Funeral services for Mrs. Sylvia Pauline Redmond Webb, of Franklin, Ga., were conducted March 14, 2001 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Talmadge Chandler officiating. Pallbearers were Brandon Webb, Elliot Rivers, Allen Mitchell, Shane Wulff, Darrell Pugh Jr. and Kevin Pugh. Burial was in Enon Grove Cemetery in Heard County.
Mrs. Webb was born December 10, 1923 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late John Redmond and Katherine Anna Poore. She was a housewife and mother of 16. Mrs. Webb was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Franklin, Ga. and a regular Sunday School attender.
Mrs. Webb died Monday, March 12, 2001 at the Gilmer County Nursing Home in Ellijay, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ogal Eugene Webb Sr. and three sons, Arlin Dennis and Tony Webb.
Surviving are nine daughters, Sharon Dawson of Pearl, Miss., Patricia Mitchell of Williamsburg, Virginia, Cathy Wulff of Franklin, Ga., Margaret Pugh of Franklin, Ga., Trudy Webb of Franklin, Ga., Yvonne Rivers of Ewing, Virginia, Mitzie Rivers of Rosehill, Virginia, Deborah Hicks of Lincoln, Ala., and Tracy Webb of Poll City, Ala.; four sons, Gene Webb Jr. of Ellijay, Ga., Danny Webb of Harrogate, Tenn., Leslie Webb of Hyram, Ga., and Luther Webb of Harrogate, Tenn.; 39 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Mr. David John Drury, 51, of Newnan, Ga., died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at his job.
Mr. Drury was employed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and was born May 3, 1949 in Santa Monica, California. He proudly served in the Vietnam War. He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Virginia Drury of California.

Mrs. Nettie Ann Ellington Haygood, 89, of Newnan died Thursday, March 15, 2001 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.
She was born September 2, 1911 in Thomaston, Ga. She was the daughter of Lucious Thaddeus Ellington and Ludie Frances Smith.
Mrs. Haygood was born in the Redbone District, Upson County, and lived there until moving to Satesboro, Ga. in 1942 and moved to Eastman, Ga. in 1947 where she lived until 1997. Mrs. Haygood was a homemaker and was the widow of the late Mr. Farley Haygood. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eastman, Ga.
The family will receive friends from1:30-3 p.m. Saturday, March 17 at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home Inc., North Church Street, Thomaston, Ga. A funeral will be at the Pasley-Fletcher Chapel Saturday at 3 p.m. Dr. Albert E. Clarke will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Thomaston.

Mrs. Ramirez was born September 5, 1921 in Newnan. She was the retired owner of Quality Cleaners and a member of Moreland United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ramirez was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ramirez Sr. and a daughter, Lucille Ramirez.

Mrs. Mildred Janet Baker, 84, of Chestnut Field, Peachtree City, Ga., died Friday, March 9, 2001 in Beaulieu Nursing Home in Newnan.
Mrs. Baker was born June 1, 1916 in Leland, Ill. She was a retired registered nurse and a veteran of the U.S. Army. She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

She was a native of Cleburne County, Alabama, born January 24, 1925, daughter of the late John Smith and Effie Mae Mitchell Smith.Mrs. Mapp was a member of the Whitesburg Christian Church and worked as a looper at Lawler's Hosiery Mill.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Gene and Connie Mapp, Whitesburg; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Keith Fields, Mt. Zion; sister, Eunibe Brock, Bremen; brother, Otis Gunnels, Savannah. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Jefferson Whitehead and husband, Buford Mapp.

Mr. Burks was born January 29, 1963 in LaGrange, and lived in the Hogansville area most of his life. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Inez Allen Burks.

Ms. Mapp was born Dec. 3, 1936 to Mr. Guy and Mary Leora Dixon in Palmetto, Ga. When whe was three the family, which included her brothers Charles and Carl, moved to Newnan where her sister Elizabeth was born. She attended Newnan public schools prior to the family relocating to Atlanta in 1954. She was formerly married to David T. Mapp Sr. and she is the mother of three children, Mr. and Mrs. William Turner (Carla), Mr. and Mrs. Doyle White (Davina) and David T. Mapp Jr. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Dashawandra, David and Da Nia; a sister-friend, Mrs. Myrtis M. Webb and family, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Bell was born May 22, 1932 in Coweta County to Mr. and Mrs. Emmett (Mattie Pearl) Bell. His mother and sister preceded him in death.

