Mildred Bailey Shipp
SHILOH - Mrs. Mildred Bailey Shipp, 76, of Shiloh, died Tuesday, November 24, 1998 at her home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 25, 1998 at 3:00 PM at Manchester-Warm Springs First Presbyterian Church with entombment in the old Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery Mausoleum. Rev. Larry Owens, her pastor, officiated. He was assisted by Rev. John Boyer, her former pastor. Pallbearers were William H. Bailey, Michael A. Bailey, Martin Dale Bailey, Frank H. Bailey, Jr., Steve Smith, Mike Carter, and Gerard DeSantis.
Mrs. Shipp was born August 11, 1922 in Manchester. She was the daughter of the late Louise Smith Bailey Moore and the late William H. Bailey. Mrs. Shipp was a Retired Registered Nurse and worked and retired a second time from the Roosevelt-Warm Springs Institute of Rehabilitation. She was a member of the Manchester-Warm Springs First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Shipp, Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Marion Scott of Shiloh, Karen Shipp Snyder of Houston, Texas, Susan Shipp of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, James K. Shipp of Ft. Worth, Texas and John W. Shipp, Jr. of Payson, Arizona; three sisters, Connie Rayburn and Margaret Durham, both of Riverdale, Georgia and Annie Kate Grant of Shiloh; two brothers, Frank H. Bailey, Sr. of Locus Grove, Georgia and William H. Bailey, Sr. of Jonesboro, Georgia; and one grandson.
Cox Funeral Home of Manchester was in charge of the arrangements.
Contributions may be made to the Manchester-Warm Springs First Presbyterian Church or the Columbus Hospice.
Eva M. Hudson
HAMILTON - Funeral services for Mrs. Eva M. Hudson of Hamilton, were held Wednesday, November 25, 1998 at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church. Burial was in William Cemetery in Hamilton.
Survivors include her two sons, Henry Mack (Lottie) Hudson of Hamilton and Lee Willie (Victoria) Hudson of Buena Vista, Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Johnnie Mitchell of Glenco, Illinois; and one brother, J.C. (Ruby) Miller of Decatur, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

HAMILTON - Funeral services for Mr. Frank Hudson, Sr. of Hamilton were held Wednesday, November 25, 1998 at the chapel of Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery in Hamilton.
Evelyn Lumpkin
MIDLAND - Mrs. Evelyn Lumpkin, 83, of Midland, died Wednesday, November 25, 1998 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus.
Graveside services were held Sunday, November 29, 1998 at 2:00 PM in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus. Rev. Ralph T. Boling officiated.
Mrs. Lumpkin was born August 3, 1915 in Holmes County, Florida. She was the daughter of Coley and Missouri Jane Curry Wilson. She had lived in the Columbus area for the past 63 years, was a Homemaker and a member of Rose Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Herman Lumpkin, Sr. of Midland; two sons, Herman Lumpkin, Jr. of Midland and Gerald Lumpkin and daughter-in-law, Willow Lumpkin, both of Cataula; one daughter, Nancy Smith and son-in-law, Wesley Coan, both of Hamilton; two sisters, Eunice Smith of Ft. Mitchell, Alabama and Oveal Lyman of Dade City, Florida; three brothers, Bill Wilson of Miami, Florida and Bob Wilson of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Fred Wilson of Panama City, Florida; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Hattie J. Greenlee
CATAULA - Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie J. Greenlee of Cataula, was held Friday, November 27, 1998 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Hamilton. Burial was in Mt. Olive’s Cemetery in Fortson.
Survivors include her husband, Neb Greenlee of Cataula; six sons, Louis Hixson, Johnny Hixson and Leon Hixson (Myrtice), all of Columbus, Homer James Hixson, Jr. (Margaret) and Adrine Bruce (Sandra), all of Cataula, and Grady Hixson, of Atlanta; three daughters, Betty Gosier (Dennis) of Atlanta, Sinus Gloster (William) of Stone Mountain, and Patricia Maddox (Marshall) of Columbus; 27 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren.
Henry Clay Dorrill
PINE MOUNTAIN--Henry Clay Dorrill, 52, of Pine Mountain, died Saturday, November 28, 1998 at his home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 29, 1998 at 3:00 PM at Bethany Baptist Church in Pine Mountain. Rev. Paul Fowler, pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Wheeler, Charles Anderson, John Richardson, Bill Champion, Jessie Dorrill, Joe Dorrill, and Grady Tucker. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Deacons of Bethany Baptist Church and Frank King, Al Boyd and Jack Angley.
