Mr. Ernest Baxter Cary, 88, died Tuesday, March 21, 2000 at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Cary was born April 14, 1911. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Banjamin Cary of Charlotte, N.C. Mr. Cary graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in electrical engineering. His career was spent with General Motors as superintendent of engineering in the Chevrolet division. He was past-president of the Lion's Club of Dunwoody, Ga. He was a member and elder of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in Dunwoody and Rock Springs Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Ga.
He had lived in Newnan, Ga. for the past two years and had joined the First Baptist Church of Newnan.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Estes Cary; step-daughter, Genet Heery Barron (and her husband Lindsey); daughter-in-law Marguerite Moss Heery of Athens; brother, General Victor Cary (and wife Alice) of Houston, Texas; four step-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Norman Cary and Mrs. Aubrey Cary along with several nieces and nephews.
Dr. Eugene Tyre and Dr. Moss Robertson will officiate at a funeral Thursday, March 23 at 3 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. prior to the funeral hour.

Mr. Robert O. Durnwald
Mr. Robert O. Durnwald, 67, of Whitesburg, Ga., died Monday, March 20, 2000 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Ga.
Mr. Durnwald retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1972, as a senior master sergeant, after 21 years of service. He served in both Korea and Vietnam, where he received the Bronze Star. He was proud of the "wings" he had earned, and he enjoyed his flight status. He was also a manager for more than 17 years for Motorola, Inc. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, and loved to travel, especially on cruises.
His parents, Alfred A. and Cecilia K. Durnwald, and a brother, William Durnwald, precede hime in death.
The family received friends Wednesday evening, March 22 at Jones Funeral Home in Newnan, and a prayer service was held at 7 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23 at St. George Catholic Church in Newnan, with the Rev. Leo Herbert officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road, Newnan. The U.S. Airforce Honor Guard will render full military honors.

Mrs. Willie C. Hill, 54, of Second Avenue, Newnan, died Friday, March 17, 2000 at Fayette Community Hospital in Fayetteville, Ga.
Mrs. Hill was born in Coweta County. She joined the Dent Chapel A.M.E. Church at an early age and was a faithful member until her death. She married Lewis Hill, and they had seven children, two of whom preceded her in death.
A funeral was 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 21 at Dent Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. W. A. Williams, pastor, and the Rev. Grady Vaughn officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. W. Russell Sr. and the Rev. J. W. Russell Jr. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends served as pallbearers.

Mr. Ted Godfrey, 61, of Newnan and formerly of Smyrna, Ga., died Tuesday, March 21, 2000.
Mr. Godfrey was a native of Cobb County, Ga. and a member of Welcome Grove Baptist Church in Smyrna.

Mr. James Howard Mitchell
Mr. James Howard Mitchell died Sunday, March 19, 2000.
Mr. Mitchell was the second child of 13 and was born September 8, 1946 to the late Gennie Robert Mitchell and Juanita J. Mitchell. At an early age he joined the Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church. He attended and graduated from Central High School in Newnan in the class of 1964, and later served in the U.S. Army. He was formerly married to Sandra J. Mitchell and Sandra Reese. He rendered great services to the community and his family. He worked for the Dundee Mills, Mitchell Brothers Contractors and later started his own business, Universal Grading company, which he operated until his health failed.
A funeral will be Friday, March 24 at 2 p.m. at Sellers-Smith R.W.S. Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clifford Davis officiating, assisted by the Rev. Joe Geter, the Rev. Hulon Kemp, and the Rev. R. W. Sutton. Burial will be in the Wadley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Corinth, Ga. Pallbearers will be classmates of the Central High School Class of 1964.

Mr. Frank Martin Adams, 60, of 24 Bunny Trail, Carrollton, Ga., died Thursday, March 23, 2000 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.
Mr. Adams was born January 18, 1940 in Carroll County, Ga. to the late Charles A. Adams and Mammie Phillips Adams. He was retired from the U.S. Navy after attaining the rank of Senior Chief. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Charles R. Adams, Ray Adams and Kenneth Adams.
A funeral will be Saturday, March 25 at 11 a.m. at Martin and Hightower West Center Street Chapel in Carrollton with the Rev. Clifford DeLee and the Rev. Donal Spradlin officiating. Music will be rendered by Donald Spradlin and Shelia Milam. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Eastern time at Community Baptist Church Cemetery in LaFayette, Alabama, with full military honors.

Sister Marie Britt was born February 6, 1936 in Fayette County, Ga. to Wilson and the late Louise Britt. She joined the Liberty Hill A.M.E. Church at an early age where she attended faithfully until her move to Rye, New York with the Ferris family. She was a devoted and loving employee to the Ferris' for many years.

Mr. Mayner was born October 10, 1923 in Meriwether County. He was a member of the Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Gay, Ga.

Mrs. Louise Miller Cole, 92, of Newnan, died Friday, March 24, 2000.
Mrs. Cole was born Jan. 25, 1908, in Newnan. She was the second daughter of Corille Hardaway and Tom Jones Fisher. A graduate of Newnan High School, she attended Hollins College in Roanoke, Va. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority and Central Baptist Church.
A funeral will be held today, March 26, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church. Dr. Joel Richardson will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Donald J. "Pop" Ruehle
Mr. Donald J. Ruehle, 80, of Newnan, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Ruehle was a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II, and later served in the Michigan National Guard. An avid sports fan, he attended Michigan State University, and was a member of the Legion of Leaders of Chevrolet Motor Division.
A graveside service will be held Monday, March 27, 2000, at 4 p.m. at Crawfordville Baptist Church in Crawfordville, Ga. The Rev. James C. Elder will officiate. The family will receive visitors today, March 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home.