Mrs. Ida Estelle Owens Forbus, 78, of Picketts Mill Road, Dallas, Ga., formerly of Temple, Ga., died Thursday, March 8, 2001 at Wellstar Paulding Memorial Hospital in Dallas.
She was born February 26, 1923 in Atlanta, Ga., daughter of the late Mr. Albert B. Owens and the late Mrs. Maggie B. Weekley Owens.
Mrs. Forbus was a member of the Villa Rica Church of Christ and was a homemaker. She had lived in Coweta County a number of years before moving to Carroll County.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie M. Forbus Jr. of Dallas, to whom she was married July 10, 1943, daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and William G. Robinson Jr. of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Libby Forbus of Bremen; sister, Geta Cannon of Smyrna; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews .
A funeral will be Sunday, March 11 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Minister Patrick Gray and Minister Bob Gray officiating. Mrs. Spradlin was born August 12, 1909 in Hogansville, daughter of the late Carl and Ira Gamble Hay. She was a lifelong resident of Hogansville, was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, and was retired from Jabaley's Department Store in Hogansville. She was the wife of the late George N. Spradlin.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, George Jr. and Edwin Spradlin, Kenneth and Betty Jo Spradlin, and Charles and Sherry Spradlin, all of Hogansville; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Robinson and Mrs. Betty Jerer, both of Hogansville; one brother, J. Mr. Hardaway was born January 12, 1951 in Senoia, Ga. to the late Johnnie B. Hardaway and Annie Mae Gibson. He was a hard worker for 15 years until his health failed in 1999 and led to early retirement.

Mrs. Boyd was born August 31, 1941 in Coweta County to the late Mr. Andrew Whatley and Mrs. Sallie Simmons Whatley. She was a member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She was married to Mr. Calvin Boyd Jr. and they had six children. One son, Michael Boyd, preceded her in death.
A funeral will be Wednesday, March 7 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Moreland. Minister Steve Dennis will officiate, assisted by Missionary Inez Moreland, Rev. David Rosser and other ministers. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Patricia Allene Darden Thornton, 74, wife of Guerry R. Thornton of Greenville, South Carolina and formerly of Newnan, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001.
Born in Atlanta, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Allen Wright and Allene Ruby Davis Darden.
Mrs. Thornton was an interior decorator and a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Greenville. While they were living in Newnan, Mr. Thornton served as judge of the Coweta County State Court and the couple lived in one of Newnan's historic homes in the Greenville-LaGrange National Register District.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Nancy T. Bailey of Savannah, Ga. and Lea T. Walker and her husband, Ralph H. Walker III of Greenville; a son, Guerry R. Thornton Jr. and his wife, Katya, of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Jacob Bailey, Anderton T. Bailey, Henry Walker IV, William T. Walker and Phillip Guerry Thornton.

Mr. Ralph L. Wortham, 86, of Luthersville, Ga., died Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 9 at the Luthersville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Floyd Tenney, the Rev. Marion Shivers and the Rev. Rance Sprayberry will officiate and burial will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.

Mr. Wortham was born September 30, 1914 in Luthersville, son of the late Francis and Emma Laws Wortham. A lifelong resident of Luthersville, he was an Army veteran of World War Two, was a member of American Legion Post 186 in Greenville, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Mason, was a member and former Sunday School superintendent of the Luthersville United Methodist Church, and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Luthersville. Mr. Wortham served as the first scoutmaster in Luthersville.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret White Wortham of Luthersville; daughter, Miss Melissa S. Wortham of Luthersville; son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Candace Wortham of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Caleb Wortham, Abby Wortham and Cady Wortham, all of LaGrange.