Mr. Dorrill was born September 22, 1946 in Pike County, Alabama. He was the son of Nealtha Edwards Dorrill and Calve Dorrill. He was a former manager of C and H Parts Company, Columbus. Mr. Dorrill had lived here for eight years, was a U.S. Navy veteran of Viet Nam, a recipient of the Bronze Star, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the National Defense Service Medal and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Pine Mountain.
Survivors include his mother, Nealtha Thomas of Phenix City, Alabama; his wife, Maria Champion Dorrill of Pine Mountain; one son, Shane and Shelley Dorrill of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two brothers, His Twin, William and Connie Dorrill of LaGrange and Bobby and Margie Dorrill of Phenix City, Alabama; four step-children, Jonathan and Lisa Moore of Columbus, Mary Moore of Cataula, and Danny and Piper Moore of Manchester; six grandchildren, Trey, Jessica and Matthew Moore of Martin, Georgia and Madeliene, Daniel and John Moore of Manchester.

Dorothy Cook McDaniel
WOODLAND--Dorothy Cook McDaniel, 77, of Woodland, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998 at the home of her son in Clanton, Alabama.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 30, 1998 at 11:00 AM at Woodland Methodist Church. Rev. John Mathis officiated. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Rowell, Richard Rowell, Keith Rowell, Robbie Cook, David Locke, and Curtis Upchurch.
Mrs. McDaniel was born August 16, 1921 in Talbot County. She was the daughter of Bessie Blanton Cook and James Clifford Cook. Mrs. McDaniel had lived here all of his life, was a member of Woodland Baptist Church where she served on the Board of Trustees and was a homemaker and the widow of James C. McDaniel, Sr.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy and Sherry McDaniel of Clanton, Alabama; one brother, Robert H. Cook of Greensboro, Georgia; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren
Clarence Henry Mosher, Jr.
PINE MOUNTAIN--Clarence Henry Mosher, Jr., 71, of Pine Mountain, died Monday, November 30, 1998 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 1998 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton. Rev. Wayne Hollaway, pastor of First Baptist Church of Pine Mountain, will officiate. He will be assisted by Rev. Joel Chapman, Bethlehem Baptist Church and Sister Philomena Fogarty of Christ the King Catholic Church in Hamilton. Burial will be at the Pine Mountain Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Julian Sivell, Frank Davenport, Richard Kelly, Ed Yanko, Tom Roberts, Dan Lewis, Charlie Stelzer, and David White.
Mr. Mosher was born March 10, 1927 in Long Island, New York. He was the son of Helena Pollock Mosher and Clarence Henry Mosher, Sr. He was retired from Combustion Engineering, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, had lived here for 32 years, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was Catholic by faith.
Survivors include his mother, Helena P. Mosher of LaGrange; his wife, Mary Mosher of Pine Mountain; two daughters, Glynn Ann and Joel Chapman of Pine Mountain and Carol and Ron Sanders of Pine Mountain; one son, Richard and Susan Mosher of Greensboro, North Carolina; two step-children, Mark Helms of Cedar Rapids, IA and Trina Jacobson of Vail, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Virginia M. Cook
WAVERLY HALL - Virginia M. Cook, 72, of Waverly Hall, died Friday, April 24, 1998 at Oak View Nursing Home in Waverly Hall.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 2, 1998 at 12:00 Noon at Long Street Baptist Church. Burial was in the Saint John Cemetery in Waverly Hall.
Mrs. Cook was born September 20, 1923 in Harris County. She was the daughter of Lucia Mahone and Brinson Mahone, Sr. She was a Homemaker and was a member of Long Street Baptist Church. She was the widow of George Cook.
Survivors include three sons, Bennie (Katie) Cook of Atlanta, Herschel (Linda) Cook and Zade (Belinda) Cook, both of Riverdale; four daughters, Georgia (Floyd) Brown, Shirley (Elvis) Addae, both of Irvington, New Jersey, Lula Huling of Terrytown, Louisiana and Cynthia Snow of Waverly Hall; one brother, John Mahone of Atlanta; two sisters, Mary Mitchell of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Ruby Shepherd of Pine Mountain; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Doris Mae McKnight
PINE MOUNTAIN VALLEY - Doris Mae McKnight, 85, of Pine Mountain Valley, died Saturday, April 25, 1998 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 28, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at Roosevelt Memorial Church in Pine Mountain Valley. Pastor Ken Grubb officiated. Burial was in the Roosevelt Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. McKnight was born May 11, 1911 in Muscogee County. She was the daughter of Jessie Hill Wyatt and Joe Wyatt. She was a homemaker and had lived here for the past 51 years. Mrs. McKnight was also a member of the Roosevelt Memorial Church in Pine Mountain Valley and the widow of Thomas L. McKnight.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Gibson of Pine Mountain Valley; one sister, Adell Brooks of Fortson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
