A funeral will be held at Hillcrest Chapel Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J. Russell Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in Marietta National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Adamson was born Oct. 8, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN. Her parents were Alvin G. Bowe and Marion Manerud Bowe. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Adamson was preceded in death by her husband, William Lawrence Adamson.

Born Nov. 17, 1906 in Luthersville, Mrs. Rosser was the daughter of the late Carrie and Joe Perry. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn Rosser.

Born Aug. 8 1923 in Lumpkin County, Mr. Maughon was a senior crusade director for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He was a former U.S. Navy pilot.

Mr. John M. Aiken, 87, of Clearwater, Fla. and a former resident of Hogansville, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999 at Palm Garden Convalescent Center in Clearwater.
A funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. Jimmy Brown will officiate and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Aiken was born Sept. 18, 1911 in Omaha, Ga., son of the late John George Aiken and the late Bessie Powell Aiken. A former resident of Columbus and Harris County, he lived in Hogansville for eight years before making his home in Clearwater in 1996. He retired from Wells Dairies in Columbus, and was a member of Pine Lake Baptist Church in Harris County, and was a former member of the Hogansville Senior Center.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Val Vaillancourt of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; one son, John M. Aiken Jr. of Peachtree City; two granddaughters, Miss Cynthia Reynolds of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Mrs. Paula Janney of Hogansville; and two great-grandsons, Ryan McMillan and Christopher McMillan, both of Hogansville.

Mr. Matt Haisten
Matt Haisten, 73, a member of a prominent middle Georgia funeral directing family, died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999.
Born in Senoia on March 16, 1925, he attended Emory at Oxford and the University of Georgia Savannah Division. During World War II he served in the Navy as a pharmacist's mate in the Pacific theatre where he participated in the invasions of Guam and Saipan. He established Haisten Funeral Home in Barnesville in 1949 and continued as a director until his death.
Survivors include his wife, the former Anne Darden Cherry; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cherry Haisten and Doug duMas of Seattle, Wash., Nez and Jim Harper of Indianapolis, Ind. and Giney Haisten and Tripp Doepher of Riverside, Calif.; two grandchildren, Anna Lee Jones duMas and Zachary Austin Harper; a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Haisten of Griffin; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ben Haisten of Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Legge of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hill was born June 24, 1929 in Meriwether County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hill (Flora). He joined the New Hope Baptist Church in Haralson, Ga. at an early age. He was retired from the Lockheed Company in Marietta, Ga.
A funeral was Friday, Jan. 8 at Sellers-Smith R.W.S. Memorial Chapel. The Rev. L. W. Booker officiated, assisted by the Rev. Willie Heard and Minister Tim Colton.

Mrs. Bernice Spruell, 86, formerly of Newnan, died Jan. 9, 1999 at Wesley Woods in Atlanta.
Mrs. Spruell was the daughter of the late Ivey Benton Sherrill and the late Myrtice Nunnelley Sherrill, and the wife of the late Cecil Lewis Spruell.
She was retired from teaching after 32 years, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newnan.

Mr. Thompson was born Feb. 14, 1922 in Coweta County, son of the late James Henry Thompson and the late Sarah Burks Thompson. He was a lifelong resident of Coweta County, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grantville, and was retired from Southern Mills in Senoia. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Aaron "Donny" Wilkins of Clearwater Road, Sharpsburg, died Jan. 6, 1999 at his residence.
Mr. Wilkins was born April 21, 1947, the sixth child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oliver (Lue Dora) Wilkins Sr. He joined the Mount Sinai Baptist Church of Gay, Ga. at an early age. He was married to the late Polly Bridges and they had one son. Later he was married to Joyce Simmons Wilkins. A brother, Mr. Ernest Lee Wilkins, preceded him in death.
A funeral was Sunday, Jan. 10 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Sharpsburg, with the Rev. Ronald Groom, pastor, officiating; Rev. E.A. Stephens as eulogist; and evangelist Vergie Hayes assisting. Burial was in Eastview Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers.
