Mrs. Lottie Goodroe Harris, 98, of East Newnan Road, Newnan, Ga., died Wednesday, November 7, 2001 at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital.
A homemaker, she was born January 7, 1903 in Coweta County. She had been a member of East Newnan Baptist Church since 1918.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Nov. 9, from 6-8 p.m.
A funeral will be at McKoon Funeral Home chapel Saturday, Nov. 10, beginning at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Frank Powers will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Roscoe Road.
Surviving are her sons, Jim Harris and Tom Harris, both of Newnan; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Estelle Ivey
Mrs. Estelle "Stella" Ivey, 90, of Newnan, Ga., died Tuesday evening, November 6, 2001 at her home.
Mrs. Ivey was born to William and Susan Royster in Ashland, Alabama, but spent most of her adult life in the Newnan area. Known as "Stella" to all of her friends, she will be remembered as a disciple for Christ, her constant Bible study, and on her knees praying and giving "Thanks" for God's many blessings. A devoted mother and grandmother, she enjoyed caring for her family and loved to make quilts and work in her garden. Mrs. Ivey was an active disciple and member of Rotherwood Congregational Methodist Church in Whitesburg, Ga.
Mrs. Ivey is preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Mr. James "Jim" William Ivey; five sons, James Robert Ivey, John William Ivey, James William Ivey Jr., Fred Austin Ivey and John Austin Ivey; and daughter, Mattie Ruth Sparks.
She is survived by a son, William Odelle Ivey of Newnan, Ga.; two daughters, Mildred Coursey of Luthersville, Ga., and Rosalee and Bruce Coalson of Newnan; brother, Mixon Royster of Opelika, Alabama; sister, Leyuna Miller of Valley, Alabama; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Robert "Bob" Carson, 82, of Newnan and formerly of Marietta, Ga., died Monday, November 5, 2001 at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Carson was born March 31, 1919 in Marietta, Ga. and worked as a machinist for National Can. A United States veteran, he served in the Marines.

Mr. James Edward Eason, 79, of Hogansville, Ga., died Monday, November 5, 2001, at his home.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Johnny Williamson and the Rev. Randall Hodge will officiate ane burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Mr. Eason was born July 6, 1922 in Carroll County, son of the late Michael and Alice Cheeves Eason. He was a member of the Hogansville Church of God and retired from Uniroyal, Inc. after 36 years of service.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Jerry Hogan of Hogansville; a son and daughter-in-law, James R. and Marilyn Eason of Suwanee; granddaughter, Amber Gilpatrick of Sugar Hill; great-grandson, Devin Gilpatrick; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Eason was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Wallace Eason, and by a daughter, Katherine Yates.

Mr. Gene Fox (AAR4SX, WB4UCC), age 61, of Newnan, died Monday, November 5, 2001 at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Fox was born August 15, 1940 in Texas. He was a retired facilities engineer for Delta AirLines. He was a United States veteran.

