Mr. Robert "Bobby" Wright Evans, 58, of Earl North Road, Newnan, died Thursday, February 8, 2001 at his residence.
Mr. Evans was born June 15, 1942 in Newborn (Jasper City), Ga. He and his wife, Virginia (Ginger) Thornhill Evans were residents of Newnan for 23 years. He was the former painting superintendent of Hope Painting Inc. of Newnan. He started his own business, B&G Painting, Inc. in April 1981 and served as president of the company until October 1998 when he became disabled.
Mr. Evans was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, West Grantville Road, Newnan, for 13 years. He served as chairman of the Building Committee for 8 years and was an avid supporter of the youth.
The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 9 at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan from 7-9 p.m.
A funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 10, at Bethlehem Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Turin Baptist Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia (Ginger) Evans; daughter, Lynn Danley Shaw of Loganville, Ga.; sons. Robert Wright Evans Jr. and Brent Alan Evans, both of Newnan; sisters, Dorothy Perkins and Carol Evans, both of Panama City Beach, Florida, Floy Burford of McDonough, Ga. and Louise LeMaster of Jonesboro, Ga.; four grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his father, Robert Lee Evans; mother, Viola Inez Wright; three brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Laurie Baggarly Lee, 85, of Lexington, Kentucky, and formerly of Atlanta, died February 7, 2001 at Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
Mrs. Lee is the great-granddaughter of the Rev. Francis Warren Baggarly who was an early settler of Senoia in the early 1860s and organizer of the first church, Methodist Episcopal South, now Senoia United Methodist Church. She was born April 10, 1915, first child of Olin Joseph Baggarly and Maude Estelle Reeves Baggarly, in Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Price Lee, and a sister, Joyce Estelle Baggarly.
Mrs. Lee was a retired office manager for Dr. William Funkhouser Jr. in Atlanta. She was a graduate of Girls' HIgh School, Atlanta, and attended Cox College, College Park.
A funeral will be held at graveside in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10. The family will gather at the cemetery. The Rev. Robert Shaw will officiate.
Survivors include her daughter, Laurie Lee Humphries, M.D., and son-in-law, Asa Alan Humphries Jr., Ph.D., of Lexington, Kentucky; brother, Olin Joseph Baggarly Jr., Atlanta; granddaughter, Laura Catherine Humphries; three step-grandchildren, Susan Gaddis, Lawrenceville, Ga., David Alan Humphries, Decatur, Ga., Ann Shaw, Lexington; three nieces, and a number of cousins in the Atlanta and Coweta County areas.

Mrs. Emma Sue Morrow, 96, of Pine Knoll Drive, Carrollton, formerly of Griffin Homes, died Wednesday, February 7, 2001.
She was born October 14, 1904 in Carroll County to the late Joe Pat Brown and Annie B. Houston Brown. She was a retired winder tender from Wellington Mill and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Coy Morrow.
Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be Friday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at Martin and Hightower West Center Street Chapel, Carrollton, with Mr. Roy Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Whitesburg Cemetery.

Mr. Bobby Gene Stegall
Mr. Bobby Gene Stegall, 55, of Old Corinth Road, Newnan, died Monday, February 6, 2001 at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Stegall was born May 26, 1945. He was the fifth child of the late Mamie and Ralph Stegall Sr. and grew up in and around Newnan, Ga. On August 26, 1967, he married Opal Lee Berry and together they raised a loving family of three children. He enjoyed many titles in his lifetime: soldier, master concrete builder and business owner, chairman of the Trustee Board, church treasurer and a community leader. But the ones he cherished most were husband, father and grandfather.
As a businessman he served 28 years with distinction in Coweta County and surrounding areas. It was during this time that he first committed his long life dream as being a well-known businessman. Along with wife Opal, they started Stegall Concrete Company in 1973. Together they built a family, a business and a shining example of sharing a deep spiritual commitment with others arounnd them.
Mr. Stegall graduated from Central High School, Class of 1963, and later entered the United States Army. He served in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart and other medals of honor. He joined Dent Chapel A. M. E. Church at an early age and served for many years as chairman of the Trustee Board and church treasurer, providing financial and transportation support until he experienced health problems.

