Born July 14, 1910 in Carroll County, the Rev. Drake was the son of the late Tom and Katie Ivey Drake. He was a retired minister and textiles worker and a member of New Lebanon Baptist Church.
A funeral will be Thursday, July 23, at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jimmy Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, with Jerry Buchanan, Joshua Buchanan, Jerry Moore, Marcus Moore, Michael Saylors and Buren Lassetter serving as pallbearers.

Born Nov. 6, 1913 in Schwedt/Oder, Germany, Mrs. Fuhrmann was the daughter of Carl August Schattschneider and Bertha Schattschneider. She was a homemaker.
A graveside service will be Friday, July 24, at 4 p.m. at Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Ken Hamilton officiating.

Mr. Luther William "Bill" Reeves, 74, of Peachtree City died July 22, 1998.
Born Sept. 23, 1923, Mr. Reeves was a member of Tyrone Lodge #644 and Yaarab Shrine Temple. He was a WWII veteran, serving aboard the USS Franklin.

Mrs. Margaret M. Witherow Freeland, 46, of Burch Avenue in Newnan died July 20, 1998 at Newnan Hospital.
Born April 7, 1952, Mrs. Freeland was the daughter of the late Willie P. Mitchell Sr. and lived in Newnan all her life. She was a member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.
The first African-American to graduate from Newnan High School in 1970, Mrs. Freeland earned a bachelor's degree from Albany State College and a graduate degree from West Georgia College.
She taught at O.P Evans Middle School, East Coweta High School and Central Middle School, eventually becoming involved with the Science, Engineering, Communication and Mathematics Enrichment program.
The funeral was July 23 at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie D. Washington officiating, assisted by the Rev. H.H. Dyer, Susie Hudson, the Rev. R.W. Sutton and the Rev. Ronnie Jones. Burial followed at Eastview Cemetery with her nephews and cousins serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Grace K. Hipp
Mrs. Grace Kidd Hipp, 76, of Hogansville, Ga., died Saturday, July 25, 1998, at Florence Hand Home in LaGrange.
Mrs. Hipp was born March 20, 1922 in Heard County, daughter of the late Alvin and Verna Eley Kidd. She had lived in Hogansville since 1933 and was a graduate of the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing in Atlanta. She was a retired registered nurse and served as the plant nurse for Uniroyal, Inc. in Hogansville for 38 years.
A member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Hipp has been active in the Presbyterian Women. She was a former member of the Hogansville Womans Club and for many years she taught the Primary Sunday School class at First Baptist Church of Hogansville. She was the widow of the late Pryor W. Hipp.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville, with the Rev. Eric Killinger and the Rev. Rance Sprayberry officiating.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Faith K. Smith of Hogansville; two step-grandsons, Tommy Dodson of McDonough and Tim Dodson of Phoenix, Arizona; and five step-great-grandchildren, Samantha Dodson and Nathan Dodson of McDonough, Ricky Dodson, Ben Dodson and Michelle Dodson, all of Phoenix.
