Robert Lee Albrecht, age 43 of Jasper, passed July 11, 2007. He was a former Cherokee County resident and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Jessica Albrecht of the home; daughter, Josie Ellen Albrecht, Ball Ground; mother, Ruby Albrecht, Ball Ground, and brother, Wayne Albrecht, Jasper.
The funeral service was held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Sandidge officiating. Burial was in the Georgia National Cemetery.
Eloise Childers
Mrs. Eloise Childers, age 62 of Jasper, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2007. She was a homemaker and member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Ricky and Randy Childers, both of Jasper; daughters, Rhonda Scherer and Regina Cox, both of Talking Rock; sister, Judy Jordan, Jasper; and grandchildren, Cari Childers, Timothy and Stephen Cox and Ashton Childers.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15 from Bethesda Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Byess, Greg Long and Jimmy Chester officiating. Interment followed in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery. Sosebee Funeral Home of Canton was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. E.D. "Josh" Fitts
Mr. Edward D. "Josh" Fitts, age 85 of Jasper, passed away suddenly Friday, June 29, 2007 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Fitts, Jasper; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Annette Fitts and Ralph and Kim Fitts, all of Jasper; daughter, Jan Stephens, Jasper; sister, Frankie McAfee, Jasper; grandchildren, Jared Fitts, Josh Fitts, Brad Stephens and Cody Beneford-Fitts; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Fitts, Alyssa Duncan and Cole Stephens.
The funeral service was held Sunday, July 1 at 2 p.m. from the Long Swamp Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles O. Walker and Tim Logan officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jimmy Cochran, Eric Ledford, Brett (Bubba) Holcomb, Andy Kelley, Luke Copeland, Jeff Roland, Terry Gibson and Kirk Anderson. Elsbeth Mountien
Elsbeth Ellis Mountien died July 2, 2007 in Redmond Regional M.C. in Rome, Ga. She was 95 and a long-time resident of Jasper, Ga., having moved from Miami Beach, Fl. with her husband Miles in 1979.
Mrs. Mountien was born in Selma, Al. on May 1, 1912. Her parents were Elizabeth Floyd Blalock Ellis and Robert Laurie Ellis. She attended Hollins University in Lexington, Va. and graduated in 1933 with a degree in music. She spent many years in the field of laboratory research, working for various organizations including the U.S. Navy and the Miami Beach Health Department where she met her husband Miles, a member of the Miami Beach Forensics Department.
Mrs. Mountien's interests were music, doll collecting, sewing, reading and politics. She was a delightful person and will truly be missed.
Herbert Thacker, Sr.
Herbert Eulan Thacker, Sr., age 80 of Canton, passed July 13, 2007.
Mr. Thacker was a member of South Cherokee Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He retired from Lockheed-Martin and was a mason. Mr. Thacker served our country in WW II.
Survivors include his wife, Lelia Thacker, Canton; son, Herbert "Bo" Thacker, Jr., Bahamas; daughters, Janie Lynn Hunt and husband Daniel, Jasper, and Melinda Joyce Roper and husband Randy, Canton; sister, Grace Ray, Jasper. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with interment in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.
Kim Kelley
Kim Patrice Kelley, age 52 of Hickory Flat, died July 15, 2007. She was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County and of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight Kelley, Hickory Flat; sons, Kristofer "Kris" and Matt Kelley, both of Canton; parents, James and Ruth Sisson, Canton; and brother, David Sisson, Marietta. One grandson and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby McClure officiating. Burial followed in Macedonia Memorial Park in Canton.
James Bryan
James H. "Dick" Bryan, age 68 of Loganville, Ga., died July 10, 2006. He was survived by his mother, Edna Belle Bryan, at the time of his death and she went to be with her Heavenly Father three hours after his death.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Louise Bryan; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tom Dullen of Norcross; precious loving granddaughter, Brittaney M. Dullen of Norcross; mother-in-law, Ruby Dean Stanford of Cumming; sister, Mary Joyce "Widdie" and Hubert Sperin of Ball Ground, Ga; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen Williams of Norcross, Shirley and Dean Pugh and Nancy and Al Wooten, all of Cumming. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, an aunt and uncle and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
Mr. Bryan was a member of Long Swamp Baptist Church, Jasper, Ga. He was retired from Palmer's Auto Salvage as a buyer and was co-owner of D&B Roofers in Lawrenceville. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, July 12 at 2 pm from Wages Snellville Chapel with Rev. Harold Evans officiating. Interment was in Hill Haven Memorial Gardens in Monroe, Ga.
