Keith Roth, 45, of Donalsonville, formerly of Wisconsin, died Friday, September 17, 2004, at the Donalsonville Hospital.
Graveside services were held Sunday, September 18, 2004, at 3:00 p.m., at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating with military honors.
Mr. Roth was born on July 15, 1959 in Eau Claire, WI to Lamont and Marian Roth and was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Smith Roth of Donalsonville; his parents; one son, Dennis and Tia Whisenant of Valdosta; two daughters, Anna Whisenant and Amber Pickett of Donalsonville; two brothers, Mike Roth and Gary Roth of Eagle River, WI; two sisters, Karen and Kim Bonander of Sioux Falls, SD; one grandchild, Riley Whisnant; and several nieces and nephews. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
DOROTHY JEAN HARRELL BAXTER
Dorothy Jean Harrell Baxter, 58, of Malone, FL, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 1, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with Rev. James Webb and Rev. Calvin Brelove officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Malone, FL.
Mrs. Baxter taught 4th grade at Jackson County Christian School her first two years of teaching. She later taught 4th grade at Miller County High School. She taught 4th grade for two years at Seminole Elementary School and then spent the remainder of her career teaching second grade at Seminole Elementary School until her retirement in 2000. She was a graduate of the Jackson County Adult Education Division. She received the following college degrees; A.A. from Chipola Junior College, B.S. in Elementary Education from Florida State University, M.S. and Ed. S. in Elementary Education from Troy State University.
Survivors include her husband, Clifton Baxter; two sons, Jeff and Jacob “Cobb” Baxter of Malone, FL; her mother, Doris McCall Harrell of Donalsonville; mother-in-law, Frances Ham Baxter of Malone, FL; six aunts; one uncle; two friends; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Oliver Earnest Harrell; father-in-law, Cleo Baxter; maternal grandparents, Rev. James Asberry McCall and Loyl Luvice Meadows McCall; paternal grandparents, Martin and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Hatcher Harrell; and one uncle, Marvin Franklin Harrell. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
ROGER DALE HERRING
Roger Dale Herring, 55, of Bainbridge, died Sunday, September 26, 2004, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL.
Funeral services were held at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Bell officiating.
Interment followed in Springfield Cemetery in Jakin.
Pallbearers were Eric Mott, Deric Mott, Ed Mott, Allen Powell, Daryl Powell, and Carlos Hernandez.
Mr. Herring was born in Phenix City, AL, on December 31, 1948 to the late James Will “J.W.” Herring and Wilda Mercer Herring. He served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include a special friend, Sara Mott; one son, Todd Will Herring of Sneads, FL; one daughter, Tanya and Ronald Green of Bainbridge; two brothers, James Herring of Grandridge, FL and Walter Ruedon and Retah Herring of Iron City; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. CAROLYN LEAH HEARN JOHNSON
Carolyn Leah Hearn Johnson, 73, of Blakely, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004, at the Health South Rehabilitation Center in Dothan, AL.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 1, 2004 at 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Blakely with Rev. Joe Jordan and Dr. Charles DeVane officiating.
Interment will follow in Blakely Cemetery.
Mrs. Jordan was born July 3, 1931 in Twiggs County to the late Everett Ewell Hearn and Emmie Vilia Carroll Hearn. She was a secretary for Southern Insurance Company in Blakely and a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Fran Rayfield.
Survivors include eight grandchildren, Anna Mee of Tulsa, OK, Adam Jordan of Augusta, MT, Emily Jordan of Great Falls, MT, Julie Jordan of Ft. Benton, MT, Brooke Byce of Watkinsville, Jordan Byce of Watkinsville, Raley and Molly White of Bogart; one great-grandchild, Gracie Mee of Tulsa, OK.

JOE D. WIDNER
Joe D. Widner, 58, of Madison, AL, died Monday, September 27, 2004.
Funeral services were held Thursday, September 30, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville, AL with Rev. Ray Worley officiating. Interment was held at Huntsville Memory Gardens in Huntsville, AL.
Mr. Widner was born August 26, 1946 in Miller County, the son of Richard Widner and Lucy Kate Widner. He served in the U.S. Marines and was the manager of Bush Tire Company. He had lived near Huntsville, AL since 1972.
Survivors include his wife, Denis Nalley of Bainbridge; one son, Jeremiah Taylor of New Market, AL; four brothers, Harry Widner, Lynn Widner, and Jimmy Widner, all of Colquitt, Kenneth Widner of Climax; four sisters, Elise Gordon, Jewanne Johnson, and Clara Hart, all of Colquitt, and Mary Alice Gruber of Blakely; and three grandchildren.

