Mrs. Louise Austin Hanson
Mrs. Louise Austin Hanson, 88, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, of Alzheimer's.
Mrs. Hanson was born Sept. 9, 1913, in Coweta County to the late Theo D. Austin Sr., and Ella Turner Austin. She was a long-time member of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church. Prior to becoming ill with Alzheimer's four and a half years ago, she was an avid gardener and a devoted caregiver to her mother and her invalid son.
Mrs. Hanson was preceded in death by her husband, I.M. Hanson, three children, her brothers, Theo D. Austin, Jr., and Freeman Austin, and her sister, Virginia Griffith Parker.
A funeral will be held Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, and the family will be receive visitors Monday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Surviving are her children, Joyce Scarbrough (Mrs. John), David Hanson, Sarah Cordry and Michael Hanson; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ann McLean, 62, of Bladenboro, North Carolina and formerly of Newnan, died October 15, 2001 at her home.
She lived in Newnan for 18 years and was a nurse anesthetist at Newnan Hospital.
A funeral was held at Galeed Baptist Church Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bud Parrish and Dr. Russell T. Cherry officiating. Burial was at Galeed Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. James A. Hutchens, 75, died October 17, 2001 following a short illness, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Mr. Hutchens was born in Newnan, Ga. where he graduated from Newnan High School. He attended West Georgia and North Georgia Colleges and was a resident of Jacksonville since 1960. He retired as a bank examiner from the U.S. Treasury Dept. and was the owner of House of Cards and Gifts in Jacksonville for five years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served three years during World War Two. Mr. Hutchens was a born-again Christian, member of the First Baptist Church, and secretary of his Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. Hutchens and Alice Hutson Hutchens; and sister, Sara Hutchens.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Maryjane Hutchens; daughters, Sally Green and her children, Corey, Jill and Kayla, all of Dallas, Texas, and Jamie Marcus (Harry) and children, Brittany and Brandon Weatherington, all of Jacksonville; brother, Tommy Hutchens (Elaine) of Conyers, Ga.; sisters, Frances Jackson (A.W.) of Fairburn, Ga. and Alice Bexley (Glenn) of Newnan, Ga.

Mrs. Stallings was born January 6, 1937 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wells.

Mr. Glen Douglas Bolling, 37, of Roopville, Ga., formerly of Enterprise, Alabama, died at his home October 15, 2001.
Mr. Bolling was born December 12, 1963 to his parents, James Winston Bolling and Betty Jo Hall Bolling. He was a field engineer of the Nextel Communications Company and had served his country in the United States Airforce where he reached the rank of sergeant. For his valor he received the AF Achievement Medal, AF Good Conduct Medal W1/OLC, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, AF Overseas Service Ribbon-Long, AF Training Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon, and the AF Outstanding Unit Award W1/OLC. He was a beloved husband, son and father.

Willie "Bap" Hall was born March 12, 1920, to Willie and Lillian Harris. He joined the Piney Grove Baptist Church at an early age. On October 19, 1953, he married the late Mrs. Inola Warner Hall and they had five daughters and three sons. Two sons preceded him in death, Mr. Willie Lee Hall and an infant son, as well as three sisters, one brother and a granddaughter, Ms. April Lannette Hall.

Mr. Leroy Jackson Peavy Jr., 64, of Ocilla died Monday, October 8, 2001 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Ga.
Mr. Peavy was born June 21, 1937 in Randolph County, the son of Elizabeth Hasty Peavy and the late Leroy Jackson Peavy Sr. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Peavy.
Mr. Peavy was a building official for the City of Ocilla. He was a member of the National Guard and a member of Damascus Baptist Church at Cuthbert.
The funeral service was held held Oct. 10 in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals in Tifton with the Rev. Ronnie Griner and the Rev. Danny Ray officiating. Burial was at Oakridge Cemetery in Tifton.

Mrs. Louise V. Wilson, 97, of Hogansville, Ga., died Tuesday, October 16, 2001 at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Memorial Nursing Home in Warm Springs, Ga.
A funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Rev. John Mark Carpenter and the Rev. Harold Willis officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
Mrs. Wilson was born May 13, 1904 at Enon Grove in Heard County, daughter of the late Robert L. Vaughan and the late Annie Kate Orr Vaughan. She married Homer B. Wilson in July 1924, and became a resident of Hogansville at that time. Mr. Wilson died April 13, 1992. Mrs. Wilson was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Hogansville.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Homer B. Wilson Jr. of Huntsville, Ala. and Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Mrs. Anna Celest Butler, 83, of Union City, Ga., formerly of Thomaston, Ga., died Monday, October 15, 2001 at Southwest Christian Convalescent Center.
Mrs. Butler was born in Upson County to Sam and Willie Bell Pitts in 1918. Although she attended school to become a Dental Hygienist, her first priority was being a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
Mrs. Butler was married to the late Mr. William Thomas Butler Sr. for 42 years at the time of his death.