Mr. James Ralph Childers, 72, of Highway 54, Moreland, died Tuesday, February 6, 2001.
Mr. Childers was born December 11, 1928 in Forsyth County, Ga. He was a devoted husband and family man and was a good advisor in helping others and was retired from Peachtree Doors in Norcross. He was a truck driver.
The family was receiving friends Wednesday, Feb. 7 from 6-9 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel in Newnan.
A funeral will be Thursday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel with Dr. Dean Haun officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City.

Mr. Delbert W. Lynn
Mr. Delbert W. Lynn, 58, of Marsha Way, Newnan, died Saturday, January 27, 2001 at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital.
Mr. Lynn was born March 2, 1942 in Sacramento, California. He was a retired chief warrant officer with the U.S. Army after 21 years and 29 days of service. He enlisted in the Army March 3, 1966 and faithfully served his country until his retirement April 1, 1987. CWO Lynn received many medals and commendations while serving his country including the Bronze Star. He also served as a special agent in the Criminal Investigation Division of the Army.
A funeral was held Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan. A military chaplain officiated. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road, Newnan.

Mr. Alga Robinson, 81, of Hogansville, died Wednesday, February 7, 2001 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Ga.

Mr. Robinson was born July 25, 1919 in Heard County, son of the late Milburn and Cora Williams Robinson. He had lived in Hogansville since 1939 and was an Army veteran of World War Two. He retired from Uniroyal Inc. in Hogansville after 44 years of service and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Mr. Jim Askew, 80, of Hogansville, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Askew was born Dec. 10, 1920, in Hogansville to the late Benjamin Oliver Askew and the late Ione Ware Askew. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, he served in the Army during World War II and fought in the invasion of Normandy. Mr. Askew was a longtime merchant, cattle farmer, and real estate investor in Hogansville. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville, he was a former member of the Hogansville Board of Education and a former City Recorder's Court Judge. Mr. Askew was a longtime member of the Troup County Draft Board and a former director of the Hogansville Housing Authority.
A funeral will be held today, Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hogansville. The Revs. Charles Ritter, Joanna Pence, Marion Shivers, and Rance Sprayberry will officiate, and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 13, 1956, in Carroll County, and had lived most of her life in Hogansville. She attended New Life Baptist Church in Heard County. Her mother, Elsie Mae Brand Boyd, preceded her in death in January.

Ms. Pauline Carter, 76, of Grantville, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001.
Ms. Carter was born April 28, 1924. She joined the John Wesley United Methodist Church at an early age. She enjoyed singing in the senior choir and the W.A. Long Ensemble, and served on the pastor parish committee for many years. She was a member of the New Royal Chapter 89, Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie, her sister, Elizabeth, and her niece, Annie Laura.
A funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Joe P. Geter will give the eulogy, assisted by the Revs. Walter McMullens, Edmond Leigh and Thomas Hines. Burial will be in Grantville City Cemetery. The John Wesley United Methodist Men will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. William Lee Hall, 74, of Maxeys, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001.
Mr. Hall was born in Newnan to the late Winton Lee and Gladys Adams Hall. He retired from GMAC after 35 years, and was later employed as a lease manager with Pontiac Master in Augusta. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of Cherokee Corner Untied Methodist Church.
A funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Lord and Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel. The Revs. James Hinzman and O.C. Dean will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Maxeys. Mrs. Olive B. Williams, 76, of Newnan, formerly of Columbus, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001.
Mrs. Williams was born Aug. 27, 1924 in Thomaston to the late William Alfred Bedgood and Enolia Joiner. A homemaker, she attended the First Pentecostal Church of God in Columbus.
A funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at 2 p.m. the First Pentecostal Church of God in Columbus. Brother Ed Brawner will officiate, and burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus. Mr. John Charles Jarrard, 47, of Nashville, Tenn. died Thursday, February, 1, 2001 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Mr. Jarrard was born May 7, 1953 in Gainesville, the son of Bonnell Charles and Virginia Trammell Jarrard. His maternal grandparents were Robert T. "Bob" and Sallie McGahee Trammell of Coweta County.
Mr. Jarrard was a 1977 graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a songrwriter in Nashville, most recently associated with High Seas Music.
He was active in support of the American Diabetes Association.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 10 at 11 a.m. at Unity Church, 5125 Franklin Road, Nashville.

