Mr. Virgil A. Robinson III, 83, of Newnan, Ga., died Monday, February 18, 2002.

A funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna with the Rev. Jack Pilger officiating. Burial will be in the Pace Family Cemetery in Vinings.

Mr. Robinson was a sales person until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Methodist.

Surviving are his son, Russell M. "Rusty" Robinson of Moreland; daughter, Brenda Robinson Powell of Dallas; three brothers, Paul Robinson of Lithia Springs, Norman Robinson of Vinings and Thomas Robinson of Marietta; two sisters, Zell Adams of Austell and Gayle Walls of Crossville, TN; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family was receiving friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Theodore Amey
Mr. Theodore Amey, 64, of Westside School Road, Newnan, died Saturday, February 16, 2002 at his residence.

Mr. Amey was born April 29,1937 in Meriwether County to the late Allie Lee and Cornelia Amey. He joined Clark Chapel United Methodist Church at an early age and later joined Mount Sinai Baptist Church. He merried Mary Rosser. One brother, William Amey, preceded him in death.

Mr. Amey made an impact on the lives of many people and will be remembered for his sense of humor and love for family and friends. He worked as a truck driver until his health failed. He was known for his good worth ethics and dedication to his trucking business.

A funeral will be Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 6 Lovelace St. in Newnan. The Rev. J. W. Gibbons, pastor, and eulogist Rev. Felton James will officiate, assisted by Rev. Jack Russell, Rev. Melvin Brittian, Evangelist Susie Hudson and Evangelist Pearl Moreland. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews. Flower bearers will be nieces.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Frances Amey; four daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Ricky (Elaine) Powell of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. LaJuan (Deborah) Ford of Sharpsburg, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Kirby (Shelia) Thompson of Augusta and Ursula Amey of Union City; two sons, Stanley Gerome Amey and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Eric (Amey) of Newnan; sisters, Deacon and Mrs. (Lissie) C. Mrs. Frances Cole Arnall, 96, died February 17, 2002 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan, Ga.

She had been a resident of Wesley Woods of Newnan for the past four years.

Mrs. Arnall, the daughter of Minerva Hunter and Edward Guy Cole, was born July 19, 1905 in Newnan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hamilton C. Arnall and a daughter, Mrs. Dollie Hunter Arnall Holland.

Mrs. Arnall graduated from Newnan High School and Randolph-Macon Women's College in Virginia where whe was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was a sustaining member of the Newnan Junior Service League. Mrs. Arnall was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church.

A funeral will be held at graveside in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19., with Dr. Joel Richardson officiating.

The family has asked that flowers be omitted and contributions be made to The Heritage School, 2093 N. Highway 29, Newnan, Ga. 30263.

Mrs. Nora Gamble Carroll, 75, of LaGrange and formerly of Hogansville, Ga., died Sunday, February 17, 2002 at Hospice LaGrange.

A funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Mrs. Carroll was born June 16, 1926 in Grantville, daughter of the late Bealus B. Gamble and the late Leona Ward Gamble. Before making her home in LaGrange in 1995, she lived in Hogansville most of her life and was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Hogansville. She was the wife of the late Joe Carroll and was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Eugene Carroll.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Charles Parker of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Kailin Parker of LaGrange, Paige Parker and Parrish Parker, both of Winter Park, Florida; sister-in-law, Irma Gamble of Hogansville; several nephews and cousins.

Flowers will be accepted, or contributions in memory of Mrs. Carroll may be made to Hospice LaGrange Charitable Trust.

Mr. Bobby L. Cochran, 67, of Newnan, died Monday, February 18, 2002 at Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Cochran was born June 8, 1934, in Newnan. He was a cabinet maker and a veteran of the United States armed forces.

The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home Tuesday, Feb. 19 from 6-8 p.m.

A funeral will be Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. at McKoon's chapel. The Rev. Searcy Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road.

Mr. Grace Leonard Denney, 88, of Hogansville, Ga., died Sunday, February 17, 2002, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.

A funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Wesley Boatman and the Rev. Mike Watson will officiate, and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Mrs. Denney was born Feb. 20, 1913 in Lee County, Alabama, daughter of the late Homer and Ida Mae Cupps Leonard. A resident of Hogansville for the past 70 years, she retired from the Dunson Division of West Point Pepperell Manufacturing Company and was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville. She was the wife of the late Delbert Denney.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanette Estes of Hogansville and Joann and Billy Wyche of Pavo; two brothers, Homer J. Leonard and Troy E. Leonard, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Lisa and Jerry Calhoun of Hogansville; four great-grandchildren, Clay Neill, Christy Calhoun, Lee Calhoun and Sammy Calhoun; one great-great-grandson, Tommy Neill.

Mrs. Axelma Mae Wortham Palmore, 59, died Thursday, February 14, 2002 at Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Ga.

