Mr. Horace Todd, 76, of Lakeland, Florida and formerly of Hogansville and Jonesboro, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at Lakeland Regional Hospital.
Mr. Todd was born Oct. 26, 1924 in Hogansville to the late Henry and Janie Daniel Todd. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and retired from Meyers Brothers Company in Atlanta. Mr. Todd lived in Jonesboro for a number of years and was a member of Harvest Worship Center in Forest Park.
A funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Hope Taylor, the Rev. Bobby Leatherwood, and Dr. Jimmy Brown will officiate and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Landers Todd of Lakeland; daughter and son-in-law Pat and Render Swygert, also of Lakeland; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and W.E. Carter of Hogansville and Virginia and W.D. Bowen of Woodstock; brothers and sister-in-law Harold and Jean Todd of Hogansville and James Todd of Atlanta; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Eva Mae Chappell Cole, 77, of 532 Welcome Road in Newnan, died Friday, August 17, 2001 at Tanner Medical Center.
She was born October 22, 1923 in Cleburn County, Al. to the late William Robert Chappell and Carrie McCullough Chappell. She was retired from Douglas & Lomason and was a member of West Carrollton Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Clyde 'EC.' Cole; a daughter, Linda Diane Cole; six sisters, Mary Reece, Myrtice Cannon, Ester Irvin, Lucille McClendon, Doris Pierkowski and Sarah Stephens; and three brothers, Oswald 'Bill' Chappell, Amel Chappell and Fred Chappell.
Survivors include three children, Sheila and Stanley Buchanan of Bowdon, Frank and Belinda Cole of Cedartown, and Teri and Ed Lewis of Newnan; one sister, Monzia Upner of Anniston, Al.; two brothers, James Chappell of Carrollton and Dale Chappell of Texas; six grandchildren, Brandi and Timothy Brown, Brian Buchanan, Karen Buchanan, Jenna Lewis, Drew Cole and Kaitlyn Cole; four great-grandchildren, Erin, Hailey, Brick and Cade Brown; three God children, Jimmy and Linda Trezise, James Edward Trezise and Andrew Sambucci; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 19, 2001 at 3 p.m. from West Carrollton Baptist Church, with Rev. Rodney Agan and Rev. Jimmy Greathouse officiating.
The West Carrollton Baptist Church choir will render the music.
Pallbearers will be Tim Brown, Bryan Buchanan, Jimmy Trezise, John Upner, Nicholas Sambucci and Bobby Padgett.
Interment will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery.

Mr. Ira V. Horne, 91, of Warner Robins and a former resident of Hogansville, died Saturday, August 18, 2001 at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 21 in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Charles Chapman will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday.
Mr. Horne was born February 14, 1910 in Dodge County, son of the late Edward Vernon Horne and the late Charlotte Burch Horne. A resident of Hogansville for most of his life, he owned and operated barber shops in Woodbury, Grantville, Luthersville and Hogansville for 46 years before his retirement in 1999. Mr. Horne and his wife, Mrs. Ruby Horne, had been married more than 69 years at the time of her death on December 23, 2000.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons in law, Billie and Billy Shaw of LaGrange, Barbara and Danny Goolsby and Doris Daniel, all of Warner Robins; one son and daughter in law, Wendell and Karen Horne of St. Augustine, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Jane Toney of LaGrange, Mrs. Mary Moody and Mrs. Erna Smith, both of Atlanta; three brothers, Joe Horne of Orlando, Fla., Fonnie Horne and Herman Horne, both of LaGrange; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Glanton was born Dec. 10, 1957 to Virginia Glanton and Willard Florence in Turin, Ga. He lived in Atlanta, Ga. the majority of his life. He joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at an early age.

Miss Alexandria Gabrielle "Lexie" Shoemake, age 1 year and 9 months, died Friday morning, Aug. 17, 2001 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Ga.
Little "Lexie" as her mom and family called her, was born with Leigh's Disease. During her short life, she was a joy to all who were privileged enough to be around her. She was always laughing and smiling and touching people's hearts and will be missed very much.
A maternal grandfather, Jerry Daniel, preceded her in death in 1998.

Miss Wyndy S. Vineyard, 71, of Evelyn Street, Marietta, Ga., died Thursday, August 16, 2001 at Kennestone Hospital.
Miss Vineyard was born February 26, 1930 in Newnan, Ga. She was an educator and taught two years in Newnan and 34 years in the Marietta City Schools. She was a member of Newnan First United Methodist Church for 55 years and recently attended Monticello Presbyterian Church. She attended Newnan High School, LaGrange College and attained a Master's Degree in English from Emory University. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wynn and Margaret Vineyard.

Mr. William "Beaux" Ballard, III, 36, of Grand Lake, Colorado., formerly of Sharpsburg, Ga., died July 20, 2001.
Mr. Ballard was born in Fayetteville and moved to Sharpsburg after high school. An adventurer with a love for the outdoors, he always had a passion for cold weather and the mountains, which eventually took him to Colorado. It was there that he finally found his place in life. He seemed content only when he was in Colorado. His love for nature was equaled only by his big heart and caring nature for others.

