Mr. Willie Frank Causby, 75, of Senoia, died June 24, 2001 at Newnan Hospital.
A funeral will be Saturday, June 30 at 2 p.m. at Sassie Groove Baptist Church, Carl Williams Road, Senoia, Ga. Remains will be placed in state at 12:30 p.m. at the church. The Rev. J. H. Childs, pastor, and the Rev. L. C. Britt will officiaite. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.
Mr. Causby was born May 1, 1926 in Coweta County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Ora Lee Daniel Causby. He joined the Sassie Groove Baptist Church at an early age. He served faithfully until his health failed. He was ordained a deacon under the leadership of the Rev. L. C. Britt. He also served in the U.S. Navy. One daughter preceded him in death, Ms. Irene Adams.
Surviving are two daughters, Ms. Lucille Chunn of Grantville, Ga., Ms. Mary Ann McWilliams of Atlanta, Ga.; five grand-children, six great-grandchildren; aunt, Ms. Gussie B. Smith of Cincinnnatti, Ohio; three step-sisters, Pat Echols, Lou Robinson, Doris Clark, all of Newnan; step-brother, Jimmy Robinson; son-in-law, Mr. Robert Chunn of Jonesboro, Ga.; close cousins, Ms. Cal Watson of Senoia, Ms. Judy Watson (Bay) of Peachtree City, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Watson of Jonesboro, Ga., Mr. John P. Rev. Edward M. Holmes
A funeral for the Rev. Edward Maxwell "Max" Holmes, 80, of Clarkesville, Ga., was held June 26, 2001 at Clarkesville Baptist Church.
The Revs. David Turner and Furman Lewis officiated, and burial was in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Rev. Holmes died Sunday, June 24, 2001 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born on Sept. 15, 1920, in York County, S.C., he was the son of the late Walter Hamilton and Martha Maxwell Holmes. He was preceded in death by brothers, Maurice Holmes and Larry Holmes.
He was a graduate of Furman University and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and had served as a Baptist minister for 50 years. His pastorates included First Baptist Church of Blairsville, Clarkesville Baptist Church, Elam Baptist Church in Millen, and First Baptist Church of Moreland. After his retirement, he served as interim pastor of numerous churches in the Northeast Georgia area. He was a member of Clarkesville Baptist Church.
The Rev. Holmes was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, with rank of first lieutenant. He received the EAME Theater Ribbon with four Battle Stars and the Bronze Star medal. He also received the Purple Heart for injuries received in combat in Italy.
Surviving are his wife, Iris Machen Holmes of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Daniel Tankersley of Gainesville, Ellen and Mike Irvin of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, H. Max and Susan Holmes of Macon; sisters, Lou Mouchett of Charlotte, N. C., Carol Grubbs of Simpsonville, S.C.; brothers, Garth Holmes of Pawley's Island, S.C., and Joe Holmes of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Lee and Todd Tankersley of Gainesville, Kelly and Amber Benfield of Clarkesville, Walter and Stacie Holmes of Macon; a number of nieces and nephews; and two aunts, Grace Morrison and Sarah Maxwell.

Mrs. Russell was born December 16, 1943 in Pike County.

Mr. Aaron Perry Sibley
Mr. Aaron Perry Sibley, 72, of Moreland, died June 27, 2001 at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Ga.
A native of Coweta County, Mr. Sibley was born August 8, 1928, the son of the late Perry M. and Sarah Frances Young Sibley of Moreland, Ga. He was retired from Delta Airlines after 32 years of service as an aircraft mechanic. Mr. Sibley was a 50-year Mason in Bigham Lodge #53 in Moreland, and was a member of White Oak Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Erlene McDowell Sibley; daughters, Kathy Peters of Warner Robins, B. C. Carroll of Hapeville; and sons, Michael A. Sibley and Wayne Sibley, both of Newnan; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Sara Guilbert; brothers, Robert Sibley, David Sibley and John Sibley of Moreland; two nephews, and Mike Williams.
Besides his parents, Mr. Sibley was preceded in death by his brother, Milton Sibley and a grandson, Kevin Lewis.

Mrs. Sara Cole Bradberry, 82, of Grantville, Ga., died Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Mrs. Bradberry was born June 21, 1919 in Meriwether County, daughter of the late Forest Larkin Cole and the late Minnie Grant Cole. She lived in Coweta County most of her life, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grantville, and was the wife of the late James Lewis Bradberry.
Surviving are a niece and her husband, Shirley and Dan Pritchett of Senoia; great-nieces and great-nephew, Danette Knox of Newnan, Dawn Gibson and Hope Wilhelm, both of Auburn, and Jeff Thomas of Cleveland.

Mr. Erik James Droskinis, 23, of Strathmore Drive, Sharpsburg, Ga., died Saturday, June 23, 2001 at his residence.
Mr. Droskinis was born September 8, 1977 in Washington, D. C. He worked as a tradesman and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Kosovo and in Desert Storm. He was a graduate of East Coweta High School and of the U.S. Armed Forces Language Institute in Monterey, California, an institute that is very prestigious and extremely difficult to gain entry to. Mr. Droskinis was very fluent in Arabic, both written and spoken.