A funeral will be Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Sellers-Smith R. W. S. Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mrs. Palmore was born to Mr. and Mrs. Charlie (Willie) Mae Wortham July 20, 1943. She married the late Mr. John Thomas Palmore.

Mr. Dan Bridges, 73, of Newnan, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at his home.

Mr. Bridges was born Nov. 6, 1928. A veteran of the Korean War, he worked at Tull Metals for 20 years before running Bridges Store in Welcome for 15 years.

A funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Newnan Presbyterian Church. Dr. Harry Barrow will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Brenda K. May, 49, of Senoia, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Newnan Hospital.

Mrs. May was born Aug. 17, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Joseph W. and Margaret Mann Moody. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Manchester. Burial will be in the Meriwether Memory Gardens.

The family will receive visitors Monday night, Feb. 18, from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hilda Elizabeth McClain, 72, of Newnan, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at her home, following a short illness.

Mrs. McClain was born in Coweta County in 1929 to the late Ernest and Margaret Harris. She spent all her life in the Newnan area taking care of her family, and was a devoted wife to her husband of over 35 years, the late James A. McClain.

A member of the Senoia Baptist Church, she loved flowers, reading books, and sewing. Her family will remember her as a loving mother and grandmother who spent lots of quality time with them.

A grave-side service will be held Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Senoia City Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Clark will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jody Lee, Bobby Holloway, Mark Seacrest, Tony Lee, Gerald Collins, and Phillip Norrell.

Mrs. Jessilee Sims Shaddix, 88, of Fairburn, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Fayette Community Hospital in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Shaddix was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Corinth, to the late Samuel Robert Sims and Jessie Kate Jackson Sims. She was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, and retired from the Fulton County School System, after teaching primarily the first grade for over 40 years. A former resident of College Park, she had lived in Fayette County for the past 20 years, and was a member of the Corinth United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. "Mike" Shaddix.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Marion Shivers and the Rev. Darris Baker will officiate, and burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18.

Survivors include her extended family: Pat, Richard, and Amanda Coleman of Fairburn; Leah, Chris, and Carson King of Tyrone; six nephews, and several cousins.

Mrs. Elizabeth Williamson Bell, 57, of 4191 Jeff Davis Road in Thomaston, Ga., died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002 at her home.

Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 18, at the chapel of Coggins Funeral Home in Thomaston, with Reverend Dean Hemphill officiating. Burial will be at Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends today between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bell was owner/manager of the Dixie Oil service station and the Dixie Wrecker Service.

Survivors include a daughter, Minnetta Woods of Thomaston; two sons, Geraldo Burkett and Kenneth Woods, both of Thomaston; three step-daughters, Sonia Bell and Sandy Bell, both of Chicago, and Sherry Dukes; a brother, Harold Williamson of Thomaston; three sisters, Ruby Cochran of Thomaston, June Payton of Newnan, and Frances Moody of Live Oak, Fl.; nine grandchildren; and a companion, Ernest Hamby of Thomaston.

Lamar Hollyfield, 86, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002 at Christian City Nursing Home in Union City.

Mr. Hollyfield was a former resident of Tommy Lee Cook Road in Newnan. He was a long-time member of Sardis Baptist Church where he was a teacher and a deacon.

He retired after 25 years with Sears.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Hollyfield; a daughter, Merrill Bennington; three grandchildren, Joey Gibson, Dana and Lisa Bennington; and a nephew, Cliff Hollyfield.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Sardis Baptist Church, with Reverend Tom Gullatt and Reverend Bob Helton officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Thomas Gerald Millar, 68, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002 at his residence.

Born in Ontario, Canada, Mr. Millar was employed by American Can as a tool and dye maker and he was an Army veteran.

Visitation will be today between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel Monday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m., with Reverend Tom Dougherty officiating.

Mr. John O. McDay Sr. died, Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002.

Mr. McDay Sr. was born Jan. 9, 1931 to the late Obie McDay and Fannie Brown.

He joined the Sassie Grove Baptist Church in Senoia. Later he joined the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Senoia.

Mrs. Eloise F. Hatcher, 82, of Highway 16 E., Senoia, died Thursday, February 14, 2002 at Newnan Hospital.

Mrs. Hatcher was born in Forsyth County on September 6, 1919 to the late Claude Flowler and the late Julie Wafford Fowler, wife of the late Jeff Hatcher. She is also preceded in death by two sons, Royston and Donald Hatcher, and a grandson, Shane Bunn.

She was retired from the Southern Mills and was a member of the Miracle Way Baptist Church.

A funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 W. McIntosh Rd., Griffin, Ga. Rev. Harry Parkerson will offiicate. Burial will be in Senoia City Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family Saturday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Thomas Gerald Millar, Sr., 68, of Lakeside Drive, Newnan, Ga. died Thursday, February 14, 2002 at his residence.