Mr. Rivington Hight
Mr. Rivington Fields Hight, Jr. died October 30, 2001 in Tokyo, Japan.
He was born in Newnan to the late Helen Tate Hight and the late Rivington Fields Hight, Sr. August 8, 1944. He did not meet his father until the age of 18 months, when Rivington, Sr. returned home from Europe after World War II.
He attended the Coweta County public school system, beginning with Maggie Brown School and eventually graduated from Newnan High School in 1962. He was voted "Wittiest" by his senior class. All of his life, he continued to make those around him smile and laugh with his wonderful sense of humor.
He entered the University of Georgia in the fall of 1962, and also attended West Georgia College. He earned his degree in Business from Georgia State University. Before entering the Army, he worked in Washington, D.C. for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in their fingerprint division, under J. Edgar Hoover.
While in the Army, he attended Japanese Language School in Monterey, California. While there, he met Miss Kiyomi Yamamoto. After completing his language training, he was transferred to Tokyo, where he and Miss Yamamoto were married in June of 1968. They were had 3 children; Mrs. Maria Hight Resnick of Durango, Colorado; Mr. Rivington F. Hight, III of Tokyo, Japan; and his youngest, Mr. Ian Geoffrey Hight of Roger Williams College in Bristol, Rhode Island.
After military service, he chose to live most of his life and career in Japan. He also worked in London, Paris, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sidney, Australia. He had a long and distinguished career, which included positions such as President of The Franklin Mint, Far East; Worlds of Wonder Corporation; Nintendo; Atari, and Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream.
At the time of his death, he was married to Anna Martynova of Khabaroush, Russia. They had no children. He is survived by his wife; one daughter; two sons; one sister, Rita Hight Deacon; one aunt, Sophie Hight Smith; nephew, David D. Deacon, III; three nieces, Kelley Gaddy, Carey Teeter, and Natalie Alexander; and also nieces and nephews in Japan.
Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 7-9 p.m., at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, Ga.
A funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. graveside at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan. Reverend Lee Ayers of Harvest Baptist Church in Newnan, will officiate. Friends and Colleagues at the American Club in Tokyo, Japan also held a memorial service.

Mr. Richard C. O'Mar, 94, of Delray Beach, Florida and a former resident of Grantville, died Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at his home.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at the First United Methodist Church of Grantville, with the Rev. Darris Baker officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Mr. O'Mar was born September 30, 1907 in Learned, Mississippi, son of the late Robert Coffman O'Mar and the late Ruth Cook O'Mar. A veteran of service in the U.S. Army, he was a retired manufacturer's representative and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Grantville.
Surviving are daughter, Patricia O'Mar Quinn of Plantation, Fla.; son, Michael O'Mar, of Denver, Colorado; three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
His wife, Janet Seegar O'Mar died January 10, 2001.

Mr. Lamar Cleo Traylor, 89, of Arnco, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Traylor was born May 10, 1912, in Heard County. He was a retired textile worker for Bibb Company. Mr. Traylor served in the U.S. Navy during World War Two, and was a member of Sylvan Lodge 429.
A funeral was held Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at McKoon Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Helms and Dr. C.A. Jernigan officiated, and burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers were Billy Burgess, Millard Floyd, Lewis Garner, Johnny Mooney, Phillip Spradlin and Tony Traylor.

Born Dec. 19, 1929 in Porterdale, Ga., Mr. Webb was retired from James River Corporation. He was a member of East Newnan Baptist Church, the Newnan Shrine Club and the Sylvan Lodge #429.

Mr. Bishop was born September 28, 1924 to the late Emmett Edward Bishop and Pearl Hope Bishop. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Jeanette Mullins Bishop. He was retired from the Georgia Highway Express.

Mrs. Joyce Ann Barber Haney died at home October 31, 2001 after a long illness.
She was born February 25, 1938 in New Albany, Mississippi. Mrs. Haney worked as a social worker for many years, in adoptions and in the protection of abused children. She had worked with Department of Family and Children's Services for the State of Georgia.
She is survived by her daughters Jacqueline Haney of Massachusetts and Dr. Joycelyn Renée Holland Loviska of Newnan; and by her beloved grandson Cameron. She is also survived by her parents, Frances Pierce of Greenville, AL and C. Radford Barber of New Albany, MS; by her sister Amelia Kay Ray of Florida; two nieces and two nephews, and by many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Herbert L. Haney and her brother Cameron Barber.
A memorial service will be held at the home on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. Mrs. Haney requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Newnan-Coweta Children's Shelter - Angel's House.

Mr. Henry was born July 5, 1926 in Roanoke, AL. He was a service contractor for the mobile home industry and a United States veteran, having served in the Navy in World War II.

