Devon Keenan Wynn, infant, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002. His funeral was 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, at Phinazee and Son Funeral Home in Waynesboro, with the Rev. Eddie Walker officiating. Burial was in Pines Cemetery. Survivors include his mother, Traneash L. Wynn; his father, Demetric D. McKeller; three brothers, Deandre Baker, Terrace Spencer and Deshaun McKeller; his grandparents, Donald Wynn, James McKeller, Cecelia Della and Mattie McKeller; and his great-grandmother, Georgia Washington.
Margaret Goodwin-Hinzey
Margaret Goodwin-Hinzey died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002. Her funeral was 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Waynesboro Deliverance Evangelistic Church, with the Rev. D.L. Hickman officiating. Burial was in Pines Cemetery. Mrs. Goodwin-Hinzey moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and became a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in 1974, where she served as choir member, usher board member, Sunday School teacher, director of the youth usher board, youth counseling and activities. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Goodwin Sr.; her brother, Robert Goodwin Jr. and her sister, Richardean Goodwin Jones. Survivors include her widower, Marshall Hinzey of Ft. Lauderdale; two sons, Haveard Cobb Jr. and Melvin B. Jones, both of Ft. Lauderdale; two daughters, Teresa L. Cobb and Marjorie Cobb-Abel, both of Ft. Lauderdale; six sisters, Annie Pearl Jones, Irene Bridges, Mary Ann Howard, Ruby Griffin, Lula Hankerson and Queen Goodwin; four brothers, Leonard Goodwin, Henry Goodwin, Johnnie Goodwin and Louis Goodwin; her mother, Annie Willie Goodwin of Waynesboro; a goddaughter, Mamie LaVerne Thomas of Ft. Lauderdale; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Neely Bennett Jr.
Neely Bennett Jr. died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002 at his residence. A wake service was conducted at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8, at Phinazee and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at Bark Camp Baptist Church in Midville, with the Rev. Willie J. Jackson Jr. officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Bennett, a native of Burke County, had lived in Ft. Lauderdale since 1966. He was a lifelong member of Bark Camp Baptist Church in Ft. Lauderdale but was affiliated with Noah Baptist Church in Ft. Lauderdale. He was a self-employed building contractor. Survivors include his widow, Geneva "Betty" Bennett; two sons, Cornelius Bennett and Courtney Bennett, both of Ft. Lauderdale; two daughters, Cathy Smith of Augusta and Michelle Bennett of Ft. Lauderdale; seven sisters, Aretha Cross and Shirlene Ball, both of Augusta; Vivian Drisden of Midville, Arletha Bennett and Mae I. Birt, both of Waynesboro, Dorothy Walker of Miami and Alene Patricia Walker of Newport News, Va.; two brothers, Leroy Bennett of Ft. Lauderdale and Hyland Bennett of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and his mother-in-law, Rosa Hill of Waynesboro.
Henry C. Hopkins Jr.
Henry Cormac Hopkins Jr., 77, of Waynesboro died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 at University Hospital, Augusta. His funeral was 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at First United Methodist Church, with Dr. David Carter and the Rev. Henry Erwin officiating. Burial was at Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. Hopkins, a lifelong resident of Waynesboro, was a retired farmer and cattleman. He attended Clemson College and the University of Georgia where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the 15th Airforce in Italy. He was a charter member of the Waynesboro Development Corporation, served as chairman of the Waynesboro Planning and Zoning Board for 25 years, and was a member of the board of directors of The First National Bank of Waynesboro, a member of the Waynesboro Rotary Club and a Paul Harris fellow. He was a torchbearer for the 1996 Olympic torch relay in Burke County and was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he had served in the past as chairman of the Board of Stewards, lay leader, treasurer and teacher of the Coleman Bible Class where he had been a former president of the class. Survivors include his widow, Virginia Cunningham Hopkins of Waynesboro; two sons, Henry Cormac Hopkins III and his wife, Lenn, of Waynesboro and William Cunningham Hopkins and his wife, Elizabeth, of Thomson; a sister, Mrs. David Fleming of Atlanta; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Enon Hopkins of Augusta; and five grandsons, Walker, Henry, William, Knox and James. Mary R. Alexander
Mary Rowland Alexander, 88, of Louisville died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002 at the Gibson Health & Rehab Center. Her funeral was 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Bethel Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Roy E. Beckham officiating. Burial was in Rose Dhu Cemetery. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Bethel Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Vidette. Survivors include a son, Dr. Jim Alexander of Waynesboro; two daughters, Rosalyn Martin and Ann Bryant, both of Lousiville; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Morgan S. Hobbs Morgan S. Hobbs, 77, of Hephzibah died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 at his residence. His funeral was 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Poteet Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Joey Grizzle officiating. Burial was at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Hobbs, a native of Augusta, had resided in Burke County for the past 32 years. Survivors include his widow, Minnie Lee Hobbs; five daughters, Yvone Overton, Susie Oglesby, Vickie Goodwin, Kathy Gill and Sharlene Jenkins; a brother, Lynn Hobbs; a sister, Gladys McCool; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Donald F.Cope
Donald F. Cope, 52, of Brunswick died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002 in a Brunswick hospital. A private memorial service will be held. Mr. Cope, a lifelong resident of Brunswick, was a heavy equipment operator and was self-employed. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the Vietnam era. Survivors include two sons, Donnie Cope and Christopher Cope, both of Sardis; two brothers, Harold Cope and Larry Cope, both of Brunswick; his parents, Felton and Helen Cope of Brunswick; and a grandson. Her funeral was 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Sardis United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Karen Zeigler officiating. Burial was in St. Mark Cemetery, Sardis. Mrs. Martinez was a native of Black Joe, Ky., and the daughter of the late Charles W. Robey and Florence Gross Robey, former residents of Sardis. She was a graduate of Warren A. Candler School of Nursing and had served with the American Red Cross Blood Bank and the Medical College of Georgia. She retired as a registered nurse from Georgia Regional Hospital and was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church of Augusta. Survivors include a sister, Joyce R. Georges of Savannah; a brother, Charles Robey Jr. of Atlanta; a niece, Melissa Georges of New York, N.Y.; and two nephews, Terrence Georges and Duanne Georges, both of Atlanta. .
Fannie Jenkins
Fannie Elizabeth Brinson Jenkins, 87, of Sardis died Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at Burke Medical Center in Waynesboro. Her funeral was 3 p.m., Friday, May 24, at DeLoach Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, with Dr. Bill King and the Rev. Roy Cates officiating. Burial was in the Jenkins Family Cemetery in Sardis.
Mrs. Jenkins, a native and lifelong resident of Burke County, retired from Sardis Manufacturing Company after more than 20 years of service. She was a homemaker and a member of Sardis Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Thomas Jenkins Sr.; a grandson, Kenneth Jenkins; a granddaughter, Dawn Hamilton Tobias; and a great-grandson, Noah Jenkins. Survivors include three sons, Harry T. Jenkins Jr. and his wife, Faye, of Commerce, and Jimmy W. Jenkins and Bobby C. Jenkins Sr. and his wife, Barbara, all of Sardis; two daughters, Carolyn Hamilton and her husband, Lewis, and Patsy Kulju and her husband, Tony, all of Sardis; and 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Tim Jenkins, Tommy Jenkins, James Jenkins, Doug Jenkins, Billy Hamilton, Shane Davis and Bobby Jenkins Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were David W. Simpson, Mann Tobias, Henry Thompson, Stan Hillis, Al Sanders, Bill Chance and Tracy Sparks.

