Ms. Varner Andrews, 57, of Lynnhaven Dr., Newnan, died Feb. 27, 1998.

Ms. Andrews was born March 2, 1940 in Meriwether County, Georgia, to the late Charlie H. and Mattie L. Andrews. She joined Mt. Venus Baptist Church at an early age. She was married to Willie Price Jr., who preceded her in death. Later she was married to Eddie R. Beach, who preceded her in death.

Services were March 7 from the Mt. Venus Baptist Church in Gay, Ga. The Rev. Freddie M. Few officiated, assisted by the Rev. Prather, the Rev. E. A. Stephens and others.

Interment was in the church cemetery. Marcus Andrews, Chris Render, Elic Davis, Reginald Andrews, Derrick Slaton, Bernard Riggins served as pall bearers.

Surviving are her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Dorsey (Gladys); step-daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Beach (Elaine); grand-daughter, Miss Tameka Talley; brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Andrews of Gay, Ga., Henry L. Andrews of Florida City, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. Sallie M. Antonio Farmer II, infant son of Antonio Farmer I and Frances Mary Mobley, of Welcome-All Road, College Park, died March 3, 1998.

Funeral services were held March 7 from Sellers-Smith R.W.S. Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John E. Farmer officiating. Interment was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park.

Mr. Thomas J. Flynn, 70, of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, died March 8, 1998.

He is survived by his wife, the former Diana Robertson; children Thomas J. Flynn of Newnan, Debra Rumbos, William and Marcella Nickerson, Carol Dreilinger, Annamae Ryan; brother, John Flynn; sisters, Evelyn Joseph Flynn, Kathryn Danheiser; nine grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury, NJ. The body will lie in state starting at noon Wednesday.

Ms. Annie Doris "Dot" Hall, 39, of College Street, Luthersville, died March 3, 1998.

Ms. Hall was born April 18, 1958 to Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt Hall (Annie) in Meriwether County. She joined Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church at an early age. One brother, Frank Hall Jr. (Julia) preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 7, from the Mt. Venus Baptist Church in Gay, Ga. Dr. R. E. Tottress officiated, assisted by Elder Eddie Stegall. Burial was at Red Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Bobby Hall, Marcus Barner, Grady Hill, Terry Favors, Daryl Frank Hall and Wendell Houston serving as pall bearers.

Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt (Annie) Hall; sisters, Shirley H. McGruder (Raymond) of Pine Mountain, Ga., Mary F. Hall of Luthersville, Lola K. Mrs. Doris Elizabeth "Betty" Hartman, 76, of Hall Circle, Newnan, died March 9, 1998 at her residence.

Mrs. Hartman was born July 5, 1921 in Marlin, Texas. She was a retired nurse, having been employed at Newnan Hospital and the former Coweta General Hospital. She was a nursing graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital in Texas, Class of 1942.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Norton officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road, Newnan.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Ward and Milton Blue of Newnan; son, Bernard Leroy Hartman Jr. of Louisiana; grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin (Debi Guiler) Robinson of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. J. Mrs. Florra Hixson Lynch, 79, of Newnan died March 1, 1998 at Starcrest of Newnan.

Mrs. Lynch was born June 18, 1918, in Coweta County. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, and served as president of the United Methodist Women.

Funeral services were Saturday afternoon at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Newnan with the Rev. J. C. Neal officiating, assisted by other ministers. Interment was in East View Cemetery. Pall bearers were Jessie Callaway, Harvey Orr, John Callaway, Clifford Geter, James Freeman and Willie F. Crain. Honorary pall bearers were the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Men.

Born Oct. 30, 1911 in Canton, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Mahoney spent her life as a homemaker.

Mrs. Mahoney's family will be receiving friends at McKoon Funeral Home Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services and interment will be in Niagra Falls, New York. Burial will be in Niagra Falls Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Florence Clay Teagle, 72, of Newnan died March 5, 1998 at Newnan Hospital.

Mrs. Teagle was born Feb. 28, 1926 in Coweta County. She was a member of Newnan Chapel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were Monday afternoon at Newnan Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hulon Kemp officiating, assisted by other ministers. Interment was in East View Cemetery. Family friends were serving as pall bearers.

Mr. Thomas J. Flynn, 70, of Dingmans Ferry, Penn. died March 8, 1998, at his home.

Born in Norfolk, Va., Mr. Flynn was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War Two. He was retired as foreman of the electricians department of the Philadephia Navy Shipyard after 33 years.

Mr. Flyn was a member of the Army Navy Garrison #52 of National Park, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7125 of Verga and the American Legion Post # 139 of Milford, Penn.

A service will be today at 2 p.m. at McGuinness Funeral Home in Woodbury New Jersey, followed bya private interment.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Flynn; son Thomas J. Mr. Frederick W. "Robbie" Roberts, 65, of Clearwater, Fla. died March 8, 1998, in Clearwater.

Born Nov. 22, 1932 in Lansdale, Penn., Mr. Roberts was a retired ramp serviceman with Eastern Airlines and a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a radio operator in Germany as part of the Russian Border Patrol.

