Randall Hughes, Sr.
Mr. Randall (Pope) Hughes, Sr., age 66 of Jasper, passed at his residence
Wednesday evening, March 8, 2006.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Hughes, Jasper; son and
daughter-in-law, Randy and DeAnna Hughes, Jasper; daughter, Sonya Clayton,
Jasper; brothers, Ray and Ernest Hughes, Jasper; Larry Hughes, Ball Ground,
and Carlton Hughes, Ellijay; sisters, Imogene Hughes, Nancy Craig and Louise
Beasley, all of Ellijay; and grandchildren, Cody Clayton, Alley and Cameron
Clayton. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Saturday, March 11 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel
of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerrold Young officiating.
Lavera Boring
Mrs. Lavera Boring, age 56 of Cartersville, Ga., passed away at her
residence early Wednesday morning, March 8, 2006.
Survivors include her husband, Billy (Bo) Boring, Cartersville; sons and
daughter-in-law, Chuck Holt and Darrin and Brian Holt, Cartersville, Mark
and Monica Holt, Calhoun, and Kenneth Holt, Fairmount; brother and
sister-in-law, Max and JoAnn Mulkey, Fairmount; sisters and brother-in-law,
Rita and Lamar Holland, Canton, Janice Mulkey, Dalton, and Renee Gravley,
Calhoun. Four grandchildren and one grandson also survives.
The funeral service was held Thursday, March 9 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel
of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Timms officiating. Interment
followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Ronald Mauldin, Gene Wilson, Fred
Boling, Jackie Hancock, David Holmes and Ronald Hedrick serving as
pallbearers. The family did accept floral offerings or memorials may be made
to Regency Hospice, 20B Foxchase, Cartersville, Ga. 30120.
Donald Cherry
Mr. Donald Jerome Cherry, age 52 of Dalton, passed away Sunday morning,
March 12, 2006 as the result of an automobile accident. He was preceded in
death by his father, Mr. James Cherry, Jr.; and mother, Mrs. Mary Louise
Jefferson Cherry. Mr. Cherry was employed at Wal-Mart.
Survivors include his loving companion, Ms. Cynthia R. Scarborough,
Dalton, Ga.; daughter, Ms. Tamara Cherry; step-mother, Mrs. Eloise H.
Cherry; sisters, Ms. Paulette C. Clark, Mrs. Clarissa (William) Pratt, Mrs.
Denise (Burt) Jackson, Mrs. Betty (Melvin) Jackson, Ms. Becky Cherry, Ms.
Linda Hampton and Ms. Ira Cherry; brothers, Misters William Hampton, James
(Lucille) III, Randy (Janice), Ricky, Minister Bruce (Christie) and Michael
Cherry. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
also survive.
The funeral service was held Friday, March 17 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel
of Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Windell Smith and other ministers
officiating. Interment followed in the United Memorial Gardens.
Thomas Boling
Thomas Willard Boling, born May 5, 1935 in Jasper, Ga., has left us to be
with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, March 17, 2006.
Tom retired from Bellsouth with 32 years of service. He was a devoted
member of the North Metro First Baptist Church which he helped build with
his own two hands, and sang in the choir.
Tom was preceded in death by his brother, James Boling; and sister,
Blondine Burrell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Emyleen; sons that he
adored, Danny and Eric; step-sons, Mark, Michael and Steve; the closest
thing to a daughter he will ever have, Angela, and her daughter Amber; and
the light of his eye, granddaughter Stacy. A wonderful host of other family
and friends also survive. Husband, Granddaddy, Mr. Tom and friend will be
deeply missed.
The funeral service was held Sunday, March 19 at 3 p.m. from Wages and
Sons Gwinnett Chapel with burial at Gwinnett Memorial Park, Lawrenceville.

Cheryl Fouts
Cheryl Anglia Fouts, age 46 of Alpharetta, Ga., passed away Thursday,
March 16, 2006 at Southern Regional Medical Center. She was born August 26,
1959 in Fulton County, the daughter of Earl Hubert and the late Mary
Angland Fouts.
