Ms. Blanche Ramsey, 87, of Ragsdale Road in Sharpsburg died Feb. 26, 1998, at Dogwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Oct. 6, 1910 in Chester County, Penn., Ms. Ramsey was a secretary.

A service was Saturday in Pennsylvania.

Survivors include her nephew, Dennis Stroud of Sharpsburg; and nieces, Kathleen Ankney of Nottingham, Penn., Yyonne Johnson of Oxford, Penn., and Elizabeth A. Shuemake of Sharpsburg.

Mrs. Willie Mae Holloway Smith

Mrs. Willie Mae Holloway Smith, 92, of Temple Avenue in Newnan died Feb. 28, 1998.

Born Jan. 28, 1906 in Cobb County, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late John Nelson Holloway and Carrie Norris Holloway and the wife of the late R. Tom Smith. She was preceded in death by step-sons, Delbert Smith, Thomas Smith; grandson, Tommy Smith and great-grandson, Trent Smith.

An assistant postmaster at the Sargent Post Office for 19 years, Mrs. Smith was a member of Sargent Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and received perfect attendance medals 13 years in a row.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Tom Buchanan of Newnan; step-daughter, Mrs. Harry T. (Doris) Embry of Newnan; brother, Hubert Holloway of Dahlonega; daughters-in-law, Mrs. Delbert (Teal) Smith of Cornelia, Mrs. Paul (Dot) Grant of Cartersville; grandchildren, Ted and Shirley Smith of Cornelia, Jerry and Lib Smith of Ermo, S.C., Harold and Laura Smith of Newnan, Suzanne and Tom Mandell, Vonoiel and Michel Baudouin, all of Ft. Worth, Texas, Janie and Russ Parker of Douglasville, Patience Buchanan, Daryll Grubbs, both of Austin, Texas, Leah and Adrian Martinez of Dowington, Penn., Keith and Ida Smith of Cartersville; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A service will be Monday at Tidd-Williams Funeral Home in Albion, Mich.

Mr. Sylvanus Gardner Allen III, 58, of Wagers Mill Road, Newnan, died March 2, 1998 at Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Allen was born April 28, 1939, in Coweta County to Sylvanus Gardner "Bud" Allen Jr. and Vanilu Copeland Allen. He worked as a warehouseman with Playtex Apparel for 36 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Newnan and Sylvan Masonic Lodge #429 F&AM.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel with Dr. Eugene Tyre officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Fleming and Dr. Joel Richardson. Burial will be in the Allen Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eddie Whitlock, Jimmy Whitlock, Ed Hackney, Bobby Beers, Bob Bryant, Johnny Cash, Hamp Burnham and Donald Knott. In a place of special honor at the services will be Jane Bass, Christine Elom, Mattie Ransby and Sherry Wood.

Survivors include daughters, Connie and Kent Osborn, of Newnan, Cissy and David McEachern, of Franklin, Ga., Donna and Dean Hunter, of Sherwood, Ark., Terry and Mark Fredrick, of Luthersville; son, Sylvanus Gardner "Chip" Allen IV and Terry of Newnan; sisters, Elva and Wendell Whitlock, of Newnan, and Elizabeth Allen Beers of Newnan; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Russell Jr. and the Rev. Charlie Frank Teagle. Interment will be in the Clark Chapel-New Mt. Bethel Cemetery in Luthersville. Pallbearers will be Jerry Davis, Jason Scandrick, Greg Anderson, Mike Mack, Marvin Rosser and Jamie McGhee. Honorar pallbearers are Danny Brewster, Mike Ball, Kirby Griffin and Chris Thomas.

The family received friends Sunday afternoon at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, and the funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Tidd-Williams Funeral Home in Albion, Mich. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens in Albion.

Mr. Sovjak is survived by his wife, Claire Sovjak of Newnan; grandchildren, Kris Bahri of Suwanee, Ga., and Jon Courtright and Erin Courtwright of Newnan; four great-grandchildren.

Born Nov. 17, 1917 in Coweta County, Mrs. Williams was owner of Williams' Grocery and a member of Haralson United Methodist Church.

A service will be today at 11 a.m. at Haralson United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carolyn Evans officiating. Interment will follow at the church Cemetery, with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her daughters, Janice W. Camp, Beverly W. Waters, both of Haralson; son, Bruce R. Williams of Haralson; sisters, Betty Busby, Ann Garner, both of Alvaton; brothers, Julian Roberts of Haralson, Louis Roberts of Jonesboro, Phillip Roberts of Atlanta; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A service will be today at 4 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, with the Rev. Searcy Jackson, the Rev. Ken Norton, Roop Caswell and Craig Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the staff of McKoon Funeral Home serving as pallbearers.
