Mrs. Sweat was born September 1, 1930 in Sargent, Ga. She was a retired hotel housekeeper.
A funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan. The Rev. Floyd Tenny will officiate.
Surviving are son, Randal Braun of Newnan; sister, Gail Elrod of Brandon, FL; brother, Edsel Houseworth of Newnan; and grandson, Scott Braun of Newnan.

Mr. Barron was born March 30, 1915 in Newnan. He was the retired business manager for PAPP Clinic in Newnan. A U. S. armed forces veteran, he served in World War II. He was a member of the well-known and regarded 4th Fighter Group, 334th Squadron, Eagle Squadron.

Mr. Louis Roy Edwards, 51, of Hogansville, Ga., formerly of Franklin, Ga., died October 9, 1999 at Hospice LaGrange after several months of declining health.
Mr. Edwards was born Oct. 29, 1947 in Heard County, Ga., the son of the late Rufus Woodrow Edwards and Mattie Lou Martin Edwards. He was a much loved employee of Franklin Aluminum Company and was a Baptist by faith.
A funeral was Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the chapel of Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home in Franklin with the Rev. Talmadge Chandler and Terry Harper officiating. Vocal music selections were by Mrs. Leesa Stutts Cothran. Pallbearers were Danny Chatman, Lee Edwards, Kenny Stephens, Vince Edwards, Milton Edwards and Clay Edwards. Honorary Pallbearers were L. L. Mr. Hewlan Oscar Williams, 83, died Wednesday, October 13, 1999 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.
Mr. Williams was a long-time member of Druid Hills Methodist Church in Decatur, an accomplished organist and past treasurer of the Wesley Community Centers.
Mr. Williams' wife of 29 years, Mrs. Mattie Williams, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, oct. 15 at Jones Funeral Home in Newnan.
Mr. Williams' remains will then be taken to A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, Ga. where another visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16.

Mr. Harry E. Stephens, 73, of 56 Eaves Drive, Temple, Ga., died Saturday, October 16, 1999 at his residence. He was born April 11, 1926 in Draketown, Ga. He was a retired aluminum die corrector, a member of Draketown Baptist Church, a United States Army vetern of World War II and a member of the J. W. Akin Masonic Lodge #537 for 52 years.
He was preced in death by his wife, Laura Lumpkin Stephens, and parents, Libby Eugene and Estora Bishop Stephens.
A funeral was held Monday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Freeman Harris Funeral Home chapel in Rockmart, Ga., with the Rev. Wendell Rush, the Rev. Danny Hightower and eulogy by Mr. Harold Chambers. Burial was in Draketown Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites.

Mrs. Elmira Butler
Mrs. Elmira Butler, 98, of Newnan, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999 at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Butler was born July 21, 1901 in Washington, Ga. to Fannie Lue Hughley and Saul Bland. She was married to the late Willie Butler. Also preceding her in death were four sisters, Willie Mae, Dorothy, Florence and Mary; and two brothers, Jack and John.
She accepted Christ at an early age and upon relocating to Newnan she joined the Friendship Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member throughout her life. She was active in her community and dedicated to the Senior Citizens. She was known throughout the area by both young and old as "Aunt."
Surviving are family members the Rev. and Mrs. Rufus (Mary) Smith Sr., Fred Gartrell, Pamela Gartrell; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
A funeral will be Wednesday, Oct. 20 at Friendship Baptist Church with pastor the Rev. Felton James as eulogist, assisted by the Rev. W. J. Johnson, the Rev. Thomas Lewis and Evangelist Susie Hudson. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be members of the Deacon Board of Friendship Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jones Glover Mullally
Mrs. Jones Glover Mullally, 67, of Atlanta and formerly of Newnan, died Friday, October 15, 1999 from complications of an extended illness, at her home, The Eden Gardens.
A funeral was held Monday, Oct. 18 at St. David's Episcopal Church in Roswell, Ga. The Rev. Hendree Harrison officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.
A native of Newnan, Mrs. Mullally was the daughter of the late Thomas Jones and Lala Pate Glover. She was a beloved mother, devoted grandmother and patron of the arts.
She attended Stephen's College in Columbia, Mo. and graduated with a BFA in Interior Design from the University of Georgia. She later pursued a career in Library Science and was instrumental in establishing the Newnan-Coweta Library. She was a strong supporter of Dunaway Gardens in Newnan. Mrs. Mullally moved to Roswell in 1990 and was an active member of St. David's Episcopal Church. She had a lifelong love of art as well as literature and actively painted portraits until her health declined. "Jonesy," as she was fondly known, was a former Miss Newnan in 1952, danced with the Southern Ballet in Atlanta, and was a member of Phi Mu Sorority.
Surviving are children, Lisa (Mullally) Smith and husband Madison D. Smith, Holly (Mullally) Fortson and husband J. Phillips Fortson, and James Campbell Mullally and wife Anna K. Mullally; eight grandchildren; brother, Thomas Jones Glover Jr.; sister, Susan Glover Logan; numerous other relatives and friends.

