A funeral will be Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. at Hines Memorial Chapel, 595 Westlake Avenue, N.W. Burial will be in Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, Ga.
Mr. Buford was born August 20, 1954 in Lakeland, Florida to Nathaniel Buford Sr. and the late Marquita Celeste Frasier. He was the oldest of five children, three boys, two girls. One brother preceded him in death. He attended elementary and high school in Eatonton, Florida. He had also lived in Macon, Ga. and moved to Atlanta in 1983. On March 14, 2000 he became a resident of the John O. Chiles High-rise, and all who knew him, loved. him. On Nov. 3, 2000 he married Delores Williams.
Surviving are his wife, Delores Buford; daughter, Shandale Jackson; step-daughters, Sonya Faye Williams and Estella Williams Van Valen; brother, Tyrone Brice, New York; sister, Idella Williams; four uncles, three aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Sarah Byrd Robertson, 91, of West Washington Street, Newnan, died Saturday, February 24, 2001 at Southland Nursing Home.
Mrs. Robertson was born May 12, 1909 in Rockdale County, Ga. to the late John and Orrie Piper Ogletree. She was a retired educator from the Coweta County Schools and a member of First United Methodist Church of Newnan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Robertson Sr.

A funeral was held at graveside in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan Monday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. The Rev. Gary Parrish officiated.

Mrs. Reba May Cross, 81, of Newnan, died at home Sunday afternon, February 25, 2001.
Mrs. Cross was born to Dewey and Alice Mitchell in Centralia, Illinois, Jan. 7, 1920. Mrs. Cross moved to Newnan approximately 20 years ago to be near her daughter, Carol. In recent years Mrs. Cross has enjoyed reading and sewing.

Mrs. Millie R. "Granny" Payne, 77, of Southside Avenue, Carrollton, Ga., formerly of Newnan, died Sunday, February 25, 2001 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.
She was born December 9, 1923 in Henry County, Ga., daughter of the late Willie Lee Dunn and Mrs. Hilda Mae Fountain Dunn. She was a retired textile worker and was a member of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Wilson Payne.
Surviving are her children, Nellie Mae Cavender of Carrolton, Robert Lee Cavender of Jacksonville, Ala. and Shirley Ann Digsby of Carrollton; sisters, Ruby Jordan of Luthersville and Willie Mae Walls of Griffin; brother, Walter Dunn of Barnesvile; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nettie Wade, 86, of Main Street, Newnan, died Sunday, February 25, 2001 at Starcrest of Newnan.
Mrs. Wade was born May 14, 1914 in Georgia. She worked as a seamstress at Southern Mills. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Wade is preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Broome and Shelby Ayers and two grandsons, Steve Ayers and Ronald Wade.
The family was receiving friends Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel.
A funeral will be Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel. The Rev. Paul Dennis will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.

Mrs. Frances Blackburn Sargent Pinson, 50, of Rome, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001.
Mrs. Pinson was born March 28, 1950, in Newnan to the late Henry David and Fannie Cole Blackburn Sargent. She was a member of West Rome United Methodist Church.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Feb. 25, at the West Rome United Methodist Church. The Revs. Roger McDonald, Harvey Palmer, III, Barbara Davis, and Mr. Bob Williams officiated.
The family will receive friends next Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church in Newnan. Following the visitation, burial will be in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Faye Bexley Cook Wilson, 86, of Newnan, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Wilson was born Sept. 19, 1914, in Moreland to the late Ralph E. Bexley and Ruth Haynes Bexley. She was a member of Newnan First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her first husband, John Robert Cook and Senoia, and her second husband, Hill Wilson of Macon. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Billy, Stanley, and Ralph Bexley, Jr.
A funeral will be held today, Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at 2 p.m. at McKoon Funereal Home. The Rev. Gary Parrish will officiate, and burial will be in the Senoia City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Bexley, Bob Bexley, Brett Bexley, Stan Bexley, Ken Bexley, and Phil Orrell.

Mr. Beman F. Weathers, 68, of Williamson, Ga., died Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at Southwest Christian Hospice after an extended illness.
Mr. Weathers was born to James and Lois Weathers in Rome, Ga. and later moved to Mobile, Alabama where he was past president of the 1950 graduating class at Murphy High School. He attended the University of Alabama and later graduated from Iowa State University. After serving a tour of duty in the Air Force, Mr. Weathers became employed and later retired as a Sales Manager from Arrowhead Products, an Aerospace products manufacturer located in California. He was past president and a lifetime member of the American Defense Preparedness Association.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Mrs. Jane Platt Weathers; son, Mr. Brock Forester Weathers and his wife Laura Larson Weathers of Woodstock, Ga.; daughter, Mrs. Wendy Weathers Lignell and her husband Dr. Mark D. Lignell of Portsmouth, Virginia; brother, Mr. David B. Weathers of Pace Florida; and granddaughter, Miss Claire Weathers of Woodstock, Ga.

