A funeral was Monday, May 31 at 11 a.m. at Haralson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carolyn M. Evans officiating. Burial was in Haralson United Methodist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Clara Francis Williams, 78, of Leesburg, Ga., died Saturday, June 5, 1999 in Albany, Ga.
Mrs. Williams was born March 7, 1921 in Coweta County, Ga. She had lived in Leesburg since moving from Newnan in 1953. She was retired as an instructor with the Georgia Industry for the Blind. She was a member of Alpha Baptist Church.
A funeral was being held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 7 at graveside at Leesburg Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Jenkins was officiating.

Mr. Walter Mitchell Griffin, 46, of Ridgeway Road, Franklin, Ga., died Tuesday, June 8, 1999 at his residence.
Mr. Griffin was born in Coweta County, Ga. Feb. 18, 1953. He was owner/operator of CZB Transport, Inc. and a Newnan Police Department officer for 24 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklin. His father, Yancey Sullivan Williams preceded him in death.
A funeral for Mr. Griffin will be held at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan Thursday, June 10, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Talmadge Chandler and the Rev. Mickey Noles will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.
Pallbearers will be Frank Alvis, Adam Cash, Bill Cross, Jim Harmon, Wayne Jones, Jack Perry, John Thompson III and Jack Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be officers of the Newnan Police Department.

Mrs. Celestia Fortenberry, 94, of Alabaster, Ala. died Tuesday, June 8, 1999 at her residence.
Mrs. Fortenberry was a devoted mother and lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Pelham where she was a member of the Althea Sunday School class.
A funeral was Thursday, June 10 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Jefferson Memorial South Funeral Home in Hoover, Alabama. Dr. Mike Shaw officiated, and burial was in Jefferson Memorial Gardens South, in Hoover, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fortenberry.

Miss Johnson was born Dec. 10, 1904 and was the daughter of the late Egbert Daniel and Mary Kate Walker Johnson. She was a retired nurse for Dr. Charles Farmer and Newnan Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Newnan.

A funeral will be held at graveside in Oak Hill Cemetery on Saturday, June 12, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gary Parrish and the Rev. Terry Thompkins officiating.

Mr. J. D. Brittian Sr., known as "Deacon Brittian," of Bagley Road, Newnan, died June 12, 1999 at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Brittian was born May 18, 1932 to the late Deacon Jessie and Rosa Long Brittian. At an early age he joined Oak Grove Baptist Church in the Roscoe Community north of Newnan where he served on the Board of Ushers, then later became an ordained deacon in September 1990 and served faithfully until his health failed. One son, J. D. Brittian Jr., preceded him in death.
A funeral was Wednesday, June 16 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in the Roscoe Community of north Coweta County with the Rev. J. L. Hendricks, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden, Mallory Road, College Park, Ga. Serving as pallbearers were the Oak Grove Church Board of Deacons.

Mrs. Ruby Mae Cobb, 81, of the Corinth Community of Heard County, died Thursday, June 17, 1999 at the West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Mrs. Cobb was born Oct. 27, 1917 in Heard County, daughter of the late James Robert Thomaston and the late Lou Ellen Williamson Thomaston. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and was retired from Jordan Mills in Columbus.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Sally Kennerly, and a son, Cleveland Smith.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 Saturday night.

Mrs. Rosa Marcus of Newnan died Sunday, June 20, 1999 at Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Marion E. F. McLamb, 57, of 96 Abner Road, Franklin, died Saturday, June 19, 1999 in a Newnan hospital.
He was born August 15, 1941 in Heard County, son of the late Earnest Francis McLamb Sr. and Jesse Frances Knight McLamb. Mr. McLamb was a member of the Glenloch Baptist Church, an Army veteran, and had worked for the Heard County Water Authority.
A funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Glenloch Baptist Church with the Rev. Bo Hendon, the Rev. Robert Doddridge and Mr. Terry Harper officiating. Music will be rendered by Louise Holmes and Helen Jenkins. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Garrie Lee Lewis McLamb, sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth "Buddy" and Deborah McLamb of Newnan, Beavis T. and Tammy Hand Jr. of Whitesburg, Earnest Lamar and Joy Hand of Hartselle, AL, Baris Wayne Hand of Franklin; daughters and sons-in-law, Robert and Monica Lisa McLamb Doddridge, Wayne and Melissa Latrelle McLamb Davenport, Yvonne Henderson, all of Newnan, Julie Sheffield of Forrest Park; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gail McLamb of Locust Grove, Curtis and Lucy McLamb Kaylor of Carrollton, Bill and Jenny Sperling of Silsbee, Texas; brothers, Ernest F. McLamb Jr., Cagle McLamb, both of Locust Grove, Phil and Debbie McLamb of Jonesboro; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