Mrs. Lurlie Harris Hurley, 86, of Hogansville, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at the Brian Center of Nursing Care in LaGrange.
Mrs. Hurley was born March 25, 1915, in Heard County to the late John Henry Harris and Dana Coleman Harris. She lived in Hogansville most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hogansville. She retired from Uniroyal, Inc., and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Hurley and her son, Larry T. Hurley.
A funeral will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. W.T. Bates will officiate, and burial will be in the Louise Baptist Church Cemetery in Troup County.

Mr. Marvin Shavers
Mr. Marvin Shavers, 73, of Newnan, died Friday, June 22, 2001.
Mr. Shavers was the son of the late Ben and Minnie Tinch Shavers. After finishing Howard Warner High School, he served in the U.S. Army. He graduated with honors from the Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Ala. While pursuing his education as a printer, he broke barriers by becoming employed at the Newnan Times-Herald. After graduating he became a newspaper employee a the Atlanta Daily World, the Chicago Defender, and The Muslim Speaks.
Mr. Shavers then attended Chicago University and became graphic arts director with the Chicago Public School System, leaving a legacy with his unique style. He was a member of the international Graphic Arts Education Association, the Atlanta Urban League Guild, and Les Bons Hommes Civic and Social Club.
A memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church. The Rev. Phillip Carr will officiate.

Mrs. Debra "Susie" Gaddy Shuler, 46, of Hogansville, died Saturday, June 23, 2001 at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Shuler was born Feb. 25, 1955 in LaGrange to the late Raymond and Lois Flournoy Gaddy. She was a lifelong resident of Hogansville and had been employed by Franklin Polo.

Mr. George 'Theall' Allen
Mr. George "Theall" Allen, 79, of Mt. Carmel Road, died Friday, June 22, 2001 at Atlanta Medical Center.
Born August 13, 1921, Mr. Allen was a retired insurance salesman and a WWII Army veteran. He was chairman of the Deacons at Providence Baptist Church and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Newnan, and he was a member of the Coweta County Development Authority. Mr. Allen was also very active in the Boy Scouts, serving as a scout master of Troop 92 for six years and as assistant scout master for 10 years.
Visitation was Saturday, June 23 at McKoon Funeral Home between 6 and 8 p.m. Funeral services will be today at 3 p.m. with Rev. Ken Norton officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Crain, Webster Day, Allen Duncan, Billy Luckie, Jack McBride, Charlie Mottola, Donnie Youngblood and Kendall White. Honorary palbearers will be the deacons of Providence Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bessie Driver, 88, of Jonesboro and a former resident of Hogansville, died Saturday, June 23, 2001 at Starcrest Convalescent Center in McDonough.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 24, in the Chapel of the Claude A McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. Jimmy Brown, Reverend J.C. McMillan and the Reverend Wesley Boatman will officiate. Interment will be in the Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Mrs. Driver was born September 14, 1912, in Randolph County, Alabama, daughter of the late John and Mary Cardwell. Before making her home in Jonesboro four years ago, she lived in Hogansville most of her life. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Hogansville, and she was the wife of the late Reverend Monroe J. Driver.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ellen Graham; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Lois Neese and a son, Jerry Driver.

Ms. Daniel was born August 14, 1934 in Atlanta to the late Benjamin and Annie Mae Daniel. She joined Wheat Street Baptist Church at age 12 and attended David T. Howard High School. Years later she moved to New York and lived there for several years before returning home to Atlanta. She was loving, sociable and well liked in her community. Those who loved Doris knew her best as the Original Diva A.K.A. "The Fox."

Mr. Rucker was born July 6, 1954 to the late Mr. Bennie R. Rucker and Mrs. Celia mae (Weems) Rucker. He received his early education from English Avenue Elementary School and Booker T. Washington High.

Mr. Shepherd was born July 20, 1938 in Lowndes County, Mississippi, and lived in Greenville before making his home in Luthersville, Ga. in 1989. He was an Army veteran, was a retired truck driver, and was a member of Greenville Masonic Lodge 321. Mr. Shepherd was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Gail Shepherd; a son, James Donald Shepherd; and his father, Willard Shepherd.

Mrs. Smith was born in Coweta County July 21, 1906 to the late Millie Domineck. She was married to the late Fred Smith. The couple had two sons, William Henry (deceased) and Sylvester. She joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church as a young girl. She lived and worked in Chicago, Illinois several years and returned to Newnan where she lived and served Pleasant Grove until her death. Annie had four brothers, Stephen, Louis, Teddy, Dude and a sister, Ella Maude Parker, who all preceded her in death.
Surviving are her son, Sylvester Smith (Ruby); daughter-in-law, Martha Smith; five grandchildren, James Glenn (Evelyn), Diane Washington (Willie), Brenda Martin, Wilma Simmons (Roscoe), Debbie Mack (Floyd); ten great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Janet Zackery Hammett
Mrs. Janet "Jennie Lou" Zackery Hammett, 69, of Newnan, died June 16, 2001 at home.
She was the youngest child and only daughter born to Othella Mae Whatley Zackery and R. Z. Zackery August 1, 1931 in Coweta County. Mrs. Hammett was educated at Texas Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She enjoyed her son, grandchildren, family and friends, reading, writing and a good pair of shoes.
She joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member until she joined Faith by Hearing Christian Center Church in Newnan, GA with her son Pastor Larry Warner where she was an active, energetic mother in the church. Her family, friends and her church family will dearly miss her festive personality.
A funeral was Thursday, June 21 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Moreland with the Rev. J. C. Neal officiting, assisted by the Rev. Johnny Coleman and other ministers. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be family friends.

