Mrs. Myrtice Robinson
Mrs. Myrtice Robinson, formerly of Melson Street, Newnan, died July 3, 1999 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center.
She was born April 10, 1910 in Coweta County to the late Ike and Carrie Mitchell Cox. She grew up and was educated in the Coweta County School System. She joined the Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church where she served in many auxiliaries until her health failed. She was a member of the Pride of Paradise Chapter 90 O.E.S.
She was married to Arthur Lum Robinson, who preceded her in death. She was the mother of five children. Two daughters preceded her in death, Levella Russell and Virginia Brown.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 9, at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Avery Sims, pastor, presiding. The Rev. H.H. Dyer was eulogist, ans assisting were the Rev. W. J. Johnson, the Rev. Felton James and the Rev. R. W. Sutton.
Burial was in Sunset Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers were members of the Mount Sinai Deacon Board. Active pallbearers were Gregory Evans, Jeffery Patrick, Gerald Parks, Cleveland Myner, Allen Wheeler and Howard Ragland.
Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Tommie L. Mr. Earle W. Sawyer, 83, of Sharpsburg died Thursday, July 8, 1999 at his residence.
Mr. Sawyer was born in Elizabeth City, NC June 11, 1916. He was a retired residential building superintendent and served on the Sharpsburg City Council. A vetern, he served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the South Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Senoia Masonic Lodge 82, Atlanta Shrine Club, Elks Club, Odd Fellows, Lions Club, VFW, and was a deacon of Sharpsburg Baptist Church. He was a leaderman at Elizabeth City shipyard in North Carolina, district superintendent of Knox Corp, vice president of Perkins Lumber and Supply Co. of Hapeville, Ga., was a member of the Executive Sales Club of Sears, a real estate agent and member of the American Cribbage Congress.
The family requests that no flowers be sent. It was Mr. Sawyer's request that memorial contributions be made to the Georgia chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
A funeral will be held at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan Monday, July 12 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Bill Deakins officiating. Burial will be in Sharpsburg Baptist Church cemetery on Highway 154 in Sharpsburg.
Surviving are his daughter, Kathleen Brown of Lithonia; sons Donald Sawyer of Kennesaw, Ga. and Wayne Sawyer of Sharpsburg.

Mr. Albert Martin Swygert II, 79, of Denver, CO died June 23, 1999 at the Swedish Hospital in Englewood, CO.
A funeral was June 28 at the Rutledge Funeral Home in Hico, TX with the Rev. Charles Grossman officiating. Burial was in the Hico Cemetery.
Mr. Swygert was born Dec. 19, 1919 in Meriwether County, GA. He married Mildred Hooker Nov. 21, 1942 in Paris Island, SC. He took up residnece in Austin, TX and moved to Denver in 1994. He was a Methodist and was a veteran of the Marine Corps and served during WWII. He later became a Texas Highway Patrolman and then an executive for a trucking company.
Survivors include sons John Allen Swygert of Denver, William Frank Swygert of Houston, TX, and Ralph Kenneth Swygert of Denver; brothers, James Swygert of Fairburn, GA, Thomas Swygert of Dallas, TX, Charles Swygert of Marietta, GA and Hope Swygert of McDonough, GA; two grandsons, three granddaughters and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Jackson was born May 12, 1922 in Moreland. He was a retired prison guard and served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Gary Lee Jones, 31, of Lincoln Street in Hogansville, died Wednesday night, July 7, 1999 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange of injuries received in an automobile accident near Hogansville.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at First Baptist Church of Peachtree City with the Rev. Makihigo Koyama officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
Mr. Jones was born Nov. 14, 1967 in Atlanta and lived in Japan for a number of years. He had lived in Hogansville for the past three years, was a member of First Baptist Church of Peachtree City and was employed at Hoshizaki America in Peachtree City.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Elizabeth Lawson, 52, of Franklin, Ga., were held Wednesday, July 7, 1999 at 2 p.m. at Tom Stutts & Son Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Heard County Memorial Gardens. The Reverends Luther Raines and Murry Hyatt officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. Earlene Shelnutt and Mrs. Sherry Cagey. Mrs. Lawson's son Arnold Ray offered words about his mother and made a special musical dedication on his and his brothers' behalf.
Mrs. Lawson was born Nov. 25, 1946 in Wise County, Virginia. She had lived with her family in Heard County the last 23 years. Before she became ill she was a work coordinator for Playtex. "Miss Mary" was perhaps best knwon and loved for her willingness to take in and mother all the community children.

Mr. Reese was born Feb. 8, 1919 in Troup County to John Reese and Leta Kimble. He was a retired truck driver and of the Baptist faith. A daughter, Dorothy Ann Reese, preceded him in death.

Mr. Goodwin was born March 21, 1943 in Macon, Ga. He was a retired major in the United States Air Force. A graduate of the University of Nebraska - Omaha, he entered the Air Force in 1962, serving as an officer in the Office of Special Investigation.

Mrs. Jones was born May 6, 1936 in Heard County, Ga. to Hampton L. and Velma (Hendrix) Tuggle. She attended Centralhatchee High School in Heard County. She married Clarence Aubrey Pope and later married Charles F. Jones April 17, 1981 in Hickman, Calif. She worked as a sales clerk and was a member of the Grace Tabernacle in Dodson, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hampton and Velma Tuggle and four brothers, Blinton, Dumer, Shirley and Hughlee.

Mrs. Kennedy was born August 15, 1935 in West Palm Beach, Fla. to Fred Lingerfelt and the former Annie Rue. She was a homemaker and member of Faith Baptist Church.

The Rev. James Howard Payton of Lake City, Ga. died Tuesday, July 13, 1999.
The family will receive friends at Donehoo-Lewis Funeral Home Inc. in Hapeville Thursday, July 15 until 8 p.m.
A funeral will be Friday, July 16 at 11 a.m. in the Donehoo-Lewis chapel with the Rev. Hubert Smith officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Forest Park, Ga.
Rev. Payton is preceded in death by his wife Addie Lee "Polly" Payton.

The Rev. Michael L. Phipps, 36, of Jackson, Ga. died July 12, 1999.
Rev. Phipps was born Dec. 4, 1962. He was an ordained Baptist minister.
A funeral will be held Thursday, July 15 at 2 p.m. at the Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home chapel, 200 Robinson Road, Peachtree City. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. Ken Adams.

Mr. Luther Russell Coggsdale
Mr. Luther Russell Coggsdale, 66, of Wagon Wheel Trail, Senoia, Ga., died Wednesday, July 14, 1999 at Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan.
Mr. Coggsdale was born July 26, 1932 in South Hampton, Virginia, son of the late Luther and Virginia Coggsdale. He recently retired and moved to Senoia only three months ago. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and a favorite pastime was gardening.
A funeral will be Saturday, July 17, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Franklin, Virginia. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery in Franklin, Virginia.

Mr. Edwin Dozier Craft, 80, of Jonesboro, Ga., died Thursday, July 15, 1999 after a long illness at A. G. Rhodes Convalescence Center in Atlanta.
Mr. Dozier was born Sept. 16, 1918. He was a veteran and served in World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2667 of Newnan.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 16 from 6-9 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Newnan.
