Sallie Mae Page, 84, of Trenton died Feb. 5, 2004 in a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Trenton and a retired beautician. She was a member of Senior Ladies Sunday School class and a charter member of Trenton First Baptist Church. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Feb. 8 in Moore Funeral Home Chapel with brother Eddie Cantrell and brother Robert Goff officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Trenton First Baptist Church building fund. Arrangements were by Moore Funeral Home in Trenton.

Jeremy Steve "Smitty" Smith, 26, of Higdon, Ala., died Feb. 3, 2004. Smith was preceded in death by father William Steve Smith, grandfather Walter Higdon, and grandparents William and Ena Smith. Survivors include mother Sheila Smith and grandmother Mary Higdon, both of Higdon, Ala. Billy Harold Brogdon, 50, of Chattanooga died March 21, 2004. Brogdon was preceded in death by grandfather Lester Roberson, father Woody Brogdon, brother Bobby Brogdon, and son Terry Brogdon. Survivors include mother Clara Brogdon; sisters Susie McCord and Roberta Brock; brothers Willie and Clarence Brogdon; wife Jean Fisk; daughter Kelly Brogdon; step-sons Keith and Kris Baggett; granddaughter Caitlyn Brogdon; grandson Brighten Brogdon; several nieces and nephews. Clara Mae Wheeler Campbell, 73, formerly of Trenton died March 22, 2004 at her home in Hixson, Tenn. Campbell was preceded in death by parents William and Clara Wheeler. Survivors include husband Ralph Campbell; daughter and sons-in-law Kay and Troy Holt, Trenton; daughter Gail Hubler, Gulfport, Miss.; son Terry Campbell, West Palm Beach, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Beth Campbell, Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; sisters Billie West, Carol Fossett, both of Trenton; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Eva Pauline "Polly" Carter, 72, of Dutton, Ala., died on March 24, 2004 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born May 31, 1931 in McMinville, Tenn., to the late Claude and Nellie Duncan. She married Leonard Carter Jr., in 1947. Carter was preceded in death by husband Leonard Carter Jr. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Diane and Billy Howse of Pisgah, Ala., Susie and Richard Southerland of Fort Payne, Ala.; son and daughters-in-law Michael and Juda Carter, Gadsden, Ala.; son Glenn Carter, Dutton, Ala.; brothers and sisters-in-law Clyde and Pearl Duncan of Atlanta, Roy and Betty Duncan of Louisville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; special friends, Margaret and Byron Brown, and Sue Bramblett. Ruth Ivy Stevens, 80, of Trenton died March 27, 2004 following an illness. She was of the Baptist faith. Stevens was preceded in death by parents John and Mary Wood, five brothers and four sisters. Survivors include husband Hillard Stevens; daughters Patricia Melton, Trenton, Kim Donahue, Ooltewah, Tenn.; sons Allen and Kenny Stevens, both of Trenton; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Verbie "R.C." Thurmond, 69, of Pisgah, Ala., died March 21, 2004 at his residence. He was a member of Kings Chapel Baptist Church in Pisgah, Ala. Thurmond was preceded in death by parents Riley and Launer Thurmond, wife Linda Thurmond, son Rayburn Thurmond, step-daughter Martha David, brothers Wilbur, Berlon, and Berthel Thurmond, sisters Ester Holcomb and Miley Owens, and grandson Justin Smith. W. Eugene Terrell, 75, of Valley Head, Ala., died May 30, 2004. He was a member of Lee's Chapel Baptist Church in Valley Head, Ala., and a member of the Valley Head Masonic Lodge. He was a Shriner in the Cahaba Shrine Temple in Huntsville, Ala. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired as a welder with 30 years of service at the Chrysler Corp., in Detroit, Mich. Terrell was preceded in death by parents David and Rosie Terrell; brother William Terrell. He was a lifelong resident of Trenton, was retired from Uniform Rental Service, was formerly employed with the Dade County Sheriff's Department and was a member of the Magby Gap Church of Christ. Wheeler was preceded in death by parents Issac and Inez Wheeler; brothers I.O. Wheeler Jr., and Scott Wheeler.
