Jonathan Paul Fagundes, 28, of 114 Cherub Lane, Sharpsburg, died March 21, 1998, at Fayette Community Hospital.
Mr. Fagundes was born Jan. 11, 1970, in Atlanta, Ga., the son of Jospeh Martin and Betty Ellis Fagundes. Mr. Fagundes attended Flint River Academy in Woodbury and graduated from LaGrange High School in 1988. He was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity and graduated from Auburn University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice. He later interned with the Secret Service and graduated from State Trooper School in 1996. He was most currently a Trooper First Class with the Georgia State Patrol stationed at the Griffin, Ga. post. He and his wife attended the First United Methodist Church of Newnan.
Funeral services will be held in LaGrange at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with burial in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Parrish and the Rev. Jimmy Hood will officiate. Honors will be provided by the Georgia State Patrol. Flowers are appreciated, but those so desiring may contribute to the Jonathan Paul Fagundes Memorial Fund at Commercial Bank and Trust, P.O. He lived at St. Marks most of his life, was an Army Veteran of World War Two, and was a member of Union Baptist Church. He retired as a cost accountant for Uniroyal, Inc. in Hogansville.

Marvin Clarence Ingram, 80, of Franklin, Ga., died March 19, 1998 at Tanner Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
Mr. Ingram was a member of the Masonic Lodge 288 in East Point, Ga. and was a member of the East Point Baptist Church. He taught mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech for several years before joining the staff of American Can Company where he served as a tool and dye-maker until he retired. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Elise Ingram and his parents, William Homes Ingram and Mrs. Sara Ollie Oxford Ingram.

Born Aug. 26, 1929 in Coweta County, Mrs. Echols was a member of China Grove Baptist Church in Turin and was retired from Crain Southern in Newnan. She graduated from Walter B. Hill School and Howard Warner High School.
A service will be today at 1 p.m. at China Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.J. Buchanan officiating, assisted by the Rev. Julius Herron and the Rev. Felton James. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery with family friends serving as pallbearers.

Mr. James Shand Kennedy
Mr. James Shand Kennedy, 60, of White Oak Drive in Newnan died of cancer March 27, 1998, at SouthWest Christian Hospice.
Born in Atlanta, Mr. Kennedy was the son of the late James B. and Margaret Kennedy. His family originally is from Greenfield, Mass. and he lived in Florida, California and Georgia.
Mr. Kennedy graduated from Decatur High School in 1956 and earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Jacksonville University. He served 12 years in the U.S. Naval Reserves and worked 11 years with Ford Motor Co. before going into business for himself.
Mr. Kennedy worked the last 17 years with Ascot Supply Corp., serving as president. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
A memorial service will be April 1 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. A private family memorial will be in Highlands, N.C.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Gail Hall-Kennedy; son, John Scott Kennedy; daughter-in-law, Denise Gordon-Kennedy; grandchildren, Rachel Marie, Dylan Shand Kennedy, all of Newnan; brother, Francis "Buddy" Kennedy of Lynchburg, Va.; and sister, Betti Hankey of Dunwoody.

Ms. Barber was born Oct. 5, 1935 to the late Tommy Lee and Bessie Barber. She joined Dent Chapel A.M.E. Church at an early age and later attended Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Newnan.
