Mr. Coursey was a native of Luthersville.

Mr. Jessie Doris Scott
Mr. Jessie D. Scott, 86, of Duchess Drive, Newnan, and formerly of Trenton, Tenn., died Sunday, October 31, 1999 at Newnan Hospital.
A retired farmer, Mr. Scott was first a Christian. He is remembered as devoted father, husband and grandfather and was a deacon at the Old Gibson Primitive Baptist Church in Trenton, Tenn. Mr. Scott was known as a Good Neighbor and Christian and made these ethics the guiding principle behind all of his business with others.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mrs. Eva Scott; and granddaughter, Susan Michelle Edwards of Newnan.
A funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 3 at Shelton Funeral Home in Trenton Tennessee.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Dimple Storey of Newnan; grandson, Steven Edwards of Puryear, Tenn.; granddaughter, Mrs. Lisa Millard of Newnan; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Edward Teagle Sr.
Mr. Edward Teagle Sr., 64, died October 29, 1999.
Mr. Teagle was born January 11, 1935 to the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Teagle Sr. He joined the Summerhill Baptist Church at an early age. He was married to Annie Grace Gates May 4, 1957 and they had six children, two of whom preceded him in death. Also later there was a special daughter who entered into his life, Olliecia.
He served as a deacon and later became chairman of the board of Summerhill Baptist Church, a post he held until his health failed.
A brother preceded him in death, Henry Teagle.
A funeral was held Monday, Nov. 1 at Summerhill Baptist Church with the Rev. J. T. Coleman, pastor and eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Julian Warner. Burial was in Summerhill Baptist Church cemetery. The Deacon Board served as pallbearers.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Grace Gates; children, Edward Teagle Jr., Bobby Teagle, Roger Teagle and Patricia Teagle; brothers, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Mrs. Annie L. Truitt, 70, died Friday, October 29, 1999 after an extended illness.
She was born in Newnan, Ga. May 13, 1929 to the late Marietta Brown Aycock and the late Elijah Aycock. She was married to Charles Truitt of Atlanta and they had one daughter.
A funeral was held Monday, Nov. 1 at Sellers-Smith R.W.S. Chapel at 1 p.m. Eulogist was the Rev. Clinton Melson, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Lee Hendricks. The remains will be cremated.

Mr. Geneva Murray Woods
Mr. Geneva Murray Woods, 84, of Thomas Powers Road, Newnan, died October 29, 1999 at Newnan Hospital.
Also known as "Papa" to his grandchildren, he was the husband of Willie Mendora Woods. Mr. Woods was born June 25, 1915 in the Handy Community to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Alexander Woods. He grew up in Handy and became a member of Elim Baptist Church at a young age. He was a true sportsman, enjoying to hunt, fish and farm. He married the former Willie Mendora Long May 7, 1938. He later joined the United States Army and served in World War II. After returning from the military, he was employed at William L Bonnell Company in Newnan and retired in 1978 after 25 years service. One daughter preceded him in death.
A funeral will be Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Sellers-Smith R.W.S. Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Oliver L. Wood presideing, and the Rev. J. L. Hendricks as eulogist. Assisting will be Evangelist Susie Hudson and the Rev. Billy B. Avery. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden on Roscoe Road. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. William Joseph Calhoun Sr., 75, of Newnan died October 28, 1999 at his residence.
Mr. Calhoun was born May 15, 1924 in Newnan. He attended Warner High School and then served in the United States Navy.
A funeral was held Monday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. at Burns United Methodist Church in Newnan. The Rev. Gregory Williams officiated, assisted by the Rev. Crofford Smith, the Rev. Donald Barber and Pastor Ken Taylor. Burial was in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were the Burns United Methodist Men and family friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Addie Belle Florence Calhoun and three brothers, Eddie, Henry and Madison Calhoun.
Surviving are four children, Mr. Morris (Estella) Florence, Mr. William Joseph (Ingrid) Calhoun, Dr. Robert (Sandra) Calhoun and Mrs. Mary Frances (Leonard O.) Mrs. Martha Merritt Cole
Mrs. Martha Merritt Cole, widow of Madison Filmore Cole, died Monday, November 1, 1999 in Newnan.
Mrs. Cole was born June 22, 1920 in Nashville, Tennessee. Her family moved to Huntsville, Alabama and later to Atlanta where she graduated from Washington Seminary. Mrs. Cole also was a graduate of Mount Vernon College. She married Madison Cole, "Matt," in 1943 and they lived all of their married life in Newnan where her husband worked in the family textile business and later in the insurance business. She was a member of the Atlanta Junior League, the Piedmont Driving Club and the Capital City Club.
A family graveside service will be held in Newnan on Wednesday, Nov. 3, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. at Newnan First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Parrish, the Rev. Terry Thompkins and Dr. Gil Watson officiating.
Surviving are her son, Madison Filmore Cole Jr., his wife, Sharon Jones Cole, and their children, Martha Willis Cole and Lewis Bradford Cole, all of Atlanta; sister, Sara Merritt Brentnall of Atlanta; brother, William Eaton Merritt of Florida and Mexico.
The family will greet friends at the church after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Wesleyan School, 5405 Spalding Drive, Norcross, Ga. in memory of Madison and Martha Cole.