Mrs. Kee was born April 18, 1900, in Meriwether county, daughter of the late Bartow and Laura McGahee Rowe. She was a lifelong resident of Meriwether County, a member of of Bethel Baptist Church, and the wife of the late Harvey N. Kee.
The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Bethel Baptist Church in the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County. Mr. Clarence E. Sherard, 91, of Cottage Lane (Grand Court), Carrollton, Ga., formally of Austell, died Tuesday, August 14, 2001, at his residence.
Mr. Sherard, a native of Graham, Ala., was born March 14, 1910, the son of the late William G. Sherard and Amsey Smith Sherard. He was retired from the Georgia Cooperative Extension Service. Mr. Sherard was a member of the Atlanta Farmers Club and the Glen Forest Baptist Church in Austell where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for a number of years.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Aug. 16, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home in Carrollton with Dr. Charles Walls and Dr. Milton Dwelle officiating. Music will be provided by Virginia Slate.

Mr. Adaway was born August 1, 1951 to the late Bessie Truitt Adaway Sewell and Louis Adaway. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio, and lived in Luthersville most of his life. He graduated from Greenville Consolidated High and attended Americus Tech, where he received his Business and Accounting Degree. He worked for the past ten years at Hoshizaki America Inc.
He joined the Clark Chapel United Methodist Church at an early age and served faithfully. He was an active member and served on many committees. He was the rock of his family, was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Surviving are family members Mr. and Mrs. Doc (Annell) Woods, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Ernestine) Adaway, Ms. Janice Parks, Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Phyllis) Wiggins, Mr. Randy Adaway; special mention, Mr. and Mrs. James (Wanda) Willis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Irene Lowery Davis, a long-time resident of Pine Lake and recently of Union City, Ga., died Saturday, August 11, 2001.
She was a member of Pine Lake Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are sons, J. Wayne and June Davis of Newnan, and L. Glenn and Lynn Davis of Sanford, North Carolina; grandson, Andrew Lowery Davis of Sanford, North Carolina; two other grandsons, Neal A. Davis and Gregory A. Davis of Americus, Ga.; step-granddaughters, Pepper A. Ware and Kelley L. Davis; great-grandson, Kolby Ware.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Lake Baptist Church. Burial will be in Melwood Cemetery.
The family was receiving friends Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Muriel E. Ermatinger, 80, of Sharpsburg, Ga. died August 13, 2001 at Southwest Christian Hospice.
Surviving are her husband, Russell Ermatinger; children, Carole A. Ermatinger, Robert R. Ermatinger, Suzanne D. Mells and Thomas R. Ermatinger; sisters, Virginia Bramell, Dorothy Johnson and Estell Bowen; brother, Richard Eades; three granddaughters, Courtney Mells, Ariel Ermatinger and Rachel Ermatinger.
Mrs. Ermatinger was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She taught school in Michigan for many years. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Michigan.

Mrs. Lillie Rowe Kee, 101, of Luthersville, Ga., died Monday, August 13, 2001 at Fairburn Healthcare Center.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 15 at Bethel Baptist Church in the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County. The Rev. Powers Witcher and the Rev. Ray Collins will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Mrs. Kee was born April 18, 1900 in Meriwether County, daughter of the late Bartow and Laura McGahee Kee. She was a lifelong resident of Meriwether County, was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was the wife of the late Harvey N. Kee.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Mrs. Wenonia Fuller of Woodbury and Sybil and Carthell Hancock of Moreland; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Marvin and Helen Kee of Moreland, Bennett and Christine Kee of Conyers and Mrs. Ernest (Lucille) Kee of Atlanta; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Miss Reid was born Jan. 25, 1995 in Atlanta. She was a student and a member of the Family Worship Center Church of God.
A funeral will be held Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Family Worship Center. The Rev. Roy Lee Messer will officiate, and burial will be in Berea Cemetery in Hampton, Georgia.

Mr. Donald Bennett, 64, of Warner Robins, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 at graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with Dr. Jimmy Brown officiating.
Mr. Bennett was born June 1, 1937 in Coweta County, son of the late Jordan Bass Bennett and the late Zela Jones Bennett. He was a veteran of service in the U.S. Navy, was retired from Lockheed Corporation in Marietta, and was a member of Prays Mill Baptist Church in Douglasville.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Michelle Olmstead of Newnan; two sister, Mrs. Betty Canady of Newnan and Mrs. Katherine Douglas of Winnsboro, South Carolina; one brother, J. Clifford Bennett of Rome; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Charles E. Feltman, 53, of Whitesburg, Ga., died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001 at Tanner Memorial Medical Center.
Born Nov. 7, 1947 in Newnan, Mr. Feltman was a ground maintenance employee for the City of Newnan.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001 at McKoon Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery on Gordon Road.

Mr. Harry Wade Creasey
Mr. Harry Wade Creasey, 96, of Newnan Ga. and formerly of Terre Haute died
Wednesday August 1, 2001, in Beaulieu Convalescent Center.
He was a pilot, farmer and restaurateur. He was born July 4, 1905, in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a member of the Westside Baptist Church of Newnan.
An aviation pioneer, he had a long, 67-year, colorful career that ranged from stunt pilot and crop duster to war time Army flight instructor and later corporate pilot. He was a long-time associate of famous air racer and international aviation celebrity Roscoe Turner. He continued in semi retirement as a flight instructor for many years at Newnan Airport. When he gave his last flying lesson (to his grandson ) at age 90, he was the oldest active flight instructor in the nation.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Louise Deardorf Creasey of Newnan; two daughters, Marilyn Carver and her husband Marion of Washington, Ga., and Elaine Wegrzyn of Newnan; one son Gary H. Creasey of Indianapolis; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in Newnan with Melvin Payne officiating; and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 4 in Roselawn Funeral Home, Terre Haute, IN. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park.
