Mrs. Annie H. Mattox, a native of Mobile, Ala. and a resident of Fairhope, Ala., died Wednesday, May 10, 2000 in Newnan, Ga.
Mrs. Mattox was a member of Old Spanish Fort Baptist Church and active in Christian ministry and outreach.

Mrs. Young was born July 27, 1929 in York, Ala., daughter of the late William Earl and Ruby Jane Bishop. She worked for C&S Bank, NationsBank and Bank of America for a total of 36 years.
She was the widow of John H. Young.

Mr. Savich was born April 29, 1941, in Chicago, Ill, to Bessie Grahovac Savich and the late Michael Savich, Sr. He was a Vietnam veteran, and of the Greek Orthodox faith. An industrial engineer, he had worked at Playtex Apparel in Newnan and Coloplast in Marietta.

Mr. Vernon Dyer Judy, 80, of Franklin, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Emory University Hospital.
Mr. Judy was born June 11, 1919, in Rough Run, W. Va., to the late Ervin Lester and Effie Myrtle Hendrick Judy. He had lived in Heard County, where he was a pipe fitter and farmer, for over 50 years. A Lutheran, Mr. Judy served in the United States Army in World War II in the European theater. Mr. Judy was awarded the Purple Heat, the Good Conduct Medal, and Army Occupational Medal, Germany European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Medal.
A memorial service for "Mr. Vernon" will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at 2 p.m. in the the chapel of the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home in Franklin. The Rev. Rick McMahan will officiate, and the family will receive visitors on Monday from 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Hines was born the fourth child to the late Alvin and Dorothy Jones on August 29, 1941 in Grantville, Ga. At an early age she joined John Wesley United Methodist Church. She worked faithfully until her health failed. For years she worked at the Grantville Mill and Beaulieu Convalescent Center. "Granny" was how she was affectionately known by her grandchildren.
Surviving are daughters Tracie and Sheronda; son, Winstone (Maurice, preceded her in death); brother, Alfonso and Shirley Jones; sister, Eugene and Nancy Elder; four grandchildren, Ashley, Tarell, Kaneshia and Anthony; ten nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Hazel Loise Liesman, 83, formerly of 37 College Street, Newnan, died May 12 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital, Culpeper, Virginia.

Mrs. Liesman was a member of Newnan's Zion Lutheran Church for 13 years. She worked 25 years as a licensed practical nurse. She lived in Newnan with her daughter, Cheryl Kindred and son-in-law, Dave Kindred.

Mr. Terry Lee Nelms, 56, of Franklin, Ga., died suddenly Friday, May 5, 2000 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Mr. Nelms was born in Heard County, Ga., May 2, 1944, to the late Fannie Mae Shelnutt Nelms. He was a life-long resident of Heard County, and an active member of the New Life Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Nelms was employed by Atlanta Gas Company as a residential marketing representative.
A funeral was Monday, May 8 at 3 p.m. at New Life Baptist Church with the Reverends Quinnon Duncan, Mike Reeves and Mark Paschal officiating. Music was provided by the Rev. Surviving besides his mother, Bessie Grahovac Savich, are his wife Patricia Helton Savich; daughters, Tabitha Orr and her husband Rucker, Kassie Scott and her husband Jonathan; grandchildren, Lindsey Renee Orr and Zachary Robert Savich; mother-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn Harper Helton; sister-in-law, Glenda Alexander Helton, all of Newnan; a brother-in-law, Leon Hammond of Tennessee; nieces and nephews.
A funeral was Monday, May 15 at 4 p.m. at the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Wilson officiating. Pallbearers will be David Hensley, Buddy McCoy, Paul Thebuge, Chris Hammond, Tim Hammond and Richard Grahovac. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Allene L. Stanford, 67, of Old Mountain Road, Bremen, Ga., died May 14, 2000.
Mrs. Stanford was born May 14, 1933 in Haralson, County, Ga., daughter of the late Homer Lambert and Ludie McWhorter Lambert.
Surviving are her husband, Ike W. Stanford Jr. of Bremen, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Stanford of Bremen, Sandra and Dale Nix of Bremen, Ga., Susan and Steve Butler of Peachtree City, Ga. and Lisa and Kenneth Hopkins of Cedartown, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike Stanford of Vinings, Ga., David and Barbara Stanford of Brooks, Ga., Jerry and Kelly Stanford of Fayetteville, Ga. and Peter Stanford of Ogden, Utah; sisters, Bernice Harper of Rome, Ga., Mozelle Shepherd of Bremen, Ga., Mary Smith of Bremen, Ga. and Peggy Moody of Carrollton, Ga.; brothers, Ralph Lambert of Atlanta, Ga. and Clarence Lambert of Cumming, Ga.; 17 grandchildren.
A funeral will be Wednesday, May 17 at 2 p.m. from Bremen First Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Moore officiating. Music will be provided by Hugh McGraw and Sue Ezzell. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Smith, James Smith, Roy Andrews, Janson Dailey, Brandon Butler and Adam Stanford. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. David Merrill Couch, 74, of Newnan, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center.
Mr. Couch was born July 23, 1925 in Coweta County. He worked in the plumbing and electrical field.
A funeral will be Thursday, May 18 at 2 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. John Evans and the Rev. Fred Shelnutt officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Velma Hanners "Cindy" McGill, 69, of Macon, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000 at her home.
A funeral will be Friday, May 19, 2000 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Donald R. McGaha will officiate and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Mrs. McGill was born February 3, 1931 in Heard County, daughter of the late Harrison and Eva Powell Hanners. She had lived in the Macon area since 1968 and retired from Robins Air Force Base as an avionics technician.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Lee Ownby of Atlanta and Sylvia Lynn McGill of Macon; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael L. McGill and Jeffrey L. and Christy S. McGill, all of Macon; brother, Jesse O. Hanners of Hogansville; four grandchildren, Jason Ownby and Justin Ownby, both of Atlanta, Anneliese Newberry of Lizella, and Stephanie O'Neal of Macon; and one great-granddaughter, Isabel Newberry of Lizella.
