James William Scott, 92, died Sunday, March 28, 2004. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Memory Hill Cemetery.

Ronald Murphy
Ronald Edward Murphy, 62, died Monday, March 29, 2004.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Neely, the Rev. Dan Looper and the Rev. Harold Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Murphy, a native of Smithville, lived in Albany and Cuthbert before moving to Milledgeville in 1990. He retired from the department of public safety in 1996 and worked with the Milledgeville Convention and Visitor's Bureau as a trolley tour driver. He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and an U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife Glenda Murphy of Milledgeville; two stepsons, David Ezell of New York City, N.Y., and Dana Ezell of Herndon, Va.; three stepdaughters, Cindy Brackins of Plantford, Ala., Jeanette Perkins of Sharpsburg and Michelle Hollis of Pinson, Ala.; his mother Ernestine A. Murphey of Albany; and three brothers, Tim Murphy and Harold S. Murphy, both of Leesburg and John Sammy Murphy of Albany.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight.

DUBLIN - Lillian Leola Morgan, 80, died Monday, March 29, 2004.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Nazarene Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh Woodard, Aaron McDaniel, Felton McDaniel, Cecil Chalker, Ricky Graham, Dillon Graham and Eric Mullis.
Mrs. Morgan, a native of Fulton County, lived in Dublin for the past 30 years. She was a self-employed child care provider and member of Church of God of Prophesy. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Gregory Morgan; a grandson, Byron Mimbs; and her parents James and Ellen Red Hagood.
Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Martin of Gardendale, Ala., Dorothea Simmons of Irwinton and Janet Mimbs of Milledgeville; two grandchildren, Becky Mullis of Milledgeville and Brad Mimbs of Atlanta; and a great-grandchild, Jasmine Mullis of Milledgeville.

Timothy Kelsey Sr., of 132 Pearl Drive, died Monday, March 29, 2004, in a Macon hospice facility.

Frank Fetner III
Frank Fetner III, 70, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be private with burial in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Fetner, a native of Raleigh, N.C., made his home in Baldwin County for most of his life. He was an U.S. Coast Guard veteran, a retired electrician from Central State Hospital, owner and operator of Frankie's Place for several years, and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife Lollie Layfield Fetner of Milledgeville; three daughters, Vicky Fetner Camilla and husband Tony of Ivey, Deborah Fetner of Santa Ana, Calif., and Jill Bridges and husband Wes of Gordon; a brother, W.H. Fetner of Santa Ana, Calif.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

MACON - Carolyn Benefield Stripling, 61, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2004, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Stripling was the daughter of the late Robert and Grace Hardy Benefield. She was a native of Treutlen County but lived in Gordon most of her life before moving to Macon several years ago. She was a retired nurses aid and a member of the Gordon First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Joseph G. Stripling of Jeffersonville; a daughter, Tonya L. Stripling of Jeffersonville; two sisters, Elaine McLemore of Warner Robins and Phyllis Etheridge of Gordon; three brothers, Wayne Benefield of Gray, Horace Benefield of Ivey and Delma Benefield of Macon; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hubbard was the son of Guy and Shirley Ledford Hubbard. He was a native of Bibb County but made his home in Gordon for many years. Mr. Hubbard was a carpenter and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Herman Driskell Jr.
MACON - Herman Driskell Jr., 42, of 1581 Third St., died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at an Atlanta hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Macon with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Driskell was born in Baldwin County to the parents of Herman Driskell Sr. and Annie M. Driskell. He was a 1979 graduate of Baldwin High School and a 1985 graduate of Georgia College & State University. His favorite sport was basketball and he played with Georgia College and Armstrong State University.
Mr. Driskell was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church and joined at a very early age. He participated in many youth programs. After marriage, Herman Jr. moved to Macon and became a faithful servant of Beulah Baptist Church. He was employed for 19 years with Bill E. Ireland Youth Development Center in Milledgeville.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Willette Sailor Driskell; two daughters, Marquita Driskell and Joycealyn Driskell; a son, Herman Driskell III; his parents, Herman and Annie M. Driskell; a sister, Venessa Driskell Hale and husband Clifford; two brothers, DWayne Driskell and wife Angela and Darrick Driskell and wife Valerie; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends; a devoted mother-in-law, Joyce E.N. Bailey; the Union Baptist Church family in Milledgeville; and the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church family in Macon.

Dr. Mel Bonner, 68, died Feb. 2, 2004.
Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lancaster Christian Church with burial in Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, Ky.
Dr. Bonner was a native of Milledgeville but made his home in Lancaster, Ky., for many years. He was a minister for the Disciples of Christ Church for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Melton Monroe Bonner, and his mother, Myra Spivey Bonner Elliott, and a brother, Gary Bonner.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Correll Bonner of Lancaster, and a daughter, Myra Bonner of Lake Lure, N.C.

HADDOCK - John Stephens Williams, 88, of Eatonton Highway, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004.

Mr. Williams, a native of Jones County, was the son of the late John Francis and Frances Key Williams. He was a retired loom operator with J.P. Stevens. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He was a member of Hardies Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Pauline Linch Williams of Haddock; children, Charlotte W. Etheridge of Gordon, Elaine W. Hart of Warner Robins, Marjorie W. Evans of Warner Robins and Virgil S. Mrs. Watson was a member of First Church of Open Bible. She was the wife of the late Willie L. Watson and the daughter of the late Thomas Campbell and the late Willie Pearl Adams Campbell May. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeraldine Windham and son, Willie "Bubba" Watson.
