Mrs. Sarah Henrietta Stephens, 95, of Hogansville died Aug. 19, 1998 at Franklin Healthcare Center.
Born Dec. 10, 1902 in Heard County, Mr. Stephens was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Williams and Roxie Smith Williams and the wife of the late Mirrie Neal Stephens. She was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church and a lunchroom supervisor at Ephesus School.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Ephesus Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughters, Margie Shelnutt of Athens, Earline Sorrells of Cedartown, Dondra Keheley of Lakemont, Wanda Hall of Greenville, Texas; sons, Vernon R. Mr. James David Brewster Jr.
Mr. James David Brewster Jr. died Aug. 20, 1998 at Newnan Hospital.
Son of the late James David Brewster and Margaret Barfield Brewster, Mr. Brewster was born in Newnan and was a member of First United Methodist Church and a graduate of Newnan High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in textile engineering from Georgia Tech in 1923.
A member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, Mr. Brewster played basketball and football and ran track while at Georgia Tech, earning the nickname the Side-Stepping Wonder as a football player. He later played professional football for the Newark Bears.
Brewster was a lieutenant in WWII and was wounded in Africa during his service. He later managed his family's farms and pulpwood operations.
A graveside service will be Saturday, Aug. 22, at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by cousins.

Mr. Richard F. Connors Sr., 64, of Ray City died Aug. 21, 1998 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. after an auto accident.
Born in Lowell, Mass., Mr. Connors was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Connors and was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Connors. He was of the Catholic faith and a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Bluford Jones, 66, of Hogansville did Aug. 23, 1998 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Mr. Jones was born Aug. 28, 1931 in Meriwether County, son of the late Joseph Henry Jones and Mattie Turner Jones. He had lived in Hogansville since 1959 and attended Antioch Baptist Church.
Mr. Jones retired from the City of Hogansville after 26 years, having served as assistant fire chief.
Services will be held today at 4 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Hogansville with the Rev. Wesley Boatman officiating. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Mr. Jones was born March 19, 1924 in Coweta County. He was a retired minister, textile worker and farmer.
Mr. Jones was a member of Gordon Road Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his twin sons, Pat and Tim Jones.
