A funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 1 p.m. at Greater Jehovah Baptist Church in Grantville with the Rev. Billy J. Glanton, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Johnny C. Strickland. Burial will be in Grantville City Cemetery. Flower ladies will be cousins and friends, and pallbearers will be nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Partridge was born Nov. 21, 1956 to Mr.and Mrs. Hubert (Frances) Beasley. Her father and one brother preceded her in death. Early in life she joined the Greater Jehovah Baptist Church. She attended Grantville Brown Elementary School and Newnan High School.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Frances Beasley; son, Craig Partridge; two daughters, Marnisha Latrice and Tanisha Nicole Partridge; two brothers, Earnest Beasley of Grantville and Donnell Rosser of Newnan; five sisters, Ms. Sarah Brewer, Ms. Joy Smith and Ms. Evette Beasleyof Grantville, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny (Shirley) Gay of Moreland and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis (Faye) Pless of Carrollton; aunts, Mrs. Mattie Foster of Atlanta, Mrs. Willie Pearl Rhodes of Grantville and Mrs. Lula Bell Mitchell of Newnan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Rice, 52, of Watson Drive, Newnan, Ga., died Friday, November 16, 2001 in Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan.
Born in Toccoa, Ga. May 17, 1949, Mrs. Rice was a case manager with the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services and was a member of Crossroads Church in Newnan.
Surviving are sons, Chad Anderson of Douglasville, Ga. and Todd Anderson of Woodstock, Ga.; mother, Polly Wheeler Lyles of Westminster, S.C.; brothers, Marion Lyles and Paul Lyles III of Westminster, S.C.; sisters, Mildred Merritt of Tyrone, Ga. and Jo Ann Hudson of Luthersville, Ga.; four grandchildren.

Mr. Henry G. Dingler, 78, of Moreland, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at Alvista Care Home in Greenville.
Mr. Dingler was born Nov. 16, 1923, in Haralson County to the late John and Leila Wood Dingler. He lived in Coweta County most of his life, was a member of First Baptist Church of Grantville, and was a retired auto mechanic. Mr. Dingler's wife, Alma Stowers Dingler, died Nov. 18, 2000.
A grave-side service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Southview Cemetery in Moreland. The Rev. Jimmie L. Willis will officiate.

Mr. William Howard Waller, 74, of Senoia and formerly of Luthersville, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Waller was born in Luthersville to the late B.L. and Mattie Waller. He lived in Luthersville for most of his life before entering the military.
Known to all his friends as "Sky High," he served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. After the war, Mr. Waller spent his life doing what he loved most, which was being outdoors, as a forest ranger with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Mr. Waller enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and raising and training hunting dogs. He cared for and devoted his later years to attending his mother until her death.
Surviving are Mike, Kelley, Michael, Christopher, and Nicholas Matthews of Senoia and many friends.
A grave-side service will be held Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Luthersville Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Dunn, Jr., officiating. Mr. Waller will be buried with full military honors.

A funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at Greater Mount Zion A.M.E. Church with her daughter Evangelist Arnita Britt Hines officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.

Mrs. Dora Mae Britt was born Nov. 1, 1928 to the late Mrs. Margorie Sims. At an early age she joined Greater Mount Zion A.M.E. Church. Later in life she married Mr. Freddie Britt Sr. on May 22, 1948. They had 13 children, two sons preceded her in death, McKinley Sr. and Levi.