Mrs. Jackson was born December 13, 1909 in Heard County, Georgia, to the late James David Jackson and Mary Eugene Hardy Jackson. She was a homemaker and a devoted member of the Welcome United Methodist Church. She was a beloved mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Jackson.

Mr. Edward H. Mathena, 80, formerly of Greencastle, Indiana, died February 3, 2001 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was a salesman for Swift & Company for 14 years. He owned Fairway Restaurant and Mathena Manor Catering in Greencastle, Indiana for 11 years until his retirement in 1996. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. He was a member of the Rotary International in Greencastle, Indiana.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Feb. 7 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Greencastle, Indiana. Graveside services will be held on Feb. 7 at 3 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jan Mathena.

Mrs. Helen Marie Walker, 62, of Newnan, died at her home Sunday, February 4, 2001.
Mrs. Walker was born in 1938 to Thomas and Linnie Belle Landrum in Newnan, Ga., where she spent her life. She was employed by Royal Moulded Products/Olsonite until her health forced her to retired in 1984.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband of 38 years, Mr. Buford Walker of Newnan, Ga.; sisters, Mrs. Hazel Cash of Norfolk, Virginia and Mrs. Joyce Nelms of Moultrie, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jerome Custer Henson, Jr., 80, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, in Newnan.
Mr. Henson was born in Atlanta to Jerome Custer Henson, Sr., and Ethel Gresham Henson. He was a retired insurance sales representative and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
A grave-side service will be held today, Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at 4 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Bill Curington, Dr. Gene Tyre, and Brian Hammond Henson will officiate.

Mr. Joe Hughes, 69, of Grantville, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2001, at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Hughes was born June 24, 1931, to the late Frank and Annie Mae Faulkner Hughes. He lived in Coweta County most of his life.
A memorial service will be held today, Monday, Feb. 6, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today starting at 10 a.m.

Mrs. Constance Anne Rinaldi
Mrs. Constance Ann Rinaldi, 60, of Newnan died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001 after a long battle with cancer.
Mrs. Rinaldi was an active member of the Bosom Buddies breast cancer support group and worked to raise money for breast cancer research. Born in New York City, she traveled the word as an Air Force wife and a Delta Pilot's wife. She moved to Peachtree City in 1989 and then to Newnan in 1994.
A funeral mass will be said Tuesday, Feb. 6, 20001, at 10 a.m. at St. George's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors today, Feb. 5, 2001, from 6 to 9 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home.

Mr. Render Hugh Storey, 56, of Senoia, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Storey was born Aug. 22, 1944, in Coweta County. He was a self employed carpenter, and served in the United States Army. He attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
A funeral will be held today, Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Frank Powers will officiate, and burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery on Gordon Road. Serving as pallbearers will be Grady Vaughn, Chris Moss, Brad Hanby, Jr., Cecil Brown, Joel Clark, and Charles Vaughn.