Dr. Salvador J. "Sam" Barranco
Dr. Salvador J. "Sam" Barranco Sr., 61, of Lake Wales, Florida, and husband of Joy Mansour Barranco, formerly of Newnan, died Thursday evening, October 14, 1999 while boarding a plane at Orlando International Airport on his way to Georgia to attend a family wedding.
Dr. Barranco died instantly of a heart attack, according to Sheryl Watts, administrator for the clinic in Winter Haven that bears his hame. He founded his medical practice in Winter Haven in 1970.
Born March 6, 1938 in Lake Wales, Dr. Barranco was a lifelong resident of the area. He attended the University of Alabama where he played football for Coach Bear Bryant; and he was a Vietnam Navy Veteran. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Lake Wales, past president of the Winter Haven Rotary Club, on the board of directors of the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Lake Region Yacht and Country Club.
In 1959 he received his bachelor of science degree at the University of Alabama and went on to receive his doctor of medicine at Tulane University in 1963. He was a member of seven committees at Winter Haven Hospital and was a member of several professional associations such as the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy and the Polk County Medical Association. He was also affiliated with Columbia Bartow Memorial Hospital, Florida Hospital - Heartland, Heart of Florida Medical Center, Highland Regional Medical Center, Highlands Surgery Center, Lake Wales Medical Center, Surgery Center of Central Florida, Winter Haven Ambulatory Surgery Center and Winter Haven Hospital.
He opened his Winter Haven practice in 1970 on Avenue K Southeast. Dr. Deane Briggs joined Barranco in 1976 and the practice became Barranco and Briggs, M.D.P.A. The partners built an office overlooking Lake Howard in 1978 and in the early 1980s they were joined by Dr. Michael J. Rooney. By 1985 the practice began to expand, opening clinics elsewhere in Polk and in Sebring, Fla., and adding doctors. The clinic recently changed its name from Barranco, Briggs, Rooney, Lyle & Jimenez to the Barranco Clinic after yet another addition to the group. The clinic specializes in ear, nose and throat disorders, allergies, head and neck surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery. The practice now has offices in Lake Wales, Sebring, Haines City and Lakeland.
A Rosary service was held Sunday, Oct. 17 at St. John Catholic Church in Winter Haven, Fla. The funeral was Monday, Oct. 18, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales, Florida, and burial was in the Lake Wales cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Joy Mansour Barranco of Lake Wales; sons, Sam J. Barranco Jr. of Tampa and Christopher Mansour Barranco of Lake Wales; daughters, Lisa Antoinette Barranco of New Orleans, La. and Nicole Maria Barranco of Alexandria, Va.; brother, Anthony Joseph Barranco Jr. of Miami; mother, Fannie DeJohn Barranco, of Winter Haven.

Mr. Ricky Turner, 46, of Crawford Road, Senoia, died Tuesday, October 19, 1999 at Sun Alliance Hospice.
Mr. Turner was born May 23, 1953 in Coweta County. He was a self-employed carpenter and a veteran of the U.S. Army. A brother, Jimmy Turner, preceded him in death.

