Mollie McFarland
Mollie Eberhart McFarland, age 47 of Canton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at her residence. She was employed as a bookkeeper in the banking
business and was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Snellville. Survivors include her husband, Daniel McFarland of Canton; son, Adam
McFarland of Canton; daughters, Bethsadia Bryam of Woodstock and Mrya McFarland of Canton; step-daughter, Jessica Hardeman of Monroe; parents,
Noel and Nettie Eberhart of Stone Mountain; brothers, Nathan Eberhart of Cartersville and Royce Eberhart of Covington. One step-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with the Revs. Johnny McPherson, Grant Wade and Greg Weatherby officiating. Interment followed in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

James Henson
The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mr. James Hobert Henson, age 73 of Blue Ridge, Ga., who passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 in the Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Ga. He was born in Pickens County, Ga., son of the late Hobert and Grace Jones Henson. Mr. Henson was a retired U.S. Marshall, working with the U.S. Dept. of Justice. He was a member of the Kingtown Baptist Church and attended the Sugar Creek Baptist Church. He was a member and was serving as vice president of the North Georgia Cattleman©ˆs Association and served
on the Farm Service Agency committee. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Ruth J. Henson of the home; three sons, Stanley (and wife Clare) Henson of Athens, Ga., Greg (and wife Stephanie) Henson of Canton, Ga. and George Henson of Birmingham, Al.; brother, C.W. Henson of Morristown, Tn.; two grandchildren, Wyatt J. Henson and Hunter B. Henson. Many other relatives and friends also survive. The funeral service was conducted Sunday, Feb. 20 at 3 p.m. from the Sugar Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Jess Posey and Harold Weeks officiating. Music was by the church choir. The following gentlemen servedas pallbearers: William Hughes, Harold Patterson, Lowell Thomas, W.R. Berry, Kevin Thomas and John Henson. The following gentlemen served as an honorary escort: Gary and Randy Patterson, Robert and Randy Young and Jerry Harrison. Interment was in the Barnes Chapel Cemetery.

William Perkins
Mr. William D. (Bill) Perkins, age 72 of Powder Springs, Ga., passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 at Vitas at Haven House in Atlanta. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Jessica Perkins and W. Michael and Pat Perkins, all of Powder Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Jim McCarten, Knoxville, Tn.; brother and sister-in-law, John Payne, Jr. and Pat Perkins, Houston, Tx. Ten grandchildren also survive. The funeral service was held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21 from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial
Gardens in Jasper. Bishop David Wharton officiated.

Dallas Bledsoe
Dallas E. Bledsoe, age 67 of Nelson, Ga., passed away at Portsbridge
Hospice on Friday, Feb. 24, 2006.
Survivors include sisters, Mavis and Harvey Jennings and Annie and Deal
Austin, all of Canton, and Brucie and Joe Roberts of Atlanta; and special
friend, Willie Pye, Nelson.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. from Pilgrim
Baptist Church with the Revs. Wofford Bailey, John Brown and Leo Hampton
officiating. Burial was in Cool Springs Baptist Church in Tate. Huey Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.

Hazel Hamrick
Mrs. Hazel Allen Hamrick, age 83 of the Hinton Community, passed away
Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 at the Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta.
Survivors include her sons, Allen and Gary Hamrick, Sr.; daughters, Susan
Reeves and Janet Hamrick; and one sister, Marguerite Allen. Five
grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survives.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 28 from the Hinton United
Methodist Church with the Revs. Dave Robb and Joey Buice officiating.
Interment followed in the Hinton Cemetery. The family did accept flowers or
you may make donations to the Hinton United Methodist Church. Roper Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.

Opal Watson
Mrs. Opal B. Watson, age 79 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25,
2006 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Ga.
Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Blackwell and Vicky Thomason; and
sons, Thomas and Billy Bradford. Three grandchildren and one
great-grandchild also survives.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 from the Chapel
of Roper Funeral Home with interment following at Sunrise Memorial Gardens
in Jasper with the Rev. Roy Blackwell and Buck Parker officiating.

William Vetten
William C. Vetten departed this life on Feb. 22, 2006 after battling
cancer for eight months. Born in Oak Park, Il. on March 21, 1932, he was
married to his wife Edith for 54 years.
Bill was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Ellijay, Ga.
Along with their mother to grieve his loss are his children, Valerie and
Walter Puryear, Corky and Kathy Vetten and Vickie and Steve Shultz. “Big
Bill” was a special grandfather to Daniel and Melissa Puryear, Sarah
Puryear, Brandon and Dania, Scott and Tonya, Nick, Cory and Jamie Vetten,
and Jamie’s fiance Brian Lunsford, Erin and Tyler Shultz, and his precious
departed grandson, Trey Shultz. He was great-grandfather to Tylor and Hailey
Nicole Vetten; and also survived by Charlie and Jonathan Dickey and
children, Ashley and IA.
A memorial service was held at Hope Lutheran Church on Feb. 25. Memorials
may be made to Hope Lutheran Church Building Fund, 3291 Old Hwy. 5, South
Ellijay, Ga. 30540. Cremation Society of the South in charge of
arrangements.

