Mr. Jimmy Lee Ivery, 53, of Elaine Drive, Newnan, died April 19, 1998 at his residence.

Born in Jefferson County, Alabama, March 26, 1945, Mr. Ivery was manager of the planning department for Delta Airlines for 30 years. A U.S. Veteran, he served as a sergeant in the Marines.

The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.

A memorial service will follow at McKoon's at 7 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Alan Waldrop officiating.

Survivors include his mother, Lillian Louise Ivery of Birmingham, Ala.; daughter, Jennifer Blackburn of Newnan; son, Vick Ivery; sister Pat Worley of Newnan; two grandchildren.

Mr. Charles Harold Kite Sr.

Mr. Charles Harold Kite Sr., 76, of Collingswood Drive in Dothan, Ala., died April 18, 1998 at Flowers Hospital.

Mr. Kite was born May 14, 1921 in Newnan, where he lived the early years of his life. His parents were the late John and Ida Mallory Kite. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Kite was a retired employee of the State of Alabama, a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge, a past exalted ruler of the Griffin, Georgia, Elks Lodge and a member of the Dothan Elks Lodge. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dothan and the Etheridge-Matthews Sunday Shcool Class. He had lived in Dothan the past 35 years. Preceding him in death were brothers and sisters, John and Raymond Kite, Dorothy Lifsey and Margaret K. Keith, all who were of Newnan.

A funeral will be held noon today at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel in Dothan, with Dr. Bob Baggott officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Lifsey, Jimmy Keith, Victor Pittman, Bill Puckett, Michael Wetzel, Robert VandeLune, J. R. Paul and Dick Burke. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Etheridge-Matthews Sunday School Class and the Dothan Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lavenia Puckett Kite; son and daughter-in-law, Charles H. Kite Jr. and Cindy Kite, of Dothan; daughter and son-in-law, Louise K. Kellough and Rick Kellough of Greenville, S.C.; five grandchildren, Christopher, Michael and Joshua Kellough, Greenville, S.C., Ashley and Brad Kite, Dothan; sister, Myrtice K. Adams of Newnan; sister-in-law, Helen Kite of Pine Mountain, Ga.; brothers-in-law, Bill Lifsey and Harold Keith, both of Newnan; nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lillie Mae Smith, 67, of Hodgesville Road, Dothan, Ala., died April 17, 1998 at her residence of an apparent heart attack.

Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 29, 1930 in Randolph County, Ala. She lifed most of her life in LaGrange, Ga. before moving to Dothan eight months ago. She was the widow of Leonard A. Smith and a member of Harrisonville Baptist Church.

A funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday (EDT) at Harrisonville Baptist Church near LaGrange, Ga. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in state one hour before the service.

Survivors includes sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Sylvia Morgan of Dorthan, Douglas McCurry of LaGrange, Ga.; daughters, Agatha Daniel of Thomaston, Ga., Letha Mae Smith of Cedar Hill, Tenn.; brothers, Emmett Berry of Tampa, Fla, J. C. Berry of Villa Rica, Ga..; sister, Maebelle Andrews of LaGrange; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Edna Griffin Stephens

Mrs. Edna Griffin Stephens, 77, of Newnan, died April 20, 1998 at Newnan Hospital.

Mrs. Stephens was born in Jasper County to the late Edwin Richard Griffin and Ada Lucille Griffin. She attended the Enon Baptist Church in Jasper County. Before retirement she was a cashier for the A&P Grocery Store. She moved to Newnan more than six years ago.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. tonight at Jordan Funeral Home in Monticello, Ga.

A funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery in Jasper County. Dr. Grady Fuller will officiate.

Survivors include her son, Eddie Maloy Yawn of Newnan; grandsons, Eric Yawn and Harold Yawn, both of Newnan; and brothers, James Walter Griffin of College Park and Wayne Griffin of Juliette.

Mr. Alton Lee Bryant, 88, of Newton Road in Newnan died April 20, 1998, at Dogwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Sept. 5, 1909 in Sargent, Mr. Bryant was a retired school bus driver.

A funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sargent Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Addie Irene Bryant of Newnan; daughter, Dean B. Blackmon of Five Points, Ala.; sons, Ned and Linda Bryant of Jesup, W.R. and Sandra Bryant of Whitesburg; brothers, Deb Bryant of Sargent, Olen Bryant of Palmetto; sisters, Ovie Johnson, Maggie McClendon, Lavonia Stephens, all of Sargent; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

A U.S. Veteran, he served as a sergeant in the Marines. Military honors included the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Sharpshooter Award and Pistol Marksman Award. He was a member of McIntosh Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.

