Born Sept. 24, 1921 in Troup County, Mr. Andrews was the son of the late Charlie Pink Andrews and Lula Beard Andrews. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart for service in the tank corps in Europe.
Mr. Andrews was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
A funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Highway Congregational Church in Randolph County, Ala., with the Rev. Vernon Willis, the Rev. Timothy Lamb and the Rev. Leonard Hodge officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Doris Gamble White, 69, of Doraville died March 30, 1998 at DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur.
Mrs. White was born June 16, 1928 in Hogansville, daughter of the late Charlie Wirt Gamble and the late Lillian Green Gamble. She had lived in the Atlanta area since 1947 and was a graduate of the Crawford W. Long School of Nursing. She was a Presbyterian and a retired registered nurse with 35 years of service at Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
A funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Marion Shivers will officiate and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Mr. J. Fred Thompson, 76, of Hogansville died March 30, 1998, at West Georgia medical Center in LaGrange.
Born July 21, 1921 in Heard County, Mr. Thompson was the son of the late Wiley and Lou Genie Williams Thompson, He was a former city councilman and mayor of Riverdale.
A member and elder of Trinity Worship Center in Hogansville, Mr. Thompson served as Sunday School superintendent and deacon of several churches during a 40-year period. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War Two, a retired Delta Airlines mechanic after 28 years and a member of the Hogansville Lions Club.
A funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Trinity Worship Center, with the Rev. Will Fisher, the Rev. James Cannon, the Rev. Carol Renfroe and the Rev. George Lee officiating.
Burial will follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Rev. Marion Shivers, Clem Howell, Gary Washington, Joe Hamby, Benny Thompson and Buddy Thompson serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Hubbard was born in Coweta County, son of the late Clifford Hubbard and the late Maggie Wilson Hubbard. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired funeral director having owned the Hubbard Funeral Home in Barnesville for several years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Barnesville, member of Pinta Lodge 88 Free and Accepted Masons, and member of the Barnesville Chapter 251 Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Hunter was born Aug. 10, 1919 in Meriwether County, daughter of the late Ben T. and Frances Flournoy Crews. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and retired from the Unity Plant of Callaway Mills after 28 years of servce. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald O'Neal, and a great-grandson, Master Levi Morris.

Mrs. Louise Holmes Jarrell, 99, of Greenville, died April 3, 1998 at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Nursing Home in Warm Springs.
Mrs. Jarrell was born Dec. 19, 1898 in Woodbury, daughter of the late James Capers and Fannie Haynie Holmes. She was a member of the Greenville United Methodist Church, and the WMU. She was a graduate of LaGrange College and taught school for a number of years in Woodstock. She also served as a Gray Lady at the Meriwether Memorial Hospital in Warm Springs. The widow of the late Tyre Reeves Jarrell, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Louise J. Kirby.
A funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at graveside in the Greenville Cemetery. Rev. Marion shivers, Padget Nelson and Jim Blair, and Mr. Ted Caldwell will officiate.

Born Oct. 15, 1913 in LaGrange, Mrs. White was the daughter of the late Thomas Abner Glanton and Rozelle Cleaveland Glanton. She received undergraduate degrees from Andrew College in Cuthbert and Battle Creek College in Michigan and a master's degree from the University of San Francisco.
A retired teacher, Mrs. White taught at Andrew College and in the Fulton and DeKalb school systems. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, where she was active in United Methodist Women. She also was a member of LaGrange Newcomers Club, LaGrange Women's Club and Music Section of the Woman's Club.
A graveside service will be today at 3 p.m. at Hillview Annex Cemetery in LaGrange, with the Rev. Darris Baker officiating.
Survivors include her sisters, Rozelle Glanton of Grantville, Sarah Relihan of LaGrange; brother, Thomas A. Glanton of Grantville; nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Maudie H. Young
Mrs. Maudie H. Young, 91, of Hogansville died April 7, 1998, at Florence Hand Home in LaGrange.
Born April 14, 1906 in Hall County, Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late Augustus and Ada Carter Hall. She was a member of the Assembly of God.
A funeral was Wednesday at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Johnny Williamson officiating. Burial followed at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Survivors include her sons, Douglas Howington of Thomaston, Bert Howington of Ashland City, Tenn.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. James Emmett Thompson
Mr. James Emmett Thompson, 52, of Newnan, formerly of Augusta, died April 7, 1998.
Mr. Thompson was director of nursing at Athena Rehab in Clayton.
A memorial service will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Something Special at 83 Greenville St. in Newnan.
Survivors include his mother, Laura Thompson; brothers, Johnny and Gail Thompson of Augusta, Robert and Betty Thompson of Haddock, Van and Sandra Thompson of Tennille, Tye and Sharon Thompson of Norwood, Autry and Tina Thompson of Milledgeville, Phawn and Dee Thompson of Sandersville; nieces; nephews; uncles; aunts and cousins.