Mr. Domineck was born July 21, 1978, in Fulton County to Mrs. Marilyn Domineck Waldon and Mr. Romalus West. He attended Arkwright Elementary, Sylvan Middle, and D. M. Therrell High School.

Mr. Troy Rudolph White, 71, of Franklin, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. White was born June 25, 1928, in Heflin Ala. to the late Matthew and Ola Wade White. He lived in Hogansville most of his life, and moved to Franklin in 1984. A retired worker for Uniroyal, Inc., he was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and the Hogansville Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by a son, Doyle White.
A funeral will be held today, March 26, at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Hogansville. The Revs. Wesley Boatman, R. C. Prescott, and Ed White will officiate, and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be J.C. Mr. Lamar Arnold, 36, of Chattanooga, Tenn. died March 24, 2000 in Tennessee.
Mr. Arnold was born February 17, 1964 in Newnan, Coweta County, Ga. to the late Mr. Seaborn Arnold and Mrs. Neomia Hickson. Arnold was the youngest of 16 children. He joined Ebenezer Baptist Church at an early age. He was a faithful member on the Usher Board and in the choir. He attended and graduated from Newnan High School, where he was on the football team.
He later married Gwendolyn Hall. he held numerous jobs with restaurants and construction companies around the Newnan; Jackson, Ga.; and Chattanooga, Tennessee areas. While living in Newnan, He attended South Newnan Church of Christ, and after moving to Chattanooga he attended Alton Park Church of Christ. He diligently taught his children the doctrine of christianity.
A funeral will be Tuesday, March 28 at 1 p.m. at Sellers-Smith R. W. S. Memorial Chapel with Brother James W. Arnold officiating, assisted by Brother Bobby William, Brother George Teddler, Brother Havest Johnson, Brother Henderson and the Rev. Capt. Allen C. Sickel
Captain Allen C. Sickel, 58, of Newnan, Ga. died Saturday, March 25, 2000.
He was the son of the late Allen A. Sickel. Capt. Sickel retired from Delta Airlines after 26 years of service, he also flew with pride the F-4 fighter plane in the United States Air Force, and was a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family will recieve friends from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29 at the McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, Ga.
Capt. Sickel is survived by his wife Claire Sickel of Newnan; daughters, Kathryn, Jeanne and Meredith; step-children, Kim Barr and Brian Preto; two grandchildren Michael and Audrey; his mother, Billie Adcock and a brother James Sickel. He leaves behind many supporters and friends from the Atlanta Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

Mrs. Hayes was born April 4, 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Hayes. She was a member of Kenwood Baptist Church.

Mrs. Beatrice Jesse Buser, 87, of Newnan, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.
Mrs. Buser was born July 30, 1912 in New York, NY. She was retired and was a homemaker.
A funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1 at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan. Father Leo P. Herbert will officiate and burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.

Mrs. Ruby Vaughn Phillips-Davis died March 26, 2000 at Emory Medical Center.
A funeral was Wednesday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Herman H. Dyer officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dana Graham, the Rev. R. W. Sutton and Evangelist Susie Hudson. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery. The Deacon Board and family members served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Phillips-Davis was the fourth child of 13 born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell (Edith "Eddie") Vaughn (West) on March 17, 1912. She was married to Hugh Phillips and they had a daughter, Ms. Ruby Kate Phillips. Later she married Mr. Pearcy Davis.
Mrs. Davis, who was better known as "Big Mama" and "Cousin Ruby" to family and friends, devoted her life to Christ. She served as a faithful servant at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church as a member of the Radiant Rainbow Auxiliary.
Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Eddie B. Mrs. Dolly Mae Hutson, 80, of Floyd Road, Newnan, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000 at Newnan Hospital.
Mrs. Hutson was born November 27, 1919 in Carroll County, Ga., to the late Cliff and Hattie Mae Drake Smith. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents a sister, Marth Jean Rainey, preceded her in death.
A funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday, March 30 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Fleming and the Rev. Roy Lee Coggin officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road, Newnan.

Mr. Raiford Glover Wiles, 81, of Lawrenceville, Ga., died March 29, 2000.
A funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 31 at Bill Head Funeral Home Duluth Chapel with Dr. Bob Bowling and Dr. David Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan with Dr. James Harper officiating.
Mr. Wiles, a native of Newnan, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Pacific Theatre, and retired with 30 years of civil service. He served as Third Army sports director at Fort McPherson.
He helped organize and was a charter member of Atlanta Baseball Umpires Association, Atlanta Basketball Referees Association and the Hospital Auxiliary of Gwinnett Medical Center where he served more than 2,500 hours. He was a member of Berkmar United Methodist Church and Top of Georgia Airstream Club.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nelle Walker Wiles, his brother, Fred Wiles and his wife of more than 52 years, Margaret McIntosh Wiles.
He is survivied by daughter and son-in-law, Margie Ann and Jeffrey S. Jones of Duluth, Ga.; granddaughter Jennifer Lauren Jones of Palmetto, Ga.; grandson, Michael Raiford Jones of Duluth, Ga.; sisters and brothers/ sisters-in-law; Margaret and Wayne Burnette of Doraville, Ga., Virginia and Roy Knox of Newnan, Evelyn Wiles of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Pauline McIntosh Wright of Douglasville, Ga., and Edna McIntosh Burdette of Riverdale, Ga.; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, friends and neighbors.