Bill Trippe
Mr. Bill Trippe, age 87 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 at
Brian Nursing Center in Canton.
Survivors include his sisters, Mary Brooks, Jasper, and Nell Camp, Holly
Springs. Nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. from
Philadelphia Baptist Church with the Revs. Neal McKenzie and Harold Johnson
officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The following served
as pallbearers: Frank and Casey Camp, Joseph Warren, Samuel Brooks and Ned
and Tony Trippe. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. T.A. Eubanks
Mrs. T.A. Fowler Eubanks, age 93 of Jasper, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26,
2006 at Grandview Health Care Center.
She is survived by her sister, Pauline Smith, Allentown, Ga. Nieces,
nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 from the
Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Max Caylor officiating. Interment
will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper. The following will serve
as pallbearers: Tommy, Donnie, Revere and Tom Fowler, James Fendley and
Harrell Little. Honorary pallbearer is Donnie Carlan.

Carl Yarbrough
Mr. Carl Yarbrough, age 85 of Jasper, passed away Feb. 22, 2006 at
Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Yarbrough, Jasper; sons, Jimmy,
Johnny and Jeff Tilley, all of Jasper; daughters, Janie Freeman, Panama
City, Fl., Patricia, Sue and Pam Chumley and Melissa Yarbrough, all of
Jasper. Sixteen grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Friday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of
Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. LeRoy Kelley, Charles Horton and Grady
Cagle officiating. Interment was in Lake Forest Memorial Park with local
Chapter #47 DAV in charge of graveside services. Pallbearers were: Dale
Yarbrough, Randy and Dickie Conway, Michael and Jim Freeman and Wesley Cook.
Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy and Jeff Tilley.

Sue West
Mrs. Sue West, age 56 of Acworth, Ga., passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005
at Wellstar Community Hospice Tranquility in Austell.
Survivors include her husband, Benny West, Acworth; mother, Ethel
Willard, Jasper; sons and daughters-in-law, Tracy and Melissa West, Canton,
and Stacy and Michelle West, Woodstock; step-son, Mosey Lee West, Ball
Ground; daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Hank Burrell, Hoschton, Ga.;
brother, Don Gravley, Lawrenceville; sister, Darlene Seay, Waleska. Five
grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, brother- and sister-in-law
also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 from
Macedonia Memorial Park in Canton. Pallbearers will be: Stacy, Tracy, Dwayne
and Camden West, Brian Pruitt, David Gravley, Russell Teague and Harry
Schroeder. The family did accept flowers or donations to help with the
funeral expense. Cagle Funeral Home is in charge.

Jeff Padgett
Mr. Jeff Padgett, age 38 of Ranger, Ga., passed away Thursday, Feb. 24,
2005 at Mountainside Medical Center. He was a carpenter and of the Baptist
faith. Survivors include his daughter, Beth Padgett of Ranger; son, Jeffrey
Padgett of Ranger; mother, Louise Padgett of Canton; brothers, Floyd
Padgett of Woodstock, John Padgett of Snellville, Wayne Padgett of Cedartown
and Terry Padgett of Canton; sisters, Dianne Hood of Lawrenceville, Linda
Fowler, Sue Marchman, Deborah Brown and Jane Martin, all of Canton.
Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 from
Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clent Boling officiating. Interment
followed in the Cherokee Memorial Park. Sosebee Funeral Home was in charge of
the arrangements.

Nellie Cochran
Nellie Mae Cochran, age 90 of Cartersville, Ga., passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005.
Mrs. Cochran was born May 31, 1914 in Pickens County, daughter of
Henry and Ophelia Tillery Brendel. She was a homemaker and member of
Friendship Baptist Church in Ludville. Mrs. Cochran was preceded in death by her
parents; two infant sons; a brother, John Green Brendel; and sister,
Ruth Proctor.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie Arnold Lee Cochran of
Cartersville; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Henry and Latrica Cochran
of Cartersville; grandchildren, Lee and Julie Cochran, Clint Cochran and
Tifney Deputy; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Alex Cochran, Elijah and Adam
Deputy and Ruby Mays; brother and sister-in-law, William and Sue Brendel of
Jasper; sister-in-law, Edith Brendel of Blairsville. Nieces and nephews also
survive. The funeral service was held Wednesday, March 2 at 11 a.m. from
Friendship Baptist Church in Ludville with the Rev. Buddy Roper officiating.
Interment followed in the church cemetery. Owen Funeral Home was in
charge of the arrangements.

