Mr. Harry L. Newmyer, 89, of Grantville, died Sunday, November 5, 2000 at his home.
A funeral and burial will be Saturday, Nov. 11 in Alamosa, Colorado.
Mr. Newmyer was born August 30, 1911 in Atlanta, Missouri, son of the late Henry Gray Newmyer and the late Lula Daughtery Newmyer. Before making his home with his daughter in Grantville, Ga. in 1990, he lived in Alamosa, Colorado for many years, where he was the retired owner and operator of New Water Well Drilling Company.

Mr. Jerry "Wayne" Dewayne Reeves, 43, of Gadsden, Ala., died Tuesday, November 7, 2000.
Mr. Reeves was employed at Mountain View Hospital for 16 years. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hub Reeves and Elizabeth Pitts.
Mr. Reeves is survived by his mother, Sarah Vance of Gadsden, Ala.; father, Ben Reeves of Gadsden, Ala.; brothers, Tony (Teresa) Reeves, Benny Reeves and Gary (Tammy) Reeves; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He has numerous aunts, cousins and friends in the Newnan area.
A funeral will be Thursday, November 9, at 2 p.m. at the Village Chapel East funeral home in Gadsden, Alabama. Rev. Ernest Garnett Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at Le Bannon Cemetery. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers. Special thanks to the Coates Bend Volunteer Fire Department.

Mrs. Florence Marie Carter died Monday, November 6, 2000 at her residence.
A funeral will be Thursday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 85 Bay Street, Fairburn, Ga. with the Rev. J. Douglas Childers, pastor, officaiting, assisted by the Rev. Joyce Gay. Mrs. Carter was born in Old Campbell County February 8, 1926 in Fairburn, Ga. to the late Mr. and Mrs. Anderson Willingham. She received all of her education in the Fulton County School System. She joined St. Mark's United Methodist Church at an early age. She served faithfully and worked on several committees throughout the church. She was very much involved in all church activities and was instrumental in assuring the support of all critical church projects.
After working 43 years for Dr. Albert Morris, she retired to spend quality time with family and friends.
Surviving are her husband, James; four daughters, Bettye, Theresa, Paula and Moneese; sons-in-law, Craig Morgan, Emory Stevens and Mel Delara; six grandchildren, Vincent, Kea, Jay, Robert, Ryan and Evan; granddaughter-in-law, Kimberly; great-grandchild, Jada Sunshine Morgan; six loving friends, Mama Mary Thompson, Sister Juanita Wright, Marie Norman, Mattie and Willie Coleman and Georgia Lou Hunnicutt along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. John David Head, 37, of Smyrna, Ga. and formerly of Newnan, died Wednesday, November 8, 2000.
Mr. Head was born in Southmont, N.C. and later moved to Newnan, where he graduated from East Coweta High School in 1981. Following graduation from high school Mr. Head spent most of his life in the banking industry, most recently with Suntrust Bank in Atlanta.
Mr. Head was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Henry Leon Head.

Mr. Walker Eugene Horne, 79, of E. Highway 16, Newnan, died Tuesday, November 7, 2000 at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital.
Mr. Horne was born October 4, 1921 in Coweta County to the late Walker Eugene and Allie Hyde Horne. His wife, Margaret Edwards Horne and a son, Sam Horne, preceded him in death. He was retired Air Force/Air Traffic Controller.

Mrs. Ruthie Greene Wright, 58, died October 12, 2000 in Alabama.
A funeral was Friday, Oct. 20, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. John H. Curry Jr. officiating in Tuskegee, Ala. Burial was in Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Thomasville, Ga. Pallbearers and flower bearers were family and friends.
Mrs. Wright was born April 17, 1942 to the late Wesley and Callie Chester Greene in Thomasville, Ga. She met and married Willie Joe Wright in November 1966. They had one daughter, Nicole Alexandra Wright.
She accepted Christ at and early age and was active in church work. She helped with the children's Usher Board, Vacation Bible School, Children's Church and especially arts and crafts.
Her career as a teacher enabled her to meet her first love -- children. She was a kindergarten teacher for 30 years with the Coweta County Board of Education. She retired in June 1995. Since then she had been active serving in different capacities in her community and in the schools. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Amos and Jake.
Surviving are her husband, Willie Joe Wright; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole (Purcey) Asinga; sister, Wessie Mitchell; three brothers-in-law; seven sisters-in-law; nephews; nieces, cousins; three aunts; three grandchildren, Kelly, TaMarcus and Vanaya; a very special neighbor, Mrs. Susan Enkeball; two special friends, Mrs. Verneda Dowdell and Marian Ford; co-workers and friends.

