Mrs. Louise Wadsworth Jeffcoat
Mrs. Louise Wadsworth Jeffcoat, 82, wife of the late retired LTC O.A. Jeffcoat, died Friday, June 18, 1999 and funeral services will be in Columbia, South Carolina.
Born in Newnan, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Louise Peddy Wadsworth. A graduate of Wesleyan College, she was honored with that school's Distinguished Service Award in 1970. She continued her education at Emory University, Winthrop College, Columbia College and the University of South Carolina. She was a former reporter and make-up editor for the Atlanta Journal and had written articles for various magazines and newspapers. She was a former head of the Clearance Department for Pan American Airlines in Miami, FL. For 24 years she taught journalism, creative writing and English in high schools in Atlanta, Greenwood and at A.C. Flora in Columbia.
Mrs. Jeffcoat was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church where she served as a member of the Administrative Board and the Staff/Parish Committee. She was a teacher in the Sunday School and taught a circle for more than 30 years. She was a former president of the Holroyd Class.
A funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Washington Street United Methodist Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia, S.C.
Memorials may be made to the Nature Conservancy, Columbia, S.C.; Washington Street United Methodist Church Foundation in Columbia; or to the Wesleyan College, Macon, Ga.

She was born April 3, 1960 in Cobb County, Ga. She worked in the accounting department for Progressive Lighting and was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church in Hapeville.

Mr. Leo Winston, 82, of Decatur, died Monday, June 21, 1999 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.
Mr. Winston was born in New Bedford, Mass. June 25, 1916 to Joseph Winiarski and the former Anna Brekwich. He was an architectural representative with PPG Manf. and was of the Catholic faith.
A funeral will be held at graveside 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 23 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Deacon Ben Gross officiating.
Surviving are daughters, Sybil Haggee of Decatur and Rutherford Martin of Albany; sister-in-law Polly Leon of Newnan; five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mr. George B. Adair
Mr. George B. Adair of Newnan, formerly of Marietta, died at Emory Hospital June 19, 1999.
He was a veteran of World War II where he was awarded the purple heart for bravery. He worked at Lockheed for 27 years and retired in 1979. He was a member of Macland Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Virginia Roland Adair; son, James Edward Adair of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter and son-in-law, Ginger Adair Fulton and Larry W. Fulton of Newnan; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The remains have been cremated and private memorial services are to be held at a later date.

Ms. Earnestine Gates, 51, of Senoia, died June 18, 1999 at Fayette Community Hospital in Fayetteville, Ga.
Ms. Gates was born April 9, 1948 in Fayette County. A graduate of the 1966 Class of Central High School in Newnan, she was an educator at the McCrary Elementary School. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Haralson, Ga., where she worked with the children's ministry.
A sister, Doris Gates and brother-in-law Horace P. Bowles preceded her in death.
A funeral was held 2 p.m. June 23 at Piney Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. A. G. Baker was eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Johnny Strickland, Apostle E. M. Byrd, the Rev. D. L. Cantrel and other ministers. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were family and friends.

Mr. Williamson was born Feb. 18, 1922 in Heard County, son of the late Will and Dovie Harrison Williamson. He was a lifelong resident of Hogansville, was a member of the First Assembly of God in Hogansville, and owned and operated Williamson Timer Company for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Betty McWhorter Williamson.

He was born in Cleburne County, Alabama Oct. 16, 1920, son of the late Phillip Lyndon "Boss" Meeks and Evie Emiline Bonds Meeks. He was a retired carpenter, a World War II Army veteran, and a member of Abilene Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Livaria Hand Meeks and one son, Lyndon Meeks.

Mrs. Thompson was born Oct. 16, 1917 in Newnan, daughter of the late James Loy Williams and the late Lurline Sims Williams. She lived in Hogansville most of her life, was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville and was retired from Mansour's of LaGrange. Mrs. Thompson served as Ms. Georgia Nursing Home in 1995.

Mr. Travis Kee, 60, of Luthersville, died Saturday, June 26, 1999, at his home.
Kee was is a native of Meriwether County and was the son of the late William Aubrey and Mary Strickland Kee. Kee was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran who participated in the Vietnam War. He was also a former employee of Eastern Airlines.
Survivors include wife Nancy Kee, of Luthersville, four daughters, Cathy Perez, of Ft. Carson, Colo., Vanessa Dianne Kee, of Luthersville, Belinda Morris, of Conyers, and Denise Evans, of Douglasville. Kee is also survived by one son, William Alan Kee, of Luthersville, one sister, Juanita McMickle, of Lithonia, and nine grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 28, in the Chapel of Claude Am. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, in Hogansville. Rev. Powers Witcher will officiate and interment will be in Tranquility Park, at his home.

Mr. James H. "Foxy" McGraw, of Newnan, died Saturday morning, June 26, at his residence.
A native of Oswego, N.Y., McGraw was the son of the late James and Anna McGraw.
McGraw was a retired foreman with the American Can Company and was a member of St. George Catholic Church. He is survived by his children, Anne McGraw, Eileen Muzio, Jim McGraw and Michael McGraw and nine grandchildren, all of Newnan.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church. The rosary will be Sunday, June 27, at 7 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home with visitation until 9 p.m.

Mr. Willie Frank Strickland of Newnan died June 23, 1999 at Crawford Long Hosptial in Atlanta.
He was born March 26, 1944 in Coweta County to the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Ida Strickland. At an early age he joined the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Moreland. He was employed at Newnan Tire and Wheels until his illness.

Mrs. Jessie Mae Sumlin, formerly of Hill Street, Newnan, wife of the late Deacon Theo Sumlin, died Sunday, June 27, 1999 at Franklin Health Care Center.