Mrs. Ellison, daughter of the late Pete and Barbara Hairston, was a native of LaGrange. She was a beautician and member of Saint John's Episcopal Church of College Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, P. L. Ellison.

Ms. Dukes was the daughter of the late Sheard Green and Bessie Newton Dukes. She worked in the administrative office of Arnco Mills, and was a faithful and dedicated member of Macedonia Baptist Church, serving in every capacity. She served as church organist for over 50 years.

Glenn Cannon of Newnan died Friday, March 2, 2001 at home.
After retiring from the restaurant business in Newnan he moved to Panama City Beach. During his 16 years in Panama City Beach, he was affiliated with KOA Kampground.
A survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor, he served his country in the Pacific Theater and was awarded three Bronze Stars and the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon.

Mrs. Martha Ellen Nunnally, 95, died Saturday, March 3, 2001 at her home in Hogansville,g Ga.
Mrs. Nunnally was born in 1905 in Memphis, TN daughter of Jacob and Cleo Ambrose. She spent 94 years of her life in Memphis where she taught first grade. In 1927 she graduated class valedictorian from Sweetbrier College in Virginia., She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a life long member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion.
Surviving are her son David A. Nunnaly of Hampshire, TN, her daughter Mrs. Alice N. McGuire of Hogansville, Ga.; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Mrs. Nunnally's ashes will be scattered at a later date in Nunnaly Field in Memphis, Tennessee along side her late husband, Mr. James Dermont Nunnaly.

Mrs. Shirley J. (Butcher) Isabell, 66, died at her residence in Sharpsburg, Ga. February 28, 2001 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born September 6, 1934 in Parcoal, West Virginia and was married 46 years to Virgle (Joe) Isabell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira William and Stella Gay Butcher; sister, Maxine Miller; and nephew, Jason Hensley.
She was the mother of seven children: Katherine (Phillip) Bolson of Walhalla, S.C.; Jeffrey (Susan) Isabell of Newnan, Ga.; Curtis (Lisa) Isabell of Baltimore, MD; Kimberley Isabell, John Isabell, Mary Isabell and Justin Isabell, all of Newnan. Grandchildren include Christopher and John Wright, Christopher Bolson, Curtis Isabell III, Kaitlin and Justin Isabell, Danielle Isabell and Zach Isabell. Also surviving are sisters, Joyce Sills of Cowen, WV; Carol Hensley of Blountville, TN; brothers, Phillip Butcher of Hot Springs, AR, Danny Dwayne Butcher and Paul Butcher of Baltimore, MD. She had many friends in the Baltimore, MD, Webster Springs, WV and Newnan areas who were like family to her.
A homemaker, Mrs. Isabell loved her family first and foremost. She was extremely proud of her children and their accomplishments. She was a loving foster parent to many children throughout the years. Opening her heart and home, she would accept and love a child no matter what the situation. She enjoyed gardening and loved to see the flowers blossom in the spring. She was a wonderful artist, seamstress, cook and crafter. She was an animal lover and had a fondness for all animals, particularly horses. She watched over her family and friends like a mother lion, always protective, adding her humor, dedication, loyalty and love. Her understanding and patience through suffering were remarkable; her sweet disposition, loving touch, precious smile and gentle voice will remain a cherished memory to all who knew her. Her premature loss will be felt by all.

Mr. McGuire was born Dec. 15, 1945 to the late Mae Elder Banks McGuire in Slocomb, Ala. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church in Slocomb, Ala. He graduated from Geneva County Training School, Slocomb, Ala. He was drafted in the U.S. Army, serving two years and was honorably discharged. Later he moved to Newark, N.J. where he was employed at Hatfield Wire and Cable Company for 14 years. He married to Lucy Johnson and they had three daughters. In 1994 he relocated from Newark, NJ to the family home in Slocomb, Ala. until his illness.