Mr. Otis "Frank" Brewer, 56, of Franklin, Ga. died at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta on February 2, 2001.
Mr. Brewer was born July 3, 1944 in Heard County son of William Henry Brewer and Doris Hardegree Brewer. He was a member of the Centralhatchee United Methodist Church and was retired from the West Point Pepperell Company in LaGrange where he worked in the maintenance department and served a a mechanic.
Funeral services for Mr. Brewer will be Sunday, February 4, 2001 at 4:00 p.m. in the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Wayne Webb and Rev. Steve Whitman will officiate. The burial will follow in the Heard County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Ivilyn Christine Harcrow Jackson, 91, of Franklin, Ga. died at the Franklin Health Care Center on February 3, 2001.
Mrs. Jackson was born December 13, 1909 in Heard County, Ga. daughter of James David Jackons and Mary Eugene Hardy Jackson. She was a homemaker and a devoted member of Welcome United Methodist Church. She was a beloved mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Victoria Ferguson, 82, died January 32, 2001.
Mrs. Ferguson was born Dec. 18, 1918 in Montclair, New Jersey, and was married to Alan D. Ferguson, also of Montclair, for 61 years. They have resided the past two years at Wesley Woods of Newnan-Peachtree City.
She graduated from Smith College in Northampton, Mass. in 1940 majoring in music concentrating on the piano. She graduated with honors and was inducted into Alpha Phi Kappa Psi, an honorary recognition where she served as treasurer. She was a talented pianist and an avid golfer. She wa a member of Newnan Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held at Newnan Presbyterian Church 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 with Harry Barrow officiating.
She is survivied by her husband Alan D. Ferguson; daughters, Dale Ferguson of Atlanta, Martha Ball and husband Dennis of Palmetto, Ga. and son Cleve Ferguson of Duluth, Ga.; grandchildren, Peter and David Braunecker and Elizabeth Greene, all of Atlanta; Dr. and Mrs. R. Mr. Gary Charles Hanson
Mr. Gary Charles Hanson, 53, of Sharpsburg, Ga. and formerly of Plano, Texas, died at home Thursday morning, January 11, 2001 following a short battle with cancer.
Mr. Hanson was born to J. C. and Cathleen Hanson in Tyler, Texas, and had been a resident of Sharpsburg, Ga. for the past three years. Mr. Hanson graduated from North Texas University with a BBA degree in marketing and advertising and retired from Conagra as a regional operations manager. Mr. Hanson was proud of his service to America as a United States Marine. He was an avid golfer and guitar player.
Mr. Hanson was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survivied by his wife, Mrs. Cathy Simpson Hanson of Sharpsburg, Ga., formerly of Plano, Texas; sons, Mr. Matthew Ryan Hanson, Mr. John Clyde Hanson, both of Plano, Texas; daughter, Miss Anna Cathleen Hanson of Sharpsburg, Ga., formerly of Plano, Texas; sisters, Ms. Dianna Hooten of Troy, Texas, Mrs. Cathy Shelton and her husband, Richard of Tyler, Texas; brothers-in-law, Mr. Kenneth Etheridge of Kingwood, Texas, Mr. Johnny Simpson of Pearland, Texas, Mr. Charles Simpson of Bailey, Texas; grandchildren, Billy Yin-Hanson, Jacob Yin-Hanson, both of Ft. Ms. Katherine Annette Martin May, 68, died Thursday, February 1, 2001 at a Franklin, North Carolina area hospital.
Ms. May was a native of Macon County, N.C., and the daughter of the late Thomas Pinkney and Mary J. Barker Martin. She was married for 26 years to William Bryce May Jr. who died in 1991. She was a homemaker and a member of Riverview United Methodist Church. She did volunteer work for Britthaven and was active in relief operations during hurricane Hugo. She was active in several charity organizations in Franklin and Newnan, Ga.
Surviving are daughter Joyce Pharr of Franklin, N.C.; long-time friend and companion Charles Sanders of Franklin; sisters, Chloe Burnette of Bristol and Elzie Lewis of Chandler, N.C.; brother Claude Martin of Anderson, South Carolina; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Diane Cox.
A funeral will be Sunday, Feb. 4 at 3:30 p.m. at Riverview United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Brooks, the Rev. Doug Carpenter and the Rev. Benny Bagwell officiating. Ike Haney, Christopher Pharr, James Weaber, Bo Barker, Joe Burnette, Ken Burdette, Mike Rockett and Mike Martin will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Bryant Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