Mrs. Dollie Mae "Mom Mae" Daniel, 80, of Newnan, died Monday, November 6, 2000 at her residence.
Mrs. Daniel was born August 6, 1920 to the late Felton Hines and Arellious Smith Hines. On June 25, 1938 she married H. P. Daniel and they had four children. She joined the Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Church at an early age. After her marriage to H.P. Daniel she moved her membership to the Saint John Baptist Church. She served in several positions including as an usher, on the Hospitality Committee and on the Mother Board. She remained a member of the Mother Board until her death.
A funeral will be Friday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church, Shenandoah. The Rev. Harvey Peek will officiate, assisted by the Rev. W. C. Golphin, the Rev. J. Stricklandand other ministers. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be community friends, honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.

Mr. Mapp was born May 8, 1943 in Newnan. He was a master sergeant-retired from the U.S. Air Force. He retired as an Aircraft Systems Engineer from the Air Force after 20 years of service. He received the Distinguished Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medan with Nine Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with Five Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Three Bronze Stars and five additional medals. He will be buried with full military honors.

Mrs. Ethel Boozer Sewell, 95, of Moultrie, Ga., died Friday, November 10, 2000 at Phoebe Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga.,
Mrs. Sewell was born July 16, 1905 in Hogansville, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Preston Augustus Sewell and Mamie Arnold Boozer. She had lived in Moultrie since 1984 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moultrie. She taught school for 45 years.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 1, at Allen-Lee Memorial Methodist Church in Merriwether County. The Reverend Rance Sprayberry will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Grier joined the Old Mt. Bethlehem Baptist Church in Newnan at an early age. She was a graduate of the Newnan Public School System, and retired from McKenzie High School in 1999.

Mr. James H. "Jimmy" Holder, 62, of Whitesburg, Ga., died November 12, 2000.
Mr. Holder is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Maude Horne Holder. He was employed by the Carroll County Sheriff's Department since 1987. Prior to that he was employed by the Bowdon Police Department from 1973 to 1987.

Mrs. Leavell joined Laster Chapel Methodist Church at an early age. She began attending Nardin Street Methodist Church in Detroit, Michigan where she served faithfully. She was happily married to Clarence Leavell in 1939 and for 54 years until his death in 1993. She retired as a seamstress supervisor of Hollywood Millinery Company in Detroit, Michigan. She was a seamstress, hat maker and cosmetologist.
Surviving are her son, Gerald and godniece Dianne Cameron; daughter-in-law, Betty, one goddaughter, Latisha Chandler; four great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 15 step-great grandchildren; one brother-in-law; four sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Mary Elilillian Neely, 82, of Moreland, Ga. died Monday, November 13, 2000 at Newnan Hospital.
Mrs. Neely was born March 29, 1918 in Coweta County, Ga. She was a veteran.

Mrs. Raye Y. North, 79, of Newnan, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000 at Newnan Hospital.
Mrs. North was born May 18, 1921 in Lakehurst, New Jersey. She was a retired medical records librarian for the old Coweta General Hospital and later Humana Hospital.

Mr. Aubrey L. Whitlock, 63, of Moreland, Ga. died Monday, November 13, 2000 at his residence.
Mr. Whitlock was born December 5, 1936 in Coweta Counnty. He worked in the Bonnell tool and die shop. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He is predeceased by a son, Tony Whitlock.