He was a ham radio operator, a member of Masonic Lodge #429, a member of the Eastern Star chapter 532, a member of the On Top of the World Computer Club and a volunteer and Mease Hospital.

A service will be today at 11 a.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Dennis officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan.

Survivors include his wife, Rae M. Mr. John Walter Duke, 75, of Whitesburg died March 14, 1998, at Newnan Hospital.

Born June 25, 1922 in Randolph County, Ala., Mr. Duke was the son of the late John Walter Duke Sr. and Mamie Coleman Duke. He was preceded in death by a son, Capt. Donald E. Duke; brother, Amos Duke; and sister, Lona Wiggins.

Mr. Duke was a retired salesman and a World War Two veteran, receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of Westview Christian Church.

A service will be today at 3 p.m. at Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel in Carrollton, with Tony Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow at the Veal Community Cemetery with his nephews serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Alvin T. "Boots" Lankford, 71, of Hogansville died March 13, 1998, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.

Born May 31, 1926 in Coweta County, Mr. Lankford was the son of the late James Roy Lankford and Mattie Bryant Lankford. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War Two and was retired from Uniroyal Inc.

Mr. Lankford was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.

A service will be today at 2 p.m. at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Pickard officiating. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Barbara "Bobbie" Martin

Mrs. Barbara "Bobbie" Martin, 70, of Senoia, died March 11, 1998 at Newnan Hospital.

Born June 27, 1927 in Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Martin was the daughter of the late William W. "Bill" Mason and Annie Lou Williams. She ws the granddaughter of William Patton "Pat" Clark and Maggie Roberts Clark of Rome, Ga.

Mrs. Martin attended high school in Atlanta and graduated from Young Harris College Academy in Young Harris, Ga. June 1945. In July 1946 she married Billy T. Martin of Jonesboro and had two daughters, and the couple was married 51 years. Mrs. Martin retired from Fulton Federal Savings and Loan in 1977 as manager of their Data Processing Department. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Services were held 10 a.m Friday at Senoia City Cemetery with her brother, Deacon William Donald Mason officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Billy T. Martin of Senoia; daughters, Patricia L. Martin of Senoia, Pamela Alford of Newnan; grandson, Andrew Dale Alford of Newnan; brother, William Donald Mason of Rex, Ga.; two nephews, Christopher Donald Mason of Ellenwood, Ga. and William Scott Mason of Rex.

Mr. James H. Strickland, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died March 13, 1998 at the home of his daughter, Lenora Kerby, in Stillwater, OK.

Mr. Strickland was born in Irwin County, Ga. Oct. 16, 1920. He was a retired carpenter. He was a former resident of Cochran, Ga., before moving back to Fitzgerald in 1992. He was preceded in death by two wives, Pauline Vann Strickland and Mary Bailey Strickland; a son, J. Larry Strickland; and a grandson, James P. Kerby. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Cochran.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Burch-Hudson Funeral Home in Fitzgerald. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ben Hill County. Officiating will be Jim Shadwick and his grandson Joe Hall.

Survivors include sons, Bobbie R. Strickland and Sage A. Strickland, both of Fitzgerald, Ga.; daughters, Lenora S. Kerby of Stillwater, OK, and Doshia E. Mrs. Thornton was born March 5, 1914 in Coosa County, AL to the late Lorenzo Dow Jacobs and Flossie Adamson Jacobs.

Graveside services were Saturday morning with Dr. Albert Pike officiating. Interment was in Hillview Memorial Park, Alexander City, AL.

Miss Manelle Orr

Miss Manelle Orr, 86, of Railroad Street in Moreland died March 17, 1998, at Newnan Hospital.

Born June 23, 1911, Miss Orr was the daughter of the late Dovie Lane Orr and Thomas W. Orr.

A retired registered nurse at Newnan Hospital, she graduated from Moreland High School and St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Athens. She was a member of Moreland United Methodist Church.

A graveside service will be tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Southview Cemetery in Moreland, with the Rev. Patrick Jansen officiating.

Survivors include her brother, Frank Orr of Moreland; nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to Moreland United Methodist Church.

Mr. William "Candy" Waddell

Mr. William "Candy" Waddell, 67, of Newnan died March 18, 1998, at Newnan Hospital.

Born Feb. 9, 1931 in Meriwether County, Mr. Waddell was the son of the late William Joseph Waddell and Mary Jane Allen. He was a retired mechanical supervisor from International Playtex.

A member of Crossroads Baptist Church, Mr. Waddell was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

A service will be today at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home, with Ken Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Meriwether Memorial Gardens in Manchester at 4 p.m., with Ellis Yarbrough, Gene Brown, Riley Moore, John Bragg, Lloyde Hay and Sonny Warren serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Waddell of Newnan; daughters, Tammy Hatcher of Clayton, Calif., Julie Waddell of Atlanta; sisters, Ruby Williamson of Woodbury, Earlene Carroll of Manchester; and grandchildren, Blake Hatcher and Zachary Hatcher.