Roger E. Dotson
Roger E. Dotson, 56, of Waynesboro died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. His funeral was 3 p.m., Sunday, May 26, at Rosemont Heights Baptist Church in Waynesboro, with the Rev. Wes Lawson officiating. Burial was in Burke Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro. Mr. Dotson, a native of Virginia, had made Burke County his home for the past 20 years. He was a founding partner and co-owner of First Edition Custom Printing in Waynesboro and an ordained Baptist minister. He was a newspaper reporter for The True Citizen in Waynesboro from 1985-1992, where he covered city and county government and sports. He also wrote a column on fishing. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1972. He was a member of Washington Lodge No. 7 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and was a member of Rosemont Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Peggy Perdue Dotson of Waynesboro; two daughters, Debbie Herndon of Springfield, Mo., and Andrea Quick of Waynesboro; a brother, Wayne Dotson of Ohio; a sister, Linda Perdue of Massillon, Ohio; his parents, Howard and Marie Dotson of Massillon; and five grandchildren, Shaun Herndon, Dillon Quick, Bethaney Herndon, Shelby Herndon and Thomas Herndon.
Pallbearers were members of Washington Lodge No. 7 of the Independent
Order of Odd Fellows.
Barbara Osborn Mosley
Barbara A. Osborne Mosley, 31, of Waynesboro died Thursday, May 23, 2002 at her residence. Her funeral was 2 p.m. Monday, May 27, at Smith Chapel AME Zion Church in Girard, with the Rev. Kenneth Griffin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Mosley, a native of Richmond County, was a cosmetologist and a 1990 graduate of Burke County High School. She was a member of Smith Chapel AME Zion Church.
Survivors include her widower, Leonard Mosley; a son, Leonard Lendarius Mosley; two daughters, Ke' Ondra Mosley and Ke Shonna Mosley; two brothers, Bennie Osborne Jr. of Waynesboro and Bob Osborne of Girard; a sister, Lucille M. Osborne of Waynesboro; her father, Bennie L. Osborne; and grandparents, Lucille Osborne of Waynesboro and Mildred Brigham of Girard.

Eddie "Red" Berrian of Waynesboro died Saturday, May 18, 2002 at Burke Medical Center. Her funeral was 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002 at Fellowship Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Bush officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Berrian was a native of Munnerlyn and a member of Bynes Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Horrace Berrian of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Johnny Strong of Waynesboro; four daughters, Arnita Thomas, Juanita Harris and Sidney Mae Dove, all of Waynesboro and Betty Miller of Ft. Lauderdale; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Pallbearers were her grandsons.

Constance Kight
Constance Burgess Kight, 62, of Augusta died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002 at University Hospital Her funeral is 11 a.m. today(Wednesday, Aug. 7), at DeLoach Funeral Home Chapel in Hephzibah. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta.
Mrs. Kight, a native and lifelong resident of Richmond County, retired from the Richmond County Board of Education Food Service Division after 20 years of service. She was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert B. Burgess and Charles W. Burgess. Survivors include her widower, Jimmy O. Kight of Augusta; a son, Mark and Cindy Kight of Augusta; a sister, Betty B. Horton of Conyers; a grandson, Marcus Trey Kight of Ft. Lee, Va.

Jerry Clark
Jerry Richard Clark, 58, of Waynesboro died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. His funeral was 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 27, at Midville Baptist Church in Midville, with the Rev. Lester Clark officiating. Burial was in Midville City Cemetery. Mr. Clark, a native and lifelong resident of Burke County, was an employee of Kwikset and a member of Midville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Clark and Ruth Clark; and two brothers Henry Clark and Billy Clark.
Survivors include his widow, Karen Mead Clark of Way-nesboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Clark-Brake and Jim Brake of Sparta; a brother, Jimmy Clark of Swainsboro; a sister, Helen Kennedy of Swainsboro; and a half-brother, Lamar Clark of Michigan.
