Eunavie Clack
Eunavie Clack, 74, of 136 Clack Circle in Eatonton, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2003 at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.
A funeral service was conducted at First Baptist Church of Eatonton on Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. It was officiated by the Rev. Bill Kitchen. Interment was at Eatonton Memorial Park in Eatonton.
She was preceded in death by parents, Ida McDonald and Joseph Clinton Tate; and husband, Larry Ray Clack.
The Schley County native was born on Jan. 3, 1929. She was a homemaker, former teacher, secretary and bookkeeper for the Putnam County Board of Education, and graduate of Georgia Southwestern University. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Eatonton and a former member of the Happy Squares Dancing Club of Athens.
Survivors include daughter, Gail Goodman of Macon; son-in-law Emmett Goodman Jr. of Macon; sister, Dorothy Harrell of Albany; brother, Thomas Sidney Tate of Macon; and grandchildren, April Goodman, Emmett Goodman III and Stacey Goodman Pascarella.
Vining Ivy Hill Chapel of Eatonton was in charge.
Hubert Kenneth Gammon
Hubert Kenneth Gammon, 92, of Craig Nursing Home at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003 at the nursing home.
There was a graveside funeral service at Greenwood Cemetery on Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. It was officiated by Dr. Harry Michael. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta.
The Fulton County native was born Dec. 25, 1910. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was retired from Lockheed. He was a member of Manley Memorial Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, May Dickerson and Millard Gammon; and wife, Amelia Pulliam.
Survivors include cousins Thomas H. Lindsey Jr. of Conyers and Mildred Morris of Cumming.
Memorials may be made to Manley Memorial Baptist Church.

Wiley Russell “Russ” Feist
Wiley Russell “Russ” Feist, 77, of 126 Windsor Drive in Eatonton, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at his residence.
A funeral service was conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27 at First United Methodist Church of Eatonton with Dr. Steve Winter officiating. The Mercer University Jazz Band played “Amazing Grace” as the casket was placed into the hearse. In the New Orleans funeral tradition, the band played “When the Saints Go Marching In”and “Down by the River” at graveside. Interment was in Eatonton Memorial Park.
The Runnels County, Texas native was born Sept. 26, 1926. His parents were Fred C. Feist and Antoinette Dixon Feist.
He served in the U.S. Army’s 25th Infantry Division during World War II and was a retired geophysicist with Mobil Oil Company and Exxon and had worked in Venezuela, Norway, Indonesia and the United Arab Emigrates. He had a bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Texas.
He was a member of the Eatonton Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Feist of Eatonton; daughter, Melissa Marshall of Eatonton; sons, John Russell Feist of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mark Walton Feist of Austin, Texas; brothers, Kenneth D. Feist of Rowena, Texas and Dr. Frederic W. Feist of Gasden, Ala.; and grandchildren, Lauren Marshall, Blake Marshall, Anson Feist and Alden Feist.
Pallbearers included Curt Fuller, Jim Neill, Ben Heick, Adam Heick, Blake Marshall,John Sammons and Jim Park. Honorary pallbearers included Curtis Fuller Sr., Ken Ramage, Russ Cartmill, Dan Sichveland, members of the Eatonton Kiwanis Club and the Robinson Dance Sunday School Class.
Memorials should go to First United Methodist Church of Eatonton’s building fund.