Survivors include her father, Earl Hubert Fouts of Demorest, Ga.; sister,
Pamela Fouts of Savannah, Ga.; brothers, Keith Fouts of Jasper and Barry
Fouts of Alpharetta. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also
survive.
The funeral service was held Sunday at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Max
Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Mr. Brent Jones officiating.
Paul Worley
Mr. Paul Worley, age 61 of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2006
at Brian Center Nursing Care in Jeffersonville, Ga.
Survivors include his sisters, Jeanette Forest of Jasper and Bonnie
Stanton of Acworth. Nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 17 from the Chapel
of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Childers officiating. Interment
followed in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay.
Claudine Blackwell
Mrs. Claudine Blackwell, age 67 of the Yellow Creek Community, passed
away Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at her residence.
Survivors include her mother, Lillie Belle Shoemaker, Ball Ground; son
and daughter-in-law, Phil and Toni Blackwell, Yellow Creek; daughter and
son-in-law, Rita and Eddie Duckett, Mica Community; brother, J.W. Shoemaker,
Canton; sisters, Carolyn Beck, Marble Hill, Martha Pearson, Acworth, Betty
Ann Gibson, Ball Ground, and Linda Gibson, Jasper. Three grandchildren and
one step-grandson also survives.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17 from Yellow
Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Roy Blackwell, Ricky Dobson and Jeff
Wilkie officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The following
served as pallbearers: Gary “Boots”, David and Brad Pearson, Tony, Terry and
Gregg Gibson and Ricky Beck. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of the

Greg Smith
Mr. Greg Smith, age 27 of Canton, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006 at
Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton.
Survivors include his wife, Tisha Smith, Canton; parents, Tommy and Julie
Smith, Nelson; mother, Betty Nevels, Vicksburg, Ms.; grandmothers, Tressie
Smith, Jasper, and Mary Lee Newell, Vicksburg; sons, Jacob and Brandon
Smith, both of Jasper, and Dakota Smith, Canton; daughter, McKayla Smith,
Jasper; brother, Kevin Smith, Nelson; sisters, Jessica Carter, Marble Hill,
and Kimberly Smith, Rockmart, Ga.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 21 from the Chapel
of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Johnny Atkins and George Martin
officiating. Interment followed in Cherokee Memorial Park in Canton. The
following served as pallbearers: Harold Patterson, Shane and Mitchell
Grizzle, Doc and Barry Taylor, Terry Graveley and Barry Hite. The family did
accept flowers or donations may be made to help with the funeral expenses.
Rachal Busscher
Miss Rachal Busscher, age 16 of Talking Rock, Ga., passed Sunday morning,
March 19, 2006 as the result of an auto accident in Pickens County.
Surviving are the parents, Kim and Charlotte, Talking Rock; grandparents,
Gloria Melven, Gloria Busscher and Jerry and Joyce Wilson, all of Florida;
brothers, Jeff and Paul Busscher, Talking Rock; sister, Elizabeth Moats,
Jasper; and aunt, Kim Kuchta, St. Lucy, Fl. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and
friends also survive.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 23 at 2 p.m. from the
Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Rothermel officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Visitation will continue
on Wednesday until 10 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until prior to the
funeral service.
Patty Sue Elliott
Mrs. Patty Sue Elliott, age 43 of Chimney Way, Fairmount, Ga., passed
away Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Elliott of the home; father and
step-mother, Wayne and Helen Kincaid of Chatsworth; son, Justin Prince of
Jasper; daughter, Amanda Cantrell of Jasper; brothers, Gerald, Danny, Sam
and Kenneth Kincaid; step-sisters, Sharon Morgan and Peggy Lee;
step-brothers, Brett and Bart Jones; step-sons, Joe and Josh Prince and
Robbie and Calvin Elliott; and granddaughter, Payton Price. Several nieces
and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 24 from Ball Ground
Church of God with the Rev. Luke Wheeler officiating. Interment followed in
Lake Forest Memorial Park on Camp Road in Jasper. Pallbearers were: Henry
Cantrell, Jeff Elliott, Josh Kellogg, Tony Jones, Dusty Bone, T.D. Carroll,
Bug Pendley, Ed Morgan, Brett and Bart Jones, Tommy Matthews, Verlon and
Bradley Silvers, Tony Aaron, Alvin Moss and Josh Prince. Roper Funeral Home
was in charge of the arrangements.