Judge Lewis R. "Pete" Morgan
Judge Lewis R. "Pete" Morgan, 88, of Cameron Mill Road, LaGrange, Ga., died Thursday morning in West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange, Ga.
Judge Morgan was born July 14, 1913 in LaGrange, son of the late William Ellington and Sara Elizabeth Render Morgan. He received his primary education in the LaGrange Public school system, pre-law studies at the University of Michigan from 1930-1932, and receiving a law degree from the University of Georgia in 1935. He practiced law from 1935 until 1961.
Following his graduation, Judge Morgan began a distinguished career of public contribution to the State of Georgia, which included service as a member of the General Assembly representing Troup County from 1935-1939; member of the Signal Corps of the United States Army, World War II; city attorney for the City of LaGrange, Ga. 1943-1946; and county attorney for Troup County, Georgia from 1957-1964.
On August 10, 1961 President John F. Kennedy appointed him to serve as judge of the District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. He led that court as Chief Judge April 21, 1965 until August 1, 1968, at which time he was appointed by President Lyndon B. Johnson as Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit (redesignated the Eleventh Circuit October 1, 1981) until illness forced his retirement in 1996.
Over the years Judge Morgan served the Federal Judiciary in many ways including being a member of the Judicial Conference of the United States Committee on the Budget from 1969 to 1979, serving as a judge of the Temporary Emergency Court of Appeals from 1979 to 1987, and as a member of the Special Division of the District of Columbia's Court of Appeals for Appointing an Independent Counsel from 1978 to 1988.
Through his career Judge Morgan was involved in his community and bar activities including the Georgia Bar Association, Troup County Bar Association, American Bar Association, The American Law Institute, The American Judicature Society, the Coweta Circuit Bar Association of which he was president from 1956-1957 and again in 1960-1961.
Early in his judgeship, Judge Morgan would have to make arrangements to borrow the Coweta County Courthouse to try his federal cases. The Federal Court Building was constructed at its current location in 1968, largely due to the undertaking of Judge Morgan. On November 12, 1999 the federal building became known as the "Lewis R. Morgan Federal Building and United States Court House."

Mr. Robert Edward Shell, 60, of New York City and a former resident of Hogansville, died Monday, November 12, 2001 at his home.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville. The Rev. Rance Sprayberry and the Rev. JoAnna Pence will officiate and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Shell was born October 4, 1941 in West Point, Ga., son of the late Marvin L. Shell and the late Elizabeth Jones Shell. He lived in the Washington, D. C. area for many years and had a long and distinguished career in the federal government. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville and had lived in New York for the past eight years.
Surviving are his children, Christopher Robert Shell of Radford, Va., Caroline Rivers Shell of Richmond, Va., and Katherine Elizabeth Miller and her husband, Francis Ridell Miller, of Burke, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin Jr. and Marie Shell, of Flemming; his companion, Christopher Murtaugh of New York City; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Margarita Virginia Malone Cary, 73, of Vienna, Virginia, died November 12, 2001.
Mrs. Cary, a loving Christian mother, was born May 15, 1928. She was a former resident of Atlanta, Ga., and a retiree of the Georgia Department of State. She was granddaughter of the late Robert E. "Uncle Bob" Malone and daughter of the late Cecil Malone Winkelman of Newnan, Ga. Mrs. Cary was grandmother of the late Baby Stephen Belle Isle.
Surviving are three daughters, Beverly C. Wagee of Leesburg, Va., Linda C. Yates of Rockvale, Tenn., and Judy C. Liester of Herndon, Va.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Born in Roanoke, Alabama to Emory and Lucy Buchanan, Mrs. Ayers spent most of her life in the West Georgia area. She was a member of Lowell United Methodist Church in Lowell, Georgia. Devoting her life to her family, she will be remembered for her love of cooking and caring for all of her children. Her husband of 59 years, Mr. Grady Thomas Ayers; two sons, Raymond Ayers and Henry Ayers; and a daughter, Joyce Ayers Bailey, preceded Mrs. Ayers in death.
Surviving are three sons, James E. Mrs. Hurst was born Sept. 7, 1906, in Meriwether County to the late B.B. and Allie Lou Wyche Leverett. She was a lifelong resident of Luthersville and was a member of the Luthersville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was the wife of the late Willard P. Hurst.
A funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at 4 p.m. at Luthersville United Methodist Church. The Rev. James Sanders and the Rev. Rance Sprayberry will officiate, and burial will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.