Mr. Luther Dean Smith, 63, of LaGrange, died Monday, February 19, 2001, at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Hospital in Warm Springs, Ga.
Born Mary 21, 1937, in Thomaston, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Murry and Lonzell Grizzle Smith. He lived in Troup County most of his life and was a Baptist.

Mrs. Carney Jane Hunter Trammell, 89, of North Main Street, Luthersville died Tuesday, February, 20, 2001 at her residence.
Mrs. Trammell was born September 4, 1911 in the Bexton Community in Coweta County, the daughter of Richard Thomas Hunter Sr. and Jennie Beatrice Haynie Hunter. She was a graduate of Grantville High School and a homemaker.
Mrs. Trammell was a member of Luthersville Baptist Church where she was a former Royal Ambassador leader and active member of Woman's Missionary Union. She served on the building committee for the new church in the 1950s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Young Trammell Sr., and daughter, Celia Trammell Williams.
The funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. at Luthersville Baptist Church with Rev. Winston Skinner and Rev. Rhodes Skinner officiating. Special music will be by Carmen Trammell Skaggs.

Deborah Hamlett Parker, 47, of Newnan, died Friday, February 16, 2001, at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Ms. Parker grew up in Kingsport, Tennessee. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1971 and graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee in 1975. She earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee in 1976. Ms. Parker taught elementary school in Sullivan County, Tennessee for one year following college and thereafter for twenty-one years in the Fulton County school system, primarily in the first grade. She taught at Central Park Elementary School in East Point, Mimosa Elementary School in Roswell, and Sweet Apple Elementary School in Alpharetta. She was very active in all her schools, serving on or chairing numerous committees.
Ms. Parker lived in the east Cobb and Sandy Springs areas of Atlanta until last year, when she and her husband moved to a horse farm in Newnan, which they named SummerWind Farm. She was an active volunteer in the Greyhound adoption movement, and served on the Advisory Board of Southeastern Greyhound Adoption and the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Greyhound Club. She shared her home with four Greyhounds, and foster homed many former racing Greyhounds. Among her other interests were coursing, sailing, scuba diving, and photography.
Ms. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lois Hamlett of Kingsport, an infant brother, Mark Hamlett.
She is survived by her husband, John Parker, two sisters and brother-in-law, Sandra and Bob McGinnis, Kingsport, Tennessee and Susan McGlothlin, Lynchburg, Virginia; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. James and Mary Jane Hamlett, Memphis, Tennessee and Dr. Frank and Diane Hamlett, San Diego, California, and eighteen nephews and nieces.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at the First United Methodist Church, 33 Greenville Street, Newnan, Reverend Charles Neal officiating. The family will receive friends at the Parker home following the service. Burial will be at the Monte Vista Cemetery in Johnson City, Tennessee, where there will be a graveside service on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Southeastern Greyhound Adoption, 3090 Lassiter Rd., Marietta, GA 30062, or to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Swanson, 79, of Sharpsburg died Tuesday, February 20, 2001.
Surviving are daughters Suzanne Cochran, Robin Harlan, and Janie Tutterow; 4 grandchildren Roxie Patterson, Jim Reeves, Brandon Harlan, Brett Tutterow; 3 great-grandchildren, Jewel Patterson, Yancey Patterson and Hadleigh Reeves.
A funeral will be held Thursday Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. at Ramah First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Lawrence Edward Craig, 33, of Newnan, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001 at his home.
Mr. Craig was born to Lawrence and Carolyn Craig in Riverdale, Ga. in 1967. After graduating West Georgia College (now the State University of West Georgia), Mr. Craig and family moved to Newnan where he became a Temple Worthy member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
The family will receive friends at Jones Funeral Home in Newnan Tuesday, Feb. 20 from 6-8 p.m.

Mr. Edwin H. "Tommy" Thompson
Mr. Edwin H. "Tommy" Thompson, 77, a retired captain in the U.S. Navy, of Pensacola, Florida, died Friday, February 16, 2001.
A native of LaGrange, Ga., Mr. Thompson and his wife were residents of Pensacola for the past 31 years. He was a retired U. S. Navy captain who served on combat during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Leion of Merit with V, for his service in Vietnam. His last tour of duty was as supply officer at NAS Pensacola where he retired in 1974. He was a member of the Pensacola Power Squadron, American Legion Post 240 and TROA.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanne; brother, William H. Thompson (Evelyn) of Albany, Ga.; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family.
A funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Pensacola, Florida with Father Michael Flynn officiating. Burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers wil be Supply Corps officers, Capt. T. C. Goslin, Capt. J. A. Gillespie, Capt. Frank Crane, Capt. Donald Krehely, Capt. Spencer Butts, CMDR C. C. McCandless and LCDR Charlie Eye and Capt Richard Hawthorne.