Charles Ray Goostree
Charles Ray Goostree, 82, 100 Cherokee Drive, Eatonton died Monday, March 29, 2004 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
The Centralia, Illinois native was born Aug. 31, 1921 to Leonard Goostree and Magmie Marie Brown Goostree.
He was a Gunner’s Mate First Class, USNR with the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. He was also a truck driver.
Survivors include a daughter, Pat Beegen of Eatonton; sons, Michael Goostree and Roger Goostree, both of California; a sister, Evelyn Nixon of Texas and a brother, Richard Goostree.
Services will be private. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel is in charge.
David Lewis Hansen
David Lewis Hansen, 38, of Cape Coral, Fla. died Saturday, March 13, 2004 from injuries received in a car and bicycle accident in Cape Coral.
He was born May 11, 1965 in Minneapolis, Minn., a son of Ruth Blackwell and the late William Earl Hansen. David was raised and educated in Minneapolis and had resided there until three years ago when he moved to Cape Coral. He was employed by Builders Realty in Cape Coral. He was a member of the Florida State Realtors Association.
He leaves behind his many friends and family members. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Blackwell of Cape Coral; a step-brother, Zachary Hansen of Walker, Minn.; aunts, Carol Blackwell- Slack of Long Beach, Calif. and Mary Jo Balas of Eatonton; uncle, J.S. Blackwell of Eatonton; cousins, Frank Clements of Woodstock and Margaret McDougal of Marietta.
A memorial celebration of David’s life was conducted Wednesday, March 17 in the chapel of Coral Ridge Funeral Home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Mothers Against Drunk Drivers or The Eatonton-Putnam Arts Foundation.
H. Reid Hearn, Jr.
H. Reid Hearn, Jr., distinguished architect, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the age of 95 with his family at his side. Born in Eatonton in 1908, he was the son of the late H. Reid Hearn Sr. and Elizabeth Candler Hearn.
After graduating from Clemson University School of Architecture, he served his country during World War II in the United States Army Air Corps. Following active duty, he was appointed chief architect for the South Carolina Federal Housing Administration (the youngest chief architect in the US). In 1948, he established the architectural firm, Reid Hearn & Associates Architects, licensed in both South Carolina and Georgia with offices in Columbia, S.C. and Beaufort, S.C. The firm operated through 1988. With accomplishments spanning so many decades and that were so broad, he would most like to be remembered for his work as president of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
He willed his body to the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. His family will honor his request that neither a funeral nor memorial service be held.
He is survived by his two sisters, Lucy Hearn Wayne and Elizabeth Hearn Bates of Athens; son and daughter-in-law, Allyson K and Reid Hearn; three granddaughters; Candler H. and Geoffrey Samuel Martin Anthony Rhodes, Mary Reid Hearn and Lucy Henning Hearn; and a great- grandson, Geoffrey “Samuel” Martin Anthony Rhodes, all of Columbia, South Carolina. He will truly be missed, for his family revered him as its “heart of hearts.”

Sara Thompson
Sara Thompson, 87, died Monday, March 29, 2004 at her residence.
Services were held Wednesday, March 31 at 2 p.m., at Williams funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Kittle and Tyree Adams officiating. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery in Eatonton.
Mrs. Thompson was a native of Gadsden, Ala. and lived in Milledgeville the past 35 years. She was retired from McGraw Laboratories and from the Foster Grandparents Program. She was the widow of the late Charles “Buck” Thompson and the daughter of the late George Gritman and the late Alice Wright Gritman. She was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Ernestine Rogers of Monticello, Gloria Shinn ofEatonton, Margie Tanner of Macon, Leigh Mitchell of Milledgeville; sons, Charles Thompson Jr. of Loganville and Ferrell Thompson of Milledgeville; 11 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
Williams Funeral Home and Crematory of Milledgeville was in charge.
Ann Williams
Ann M. Williams, age 73, of Eatonton, died Monday, March 29, 2004. A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, April 1 at Wards Rockdale Chapel at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ralph Easterwood officiating.
The Henry County native was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eatonton, the Phoenix Homemakers Club, and numerous flower clubs. She is survived by husband, H.O. Williams of Stockbridge; son and daughter-in-law, Harold Eugene and Dolores Williams of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Shari Lee and Clay Loyd of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Jessica, Teresa, David, Candice, Christy, and Clay Jr.; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Jana Clint of Kerrville, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service today, Thursday, April 1at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Portsbridge hospice, Conyers in-patient Unit, 1374 Manchester Dr., Conyers, Ga. 30012 in memory of Mrs. Ann M. Williams.

Susan Callaway Bidgood
Susan Callaway Bidgood, 83, of Demorest, Ga. formerly of White County, Ga., widow of William T. Bidgood, Sr. died Friday, May 21, 2004, at her daughter’s residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Bidgood was born in Putnam, County, Ga., on July 14 1920 to the late Thomas Wooten and Esther Dearman Callaway. She was retired from the State of Georgia. Mrs. Bidgood was a member of the First Methodist Church in Cleveland, Ga.
Sue, as she was referred to by friends and family is survived by her son, William t. Bidgood, Jr., Palm Harbor, Florida and daughter, Carolyne Davis, Demorest, Ga., brother, James W. Callaway, Jesup, Ga., three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, also survive.
Some of Sue’s fondest memories were of her days in Eatonton and all her family and friends in Putnam County. A time for family and friends to remember and celebrate Sue’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 26 from the First Methodist Church in Eatonton, Ga., with the Rev. Steve Winter officiating.
Whitfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