Mrs. Ruth White Pate, 95, of Cedar Street, Carrollton, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at her residence.
Before moving to Carrollton Club in December 1996 she was a life-long resident of Carroll County, her home was at 89 Little New York Road.
She was a homemaker, belonged to the Eastern Star, and was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Mrs. Pate was born in Heard County March 2, 1906, the daughter of the late Homer William White and Betty Lou Witcher White.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry S. Pate, and infant son, Samuel Anthony Pate.
A funeral was Thursday, June 21 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ga. with the Rev. Doug New, Rev. Leonard Almond and Rev. Gordon Willingham officiating.
Burial was in Carroll Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Barry Shadix, Greg Shadix, Ronnie Adams, Kenneth Walls, Terry Pate, Timothy Pate, Gary Hines, Phil White, Roger White and Ridley Parrish.
Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Eris Shadix and Mrs. Jessie Lee Walls of Carrollton, Mrs. Pauline Parrish and Mrs. Gwen Cartright, Bremen; brothers, Hulette White and H. W. (Bill) White Jr., Bremen; sisters-in-law, Ruth White and Jean White, Bremen, Ann White, Cedartown, and Ella Mae White, Sylvester, Rozelle Hines and Jewell Pate, Whitesburg; brother-in-law Wade (Bud) Cartright of Bremen; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Annie Lizzie Smith, of Paul Street, died Thursday, June 20, 2001 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.
She was the mother of Mr. Sylvester Smith.

Mrs. Mozelle Chapman Dial, 87,of Hogansville, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at the Brian Center of Nursing Care in LaGrange.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 21 in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Harold Willis and Mr. Roy Wright will officiate, and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Dial, Derrick Bellamy, Wayne Worthy, Tony Worthy, Jimmy Kelley, David Kelley, Mike Kelley and Mark Kelley.
Born July 29, 1913 in Meriwether County, Mrs. Dial was the daughter of the late Charlie and Daisy Davis Chapman. She lived in Hogansville most of her life, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hogansville, and was the wife of the late Frank Dial.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Albert Gill of Luthersville; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Susie Dial of Hogansville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Robert Newell Leath
Mr. Robert Newell Leath, 77, of Newnan, Ga., died June 16, 2001 at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Ga.
Mr. Leath was born to the late James Leath and Ruth Newell Leath Rowe March 24, 1924. He was reared by his maternal grandparents, Grant and Beatrice Newell. He attended school in Coweta County and later joined the U. S. Army during World War II. He ws a member of the Powell Chapel United Methodist Church. His failing health caused him to seek assistance for daily living at Parkhaven Health Center in College, Park, Ga.
A funeral will be Wednesday, June 20 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas Ball will officiate, assisted by the Rev. R. W. Sutton and evangelist Susie Hudson. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery. Cousins will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Johnnie M. Leverett, 92, of Luthersville, Ga., died Monday, June 18, 2001 at Newnan Hospital.
A funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 at graveside in Luthersville Cemetery. The Rev. James Sanders and the Rev. Rance Sprayberry will officiate.
Mr. Leverett was born Feb. 11, 1909 in Meriwether County, son of the late B. B. Leverett and the late Allie Lou Wyche Leverett. A resident of Luthersville for most of his life, he was a retired farmer and was a member of the Luthersville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Houston Leverett.
Surviving are his sister, Mrs. Gladys L. Hurst of Luthersville; and a niece and nephew.

Mr. Mack was the son of Mrs. Ruby (Charlie) Alford and the late Robert Mack of Haralson, Ga. He joined Piney Grove Baptist Church in Haralson, Ga. at an early age and later was a member of Mount Home Baptist in Morrow, Ga.

Mrs. Agnes Bell Powers, 93, of Tyus-Carrollton Road, Carrollton, Ga., died Monday, June 18, 2001 at her residence.
She was born March 22, 1908 in Carroll County to the late Seaborn Joseph Jackson and Minnie Lee Burnham Jackson. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Grafton Powers; two sons-in-law, Dan Beavers and David Chandler; three brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
Surviving are five children, Barbara Beavers of Carrolton, Wayne and Agnes Powers of Bremen, Marynelle and H. Wayne Cook of Newnan, Willard and Judy Powers and Lynda Chandler, all of Carrollton; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral will be Wednesday, June 20 at 2 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Verhine, Rev. Gordon Willingham and Rev. Doug Bearden officiating.
Pallbearers will be Barry Beavers, Chris Farmer, John Powers, James Kingston, Dennis Jackson and Tim Barnes. Burial will be in Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour.
