Mr. Lawton ‘Hank’ Hinely, 93, of Millen dies Nov. 28
Mr. Lawton O. (Hank) Hinely, 93, of Millen, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.
Funeral Services will be today 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 at the Millen Baptist Church with the Rev. Horace Larisey and the Rev. Jerry Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the Millen Cemetery.
He was born in Chatham County, and was a retired carpenter and a member of the Millen Baptist Church.
Mr. Hinely was preceded in death by his grandson, Charles (Chuck) Hinely; his sister, Edith Pate; and his brother, Harris Hinely, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Roberts Hinely; three sons and daughters-in-law, Aubrey L. (Patricia) Hinely of Columbus, Ohio, Charles O. (Wanda) Hinely of Monroe and Donald L. (Naomi) Hinely of Spring City, Tenn.; a daughter and son-inlaw, Alice H. (Frank) Getzinger of Waynesboro; and 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Sean Hinely, John Hinely, Mark Hinely, Chris Dalzell, Alex Grovenstein and Billy Kite.
Mrs. Betty R. Clark, 70, of Millen dies on Nov. 25
Mrs. Betty Jo Reynolds Clark, 70, of Millen died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005.
Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at the Elam Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Brown officiating.
Mrs. Clark was born in Jenkins County. She was a homemaker and a member of Elam Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin H. Clark; a son, Jerry F. Clark; a sister. Doris Wallace; a brother, Herbert Reynolds, all of Millen; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Beatrice Bostic, 83, of Millen dies at hospital
Mrs. Beatrice Bostic, 83, of Millen, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 at Jenkins County Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held noon Thursday, Dec. 1, at Carswell Grove Baptist Church in Perkins, with the Rev. John H. Bush officiating.
Survivors include five sons, Abraham Bostic Jr., Waynesboro, Willie L., Earnest, Robert and John E. Bostic, all of Millen; five daughters, Barbara L. Robinson, Brooklyn, N.Y., Rosa M. Hill, Waynesboro, Lelia B. Harris and Emma R. Mack, both of Millen, and Mamie L. Holmes, of Savannah; and one step-daughter, Mrs. Janie B. Williams of Savannah.
Mrs. Geneva Braswell, 64, of Twin City dies Nov. 23
Mrs. Geneva Braswell, 64, of Twin City died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005 at the Candler County Hospital.
Her funeral was held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Beasley officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Born in Millen, Mrs. Braswell lived most of her life in Twin City. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church in Twin City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Vity Burke and a brother, Joseph Burke.
Survivors include her husband, David Braswell of Twin City; three sons and daughters-in-law, Troy and Frances Braswell of Metter, Allen and Sherry Braswell of Twin City and Timothy and Hope Braswell, also of Metter; a daughter and son-in-law, April and Jason McBride of Swainsboro; a brother, Jerry Burke of Canoochee; four sisters, Pearl Williams of Waynesboro, Ethel Volf of Sylvania, Mazie Marsh of Millen and Linda Zubvictic of Houston Texas; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Opal Gay Brown, 91, of Millen, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005.
Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Millen Cemetery.
She was born in Jenkins County. She was a retired teacher from the Jenkins County school system and a member of the Millen Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Brown.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Reid Elam of Millen, and several nieces and nephews.
Betty ‘Aggy’ Wakefield, 49, of Millen dies Dec. 21
Betty Agnes “Aggy” Sikes Wakefield, 49, of Millen died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 from injuries received in an auto accident.
Her funeral was held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at the Green Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Jon Sullivan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
She was born in Richmond County. She was an escort driver for Eagle Mobile Transport and a member of the Green Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Richard Brown; her parents, Earl F. and Betty Sikes of Millen; two sisters, Erika Van Buren of Millen and Patricia Bame of Perkins; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Allen Van Buren, Freddie Brinson, Ernest Dickey, Mike Bame, Kinny Bame, Charles Bragg, Clyde (Eddie) Grooms and Billy Grooms.
Mrs. Sally Joyner Bolton, 77, of Millen dies Dec. 22
Mrs. Sally Pearl Joyner Bolton, 77, of Millen died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005.
Her funeral was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Deep Creek Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Butch Taylor and Bill Barksdale officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Bolton was a native of Jenkins County. She was a retired merchant and a member of the Deep Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bolton was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bolton; a son, Ricky Bolton; a grandson, Greg Bolton; her parents; and a brother.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl B. (Ashley) Brannen of Millen; three sons, Clifford (Annemarie) Duggan, Eddie (Pat Turner) Bolton and Michael Bolton, all of Millen; five grandchildren, Lee (Sue) Duggan, Billie D. (Michael) Kitchens, K.C. Paige, Kim B. (Rodney) Garvin and Hunter M. Bolton; three great-grandchildren, Lauren and Hayden Garvin and Zachary Duggan; and several nieces and nephews.