Mr. William "Billy" Roesel, 75, of Luther Bailey Road, Senoia, died Thursday, March 1, 2001 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Roesel was born August 10, 1925 in Georgia. He worked in sales. A veteran, Mr. Roesel served in the Pacific in World War II. He was a resident of Coweta County for 50 years. His work experience included Hollberg's in Senoia, G.E., Black & Decker and also served as president and C.E.O. of Senoia Pepper Sauce Company. Mr. Roesel was a member of Senoia Masonic Lodge, was a former Mayor of Senoia and a member of the Optimist Club of Senoia.

Miss Etta Louise Lovett, 96, of Athens, Ga., died February 28, 2001.

Miss Lovett was a member of the First Baptist Church of Athens. She taught middle elementary grades for 48 years in eight different Georgia public schools.

Mrs. Lillian Ball, 89, of Bertus Hunter Road, Senoia, Ga. died Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Ball was born July 13, 1911 in Georgia. She had worked as a secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ball, April 26, 2000.
The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home Wednesday, Feb. 28 from 5-8 p.m.
A funeral will be at McKoon Funeral Home Thursday, March 1 at 2 p.m. Dr. O. Eugene Tyre will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. William J. Calhoun Jr., 57, of Louisville, Kentucky, died February 26, 2001 in Louisville.
He was born May 18, 1943 in Newnan, Ga. He was a retired specialist for the American Red Cross; member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity; Clark College alumni; United States Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Addie Bell Florence Calhoun.
Surviving are his wife, Ingrid Shavers Calhoun; son, Eric Calhoun; sister, Mary Frances (Leonard) Lumpford; brothers, Morris Lee (Estella) Florence and Dr. Robert (Sandra) Calhoun; a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be Friday, March 2, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Burns United Methodist Church, Newnan. Mr. Samuel Hutchenson, eulogist. Burial in Eastview Cemetery. Family friends will serve as pallbearers.

Infant Halee Edwards, the 4-month-old child of Charlie Edwards and Janet Copeland of Pine Mountain, Ga., died Monday, February 26, 2001 at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston Hospital in Atlanta. She was born October 20, 2000 in Upson County, Ga.
The family was receiving friends Wednesday evening, Feb. 28 from 6-9 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home in Newnan.
A funeral will be Thursday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Chapel. The Rev. Milton Winslett will officiate and burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange, Ga.

Mrs. Barbara Garrett McCullough, 73, of Route 1, Soperton, Ga., died in the Wrightsville Manor Nursing Home Wednesday, February 14, 2001.
Mrs. McCullough was born March 3, 1927 in Fairburn, Ga. She was a daughter of the late Grady and Percy Garrett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Snowhill Church of God, Wheeler County.
Surviving are her husband, Mr. Willie C. McCullough of Soperton; sister, Mrs. Evelyn McCullough of Senoia; four step-children; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16. The Rev. Felton Johnson officiated, assisted by the Rev. W. R. Connnell. Burial was in Lake Cemetery, Metter, Ga.

Mr. Leonard Harvey Olson
Mr. Leonard Harvey Olson, 79, of Byron Nelson Court, Newnan, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at his residence.
Mr. Olson was born February 5, 1922 in Larsen, Wisconsin. He worked as a supervisor and was a U.S. armed forces veteran.
He moved to Newnan in 1963 and was employed with American Can, retiring in 1976 with 30 years service. He was a paratrooper in World War II, serving in Japan. He was an avid gardener, growing both flowers and vegetables. He had a love for woodworking, enjoyed arts and crafts and was an avid fisherman.
He was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine Olson in 1997 and a daughter, Patricia in 1994.
The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home Thursday, March 1 between 6 and 8 p.m.
A funeral will be held at graveside in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road Friday, March 2 at 4 p.m. The Rev. L. C. Lane will officiate.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Laurene Olson and Marty and Leigh Ann Olson, all of Newnan; daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Phillip Shepard and Carol and Ronald Stephens, all of Newnan; brother, Willard Olson, Larson, Wisconsin; granddaughters, Bonnie Dailey, Emma Guy, Mandy Olson, Chelsea Olson; grandsons, Charlie Olson, Drew Olson and Danny Stephens; two great-grandchildren, Alec and Eric Stephens.