Mr. Cooper was born September 23, 1929 in Newnan. In addition to his long-time service with the Newnan Fire Department he was a veteran of the United States armed forces. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Nathan and Elizabeth Clyde Ward Cooper.

Mr. Quimby M. Jackson, 83, of Dr. Bruce Jackson Road, Newnan, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001 at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital.
Mr. Jackson was born Dec. 12, 1917, in Newnan to the late Dr. Henry Bruce Jackson and Cora Brown Jackson. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War Two and attended Heard County Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Jackson retired from Georgia Power as an auxiliary operator at Plant Yates. He was preceded in death by his sister and four brothers.
A grave-side service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial park. The Rev. Don Helms will officiate.

Mr. Harry Brown, 76, of LaGrange, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001 at his home.
Mr. Brown was born Aug. 26, 1925, in Pike County, Kentucky, and had lived in Troup County since 1987. He retired as a Sergeant Major from the U.S. Army after 26 years, having served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. He also retired as a sales representative from Paymaster Corporation, was a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Hogansville Church of God.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall at Hogansville Church of God today from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. with Reverend Randall Hodge and Reverend Rance Sprayberry officiating.

Mr. Charles Rendell Cass, 70, of Carrollton, Ga., died October 10, 2001 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Cass was born October 6, 1931 in Glendale, California, to the late William R. Cass and Marie Lousetta MacLeroy Cass. He served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a Baptist by faith, and a member of the Masons. He was a beloved husband and father.

Mrs. Peggy Joyce Eaton, 51, of Holly Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Holly Spring, Mississippi, died at Alliance Health Care Sunday, October 7, 2001 of heart failure.
A funeral was Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home Chapel; and burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Eaton was born Sept. 15, 1950 in Oakland, MS to the late Walter Edward Ware and Mary Addie Hutchins. She was a retired factory worker. She was the widow of Melvin Lee Eaton.

She was born April 3, 1913 in Coweta County, Ga. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Earl Hall.

Mrs. Betty Bridges Pike, 69, of West Brown Street in Davisboro died Monday, October 9, 2001 in the Washington Regional Medical Center in Sandersville, Ga. following a brief illness.
A funeral will be held at graveside 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12 in the Davisboro City Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Josey will officiate.
Mrs. Pike was a native of Coweta County, daughter of the late John S. Bridges and the late Elizabeth Pearl Cook Bridges. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.
The family was receiving friends at the Pike residence and at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11.

She was an active member of the Fairburn United Methodist Church and Sunday School member, a member of Wesleyan Service Guild and the Methodist Church Women's Garden Club and member of Historical Society, Quilting Club and Lively Bunch and AARP and the Jolly Elders.

Mrs. Patricia Jean Waychoff, 78, of Dixie Meadow Lane, Carrollton, Ga., died Monday, Oct. 8, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Waychoff was born January 24, 1923 in Corning, Arkansas to the late Leslie Oaks and Mabel Greenwood Oaks. She was a retired Executive Secretary for the Monsanto Co. and a member of the Carrollton First United Methodist Church where she attended the Adult Friendship Sunday School Class. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Oaks; an infant son, a son-in-law Charles H. Warren Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Virgile R. Phillips.
Surviving are her husband, Walter F. Waychoff; children, Douglas Erel Waychoff of Carrollton, Leslie Ann Waychoff and fiancé Darin Shea Palmer of Houston, Tx., Diann Elizabeth and Glenn Tonnesen of Henderson, NV, and Lynn Adair Warren of Newnan; sisters, Marlene "Nancy" and Bill Travers of St. Louis, Mo., and Lucille C. Mrs. Ruby Catherine Hudson Adams, 84, of Glenn, Ga., died October 9, 2001 at Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Ga.
Mrs. Adams was born August 28, 1917 in Randolph County, Alabama to the late Charlie Calvin Hudson and Annie Pearl Dewberry Hudson. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lewis Calvin Adams.
She was a faithful member of the Glenn Baptist Church and served the Glenn Community as a postal agent at the Glenn Post Office. She was a loving and devoted mother.
