Born May 12, 1977 in Coweta County, Mr. McKoon was a landscaper and a member of Victory Tabernacle Baptist Church.
The funeral will be Friday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home, with the Rev. Milton Winslett officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, with James Evans, Keith Abbott, Brian Duncan, Matt Duncan, John Whitten and Danny Stevenson as pallbearers.

Born Sept. 27, 1953 in Meriwether County, Mrs. Norton was the daughter of the late William Robert Evans and Myrtle Cook Evans. She was a homemaker.

Mr. Lemuel J. Farmer, 86, of Hogansville died Dec. 18, 1998 at his home.
Born Sept. 10, 1912 in Heard County, Mr. Farmer was the son of the late William and Loumina Norwood Farmer. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired heavy equipment operator and sold produce in Hogansville and LaGrange.
The funeral will be Sunday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. at the graveside at Hillview East Cemetery in LaGrange, with the Rev. R.C. Prescott officiating.

Mrs. Ida Mae Strozier Godfrey, 69, of Hogansville died Dec. 11, 1998 at her home.
Born July 27, 1929, Mrs. Godfrey was the daughter of the late Mable Strozier. She was a member of Neriah Baptist Church in Greenville, where she was a choir member, a Sunday School teacher and former treasurer.

Mr. Robert Louis Newson, 70, of Westside School Road in Newnan died Dec. 15, 1998 at Peachtree Regional Hospital.
Born Aug. 1, 1928 in Coweta County, Mr. Newson was the son of the late Ed Newson and Iona Finley Newson. He was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, where he served as president of the Usher Board and Sunday School superintendent.
Mr. Newson was a member of Five Star Gospel Group and worked for Brown Steel Contractors in Newnan.
The funeral was Dec. 19 at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. J.C. Neal officiating, assisted by the Rev. J.W. Russell, the Rev. J.T. Coleman and the Rev. Grady Vaughn. Burial followed at the church Cemetery, with his nephews as pallbearers and the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church Steward Board as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. James Thomas "Pete" Calhoun Jr., 86, of Hogansville, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998 at Franklin Healthcare Center.
Mr. Calhoun was born Feb. 27, 1912, in Coweta County, son of the late James and Laura Cochran Calhoun. He lived at Moreland before making his home in Hogansville seven years ago, was retired from Royal Moulded Products in Newnan, and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Meriwether County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Flossie Calhoun, and by a son, Terry Calhoun.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Mike Watson will officiate and burial will be in Southview Cemetery in Moreland.
Pallbearers will be Clay Neill, Lee Calhoun, Sammy Calhoun, Tommy Calhoun, Norman Calhoun Jr. and Benny Coker.

Mrs. Myrtle Claire Kersey, 87, of Shilling Way, Newnan, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998 at Arrowhead Health and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Kersey was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma Sept. 22, 1911, daughter of the late Ward Plato and Martha Holloway Plato. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie B. Kersey.
A funeral was held Monday at 7:30 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Allan Mathura officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Surviving are daughter, Clara Blankinship of Newnan; grandchild, Denise Blankinship of Charlotte, N.C.

Mr. Bill Steele
Mr. Bill Steele, 77, of Bohannon Ct., Newnan, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998 at Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan.
Mr. Steele was born Sept. 12, 1921 in Carroll County, Georgia to the late Banjamin Isaiah Steele and the late Manna Alberta Thrower. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Steele.
Mr. Steele was self-employed as a carpenter/ roofer. He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy Steele of Newnan; daughters, Brenda Banks and Sylvia White, both of Newnan, and Elaine Bearden of Grantville; sister, Carrie Harrington of Fortson, Ga.; ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
