Mrs. Agnes Burke Brawner, 84, of Hogansville, died Saturday, July 29, 2000 at her home.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 1 in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. Jimmy Brown will officiate, and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Mrs. Brawner was born June 15, 1916 in LaGrange, daughter of the late William Thomas Tucker and the late Rilla Hall Tucker. She lived in Hogansville most of her life, was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville, and was a former member of the American Legion Auxillary in Hogansville. She retired from Uniroyal Inc. after more than 40 years of service.
Surviving are her son, James Burke of Suwanee; grandson, James Burke Jr. of Grovetown, Maryland; two great-grandchildren, Julia Burke and Joel Burke, both of Grovetown; a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. George Emory Bridges, 75, of Meridian Drive, Newnan, died Sunday, July 30, 2000 at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan.
Mr. Bridges was born June 25, 1925 in Meriwether County, Ga. to James Clemons Bridges and Lena Massengale. He was a retired carpenter and store owner.
A funeral will be Tuesday, August 1 at Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Lassetter officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Richard J. Calistri, 75, of Newnan, died at Newnan Hospital Monday morning, July 31, 2000.
Mr. Calistri was born in Ithica, New York to Vasco and Loretta Calistri. After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Philosophy, Mr. Calistri spent most his life as a newspaper correspondent and editor in Washington, D. C. where he later became the editor and president of the "Labor Newspaper," a media devoted to labor unions and their movements. As a dedicated and outspoken labor rights activist who spent his life educating and informing fellow union members of their rights, he was often invited to the White House for meetings with Presidents and other government officials. A veteran of two tours of duty in the U.S. Army, Mr. Calistri saw duty in the European theatre during WWII. After retiring from what many call a brilliant newspaper career, he returned to Georgia and settled in Newnan where he attended St. George's Catholic Church.
A cousin, Mr. Gene Lively of Newnan, survives him.
A memorial wake will be held in his remembrance at 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, at Jones Funeral Home in Newnan with Father Leo Herbert officiating.

Mrs. Mildred Mary Carter
Mrs. Mildred Mary Carter, 85, of Newnan, formerly of Fayetteville, died Sunday morning, July 30, 2000 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.
Born to Ellis and Wreatha Mitchell in Wayne County, Illinois, Mrs. Carter Married Mr. Clifton Carter in 1935. Mrs. Carter, a hero to her granddaughter, grew up in Allbion, Illinois where she raised two daughters, one of whom died as a teenager. There she managed the family grocery business for many years, moving to Georgia in the late 1970s to be near her family. After settling in Fayetteville, she became a member of the Fayetteville United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Mildred Carter is predeceased by her husband of many years, Mr. Clifton L. Carter and her daughter, Miss Susan Elaine Carter.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Mary Kay Jowers of Newnan, Ga.; sisters, Mrs. Helen Ayers and Mrs. Thellis Mitchell of Evansville, Indiana; granddaughter, Mrs. Emily Pittman and grandson, Zachary Williams, both of Newnan, Ga.
A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Carter at 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, August 1, at Jones Funeral Home in Newnan with the Rev. Gary Parrish officiating.

Mrs. Dove was born Sept. 3, 1928 in Heard County and was employed by the Board of Education for many years.