Edna Bryan
Mrs. Edna Belle Bryan, age 91 of Marble Hill, passed away July 10, 2006 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Joyce and Hubert Sperin, Ball Ground; brother and sister-in-law, Hubert and Ruth Satterfield, Marble Hill; sisters-in-law, Edna Satterfield, Calhoun, and Melo Satterfield, Marble Hill; and four grandchildren, Jeff, Johnny and Steve Sperin and Linda Dullen. Five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Her son, James (Dick) Bryan, passed away a few hours prior to the passing of Mrs. Bryan. He leaves behind his wife, Louise; a daughter, Linda; and a granddaughter, Brittany.
The funeral service was held Thursday, July 13 at 3 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Johnny Padgett and Harold Evans officiating. Interment was in Long Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Johnny, Steve, Skylar and Brenton Sperin, Eddie, James and Jason Satterfield, John Pendley, Kevin Stone and Wesley Weaver. George Bartlett
Mr. George Junior Bartlett, age 74 of Talking Rock, Ga., passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Emory Adventist Hospital in Smyrna, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Bartlett of the home; son and daughter-in-law, George D. and Kim Bartlett; daughters and son-in-law, Pam White and Paula and Danny Lambert; grandchildren, Heather, Lauren and Kylie Lambert, Joshua White, Kimberly and William Allen, Zachary White, Charles and Kendall Bartlett.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15 from Cool Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Eddie Martin officiating. Entombment followed in Lake Forest Memorial Park on Camp Road in Jasper. J.T. Crump
Mr. J.T. Crump, age 81 of Jasper, Ga., passed Thursday afternoon at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Crump, Jasper; special daughter, Monica Cody, Jasper; special granddaughter, Nicole McArthur, Jasper; sister-in-law, Jerrie Crump, Powder Springs. Eight nephews, 10 nieces, 11 great-nephews, 10 great-nieces and two great-great-nieces also survive.
The funeral service was held Saturday, July 15 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Wallace Parks officiating. Interment followed in Ball Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Terry Baker, Bobby Williams, Jimmy Crump, Rodney Gibson, Tommy King and Earl Towery serving as active pallbearers. A host of other Masonic brethren served as honorary pallbearers. Floral offerings were accepted or memorials may be made to Sunlight Baptist Church (Gilmer County). Guy Childers
Mr. Guy W. Childers, age 56 of Jasper (Hill City Community), passed at his residence early Friday evening, July 14, 2006.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Childers, Jasper (Hill City Community); sons and daughter-in-law, Jason and Dilene Childers and Joey Childers, all of the Hill City Community; brothers, Max Childers, Hill City Community, Ed Childers, Sylvester, Junior, Bobby and James Childers, all of Fairmount, Herman Childers, Calhoun, and Melvin Childers, Talking Rock; sisters, Linda Childers and Bonnie Pruitt, both of Jasper; and grandchildren, Emma, Harley and Billy Childers.
The funeral service was held Monday, July 17 at 2 p.m. from Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church (Gordon County) with the Revs. Glenn Sims and Wilburn Childers officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Corey, Chad and Tony Childers, Trevor Fite, Jackie Brannon and Dale Stone serving as active pallbearers. Randy Brannon served as honorary pallbearer. Keith Buckner
Mr. Keith Daniel Buckner, age 22 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2006. He was born on March 20, 1984 in Gilmer County. Mr. Buckner worked in the grading business and also served as a volunteer firefighter with Station 1 in Jasper.
Survivors include his father, Danny Buckner, Jasper; mother, Moneica Collins, White, Ga.; brother, Christopher Keith Buckner, Jasper; sister, Renee Katherine Collins, White; step-mother, Judy Buckner, Jasper; step-father, Randy Collins, White; grandparents, Ellene and Larry Watson, Blue Ridge, Ga., and Clifford and Janette Howard, Jasper. Several aunts and uncles also survive.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 19 at 2 p.m. from Ball Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Sutton officiating. Music will be by Irene Wofford and Lee Sutton. Interment will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Bernhardt Funeral Home of Ellijay.
Paul Funk
Mr. Paul Funk, age 61 of Alpharetta, Ga., formerly of Salem, Oh., passed away July 14, 2006 after a long illness.
Mr. Funk was a 1962 graduate of Salem High School and attended Youngstown State University. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served four years during Vietnam and was a manager of development in the steel manufacturing industry.
