Mrs. Tom H. Smith
Mrs. Tom Hall Smith, the former Sara Bigham, a retired teacher, 98, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Toomsboro Nursing Center after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memory Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Joe Thomas officiating.
Mrs. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Milledgeville, graduated from Georgia State College for Women and Columbia University, and taught school for 34 years at GSCW, Peabody High School and Baldwin High School, receiving teacher of the year honors during this time. She was a former member of the DAR, Baldwin Retired Educators Association, and First Baptist Church. She was a genealogist by avocation. She was the widow of the late Tom Hall Smith and the daughter of the late Dr. George Edward Bigham and the late Frances Cooper Bigham of Coopers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Lucius Derward Smith. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Milledgeville.
Survivors include a grandson, David Cooper Smith of New York.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Edgar Wallace Miller, 57, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was a resident of Milledgeville for the past 11 years and worked at Central State Hospital. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Combat Veterans Group. He was also a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, John Clint Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Viola H. Miller of Milledgeville; his mother, Avis Mae Layton Plumley of Milledgeville; two daughters, Michelle M. D'Alonzo and husband, Jeff, of Dacula, Angela M. Farino and husband Jacob of Covington; two sons, Gregory Scott Miller of Milledgeville, John Doby and wife, Keli, of North Carolina; two brothers, Terry Miller of Milledgeville and John C. Miller of Florence, Ore.; and 12 grandchildren, Ashton Danielle D' Alonzo, Amanda Pearl D' Alonzo, Casey Alexander D' Alonzo, Abriella Phoel Farino, Lilliquin Aliece Farino, Rhiannon Nicole Miller, Reyann Carolyn Miller, Levi William Miller, Loren Doby, Zachary Doby, Jackie Elder and Mark Daniel Elder.

Elizabeth Cassell
LOS ALAMOS, N.M. - Elizabeth (Libba, Liz, Beth) Hollinshead Cassell died July 21, 2003, in Los Alamos, N.M. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Knoxville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen (Steve) Sidney Cassell; parents, George W. and Clara Richardson Hollinshead; and sisters, Ruth Bargeron and Mae Hammond.
Libba was born on Aug. 16, 1921, and was reared on the Hollinshead farm outside of Milledgeville. She graduated from Georgia State College for Women; served with the American Red Cross and taught school during World War II. She married on July 20, 1946, and lived principally in Knoxville, also in Marion, Vir., Milledgeville, Waynesville, N.C., Abingdon, Vir., and Maryville, Tenn.; moved to Los Alamos, N.M., in Nov. 2001; taught early elementary grades, worked as a substitute teacher, and worked as a "home bound" teacher until her retirement.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Steve, to see their grandchildren and the U.S. and Canada and was a member of Friendship Force, traveling to southern Europe, Germany, New Zealand, South America and Norway. She loved the mountains and woodlands and enjoyed hiking, gardening and collecting and growing wildflowers. Libba was an active tennis player, bridge player, knitter, an avid reader and enjoyed making Christmas decorations, flower arranging, and sewing. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years, a member of Westwood Garden Club, and did volunteer work with Childrens Hospital and Fish. She was a long-time member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Knoxville. She is remembered for her active enthusiasm for these many involvements and for being a gracious Southern hostess.
Mrs. Cassell is survived by her daughters, Claire Harmon of Los Alamos, N.M., Elizabeth Coulter and husband, Mack, of Maryville, Tenn., Stephany Bouchier and husband, Al, of Los Alamos, N.M.; grandchildren, Aaron Harmon of Lindale, Texas, Aurora Bouchier of Durango, Colo., Leza Dege Carver and husbnd, Adam, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Evan Bouchier of Bozeman, Mont., and Dain Coulter of Maryville, Tenn., great-granddaughter, Aubrey Harmon of Lindale, Texas; sisters, Clara Meadows and husband, Burton, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Frances Johnson and husband, Jimmy, of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; brother, George Hollinshead and wife, Margaret, of Milledgeville, 22 nieces and nephews and many loving friends.

EATONTON - Tom L. Clements, 70, of 403 Marion St., died Monday, July 28, 2003 at his residence. Funeral services will at 11 a.m. Saturday at Crossroads Church in Eatonton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy H. Clements; two sons, Tommy Clements and Clayton Harrison; a daughter, Ilene Theresa Johnson; a brother, Arthur Clements; a sister, Carrie Lou Harper; and seven grandchildren.

