a grandson Danny Odom.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Smith, Milton Smith, Danny Revells, Johnny Lisenby, Tommy Haire and Scott Haire. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

LUCILE JONES MCMULLEN

Lucile Jones McMullen, 89, of the Lake Seminole area, formerly of Jakin, died Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at the Donalsonville Hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 20, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Jakin with Dr. Johnny Roberts and Rev. Preston Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. McMullen was born in Early County on November 18, 1914 to the late Jim and Mattie Hayes Jones. She had resided in the Lake Seminole area for the past two and one half years.She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Brown McMullen, who died in 1975. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include three daughters and son-in-laws, Margie and Bill Murray of Jakin, Delma and Marshall Williams of Donalsonville, Mary and Sammy Gray of Donalsonville; one daughter-in-law, Nelda McMullen of Cumming; five grandchildren, Linda Sue McMullen Hooks, Roy Murray, Carla Murray Widner, Tammy Williams Smith, Marsha Williams; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

MARTHA B. ROGERS

Martha B. Rogers, 86, of Bainbridge, died Thursday, September 16, 2004, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Oak City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Rusty Rogers, Greg Hart, Michael Bryant, Michael Haire, Paul Temples, and Wade Haire.

Mrs. Rogers was born July 1, 1918 in Alabama and has lived here for 56 years. She was a homemaker that loved to can, cook, and quilt. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her three sons, Roy Rogers of Donalsonville, Harvey Dixon Rogers of Bainbridge, Rex Rogers of Griffin; two daughters, Juanita Ingram of Griffin and Thelma Haire of Leesburg; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Docia Brogden Brooks and her husband, Thelton D. Rogers.

Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

DEWEY MAXIMO "MAX" LANGSTON

Dewey Maximo “Max” Langston, 88, of Bainbridge, died Thursday, September 16, 2004, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 19, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Bainbridge with Rev. Stephen L. Webb, Rev. Tommy Fussell, and Rev. Donna Sue Roberts. Interment followed in Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge.

Mr. Langston was born April 11, 1916 in Smith Creek, FL, the son of James E. and Gertrude Langston. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, FL. He was President and CEO of Pepsi Bottling Co. of Bainbridge, Inc. until his retirement in 1999. He was the founder and former CEO of Pepi Foods and served on the Board of Directors of Southeast Canners, Inc. He was past president of the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, was Man of the Year in 1968, a member of the Georgia Soft Drink Association, and formerly served on the Board of Directors of the YMCA and the Memorial Hospital Foundation. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth McDonald Langston, and a son, Robert Dewey Langston.

Survivors include his wife, Sophia Langston of Bainbridge; two daughters, Nancy L. Gray and Maria Hodges, both of Bainbridge; a brother, Jimmy Langston of Smith Creek, FL; four sisters, Marguerite Ward of Pascagoula, MS, Janie Harrell, Thelma Grimes, June Langston, all of Smith Creek, FL; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

SUSIE CLARK

Susie Clark, 48, of Bainbridge, died Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Grubbs officiating.

Mrs. Clark was born April 21, 1956 in Idaho and has lived here four and a half years. She was a Travel Agency Clerk.

Survivors include her mother, Mary Anne Robbins of Santa Barbara, CA; husband, James (Jim) Clark; three daughters, Katherine Carreno of Santa Maria, CA, Shannon Roath and Michelle Roath, both of Murray, ID; one brother, Kevin Robbins of Bakersfield, CA; two sisters, Shelly Larson of Nipone, CA, and Sherry Robers of Las Vegas, NV; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, the late George Robbins.

Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

PERRY F. RICHARDSON

Mr. Perry F. Richardson, 56, of Sylvester died Monday, September 13, 2004 at his residence.

Mr. Richardson was a native of Miller County and had resided in Sylvester for the past three years moving from Baconton. He was a retired master mechanic and was of non-denominational faith.

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 16 at Mathews Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Bobby Moye officiating. Interment followed in the Leesburg Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Glenda and Virgil Croker, Baconton; sister, Leona Porter, Sylvester; two brothers, Herbert Richardson, Americus, David Richardson, Colquitt; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mathews Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

JAMES FLOYD ALLEN

James Floyd Allen, age 71 of Colquitt died Monday, September 13, 2004 at his residence.

Mr. Allen was born March 28, 1933 in Early County. He was a farmer and was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services were here Wednesay, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tim Mock officiating. Interment followed in Colquitt City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jerry Pickle, Bill Martin, Jody Martin, Mark Allen, Ronald Brownlee, and Roger Gordon.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine “Jo” Allen, Colquitt; five sons, Tommy Allen, Ricky and daughter-in-law Sherry Allen, Tim and daughter-in-law Sandra Allen, Danny and daughter-in-law Sheila Allen and Russ Allen, all of Colquitt; three sisters, Lollie Westrbook, Loretta Phillips and Joan King, all of Colquitt; one brother, Sam Allen, Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

LOUISE HOLLEY LEE

Mrs. Louise Holley Lee, age 82 of Patmos died Monday, September 20, 2004, at her residence.

Mrs. Lee was born August 14, 1922 in Early County. She was a homemaker and a member of Milford Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Milford Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Mulker and the Rev. Michael Fox officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were J.I. Brown, Kevin Hatchder, Russ Harris, Dan Collins, Horace (Buck) Holley, Mike Sirmons, Carol Roberts, and Stephen Hart.

Survivors include her husband, Grady Lee, Patmos; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Homer Bloodworth, Leary, Peggy and Owen Rogers, Brunswick, Marilyn Lee, Leary; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Susan Lee, Alan and Marcia Lee, Leary, Mitch and Jan Lee, Watkinsville; one sister, Beatrice Granger, Blakely; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Manry-Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

BESSIE HAZEL SWEARINGAIN

Mrs. Bessie Hazel Swearingain, age 86 of Colquitt died Sunday, September 19, 2004, at Miller County Hospital.

Mrs. Swearingain was born April 18, 1918 in Miller County. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Scarborough and the Rev. Kent Barwick officiating.
Interment followed in Primitive Union Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Talmadge Henry, Anthony Williams, Nathan Wiggins, Russell Whitaker, Robert Tully and Henry Peterson.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary A. Whitaker and son-in-law, Arnold, Colquitt; one brother, T.J. Gay, Colquitt; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fed Swearingain.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
