Mrs. Doris Tew Roberts, 75, of Manchester died Feb., 18, 1998, at the Medical Center in Columbus.
Born Aug. 17, 1922 in New Hanover County, N.C., Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of the late Harbey B. Tew and Corabel Peterson Tew. She was the retired owner of Tew's Bar-B-Que and a had been a partner in Denham's Women's Apparel Shop in Manchester.
Mrs. Roberts was a member of Manchester First United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Service Guild.
A service was Saturday at Manchester First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kevin Lobello officiating. Interment followed at Manchester City Mausoleum with Robert Kellum, Jim Hodges, Charlie Rich, M.B. Guy Jr., Harold Thompson and Robert Cook serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the Susanna Wesleyan Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Roberts Jr. of Manchester; sons, Harvey Edward "Bobby" and Carolyn Roberts of Newnan, Michael Alan and Angie Roberts of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Nellie Witt Morrill of New Ipswich, N.H.; and four grandchildren.

Mr. James Arthur Wilson, 87, of Fourth Street in Newnan died Feb. 20, 1998, at Beaulieu Convalescent Center.
Born April 8, 1910 in Coweta County, Mr. Wilson was a retired police officer and a member of the Coweta County Sheriff's Office Ranch Fund. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
A service will be today at 4 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, with the Rev. L.C. Lane officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with Hank Strickland, Greg Arrington, Edward Mitchell, Donald Stewart Jr., Carl Wicker and Pete Wilson serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Glenn Farrell Hammond, 82, of Hogansville, died Feb. 23, 1998 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Mrs. Hammond was born March 4, 1915 in Clay County, Alabama, and had lived in Hogansville for the past fifty years. She was the wife of the late William Alfred (Bill) Hammond.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Jay Knight will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Mrs. Frances C. Hartman, 81, of Hogansville, died Feb. 22, 1998 at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Hospital in Warm Springs.
Mrs. Hartman was born Nov. 21, 1916 in Shawmutt, Alabama, daughter of the late Grady and Lela Craft Conway. She had lived in Hogansville since 1920, was a member of Highland Baptist Church, and was retired from Playtex Corporation. She was a member and former Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Hogansville.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. Jimmy Brown will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Mr. Sidney P. Jones Sr., 81, of West Highway 16, Newnan, died Feb. 23, 1998, at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Jones was born April 26, 1916 in Newnan and worked as a dairy farmer.

Mr. W. C. Plant Jr., 69, of Newnan and a former resident of Hogansville, died Feb. 22, 1998 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.
Mr. Plant was born July 21, 1928, son of the late William Carl Plant and the late Velma Craft Plant. He lived in Hogansville most of his life before making his home in Newnan in 1992, and was a retired painter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard Service and a member of the Hogansville American Legion.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday (today) at graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Survivors include a step-son, Lee Washam of LaGrange; step-daughter, Mrs. Linda Petty of Newnan; sister, Mrs. Doris Harrington of Whitesburg; four step-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dorothy Trimble Ralls
Mrs. Dorothy Trimble Ralls, 91, a former longtime postmaster of Hogansville, died Feb. 22, 1998 at the Florence Hand Home in LaGrange.
Mrs. Ralls was born Jan. 2, 1907 in Hogansville, daughter of the late Daniel and Lilla Cox Latimer. She attended Georgia State College for Women, Emory University and Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, Texas, and taught school for twelve years in San Antonio, Grantville and Hogansville. She served as postmaster of Hogansville for more than thirty years.
A member and trustee of the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville, she was a past member of the Administrative Board, a former president of the United Methodist Women, and taught in the Men's Bible Class for 23 years. She was one of the original trustees of the Hogansville Public Library, having served since 1949, and was a member of the Troup County Historical Society. She was a member and regent of the George M. Troup Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and served twelve years in the West Georgia Medical Center Auxiliary.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. The Rev. Charles Ritter and the Rev. Herbert S. Cox Jr. will officiate.
Survivors include step-son, Mr. and Mrs. John McKenzie Ralls of Atlanta; nieces, Mrs. Martha Latimer Young of Atlanta and Mrs. Christiana Latimer Hemmi of San Antonio; nephew, the Rev. Herbert S. Mrs. Street was born August 25, 1921, in Moreland, Ga., to Johnnie and Ophelia Tinch. She spent most of her life in Newnan and was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Newnan.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Sellers-Smith R.W.S. Memorial Chapel with the Rev. W. J. Johnson officiating. The remains were creamated following the service.

Mr. Coleman was born March 5, 1936, in Heard County, son of the late Charlie and Vesta Harman Coleman. He lived in College Park for a number of years before returning to Hogansville one year ago. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was a member of Local #926 of the International Union of Operating Engineers.

Mrs. Addie Blanche Brown, 85, of Panama City, Florida and formerly of Whitesburg, Georgia, died Feb. 26, 1998.
She was born in Coweta County May 6, 1912, the fourth of eleven children born to Joseph Oliver and Fannie Sue Hubbard. She was a retired textile worker and a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Whitesburg. She had lived in Panama City since 1975.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Waymon Brown, her oldest son, Joseph Donald Brown, and one grandchild, Jordan Christina Brown.

Born Oct. 12, 1919 in Coweta County, Mrs. Sinkfield was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Newnan. She was a graduate of the former Howard Warner High School that was located on Savannah Street in Newnan and attended Clark College in Atlanta.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. J. C. Neal officiating, assisted by the Rev. Thurman Sampson, the Rev. Johnny Coleman and the Rev. Pallbearers will be Alton Taylor, Jimmy Mahone, Hulett Hardaway, Edward Hunter, Eddie Smith, Michael Stanley, Inman Beadles, Edward Reeves, and Charlie Farmer. Honorary pallbearers will be the United Methodist Men of Wesley Chapel Church.
Survivors are her children, the Rev. and Mrs. Thurman (Ethel) Sampson, of Dayton, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Millard (Connie) Partridge and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy (Helen) Martin of Newnan; step-children, Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Marie) Jordan, Decatur and Mr. and Mrs. Olin (Elmira) Connally, of Newnan; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Emma Warner and Ms. Della Martin of Newnan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