A memorial service will follow at McKoon's at 7 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Alan Waldrop, pastor of McIntosh Baptist officiating. Eulogies will be given by fellow Delta employee Linda Nevius and by David Brown.

Survivors include his mother, Lillian Louise Ivery of Birmingham, Ala.; daughter, Jennifer Blackburn of Newnan; son, James Victor Ivery of Newnan; sister Pat Worley of Newnan; two grandchildren.

Mrs. Crane was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church and various civic clubs.

Mr. Willis Garland Cooper

Mr. Willis Garland Cooper, 75, of Sharpsburg died April 22, 1998 at Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan.

Born July 27, 1922 in Butts County, Mr. Cooper was the son of the late B.F. and Maggie Crim Cooper. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War Two.

A graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree on business, Mr. Cooper was a U.S. government auditor for the National Credit Union Association, retiring as a supervisor after 35 years. He was a member of Peachtree City First Baptist Church and was a deacon of Eudora Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenn.

A funeral was Saturday at Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson, with the Rev. Bill France and Margaret Knight officiating. Burial followed at Jenkinsburg Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Cora Ragsdale Cooper of Sharpsburg; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Charles Basden of Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, David G. and Sharon R. Mrs. Dozier was born Aug. 24, 1938 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Dock (Pearlie Mae) Boston. She joined the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church at an early age.

A funeral was Sunday at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church on Smokey Road, Newnan, with the Rev. J. Neal, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. R. W. Sutton.

Burial was in Eastview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Danny Tuck, Bobby Mitchell, Elvis Levell, Michael Teasley, James Newton and Kenneth Levell.

Mr. Perry Charles Mason, 39, of Split Rail Farm Road in Haralson died April 26, 1998 at his home.

Mr. Mason was born Dec. 8, 1958 in Atlanta. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church near Alvaton.

Mr. Mason had worked in the construction industry and owned and operated his own construction company before retiring for health reasons.

A memorial service will be held today at 11 a.m. at Mt.

Zion Baptist Church. The Rev. Winston Skinner will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Crowley Mason of Haralson; mother, Jewell Mason of Union City; sister, Merel Crowe of Fayetteville; brother, Morris Mason of Palmetto; mother-in-law, Ann Crowley of Hampton; and sister-in-law, Sheri Teet of Tyrone.

Mr. John Butler Googe Jr., 79, of Carrollton died April 28, 1998 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.

Born Sept. 15, 1918 in Dallas, Texas, Mr. Googe was the son of the late John Butler Googe Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth Pierce Googe. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Lee Googe.

Mr. Googe was a retired maintenance supervisor with Atlanta Public Schools, a World War Two veteran of the Army-Air Corps and a member of Lowell United Methodist Church.

A service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Patton officiating. Burial will follow at Carroll Memory Gardens with his grandsons serving as pallbearers and his granddaughters serving as honorary pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Day Googe of Carrollton; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Sandy Googe of Newnan; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Harry Robinson of Newnan; daughter-in-law and husband, Mary Googe Duncan and Freddie Duncan; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and niece and nephew, David and Sue Young of Thomaston.

Born July 13, 1906 in Coweta County, Mrs. Hill was a member of China Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Turin.

A funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at China Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.J. Buchanan officiating, assisted by the Rev. L.W. Booker, the Rev. Harold Kilgour, the Rev. Virgil Sims and Craig Hill.

Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Moreland with her grandsons serving as pallbearers and deacons of her church serving as honorary pallbearers.

Born Oct. 25, 1910 in Coweta County, Mrs. Shirey was a retired dietitian at Newnan High School and substitute teacher at Western School. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and served as president of the Missionary Circle.

A funeral will be today at 4 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, with Dr. Gerald S. Troutman and the Rev. Ken Norton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Hugh Beavers, Arlin Barr, Larry Cooley, Aubin Cumbie, James Goodrum II, Jim Goodrum, Clyde Jeffreys, Victor Harris, Gary King and Doyal Shirey serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Gerald S. and Mrs. Marihope Shirey Troutman; grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Steve (Frances Troutman) Harris, Gerald Stevenson Troutman Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Lee Shirey (Nan) Troutman; and great-grandchildren, Lawson Brown Harris, Kathleen Shirey Troutman and Mary Turner Troutman.
