Mrs. Nellie Mae (Knight) Barrett, 87, of the Colonial Guest House, Franklin, Ga., died Sunday, January 16, 2000 at Franklin Health Care Center after several years of declining health.
A funeral was Monday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home in Franklin with the Rev. Monroe Glass officiating. Music was rendered by Mrs. Nell Barrett. Pallbearers were Chuchy Barrett, Darrin Mitchell, Robbie Looney, Sam Glaze, Jeff Jones and Joseph Jones. Burial was in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Mrs. Barrett was born in Randolph County, Alabama June 30, 1912 to the late Jess Knight and Ray Bonner Knight. She was a retired textile worker. She was the wife of the late Roy Barrett.
Surviving are her children, Mr. Roger and Mrs. Nell Barrett of Franklin; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie King and Mrs. Bernice Pike, both of LaGrange, Ga.; and one brother, Mr. Edward "Diz" Barrett of Tennessee.

Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Christine Drake Martin, 82, of Franklin, Ga., formerly of Moreland, Ga., were held Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin.
The Rev. Doctor Charlie Drake officated. Music was provided by Leesa Stutts Cothran. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.
Pallbearers were Don Jones, Dee Stewart, Josh Gowens, Stephens Hayes, Josh Weigel and Lamar Melson.
Mrs. Martin was born August 8, 1918 to the late Dan Drake, and Eula McClendon Drake. She was also predeceased by her husband James Newton Martin.
Mrs. Martin was a Coweta County native. She was retired from Newnan Hospital where she was a Licensed Practical Nurse. For the last eight years Mrs. Martin had resided in Heard County. She was a member of the White Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Anne Gowens of Franklin and Anita Hayes of Mableton, Ga.; sisters, Nora Beckham of Gainesville, Ga., Inez Spencer of McDonough, Ga., Alene Haynes of Sandersville, Ga. and Eleanor Melson of Norcross, Ga.; brothers, Doris Drake of Newnan, T. L. Drake of Sharpsburg, and Alvin Drake of Valdosta, Ga.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Sexton was born November 22, 1941 in Talladega, Ala. to James Sexton and Jesse Mask Sexton. He was a retired truck driver.
A funeral will be at Hillcrest Chapel in Newnan Saturday, Jan. 22 at 4 p.m. with the Rev. James Burdette officiating.

Mr. John Jefferson Thrower Jr., 54, of Little Creek Drive, Sharpsburg, Ga. died Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at Emory University Hospital.
Mr. Thrower was born March 4, 1945 in Troup County, Ga. He was a retired educator.
He attended Troup County High School and graduated from West Georgia College in 1970, majoring in history. He earned a Master's in Education from West Georgia in 1972 and a Specialist in Administration from West Georgia in 1987. He coached at Upson County High School for nine years and coached boys basketball at East Coweta High School for 10 years.
The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 21, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan.
A funeral will be at Community Christian Church Saturday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ed Martin officating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial cemetery.

Mrs. Martha Midas, 85, of Newnan, died on her birthday, Thursday, January 20, 2000.
Mrs. Midas lived most of her life in Lansford, Pennsylvania, but recently moved to the Georgian Place in Newnan to be close to her family.
In her home town of Lansford, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Midas was an active participant of St. Michael's Catholic Church. An active disciplined person, Mrs. Midas was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, a homemaker and seamstress, belonging to the International Ladies Garment Workers Union for 21 years, a "Grass Roots" activist as a Democratic Party committee woman for many years and a past president and longtime member of the Lansford Democratic Club, and a past Second State Vice-President of the Supreme Forest Woodman Circle.
She is predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Mr. Michael Thomas Midas Sr.
Visitation was held Friday evening, Jan. 21, at Jones Funeral Home in Newnan. Mrs. Midas was transported to Lansford, Pennsylvania where a visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23 at the Skrabak-Porambo Funeral Home, Lansford, Pennsylvania. The funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Lansford, Pennsylvania with Father Tom Derzack officiating. Burial will be in Sky-View Memorial Park.

The Rev. Jerry Troy Caldwell, 60, of Roopville, died Jan. 19, 2000, at Tanner Medical Center.
Rev. Caldwell was born July 3, 1939, in Heard County. The son of the late Paul Ardon and Annie Burma Rogers Caldwell, he was a retired self-employed building contractor and a Baptist minister. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Villa Rica.
A funeral was held Jan. 21 at Macedonia Baptist Church. The Rev. Monroe Wiggins and the Rev. Barry Golden officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery. Music was provided by the Rev. Ted Clay and the Rev. Paul Mathews. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Spradlin and Daniel, Billy, Timothy, William and Douglass Dewayne Caldwell.

Mrs. Brewster was born May 27, 1915. A homemaker and member of First Baptist Church, she taught the three-year-olds Sunday School class for 40 years.

Mr. Dudley J. Lambert Jr., 82, of Palmetto, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000.
Mr. Lambert was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a longtime member of the Palmetto United Methodist Church and Palmetto Masonic Lodge 74 F & AM. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amanda Leigh Lambert.

Mrs. Durden was born Nov. 19, 1917 in LaGrange, Ga., daughter of the late Arnold and Verdie Wells Crisler. She lived in Hogansville most of her life and retired after owning and operating a beauty shop for many years. She was the wife of the late John Lloyd Durden.

Mrs. Gaulding was born July 9, 1914 in Troup County, daughter of the late John Kirkland Ayres and the late Lilla Lester Ayers. She lived in Troup County all of her life, was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, and owned and operated Gaulding Beauty Shop in Harrisonville for 26 years before her retirement. She was the wife of the late J. Clinton Gaulding.
A funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 at graveside in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. The Rev. Gary Parrish and the Rev. Wayne Hester will officiate.

Mrs. Lambert was born September 2, 1915 in Harris County, Ga. to Walter Quinton Alexander and Sarah Ester Claiborn. She was a registered nurse and was nurse for the Coweta County School System. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newnan.

Mr. Calvin C. McEachern, 87, of Newnan, died Saturday, January 22, 2000 at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan, Ga.
Mr. McEachern was born August 11, 1912 in Fayette County to Claude Archer McEachern and the former Annie Vera Harris. He was a retired textile worker and concrete form setter. He was a member of Victory Tabernacle Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Wilson, and great-grandchild Michael Milam.
A funeral was held at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home in Newnan Monday, Jan. 24 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Milton Winslett officiating, assisted by the Rev. Terry Calhoun. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. John Patten "Pat" Roquemore, 48, of Glen Eagle Drive, Byron, Ga., died Thursday, January 27, 2000 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Roquemore was born June 11, 1951 in Lakeland, Ga. He was a retired electrical engineer. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam conflict. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, was a former adult and youth church teacher and was a lay minister for a local nursing home. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a former member of the Bethel Baptist Church, both of Warner Robins, Ga. His father, William A. Roquemore preceded him in death.

Mr. Caldwell was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Newnan. He was retired from his job as an owner/operator of Caldwell Heating and Air Conditioning in Newnan. He attended the Ozella Community Baptist Church in Crystal River, and was a member of Moreland's Bigham Mason Lodge #53. He moved to Crystal River from Senoia in 1988, and was preceded in death by his sons Randy and Coleman Caldwell.

Mrs. Buchanan was born Aug. 12, 1909, to the late James. W. and Bell Elizabeth Johnson Ward. A homemaker and a Methodist, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Buchanan.