Miss Jo Marie Houze
Miss Jo Marie Houze, 67, died at Newnan Hospital Thursday, November 1, 2001 after an extended illness.
Miss Houze was born in Gadsden, Alabama, but spent most of her life in Atlanta, Ga. before moving to Newnan in 1981. Miss Houze loved her family and life, dancing and singing all of the way through it. She enjoyed the simple things and will be remembered for her heart of gold and the kindness she extended to all those fortunate enough to be around her. She was an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post 57, in Newnan.
Her mother, Mrs. Lorene D. Chastain, precedes Miss Houze in death.
Surviving are her companion, Mr. Paul Pray of Newnan; two sisters, Miss Ann Cheek of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Mrs. Charlene and Steve Atkinson of Newnan; several nieces and nephews.

Ms. McDade was daughter of the late Callie (Johnson) McDade and Hillard McDade and was born in Montgomery County, Alabama, April 7, 1906. At an early age she joined the Bethel Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama.
Surviving are her sister, Louise Pendleton; three daughters, Tommie and Louise Leavell, Mark Clark, both of Sharpsburg, Ga., and Sadie Giles of Montgomery, Alabama; 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren; a host of othe relatives and friends.

Mr. Hugh Walter "Rut" Rush, 56, of Johnson Road, Senoia, Ga., died Monday, October 29, 2001 at his residence.
Mr. Rush was born Nov. 4, 1944 in Coweta County to Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rush. He married the late Bernice Whatley, and they had three children. Later he married Mildred Arnold. At an early age he joined Neriah Baptist Church, and later as an adult moved his membership to White Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a good Samaritan of the elderly and was very devoted to caring for his mother and his children.
A funeral will be Saturday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. in White Oak Grove Baptist Church, Senoia, Ga., with the Rev. Kenneth Bailey, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Maurice Stargell, Evangelist Lena Hill, Missionary Joyce Bridges, and Rev. Artis Lyons. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Cranston was born February 27, 1926 in Attalla, Alabama, daughter of the late General Marion Argo and the late Mamie Sims Argo. A resident of Hogansville since 1932, she retired in 1999 as assistant vice-president of The Citizens Bank of Hogansville after 53 years of service. She was a charter member and served two terms as president of the Hogansville Pilot Club and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hogansville. Mrs. Cranston was a member of the Georgia Bankers Association and received recognition by the association in 1996 as the only person to achieve 50 years of continuous service to a single institution.
Surviving are her husband, John Cranston Jr. of Hogansville; daughter, Luanne Cranston of LaGrange; sister, Mamie Louise Kennedy of Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Katherine Hill McNeil
Mrs. Katherine Hill McNeil of Newnan died October 30, 2001 at her home.
A native of Fulton County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Choice Andrew and Callie Hartsfield Hill. Following the death of her husband, Howard Augustus McNeil Jr. in 1958, Mrs. McNeil devoted her life to raising their four sons. A bookkeeper by profession, she retired from Kason Industries in Newnan. Always interested in her community and improving the quality of life for all citizens she was active in The Pilot Club of Newnan, having served as past president and Past Lieutenant Governor. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Newnan and its Veatch-Nixon Sunday School Class, the Methodist Women, the Senoir Choir and volunteered at the community food pantry and the Newnan-Coweta Public Library.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Steve McNeil and Mary of Tallahassee, Fla., Patrick McNeil and Mary of Burlington, KS, Andy McNeil and Barbara of Richland, WA., and John McNeil of Newnan; grandchildren, Ellen McNeil Klug, Bryn McNeil, Stephen McNeil Jr., Renee McNeil, William McNeil, Shelly Pattison, Brittain McNeil and Davis McNeil; and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Martha Hill Day of Alpharetta, Mr. and Mrs. James Harold Hill of Athens, TN, Mr. and Mrs. Foster "Skeet" Hill of Alpharetta. Her extended family includes Virginia McNeil, Guy Watts, Mr. and Mrs. Olan Smith, Rev. and Mrs. J. B. McNeil, Rev and Mrs. James H. McNeil and Col. and Mrs. Robert Caldwell and 33 nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be Friday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. at Newnan First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Parrish and Rev. Larry Patton officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
