Born Feb. 17, 1917 in Coweta County, Mrs. Crowder was the daughter of the late Rev. R.H. Neely Sr. and Rachel W. Neely and the wife of the late William Crowder, She was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Neely, O'Neal Neely and Penson Neely; and sisters, Jossiphene Sheffield, Lucy Glass, Ann Thompson and Odessa Neely.
The funeral will be Tuesday, May 4, at noon at St. Peter Baptist Church in Newnan, with the Rev. L.C. Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mr. Donald Wayne Favors, 47, of Augusta, formerly of Newnan, died April 29, 1999 at his home.
Born Dec. 20, 1951 in Coweta County, Mr. Favors was the son of the late Tommie Lee Favors Sr. He attended public school in Newnan before earning a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Albany State College.
Mr. Favors started his teaching career at Fairmount Elementary School in Newnan and later worked as director of the Verona Rosser Community Center. He later went to work with Georgia Power at Plant Yates and was transferred to Plant Vogel in Augusta.
The funeral was Tuesday, May 4, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Grantville, with the Rev. C. Melson and Rev. Hamp Long officiating, assisted by the Rev. John Farmer, the Rev. Melvin Brittain Jr., the Rev. Lowinston Jackson, Evangelist Brenda Osby and the Rev. Emmett Clark.
Burial followed at Camp Ground Cemetery in St. Mark, with members of the Central High School Class of 1969 and Kappa Alpa Psi fraternity as pallbearers.

Mr. Charles A. Byrd, 63, of Newnan died May 5, 1999.
The son of the late I.D. Byrd and Maybeth Howington Byrd, Mr. Byrd was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and an Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia Ark. and earned higher degrees from Auburn University and West Georgia College.
An educator for 32 years, Mr. Byrd taught at Johnson Elementary School in Columbus and was a principal at Western, East Newnan and Arnco Sargent schools in Coweta County. He was a deacon emeritus of First Baptist Church in Newnan and a member of the Newnan Kiwanis Club and Newnan Golden K for 25 years.
The funeral will be Sunday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Gene Tyre officiating. Burial will follow at First Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan.

Born Dec. 25, 1919 in Ashburn, Mr. Hill was retired from Atlanta Steel and was a retired farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Mrs. Hertha J. Gillespie of Elder Circle, Carrollton, died Saturday, May 8, 1999.
Mrs. Gillespie, a native of Heard County, was the daughter of the late Rufus E. Jackson and Betty Nutt Jackson. She was a retired nursing assistant, a member and past Matron of Carroll Chapter #406 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Gillespie was a member of the Roopville Road Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A. B. "Bonnie" Gillespie; sister, Blanche Jackson Jones; brothers, Joe Jackson, Cliff Jackson, Hulett Jackson, Huston Jackson and Bryant Jackson.
A graveside service was conducted Monday, May 10 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery with members of the family officiating.

Mrs. Zachery was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Julie Reeves Nov. 6, 1932 in Meriwether County. She joined the Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age and later was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Greenville, Ga. She married the late Robert J. Dean Jan. 2, 1949 and they had six children. One son, Leon Dean, preceded her in death.
A funeral was held Saturday, May 8 at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Corinth with the Rev. Johnny C. Strickland, pastor, officiating, the Rev. Margaret S. Hicks as eulogist and assisted by the Rev. Azel Warner.