Mr. Elijah Dunnum Jr., 36, of Newnan, died October 31, 1999 at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital.
Mr. Dunnum was born August 19, 1963 in Coweta County. A member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, he served on the Junior Usher Board and was a member of the Youth Choir. He was also active in the Youth Department, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. He attended the Coweta County Public Schools and was a 1981 honor graduate of Newnan High School. He furthered his education at Atlanta Area Technical School, receiving an associate degree in computer information systems in 1985 and a diploma with honors in automotive servicing in 1999. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1985-1989.
A funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Newnan, with the Rev. W. J. Johnson officiating, assisted by Dr. Hamp Long, the Rev. Clifford Davis and the Rev. Larry Evans. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery. Cousins will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Mary E. York Moore, 95, of Newnan, died October 28, 1999 at Southland Nursing Home in Peachtree City.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the First Calvary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Thompson, one sister, Allie Smith and three brothers, Charlie, Andy and Frank York.
A funeral was held Monday, Nov. 1 at the Highway 58 chapel of Turner Funeral Homes in Chattanooga, Tennessee with Judge Clarence Shattuck and the Rev. Hilton Estes officiating. Burial was in Lakewood East Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Rebecca Ball Brewster, 75, died November 1, 1999 at Newnan Hospital.
Mrs. Ball was a contract administrator for the Federal Government for 31 years before retirement. A quiet lady who did not like attention, was a Christian and a Baptist by faith. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and aunt.
A funeral service was held at graveside in Oak Hill Cemetery Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dwight L. Moody officiating.
Surviving are her husband, Mr. Robert Thomas Brewster; son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie and Angela Ball; grandson, Master Tinsley Hope Ball.

Mrs. Alice Biggers Davis, 75, of Pensacola, Fla. and a former resident of Greenville, Ga., died Saturday, October 30, 1999 at her home.
Mrs. Davis was born August 8, 1924, daughter of the late Willis and Beulah Biggers. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Willis A. Biggers Jr.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, at the Greenville Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Lucius "Luke" Emerson Mullins, 69, of Eastside School Road, Senoia, died Wednesday, November 3, 1999 at Parkway Medical Center in Cobb County.
Mr. Mullins was born in Butts County, the son of the late Julian Emerson Mullins and th late Mattie Mae Thornton. He was a disabled Veteran and was of the Baptist faith.
A funeral will be Saturday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Haisten-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Griffin. The Rev. Bill Dean will officiate. Burial will follow in Senoia City Cemetery.

Mr. Edgar Smith "Jack" Greer, 74, of Glenmar Drive, Newnan, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Greer was born May 6, 1925 in Atlanta, Ga. to the late Edgar Smith Greer Sr. and Elizabeth Coggier Greer. He was a retired forester and district manager for Hiawasse Land Company. He was a U.S. veteran, having served in World War II and Korea. He served as a combat engineer and was with the Flying Tigers. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Newnan.
A funeral will be Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan. Dr. Gene Tyre will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan. Pallbearers will be Camp Embry, Gene Hill, Hugh Maddux, Pat Sheppard, Marshall Cauthen, Kerry Elliot and Clay Fagen. Honorary pallbearers will be John Corbin and John Reed.