Mr. Gene Kull, 77, of Hogansville, Ga., died Saturday, July 29, 2000 at Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Kull was born September 15, 1922 in Morgan County, Ala., and lived in Decatur before making his home in Hogansville in 1988. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and received the Navy and Marine Medal for herosim in the Bay of Algiers in 1943. He was a member of E. A. Minor Masonic Lodge #603 in DeKalb County, was a retired welder and was a member of East Point Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida Mae Hay Kull of Hogansville; three daughters, Mrs. Pamela K. Hay of Hogansville, Mrs. Priscilla Moseley of Lilburn and Mrs. Cynthia K. Martin-Mink of Jefferson; two sons, George E. Kull of Acworth and Kenneth C. Kull of Canton; mother, Mrs. Mattie L. Kull of East Point; brother, Louis C. Kull of Conyers; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Dr. Evan W. Molyneaux, 92, of Hogansville, died Sunday, July 30, 2000 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Ga.
A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 3, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville. Dr. Don Jolly, the Rev. Judson Jackson and Mr. Mike Johnson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Dr. Molyneux was born November 11, 1907 in Hills Grove, Penn., son of the late Robert and Pearl Ingersoll Molyneaux. He was a graduate of Houghton College and the University of Buffalo Medial School. He served in the Army Medical Corps during WWII and received a Bronze Star for his service in maintaining a field hopsital following the Normandy invasion.
A Troup County physician for more than 50 years, Dr. Molyneaux had lived in Hogansville and LaGrange since 1946. He was a member of the Troup County Medical Society, the Georgia Medial Association, and served as medical director for the Brian Center and the Royal Elaine Nursing Homes in LaGrange for many years. In 1998, he was named Physician of the Year by the Clark-Holder Clinic of LaGrange in recognition of his many years of service to the community.
Dr. Molyneaux was a member and Elder of Ebenezer Presbyterian Churchin Hogansville, was a former member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange, and was a former member of the Hogansville and LaGrange Kiwanis Clubs. He was a member of the American Legion and was a long-time volunteer for the Troup County Unit of the American Cancer Society. Along with his family he established and operated Flat Creek Ranch in Hogansville.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Yvonne Bledsoe and Mrs. Joan Keegan, both of Hogansivlle and Dr. Miki Jackson of Alexandria, Virginia; son, Richard Molyneaux of Hogansville; brother, Silas Molyneaux of Lockport, NY; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
It is the desire of the family that flowers be omitted. Contributions in memory of Dr. Molyneaux may be made to the Troup County Unit of the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Jessie Mae Andrew Brown, 92, of Grantville, Ga. died Sunday, July 30, 2000 at her residence.
A funeral will be Thursday, August 3, 2000 at Greater Jehovah Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Billy Joe Glanton officiating, assisted by the Rev. Joe P. Geter, the Rev. Kenneth Curtis and the Rev. Walter McMullen. Burial will be in Grantville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandsons, flower bearers will be granddaughters, honorary flower bearers will be the ushers of Greater Jehovah Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brown was born in Crawfordville, Ga. December 24, 1908 to Mr. and Mrs. John Andrew (Carrie Lou). She was married to Robert Lee Brown Sr. who preceded her in death. They had seven children, and Mrs. Brown also raised her sister-in-law, Maggie Stepp.
Her Christian work began early in life. She was a truly dedicated Christian, which was shown by the love given freely to family, church, friends and community. She joined John Wesley Methodist Church initially, and later in life she transferred her membership to Greater Jehovah Baptist Church in order to be with her husband. She served faithfully until her death.
Surviving are her sister-in-law Maggie Stepp; children Jessie Lee Moody, Mary Elizabeth Trammell (William), Sarah Middlebrooks (Samuel), Rosa Wilkerson (Robert), Hazel Jackson (Levi), Robert Brown (Doris), Martha Patterson (Roy); 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Infant Campbell Jude Cole was stillborn on Thursday, July 27, 2000 at South Fulton Medical Center in East Point, Georgia.
Infant Cole, the first child of Mary Melinda Campbell and Brannon Joe Cole of Palmetto, was born 12 weeks premature. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Woods Campbell.
A graveside service was held Sunday, July 30, 2000, at Concord City Cemetery in Concord, Georgia. The Rev. Mike White officiated, and music was provided by Robert Crook and Sarah Campbell.

Mrs. Caroline Keith Poole, of Sharpsburg, formerly of Atlanta, died Tuesday, August 1 at her residence.
A native of Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late Stonewall Jackson and Mary Teresa Kries Keith. Mrs. Poole was a homemaker and the widow of the late Forrest Campbell Poole Sr. A member of St. George Catholic Church of Newnan, Mrs. Poole had attended St. John Newman Catholic Church in Lilburn.
Surviving are her children, Paul and Rebecca Poole, Forrest Campbell Poole Jr. and his wife Marilu of Sharpsburg; sister, Angela Lynch Hamby of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; grandchildren, Billy Rowell, Forrest C. Mrs. Sewell was born August 23, 1916 in Carroll County, Ga. She was a retired textile worker from Arnco Mills in Coweta County. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she was pianist for 41 years. She was married for 65 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Kate Vines.

Mrs. Harris was born July 25, 1932, in Houston, Texas. She had been a resident of Albany, Ga., for 33 years before moving to Newnan three years ago. She was a retired chef with Wynfield Plantation and a member of Beacon Baptist Church. She was the widow of James L. Harris.

Mr. Bobby Mayner, 48, of Senoia, Ga. died July 29, 2000 at the V. A. Medical Center in Decatur, Ga.
Mr. Mayner was born Dec. 7, 1951 in Meriwether County.