Margie Crow
Margie Crow, age 85 of Jasper, passed away at Cherokee Northside
Hospital.
She was a native of Cherokee County and was retired as a nurse/caretaker
for the elderly. Ms. Crow was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in
Fuquay Varnia, N.C. and returned to Jasper in 1994. She enjoyed gospel
singing.
Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Stokes, Jasper, Annette
Turbyfill, Raleigh, N.C., Janie Carter, Rockmart, and Marsha McDowell,
Kennesaw; brother, Junior Holcomb, Jasper; and sister, Hazel Mosley, Jasper.
Seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
also survive.
The funeral service was held Saturday from Cool Springs Baptist Church in
Tate with the Revs. Jarvis Carter, Eddie Martin and Mamie Moss officiating.
Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home
in charge of arrangements.
Peggy Norton
Mrs. Peggy Elaine Norton, age 49 of Jasper, passed away Monday, March 20,
2006 at Emory University Hospital. She was a nurse at Canton Family Care and
a member of Ball Ground First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Norton, Jasper; sons, Chris Cloud,
Canton, and Jamie Norton, Jasper; daughter, Amanda Kirk, Waleska; step-son,
Brandon Norton, Marble Hill; parents, Evelyn and Jack Cochran, Canton;
brothers, Terry Cochran, Canton, and Tony Cochran, Waleska; and
grandchildren, Alex Wilson, Jasper, and Dylan Kirk, Waleska.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 23 from Sosebee
Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Alton Burrell and Greg Hamilton officiating.
Interment followed in Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery.
Lester Bryant
Mr. Lester Pinkney Bryant, age 80 of Marietta, passed away Thursday,
March 23, 2006. He was a native of Pickens County, an Army veteran of WW II
and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his sons, Dwight Bryant, Tate, and Terry Bryant,
Marietta; daughter, Bonnie Giddens, Flowery Branch, Ga.; and sister, Lela
Scott, Tate. Three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 4 p.m. from the
Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw with the Rev. J.T.
Hollingshed officiating. Burial followed in Pine Ridge Memorial Park
Cemetery with full military honors by Jasper DAV.
Rachal Busscher
Miss Rachal Busscher, age 16 of Talking Rock, Ga., passed Sunday morning,
March 19, 2006 as the result of an auto accident in Pickens County.
Surviving are the parents, Kim and Charlotte, Talking Rock; grandparents,
Gloria Melven, Gloria Busscher and Jerry and Joyce Wilson, all of Florida;

Herbert White
Mr. Herbert White, age 85 of Jasper, passed away Thursday, March 23,
2005.
Survivors include his children, William C. and Ollie White, Ball Ground,
Margaret and Pete Jones, Canton, John T. and Rebecca White, Melinda and Andy
Edwards and Cindy and Bill White, all of Jasper; brother and sister-in-law,
Don and Beth White, Tate; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Hugh Tatum,
Edna and Max Wood and Ann Ponder, all of Tate; sister-in-law, Mary Pugh,
Jacksonville Beach, Fl. Twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
also survive. Mr. White was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta P. White;
and his parents, Lewis and Pearl G. White.
The funeral service was held Sunday, March 26 at 2 p.m. from Cool Springs
Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Martin officiating. Interment followed in
the church cemetery with local Chapter #47 DAV in charge of military
graveside services. Pallbearers were: Jason, Dan, Chad and Paris White, Trip
Edwards and Jeremy Jones. The family did accept flowers or memorials may be