JAMES SPOONER
Mr. James Spooner Jr., age 73, of Bainbridge died Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.
Mr. Spooner was born November 23, 1930 in Decatur County. He was the son of James Spooner and Sadie Mitchell Spooner. He graduated from Attapulgus High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a yard superintendent for International Paper Company, Southwest Forest Industries, and Stone Container Corporation. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Phillips and the Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating.Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph Spooner, Larry Spooner, Bainbridge; two brothers, Thoms Spooner, Jesse Spooner, Bainbridge; two sisters, Pauline S. Smith, Bainbridge, Mary S. Phillips, Hoschton; and eight grandchildren.

MARY THELMA COLLINS
Mary Thelma Collins, 91, of Bainbridge, died Saturday, October 2, 2004 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 4, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel in Bainbridge with Rev. David Grubbs and Mr. Lewis Jones officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Bainbridge.
Mrs. Collins was born on March 7, 1913 in Tremble, TN. She retired from Jack Winters dress factory and had worked in Collins Upholstery. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the VFW Auxillary and the Jolly Sixties. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Collins, and one son, Jerry Collins.
Survivors include one son, John Collins of Eastpoint, FL; one daughter, Marianne Moore of Colquitt; four grandsons, Andy Moore of Colquitt, Johnny Collins of Eastpoint, FL, Jeff Collins of Valdosta, and Anthony Moore of Asukie, Japan; two granddaughters, Christina Collins of Eastpoint, FL, and Alexis Moore of Colquitt.

EDWARD "RED" LOMINECK
Red Lomineck, 82, of Hawkinsville, died Thursday, October 7, 2004, in Dublin.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Luther Hastey officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery, with military honors.
Visitation will be held from 7–9 Thursday night, October 7, at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
Mr. Lomineck was born in Seminole County on April 14, 1922 and was the son of the late Plez Lomineck and Loudie Love Lomineck and husband of the late Thelma Beatrice Glass Lomineck. He was a veteran of the US Army and a retired mill worker.
Survivors include his daughter, Evelyn McCuller of Hawkinsville; one granddaughter, Iris Holder; and two great-grandsons, Wesley and Jacob Holder. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
GLENN W. BROWN JR.
Glenn W. Brown Jr., 45, of Donalsonville, died Sunday, October 10, 2004, at the Donalsonville Hospital.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 14, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with the Rev. Ken Baggett and the Rev. Kirk Loyless officiating. Interment was held at 3:00 p.m. at the Cairo Cemetery in Cairo.
Pallbearers were Chris Rabon, Curtis Rabon, Jerome Tomberlin, Jeff Tomberlin, Thomas Kelley, Latharo Phillips, Doug Elkins, and Melvin Bowers.
Mr. Brown was born in Memphis, TN on September 25, 1959, to Dr. Glenn Wallace Brown Sr. and Martha Ann Williams Brown. He attended the Decatur County School System. Mr. Brown was a supervisor at BP–Amoco in Bainbridge and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bainbridge.
Survivors include his wife, Verna Brown of Donalsonville; his father, Dr. Glenn Brown Sr. and wife Dottie of Bainbridge; his mother Martha Brown of Donalsonville; one son, Roger Ashby of Donalsonville; three daughters, Alicia Brown Robinson and husband Leslie of Bainbridge, Amanda Ashby and Diana Ashby, both of Donalsonville; two sisters, Claudia Brown of Bainbridge, Cathy Bridges and husband John Bridges Jr. of Brinson; two grandchildren, Delanie McMillan and Timothy McMillan Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Chris Howell, in 2003. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
JOHN W. PRICKETT
John W. Prickett, 70, of Donalsonville, died Sunday, October 17, 2004.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 21, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church in Donalsonville with Rev. Jeff Buchanan officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bradley Prickett, Brandon Prickett, Eric Prickett, April Prickett, Horace Sanders, Jaye Tillman, and Steve Dukes.
Mr. Prickett was born in Adel on January 1, 1934 to the late Aaron John and Motel Ruth Moore Prickett. Moving from Thomasville in 1978, he was a member of the Methodist Church in Berrien County and Woodman of the World. Mr. Prickett was a veteran of the US Army, where he served in the European Theater. He was self-employed as a retail merchant in several areas of Georgia, the last being the owner and operator of J.W.’s in the Lake Seminole area.
Survivors include his wife, Bente “Bennie” Prickett of Donalsonville; three sons, Henrik Prickett of Ray City, John David Prickett and Steve Prickett and his wife Debbie, both of Donalsonville; two daughters, Louise Temples and her husband Bruce of Donalsonville, and Marie Seago of Lake Park; six grandchildren, April Prickett, Christian Prickett, Bente Makyla Prickett, Eric Prickett, Brandon Brandley, and Stephanie Prickett; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild, Austin Whitmire. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