Mr. Alvin Whitlock, 83, of Baker Road, Newnan, died Tuesday, October 19, 1999 at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Whitlock was born Sept. 2, 1916 in Fayette County, Georgia, to Johnny Whitlock and Beaulah Williams Whitlock. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Georgia Department of Transportation and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Alvin Eugene Whitlock.

Mrs. Arie Dennis of 1048 Lora Smith Road, died Monday, October 18, 1999 at her residence.
She was born March 18, 1900 in Meriwether County to Arch and Rena Freeman. During her early adult life she joined St. Paul C.M.E. Church in the Lone Oak Community. She married Henry Echols and they had two children, James and Rosa. She was preceded in death by one child, Charlie Henry Jr. Later in life she married Rich Dennis.
A funeral will be Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Sharpsburg-McCollum Road, with the remains placed in state at 11:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Crawford Smith, eulogist Rev. Coleman Hayes, assisted by the Rev. Rufus Smith. Burial will be in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be close friends and family.

Mrs. Dora Elisabeth Hill LeBar, 95, of Coweta Lake Road, Newnan, died Tuesday, October 12, 1999 at Southland Nursing Home in Peachtree City, Ga.
Mrs. LeBar was born April 1, 1904 in Euclid, Ohio. She was retired from the Lake County Court System, serving in the Probate Court and the Juvenile Courts. After retirement she served as president of the Black Brook Audubon Society; she was an energetic volunteer for the Crippled Children's Society and Meals on Wheels. She was also recognized by the American Red Cross for her many hours of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Painesville. Most recently she was a member of the Palmetto United Methodist Church in Palmetto, Ga. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold W. LeBar, sister, Lea Hill Talbot, brothers Harry D. and Paul C. Hill.
A memorial service was held Friday, Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. at the Palmetto United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Grovenstein and the Rev. Mike Callahan officiating.
Surviving are her son, Daniel LeBar; daughter-in-law, Brenda Lobaugh LeBar; grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard (Terri) Tamburro, and Mr. and Mrs. Tim (Denise) LeBar; great-grandchildren, T. J. Michael, and Rachel LeBar, and Christina and Lauren Tamburro.

Mr. Frank Todd, 86, of Clayton and a former resident of Hogansville, died Wednesday, October 20, 1999 at Angel Community Hospital in Franklin, North Carolina.
Mr. Todd was born July 18, 1913 in Hogansville, son of the late Henry and Janie Daniel Todd. Before making his home in Clayton four months ago, he was a lifelong resident of Hogansville. He was retired from Uniroyal Inc. and was a deacon of Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22 in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. Jimmy Brown will officiate and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Kee Todd of Clayton, daughters, Mrs. Marie Hipp of Watkinsville and Mrs. Jane Wright of Conyers; son, Charles Todd of Clayton; sisters, Mrs. Mary Carter of Hogansville and Mrs. Virginia Bowen of Canton; brothers, Harold Todd of Hogansville, Horace Todd of Jonesboro, and James Todd of Atlanta; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Judy Phillips, 43, of Franklin died Saturday, October 23 1999 at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Phillips was born October 9, 1956, in Thomasville, Ga. She worked in at accounts receivable department at Yokogawa Corporation.
Visitation will be today, October 24, from 6 -9 p.m. A funeral will be held on Monday, October 25, at 11 a.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. The Rev. William Allen will officiate, and interment will be at Westminster Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, James Phillips; parents, Nathan Coarsey and Sarah Smith; daughter, Rhonda Hogan of Mobile, Ala.; son, Bobby Wells of Franklin; brothers Gary Coarsey of Biloxi, Miss.; Glenn and Stan Coarsey of Mobile; and Richard Coarsey of San Diego; sisters Debra Sapp of Mobile and Jeri Houston of Virginia Beach, Va.; and 9 grandchildren.