Survivors include his wife, Jayne Patterson Funk, Alpharetta; daughters and sons-in-law, Erin Kathleen and Jason Green of Haymarket, Va. and Erika Lynne and Frank McGowan of Cumming; and grandchildren, Devon Elizabeth, Courtney Madison and Grant Edward.

John F. Bauer
Commander John Frederick Bauer died peacefully in his sleep at his home on July 28, 2003 at the age of 88 in Jasper. He suffered no pain.
He is survived by his wife, Peggie Bauer; daughters, Barbara Jo Clark, Genoa, Il., and Peggie Ann Aurand, Jasper.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. The family asks in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Pickens County Animal Rescue or any humane society.
Adam Krebs
Adam Baxter Krebs, age 16 of Cumming, passed away Friday, July 25, 2003 in Mississippi following injuries received in an automobileaccident. Adam was a rising junior at South Forsyth High School where he was a member for both the South Forsyth High School football and soccer teams. He was a gifted student and an accomplished artist. He was a member of North Lanier Baptist Church.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Jim and Kim Krebs, Cumming; mother, Sherry Green, Jasper; sisters and brother, Kimberly Jean Krebs, Ashley Cunningham and Alex Krebs, all of Cumming; paternal grandparents, Elba Montalvo, Roswell, and Jose Krebs, Puerto Rico; maternal grandparents, Irma and James Green, Jasper. A large number of other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, July 30 at 11 a.m. from North Lanier Baptist Church. Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery. Ingram Funeral Home of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
Louise Toney
Mrs. Louise Hyde Toney, age 73 of Jasper, Ga., passed away at Cobb General Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Trena Vick of Lithia Springs, Ga.; and brother, James Hyde of Jasper. Three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, along with several cousins also survive.

Stanley Fountain
Stanley Odell Fountain, age 56 of Dawsonville, passed away July 24, 2006.
Mr. Fountain was the son of the late Eddie and Lounette Fountain. He was a Vietnam War Vet and received two Purple Hearts, Bronze Star, Silver Star and other service commendations. Mr. Fountain was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church and was employed by Coca Cola for 16 years and then five years with the Tommy Nobis Foundation.
Survivors include his daughters, Cindy DuPree, Calhoun, and Christy Pettway, Canton; grandchildren, Brandy and Kayla Kent, and Olivia and Deavin Pettway; brothers, Sanford Fountain, Ellijay, and Stacy Fountain, Nelson; sisters, Judy Coker, Canton, and Sharon Barton, Roswell; and companion of nine years, Karen Boling.
The funeral service was held Thursday, July 27 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with the Revs. Keith Cook, Moss Fountain and Van Morris officiating. Interment followed in the Georgia National Cemetery.
John Bryant
John Joseph Bryant, age 63, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at his home in Tallahassee. He worked for the Department of Health in disability claims.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 28 from the Riggins Road Chapel of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Tallahassee.
A Vietnam Army Veteran, he was a member of the American Legion and a former member of Lions Club.
Survivors include his daughters, Susan Newton (husband Jeff) of Temple Terrace and Mandi Bryant of Toledo, Oh.; aunt, Effie Norris of Jasper, Ga.; and seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Noah, Brianna, Conner, Alexa, Jaice and Johnathan; and several cousins.
Kathleen Stein
Kathleen M. Stein, age 83 of Lawrenceville, Ga., passed away July 24, 2006. She is preceded by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Stein.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary L. Willis of Acworth, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph H. and Trudy Stein of Buford, Ga.; brother, Irwin Arber of Buffalo, N.Y.; grandchildren, John, Paul and Michael Stein and Amy and Karen Willis; and great-grandchildren, Rachel, Jordan, Jack and Siler Stein and Ryan Willis.

Norma Simmons
Mrs. Norma Simmons, age 91 of Alpharetta, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2006 at the Cumming Nursing Center. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her step-son, Jimmy Simmons of Tennessee; brothers, Eugene Jones of Alpharetta and George Jones of Canton; sister, Edna James of Marble Hill; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 31 from Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. A.B. Hatfield officiating. Interment followed in Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery in Jasper.
Paralee Champion
Mrs. Paralee Champion, age 89 of Talking Rock, Ga. passed away on Monday, July 31, 2006 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. She was a retired nurses aide and member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, James "Buddy" Edmondson, Ball Ground, and Gary Champion, Talking Rock; brothers, J.L. Byess of Jasper, Donas Byess, Ball Ground, and Bill Byess, Canton; sisters, Salley Mae Duncan, Woodstock, and Genell Nix, Mableton. Six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren also survive.