Airman First Class Adam D. Veitch
Airman First Class Adam Daniel Veitch, 20, of Dudley, North Carolina and who was stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina, died Monday at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville, North Carolina (Wayne County) as the result of injuries from an auto accident.
He was born July 28, 1980 in Newnan. He is the son of Daniel R. Veitch and wife Donna of Newnan, Ga. and Cathy Stone Newman and husband James of Sharpsburg, Ga.
Mr. Veitch served his country in the United States Air Force for two years. He was a jet engine mechanic with the U.S. Air Force 4th Component Squadron at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. He was an honor graduate of Newnan High School where he was in the ROTC program, and he had completed one quarter of college at the time of his death. He was a member of Peachtree City Church of God.
A funeral will be Saturday, August 5 at 11 a.m. at Martin and Hightower Hillcrest Chapel in Newnan, Ga. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan with full military honors. Serving as pallbearers will be an honor guard from Robbins Air Force Base in Warner Robbins, Ga. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Newnan High School ROTC. The Rev. Allen Mathura and the Rev. Franklin Treadwell will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Jim Veitch and the Rev. Jimmy Fleming. Mr. Dan A. Burnham, 79, of Moreland, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Burnham was born April 25, 1921, in Newnan. He was a 1950 graduate of Georgia Tech, and served in the United States Navy. He retired from Lockheed in 1976, and became a drug and alcohol counselor in Coweta County.
A funeral will be held Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at 2 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. The Rev. Harry Barrow will officiate, and burial will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Ruth Turner Fitts, 97, of Newnan, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Fitts was born in Atlanta, and was one of the first women to graduate from Georgia Tech. She always had her diploma on display at her home. Mrs. Fitts taught business administration, English, and typing at Commercial high School in Atlanta. A 57 year member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Mrs. Fitts was an organizing member of the Cherokee Chapter of the DAR in Atlanta. She served in many offices and as chairperson of many committees of the DAR, twice served as chapter regent, was consulting registrar for the state society from 1964-66, and helped compile the proceedings book for the Georgia State Society. In 1966, she complied the book Membership Role and Register of Ancestors, which is used as a genealogical resource. She was also a member of other patriotic organizations.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at 1:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church. Dr. Joel Richardson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Georgia Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Turner Trammell; grandchildren Harlan M. Trammell III, Lella Catherine Trammell, and Martha Trammell Wyant; and great-grandchild Isabelle Harlan Wyant.

Col. Douglas Cleveland Harvey
Col. Douglas Cleveland Harvey, 55, of Palmetto, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at a family member's home.
Col. Douglas was born Sept. 10, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion.
A funeral will be held Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at 11 a.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. A military chaplain will officiate, and Col. Harvey will be buried with full military honors in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors this Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, from 7 to 9 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home.
Surviving are his daughters, Tiffany Wallace of Mableton and Elizabeth Harvey of Powder Springs; sons Sean Fletcher of Niagra Falls, N.Y., and Nick Harvey and his wife Terry Lynn of Newnan; sister Brenda Baldwin of Toronto, Canada; brother Paul Kaisig of Arnprior, Ontario, Canada; and grandchildren Kately, Kristin, Zackery, Chaselyn, Trever, Justin, Dylan, Austin, and Ashlyn.

T. C. "Jimmy" Arrington
Mr. T.C. "Jimmy" Arrington, 59, of Newnan, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital.
Mr. Arrington was born Aug. 4, 1941, in Coweta County to the late Willie Paul and Janie Lee Pendergrast Arrington. He owned T.C. Wrecker Service, and was a Baptist by faith.
A funeral will be held today, Aug. 6, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel. Brother Roy Lee Coggin will officiate, assisted by Pastor Rick Duncan. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, and Rucker Orr, Kenneth Orr, Charlie Baker, James Baker, Kenny Bishop, David Keith, and Joe Stephens will serve as pallbearers.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen Arrington of Newnan; children, Kim, Lenny, and Elvis; sisters, Virginia Groover and Bernice Broome of Newnan and Dorothy Krofchick of Columbia, S.C.; brothers, Henry Arrington of Newnan and Melvin Arrington of Tyus; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. George Warren Parr
Mr. George Warren Parr, 75, of Sharpsburg, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.
Mr. Parr was born in Mingo Junction, Ohio, to John and Ethel Parr. He was a graduate of Virginia Junior College and the University of Minnesota, and spent much of his life in Minnesota before moving to College Park, Georgia, where he was a self-employed auto electrical parts wholesaler. After his retirement six years ago, Mr. Parr moved to Sharpsburg to be near his family. A dedicated Jehovah's Witness, Mr. Parr became an elder in the Sharpsburg Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at 1:30 p.m. at the Sharpsburg Kingdom Hall. Brother Major Gresham will officiate.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Gladys Parr; son, David Parr of Newnan; daughters and sons-in-law Kathryn and Joel Reets of Sharpsburg and Susan and Sylvain Levesque of St. Lazare, Quebec, Canada; brother, Monte Parr of Helena, Mont.; sister, Mary Erwin of Adena, Ohio; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