Mrs. Brenda Ann Webb Yates, 52, of 24670 Highway 100, Roopville, Ga., died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000 at Crawford Lond Hospital in Atlanta.
She was born in Heard Countny, Ga. April 8, 1948, daughter of Pink Webb and Gertrude Laura Yarborough Webb. She was employed with Bremen-Bowdon Investment Company, where she had worked for more than 30 years. She is survivied by her husband, Mitchell Y. Yates of Roopville; parents, Pink and Gertrude Webb of Franklin; two sons and daughter-in-law, Alan Scott Yates and James "David" and Rita D. Hogan of Roopville; mother-in-law, Lillian Yates of Ephesus; sister, Mary Caldwell of Roopville; four brothers, Walter Webb and the Rev. Wayne Webb of Franklin, Charles Webb of Roopville and Bobby Webb of Sand Hill; two grandchildren, James Caleb Hogan and Ashley Nicole Mitchell.
A funeral will be Tusday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. at Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel with the Rev. Clarence Agan officiating.

Mr. Carey Donald Knight, 73, died Monday, November 13, 2000 at the Georgia War Veterans' Nursing Home in Augusta, Ga.
Mr. Knight was born to Henry and Annie Cooper Knight December 16, 1926 in Newnan, Ga. He graduated from LaGrange High School in 1944. A veteran of World War II, he served in teh U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. Following his service in the Navy, he earned an industrial management degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1950. After a 36-year career with International Playtex, he retired in 1992.
Mr. Knight was a member of Central Baptist Church and a former member of the Newnan Golden K Kiwanis Club.
Mr. Knight is survivied by his wife of 50 years, Lillian Hill Knight of Newnan; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. John C. and Kaye Knight of Newnan; son, David H. Knight of Washington, D. C.; and daughter and son-in-law, Jim and Karen Poore of Barnesville, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Nathan and Ann Knight of Newnan; nephews, Nathan G. Knight Jr. of Brussells, Belguim and Bill Knight of Atlanta; niece, Ansley Knight of Newnan; numerous cousins in Newnan and LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by his first son, Carey Donald Knight Jr. in Augusta 1952.

Mrs. Betty Ann Durrough, 69, of Sargent, Ga. died Tuesday, November 14, 2000 at Newnan Hospital.
Mrs. Durrough was born May 20, 1931 in Coweta County, Ga. She worked as an inspector and was a veteran of the U.S. armed forces.

Mr. Charlie H. "Hub" Lipham, 89, of LaGrange, died Tuesday, November 14, 2000 at Hospice LaGrange.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 at Unity Baptist Church in LaGrange. The Rev. Bobby Robinson will officiate and burial will be in Corinth Cemetery.
Mr. Lipham was born November 9, 1911 in Heard County, son of the late James and Mary Etta Sheets Lipham. A former resident of New Orleans, he lived in the Corinth Community of Heard Counnty from 1968 until making his home in LaGrange in 1992. He was a retired barber, was a member of Unity Baptist Church, and was a member of Masonic Lodge #395 in New Orleans.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alma Lipham of LaGrange; daughter, Mrs. Bobbie Guthrie of Lithia Springs; three step-daughters, Mrs. Debbie Eley of LaGrange, Mrs. Patty Burnham of Centralhatchee and Mrs. Margie Robinson of LaGrange; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Newnan, of the Never Grow Old senior group and sang in the choir. Her husband, John S. Smith preceded her in death.

Mrs. Marcelle Vickers, 72, of Carrollton, died Tuesday, November 14, 2000 at Tanner Medical Center.
Mrs. Vickers was a retired operator for Answering Mobile in Mobile, Alabama.
Mrs. Vickers was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. George Calvin Vickers. Mrs. June McConnell Barron, 77, of Senoia, formerly of Atlanta, died Thursday, November 16, 2000.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. "Gus" Barron.
Surviving are three children: her daughter, Shelor Barron Brumbeloe, son-in-law Walter Brumbeloe, of Augusta, Ga., and their children, Lynda B. Jones, Angela B. Mardia, Frank H. Brumbeloe, June B. Fairchild and six great-granddaughters; her second daughter, Juliann Barron Brandes, son-in-law, Bobby Brandes of Senoia, Ga., and their children Tres Brandes and Kyle Brandes; and her son, Scott Barron, daughter-in-law Tammy Winslett Barron of Harlem, Ga. and their children Matthew Barron and Elizabeth Barron.