Elton Webb of 605 Simmons Ave. died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at his residence unexpectedly. Funeral services will at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Mount Mariah AME Church in Swainsboro. Burial will follow in the city cemetery.
Mr. Webb was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. Jones Webb and Lucious Webb. He was a self-employed laborer.

William H. Smith
DEVEREUX - William Hamilton Smith, 71, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steven Wright and Sam Batson officiating. Burial will be in West View Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was a native of Richmond County, but made his home in Devereux for many years. He was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Lila Hamilton Smith. He was a retired aircraft electrician with Robins Air Force Base. He received a certificate in watch repair from North Georgia Trade & Technical School. He was the first full time tax assessor and tax appraiser for Hancock County. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 1051 in Milledgeville and AARP. He was a former deacon and Sunday school director at Darien Baptist Church and a member of Black Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Patricia Foster Smith of Devereux; two sons, Dennis Smith and his wife, Sherri, of Milledgeville and Greg Smith and his wife, Kay, of Deepstep; a daughter, Mona Turner and her husband, Neil, of Ivey; a grandson, William Smith of Milledgeville; two granddaughters, Alesha Calvert and Dana Calvert, both of Macon; a stepgranddaughter, Angela Turner of Macon; and a stepgrandson, Louie Turner and his wife, TuLai of Glenn Allen, Va.

SPARTA - Lucy Marshall Roberson of RR5, Box 586, Linton Road died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, in a Milledgeville hospital. The body will be at St. Mary Baptist Church at noon Saturday, with services at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Roberson; seven daughters, Susie M. Lundy, Willie D. Roberson, Mammie K. Roberson, Jeanette Roberson, Mildred Taylor and Lorene Holsey, all of Sparta, and Mary L. Cox of Hyattsville, Md.; a son, David Roberson of Philadelphia, Pa.; a sister, Elizabeth Roberson of Sparta; three brothers, Brown Marshall, Walter F. Marshall and Eugene Trawick of Sparta; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Willie P. Kinslow
HADDOCK - Willie Pearl Turk Morgan Kinslow died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003.
Mrs. Kinslow will lie in state at noon Saturday at Adams Tabernacle CME Church with services at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Kinslow, the daughter of the late Robert and Fannie Middlebrooks Turk, was born in Haddock. She joined Adams Tabernacle CME Church of Haddock, where for 63 years, she served as an usher. Other memberships include Women's Missionary Society, food committee, Simmons Beauty Chapter No. 187 of Gray and the Home Comfort Society of Haddock. For 40 years, Mrs. Kinslow was employed at Cherokee Products and for 18 years as a housekeeping supervisor for now Oconee Regional Medical Center.
In 1936 she married Evans Morgan Sr. and to this union four children were born, Evans Morgan Jr. and wife and very devoted daughter-in-law, Emma, and Lillie Morgan Harris, all of Haddock, Walter Morgan and wife, Geraldine, of Cornelius, N.C., and Rev. Willie James Morgan Sr. and wife, Rosa Lee, of McGregor, Texas. In 1972 she married James Kinslow who preceded her in his homegoing.
Survivors include her children, adopted daughter, Mildred Bryant; nine grandchildren, Charles E. Harris of Gray, Trudy Carter of Powder Springs, Daryl Morgan of Haddock, Priscilla Mitchell of Milledgeville, Felicia Lane and Michael Morgan, both of Killeen, Texas, Erick W. Coleman of Augusta, Elder Willie James Morgan Jr. of Kyle, Texas, and SaRhonda Redd of Gordon; three stepgrandchildren; an adopted granddaughter, Denise Turner; 16 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Turk Jr. of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters, Mary L. Little of Pittsburg, Pa., and Frances Bowman and husband, Eddie, of Detroit; an adopted sister, Lula Bell Tuft; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Kinslow and Levi Kinslow, both of Milledgeville; three sisters-in-law, Florida Turk of Detroit, Mich., Laura James and Catherine Kinslow, both of Milledgeville; among her many nephews, devoted nephew, Eddie Williams; among her many nieces, three devoted nieces, Dorothy Pope, Lissie Green and Ethel Lewis; among her many cousins, two devoted cousins, Joseph "Babe Joe" Turk and Annie Lora Cleveland, both of Haddock; and a number of other relatives.