Ms. Ella Barner, 41, of Newnan, Ga, died November 3, 2001 at Oakview Nursing Home, Waverly Hall, Ga.
A funeral will be Saturday, Nov. 10 at noon at Summer Hill Baptist Church in Moreland, with remains placed in state at 10 a.m. The Rev. Johnny Coleman, pastor the Rev. G. Turks, officiating; burial in the church cemetery.
Ms. Barner joined Summer Hill Baptist Church at an early age. She was preceded in death by her only daughter, Ms. Debra Barner; two brothers, Eddie Barner and Reginald Barner Sr.
Surviving are son Marcus B. Barner; five sisters, Mr. James E. and Mrs. Mary L. Bonner, Mrs. Martha James, Mr. Henry and Mrs. Magnolia Moss, Ms. Glenda L. Rosser and Ms. Shirley Barner; three brothers, Rev. Larry and Mrs. Betty J. Barner, Mr. Alvin and Ms. Felecia Barner, Mr. Tommy and Mrs. Angela Barner, all of Newnan; sister-in-law, Mrs. Glenda L. Barner; aunts, Mrs. Lethan Bryant and Mrs. Earlene Barner; uncle, Mr. Jerry Barner; a host of other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are asked to assemble at the residence, 5 Westgate Park Lane, 11 a.m. Saturday.

Mr. Homer Johnson
Mr. Homer Johnson, 64, of Homer Johnson Road, died Wednesday, November 7, 2001, at Newnan Hospital.
A funeral will be Sunday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. in Saint Smyrna Baptist Church, Bruce Jackson Road, Newnan, with the Rev. J. W. Russell Jr., pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Eddie Collier, Rev. Ronnie Johnson, Rev. Julius Herrion, Rev. Dwayne Johnson and Rev. Earnest G. Lewis. Burial in the Eastview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends; flower ladies will be nieces and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, Nov. 10 from 6-8 p.m.
Sunday the cortege will assemble at the residence at 1 p.m.
Deacon Johnson, the fourth child of ten, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Washington Johnson Sr. (Amanda Magdalene Lovelace) Oct. 12, 1937, in Newnan. Four brothers, Lucious, Ernest, Robert and Cecil, and one sister, Mildred, preceded him in death.
Mr. Johnson attended school in Coweta County including at Smith Chapel and Northside schools. He joined Saint Smyrna Church at an early age and worked with the Male Chorus and Pastor's Aide Committee. He served as chairman of the Deacon Board for a number of years and was most recently Assistant Chairman.
He married Helen Alford Sept. 15, 1956 and they had seven children; one child, Randy, preceded him in death. He worked for years with the Johnson Drilling Company. He retired from the Sivaco National Wire Company when his health began to fail.
Surviving are wife, Helen Johnson of Newnan; children, Sandra Evette Johnson, Newnan, Rev. and Mrs. Kenny Lee Johnson (Meilssa), of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Malone (Miranda), Rev. and Mrs. Ernest Lewis Jr. (Laverne) both of Sharpsburg, Michelle Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Houston (Youlanda) both of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Johnson (Linda) of Palmetto, and Peggy Cochran of Hogansville; brothers and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. James Washington (Emma Frances), Rev. and Mrs. Willie J. Johnson, both of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Washington Johnson Jr. of Palmetto, and Ms. Diane McWilliams of Newnan; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ada Johnson of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Mozelle Johnson of Newnan and Mrs. Velma Johnson of Newnan; brother-in-law, Mr. Thomas Cruver of Newnan; 17 grandchildren; one aunt, Ms. Grethel Lovelace of Roswell, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Mr. William Pierce Butler
Mr. William Pierce Butler, 90, of East Newnan Road, Newnan, Ga., died Wednesday, November 7, 2001 at Fairburn Health Care.
Mr. Butler was born July 9, 1911 in Fulton County, Ga. He was retired from maintenance at Beavers Packing Company in Newnan. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in World War II. He was a member of East Newnan Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home Thursday, Nov. 8 from 7-9 p.m.
A funeral will be in McKoon Funeral Home chapel Friday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Frank Powers and the Rev. Lee Shelnutt will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
