Born Aug. 29, 1905 in Randolph County, Ala., Mr. Benefield was the son of the late Luther and Cora Green Benefield. He was retired from Uniroyal Inc. and was a deacon of Antioch Baptist Church in Hogansville.
A funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Eley, the Rev. Ken Rose and the Rev. Ray Clevenger officiating. Burial will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange with Edward Caldwell, Galin Caldwell, Bill Caldwell, Larry Wayne Nichols, Terry Pitts and Shawn Yarbrough serving as pallbearers.

Born Aug. 19, 1909 in Bronx, N.Y., Mrs. Capofreddi was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ercelia Mottola and the wife of the late Peter Capofreddi. She was a homemaker.
A funeral will be today at St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery in New Hyde Park, N.Y.

Mrs. Patsy Ann Foster Kuester, 48, of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Newnan died April 23, 1998 at West Georgia Medical Center Hospice in LaGrange.
Born Nov. 11, 1949, Mrs. Kuester was the daughter of the late Beatrice Bell Foster. She was preceded in death by brothers, Willie B. Foster, Ervin Foster and an infant brother.
A funeral was Thursday at Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church in Luthersville, with the Rev. A.G. Baker and the Rev. Philip Baker officiating, assisted by the Rev. C.L. Melson, the Rev. R.W. Sutton, the Rev. J.T. Coleman and the Rev. Johnny Strickland.
Burial followed at the church cemetery with the West Central High School Class of 1968 serving as pallbearers.

Born July 7, 1914 in Carroll County, Mr. McRae was the son of the late William Bryant McRae and Lillian Wilkerson McRae. He was preceded in death by two children, Raymond Bryant McRae and Charlsie Lou McRae, and brothers, Willard McRae and Horace McRae.
Mr. McRae was a retired truck driver from Carroll Lime Co. and a member of Lowell United Methodist Church.

Born Sept. 4, 1902 in Carroll County, Mr. Fleming was the son of the late Thomas Homer Fleming and Willie Richards Fleming. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Dwight Baptist Church in Gadsden.

Mr. Gary Ballard, 45, of Brookfield Drive, Newnan, died May 3, 1998, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta after a brief illness.
Mr. Ballard was born Jan. 21, 1953 in Atlanta, son of the late Fredrick Job Ballard, and Mrs. Betty Toney of Newnan. Formerly of LaGrange, Mr. Ballard had lived in Newnan for the past 16 years. He was a member of Line Creek Baptist Church in Peachtree City, Georgia.
A funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hunter-Allen Myhand Chapel in LaGrange with the Rev. Franklin Treadwell officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens, LaGrange.

Rev. William Kirby Bryan
The Rev. William Kirby Bryan, 87, of Kirby Bryan Road, Carrollton, died May 3, 1998, at Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome.
He was born in Chatooga County, Georgia, Dec. 17, 1910, son of the late William A. Bryan and Anna S. Ball Bryan. He was an ordained minister and a retired machine fixer. Rev. Bryan laid the cornerstone for New Hope Baptist Church in 1937 and was a member of New Hope Baptist.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Lee Hackney Bryan.
A funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Martin and Hightower West Center Street Chapel in Carrollton with the Rev. Noble Hendrix, the Rev. Ralph Ploof and the Rev. Henry Walraven officiating. Music will be by Rita, Jimmy and Cory Pearson. Pallbearers will be Glenn Hill, Bobby Boatright, Donald Boatright, Alan Akers, E. L. Williams, Mark Rice, Don McBride and Timmy Boatright. Mrs. Ollie Lue Hines of Fourth Street in Arnco died April 27, 1998 at Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan.
She was born August 29, 1905, to the late Mr. John T. Wood and Mrs. Amanda Geter Wood in Heard County, Ga., and was married to the late Mr. John Thomas Emerson Hines Dec. 7, 1924. They had three children, Johnny E. (Jack), Ollie Mae and Georgia Dell, all of whom preceded their mother in death.
A funeral was Saturday at Bethel Heard Baptist Church in Franklin, Ga. with the Rev. Clinton Melson, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Billly Wood, the Rev. Willie L. Geter and the Rev. Melvin Brittian Jr.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were nephews, great-nephews and cousins.
Surviving are five grandchildren, James T. Mr. Millard Kirby
Mr. Millard Kirby of Willie Parks Road, Newnan, died April 27, 1998 at Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Ga.
He was born April 5, 1932 to the late Ed and Ruth Kirby. He grew up in Newnan and attend Powell Chapel United Methodist Church.
A funeral was Saturday at Powell Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. R. W. Sutton, pastor, officiating, assisted by other ministers. Burial was in the church cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers.
Surviving are his twin brother, Willard Kirby; another brother, Willie Paul Kirby; sisters, Christine Parks, Queen E. Clements, and Edna Adams; brother-in-law, Bennie Adams; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Willie James Lynch Sr.
Newnan City Councilman Willie James Lynch Sr. of 26 Paul St., Newnan, died suddenly April 26, 1998, at Southwest Medical Center in Brunswick, Ga.
Mr. Lynch was born Aug. 9, 1917, son of the late Edward and Winnie Lynch. A lifelong resident of Coweta County, he moved to Newnan at the age of five. He was a veteran of World War II. A a member of the Burns United Methodist Church since early childhood, he served as chairperson of the Finance Committee and later as Lay Leader, Trustee, Steward and for a number of years as president of the Methodist Men. He also served on the Board of Health, Trustee Board of Community Action for Improvement Inc., and a a director of the First Union National Bank of Georgia from 1970-1972 and thereafter became an honorary director for life. He was also named Man of the Year in 1991.
Councilman Lynch's early career years were with organizations such as Pilgrim Health and Life Insurance Company for 15 years, and the William L Bonnell Company for 28 years. After retiring from the Bonnell Co. and other leadership positions, such as financial secretary for Local Union 14102, the councilman embarked on his career in public service.
He became the first African American elected to the Newnan City Council.
He has been married to the late Katie Beadles for 31 years, and they had five children, one of whom, Cynthia Dianne Lynch, preceded him in death.
A funeral was Saturday at Sellers-Smith R.W.S. Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gregory Williams presiding, the Rev. R. W. Sutton as eulogist and assisted by the Rev. W. J. Johnson and the Rev. J. T. Coleman.
Burial was in Sunset Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were officers of the Newnan Police Department.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Mrs. Ruby Lynch; sons, Willie James Lynch Jr. and wife Rosalind, Howard Lynch and wife Judith, Jibril Lynch (formerly Johnny Lynch), and Waymon Lynch and wife Linda; step-children, Jerome Smith and wife Rosemary, Cassaundra Parham and husband Calvin, Angelyn Smith and husband Sammy Smith Jr.; two adopted daughters, Kim and Keisha Ballamy; sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Sam and Ceola Willoughby, Ms. Louvenia Venner; brother, Henry and Carrie Lynch; mother-in-law, Mrs. Clara Bates; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Grier and Ms. Lela Ward; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ross was born Feb. 26, 1912, in Meriwether County, Ga., son of the late Andrew Jackson Ross and Annie Akiss Ross. He was a retired farmer and worked in the textile industry. He was a member of Turin Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Ross Sr. and Inas Ross.