Dewey Hendrix
Mr. Dewey D. Hendrix, age 78 of Ranger, Ga., passed away Sunday,
Feb. 27, 2005 in Gordon Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Hendrix was born in Pickens County Jan. 28, 1927, son of the
late George W. and Menerva Prather Hendrix. He had lived most of his life in
Gordon County and was a member of Miracle Temple Church. He was
preceded in death by a brother, Manuel.
Survivors include his wife, Toy Mae Mullinax Hendrix, to whom he
was married to for 61 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Estelle and Edward
Rogers, Joyce and Joe Tillman and Lorene and Teddy German, all of
Ranger; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Oris Hendrix, Ronald Lee and Betty
Hendrix, Vernon and Ann Hendrix and Charles and Karen Hendrix, all of
Ranger, and Jimmy and Shena Hendrix of Ellijay. Seventeen
grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 2 at 3 p.m. from
Miracle Temple Church with the Revs. Herschel Pierce, Bobby Timms and
Gene Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with
Eddie Brannon in charge of the graveside service. Music will be arranged by
Sharon and Coleen Hendrix. Pallbearers will be: William and Reggie Hendrix,
Jeffery Stone, Randall and Ronnie Rogers and Jimmy Roach. Honorary pallbearers
will be: Steve Dunn, James Gravitt, Kim Angel, Dan Brown and Teddy German.
Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun is in charge of arrangements.

Thelma Carver
Mrs. Thelma Carver, age 89 of Talking Rock, Ga., passed away
Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005 at her residence.
Survivors include her sons, Charlie, James and Tommy Carver, all of
Talking Rock; daughters, Mary Lou Pettigrew and Essie Faye Godfrey,
both of Talking Rock; half-sister, Edith Hunt of North Carolina. Twelve
grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren
also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24 from
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Gene Childers, Buck Parker and
Hollis Crook officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Roger, Ronald and Chris Godfrey, Curtis Lovell, David Carver and
Daniel Goss. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Irene Dean
Mrs. Irene Dean, age 89 of Ball Ground, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28,
2006 at Specialty Care of Marietta. She was a member of Arbor Hill Baptist
Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Thermon and Kenneth Dean, both of Ball
Ground, Grady Dean of Jasper and James Dean of Canton; daughters, Louise
Atkins of Chamblee, Betty Ardron of Ball Ground, Mildred Rice of Marietta
and LaFaye Moore of Canton; brother, Herman Bannister of Woodstock. Fifteen
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 3 from Arbor Hill
Baptist Church with the Revs. Vernie Worley, Wallace Sutton, Steve Jones and
Calvin Ball officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Sosebee
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ethel Anderson
Mrs. Ethel Wood Anderson of Jasper, Ga. passed away Thursday, March 2,
2006 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. She was preceded in death
by her husband, James Wiley Anderson.
Survivors include her son, Mr. and Mrs. James Stephen Anderson, Atlanta;
daughters, Mr. and Mrs. George Baker of Jasper and Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Butterworth of Vinings, Ga.; brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Anderson,
Jasper; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Tate Wood of the Hinton Community, Jasper, and
Mrs. Nay Wood of Jasper; grandchildren, Ms. Kendall Butterworth, Vinings,
Mr. and Mrs. Greg Anderson and Mr. Doug Anderson, all of Atlanta; and one
great-grandchild, Master William James Anderson of Atlanta.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 5 from the Chapel of
Cagle Funeral Home in Jasper with Mr. Glen Sims officiating. Interment
followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper. The family did accept
flowers or donations may be made to Grandview Health Care Center.

Alice Wilson
Mrs. Alice Ruth Wilson, age 72 of Talking Rock, passed away Thursday,
March 2, 2006 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.
She is survived by her sons, Donnie Wilson, Cartersville, Michael Wilson,
Jasper, Ricky Wilson, Canton, and Timmy Wilson, Waleska; and daughters,
Sharon Weatherford of Gainesville and Karen Martin, Canton. Fifteen
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 5 from the Chapel
of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Marvin Ellis, Robert Jarvis and Walter
Ingram officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery
in Bartow County. The following served as pallbearers: Dustin, Mitchell,
Chris and Cody Wilson, Josh Weatherford and Daniel Martin. Honorary
pallbearers were Kenny and Scotty Reece.
