Born March 14, 1931 in Coweta County, Mr. Bowden was the son of the late Firely and Ruby Hendrix Bowden. Retired from Barton Security Company, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a Baptist.
The funeral will be Thursday, Oct. 1, at 4 p.m. at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Willard Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan, with Danny Duncan, Randall Duncan, Allen Bowden, Donald Bowden, Barry Bowden and Marcus Caswell as pallbearers.

Mr. Frank Henry Cheaves, 63, of Herring Road in Newnan died Sept. 24, 1998 at his home.
Born May 19, 1935, Mr. Cheaves was the son of the late Bertha Moore Cheaves. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Sumlin, and a grandchild, Makayla Cheaves.
Mr. Cheaves was retired from William L Bonnell Company after 30 years and was a member of St. John Baptist Church.
The funeral was Sept. 28 at St. John Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Farmer officiating, assisted by Susie Hudson, the Rev. R.W. Sutton and the Rev. Rufus Smith. Burial followed at the church cemetery with the St. John Baptist Church Board of Deacons as pallbearers.

Mrs. Annie Ruth Locke, 80, of Thomaston died Sept. 30, 1998 at Riverside Nursing Care Center.
A lifelong resident of Upson County, Mrs. Locke was a homemaker and a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.

Born in Henry County, Mrs. Minter was the wife of the late Rev. P. Merrill Minter. She was a homemaker and at one time taught at the Georgia School for the Deaf.

Mr. Nathan A. "Red" Breed, 80, of Hogansville, died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Randall Hodge and the Rev. Dorothy Herndon will officiate. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Pallbearers will be Matt Odom, Scott Odom, James Odom Jr., Dale Prather, Chuck Prather, Mark Phillips and Leslie Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Duffey, Bobby Barrett and Marvin Leatherwood.
Mr. Breed was born May 9, 1918 in Randolph County, Alabama, son of the late Lewis Bradley Breed and the late Maggie Turner Breed. He had lived in Hogansville since 1938, served as an Army paratrooper in World War Two, and retired from Uniroyal Inc. after 37 years of service. He was a member and longtime Sunday School superintendent of the Hogansville Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Culberson Breed of Hogansville; two brothers, Jim Breed of Phenix City, Alabama and Calvin Breed of Loneoak; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Breed may be made to the Hogansville Church of God.

Mr. Raymond Lee Daniel Jr., 36, of Old Corinth Road, Newnan, died Sept. 30, 1998 at Peachtree Regional Hospital.
He was born Sept. 29, 1962 in Coweta County - Newnan, Georgia, son of Mr. Raymond Daniel Sr. and Mrs. Emma Jean Hutchinson Daniel. He attended Newnan High School where he graduated in 1981 and later attended Jacksonville State. His talents were shared among several high school bands, including Newton and Fayette Counties of Georgia and Orangeburg, South Carolina. He retired in 1994 from McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia.
A funeral was Saturday, Oct. 3, at Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip K. Carr, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. T. Coleman. The remains were cremated following the services.

Mrs. Morris was born August 4, 1908 in Coweta County, daughter of the late Arthur Millians and Jimmie Cash Millians. She was the widow of James Thompson Morris. Mrs. Morris was retired as a clerk for the former Kessler Department Store. She was predeceased by one grandchild, Elaine Houston, and a great-grandchild, Thomas B. Morris III.

He was born April 26, 1906 in Meriwether County. He was a member of Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church in Luthersville where he was caretaker for the church cemetery for many years. He was known to friends as "Bro Downer." He had been attending the Brien Center Health and Rehab in LaGrange, Ga.
A funeral will be Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 1:30 p.m. at Rocky Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Grady Lawrence as eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Lewinston Jackson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Byron E. "Jack" Griffith, 86, of Lindsey Barron Drive in Newnan died Oct. 6, 1998 at his home.
Born Aug. 11, 1912 in Cullman, Ala., Mr. Griffith was the son of the late Byron E. Griffith and Lelia Cochran Griffith. A 1934 graduate of the University of Georgia, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having worked in army intelligence.
A resident of Newnan since 1953, he bought the Pepsi Cola Bottling plant in Newnan that year.
A graveside service will be Thursday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan, with Dr. Joel E. Richardson officiating. The family will receive visitors at McKoon Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
