Pauline T. Toole, 86 of Monroe died December 12, 2005. A native of Richmond County, she was the daughter of the late Edward O. Templeton and Hattie Lee Trowbridge Templeton. The widow of Guy B. Toole, Sr. she was a retired homemaker and a member of the Augusta First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Dec. 14, at the grave side in Westover Memorial Park, Augusta. The Rev. Jake Malone officiated.

Richard Hansford
Richard Hansford, 77 of Bogart, and husband of Katherine Tucker Hansford, died Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at Athens Regional Medical Center. He was born in Madison county but lived most of his life in Oconee County. He was the son of the late Kurnel and Ada Lou Looney Hansford. He was a member of Ross Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, children: Willie J. Hansford, Richard Leonard Hansford, James Christopher Hansford, Thelma Mae Craft and Glenda Ruth Harbert; sister: Gertrude Chastain; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Will Henry Roberts, 74, of Monroe died Dec. 6, 2005. A native of Walton County, he was a son of the late Roy Lee Roberts and Willie Lee Aaron Roberts. Retired from the Monroe-Walton Mill, he was a veteran of the Korean War. Funeral services were held December 8, 2005 in the chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Malcom officiated and interment was in Hill Haven Memory Gardens.

Allen loved the Lord and enjoyed reading and studying His word. He strived to bring glory to Him daily. Allen was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He cherished family time. He loved watching his son perform with the George Walton Academy marching band and his daughter play the piano. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerome Cox.

Orene G. White, 90 of Loganville died December 20, 2005. A native of Walton County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Lant Guntrie, Sr. and Lucy Still Guthrie. The widow of Clarence E. White, she was a homemaker and was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Dec. 22 in Sharon Baptist Church. The Rev. Glenn Stephens and The Rev. Horace Parr officiated and interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Leonard Greene, Jeff Guthrie, Dennis Perry, Justin Starrett, Tony Greene and Gary Greene.

Jeanne Early Holden
Jeanne E. Holden, 74 of Monroe passed away quietly in the early morning hours Monday, December 19. 2005. A citizen of Monroe since 1974, Jeanne worked in the purchasing department of the Walton County Hospital, retiring in 1996 after 18 years of employment. Before suffering from declining health, Jeanne was an active member of the Ladies Golf Association of Monroe at the Monroe Golf & County Club. She had an accomplished history of painting in oils and watercolors, playing the piano and doing puzzles and word games. She loved Bingo, playing lottery and digging in the dirt.

Mrs. Mary Richardson Broach of Monroe, Georgia, 100, died on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005 at the Walton County Hospital. Mary or Nanny as she was affectionately called by her family and friends was born on Aug. 5, 1905 in Walton County where she was a descendent of several of the pioneering families of the County. Her parents were the late Lon L. Richardson and Nancy Malcom Richardson. Her grandparents were the late John W. Richardson and Elizabeth Shouse and George W. Malcom and Mary Jane Broach. She was one of ten children.

Paul Mercer Cousins, Jr. of Decatur, died peacefully in his sleep at home on Monday, December 12, 2005, from complications of multiple mycloma. The body was cremated. Paul was born in Rome, Ga. on December 23, 1931 to Marjorie Nowell Cousins and Paul Mercer Cousins. He was a graduate of the Darlington School and Emory University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Phi Beta Kappa.