He was born August 2, 1933 , in Midland, Ontario, Canada. He was a longtime employee of American Can Company and served in the United States Army from 1954 - 1956.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Millar of Newnan; sons, Mike Millar of Newnan, Thomas Gerald Millar, Jr. of Palmetto, Ga., William Millar of Springfield, OH; daughters, Anne Henley of Newnan, Terri Nims of Jackson, Ga.; mother, Virginia Millar of Cheboygan, MI; sister, Sharon Hennessey of Royal Oak, MI; brother, Lawrence Millar of Mackinaw, MI; brother-in-law, Bert Woodcraft of Lake, MI; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his father Clarence William Millar.

Mr. Fred L. Wheelus, 73, of Hogansville, Ga., died Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at Hospice LaGrange.

A funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Max McCord will officiate, and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with Masonic graveside rites.

Mr. Wheelus was born April 10, 1928 in Meriwether County, son of the late Charlie and Maggie Morris Wheelus. An Army veteran, he had lived in Hogansville since 1946 and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He retired as a supervisor from Uniroyal Inc. after more than 40 years of service and was a member and past Master of the Hogansville Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alma Green Wheelus of Hogansville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan Wheelus Webb of Hogansville and Gayle and Norman Schuck of Acworth; six sisters, Mrs. Aldine Pierce of Sharpsburg, Mrs. Charlene Newman of St. Marks, Mrs. Kathryn Buice of Suwanee, Mrs. Jeanette Cato of Lone Oak, Mrs. Betty Hunter of Moreland and Mrs. Mae Foster of Lone Oak; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Nellie Pitts of Hogansville; two grandchildren, Lindsay Webb of Hogansville and Steven Schuck of Acworth.

Mrs. Sadie Evans Hall, 93, of Atlanta and formerly of Moreland, Ga. died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 at Budd Terrace in Atlanta.

She was a retired educator and member of the Methodist church. She taught school in Georgia and Alabama and worked with her husband in the family business in Birmingham, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Sylvester Hall and her parents Alvin and Julia Haynie Evans.

A funeral will be held at graveside in Southview Cemetery Thursday, Feb. 14 at 11 a.m. the Rev. Richard M. Huycke will officiate.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and requests that memorial contributions be made to Moreland United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her sisters, Helen Baggett of Newnan and Ollie Evans of Moreland.

Mr. Quick was born November 8, 1928 in Newnan. He worked as a press operator at William L Bonnell Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mrs. Jeane E. Byram of Union City died February 10, 2002.

Mrs. Byram is survived by her husband of 52 years, Mr. Russell C. Byram; daughter, Cynthia B. Lumpkin, Peachtree City; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Roberta Byram, Raleigh, N.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and John Hammock, Sharpsburg; grandchildren, Ashley Byram and Rachel Lumpkin.

A funeral will be Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. Ministers Wye Huxford and Billy Rowe will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.

Mrs. Ulrica Pettigrove Hoth
Mrs. Ulrica (Ricky) Pettigrove Hoth, 94, died Saturday, February 9, 2002 at Newnan Hospital.

She was born December 23, 1907 in New Orleans, LA, daughter of Lovdall R. Pettigrove and Katherine Almeda Frazer. She received degrees from New Orleans Normal School and Tulane University and taught school for several years in New Orleans.

After marrying Jacob Otto Hoth, M.D., they moved to Baton Rouge, LA, where she was an active member and past president of the East Baton Rouge Medical Auxiliary and several PTAs. After the death of her husband, she lived in Jacksonville, Florida for 20 years before moving to Newnan. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Newnan.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. James J. Hoth M.D. and his wife Patricia of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Mr. John F. Hoth Sr. and his wife Linda of Newnan, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. Diann H. Kothe and Her husband Karl of Rome, Ga., and Mrs. Nancy H. Aaron and her husband Tommy of Newnan, Ga.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 15 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church on Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge, LA, followed by a memorial service with the Rev. Schmeiding presiding. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, LA. Her friends residing in Newnan are invited to stop by Jones Funeral Home and sign her memorial book.

Mrs. Myrtice Kimble, 88, of Newnan, died Thursday, February 7, 2002 at Newnan Hospital.

Mrs. Kimble was born April 27, 1913 in Carroll County, Ga. She was a retired textile worker and a longtime member of Lovejoy Memorial United Methodist Church.

A funeral was held at graveside in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan Friday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. Rev. Bob Martin was officiating.

Surviving are son, Frank and Mary Jean Kimble of Newnan; sister, Ethel Smith of Moreland, Ga.; and grandchildren John Franklin Kimble III of Newnan, and Katherine and Jason Walker of Smyrna, Ga.

Mr. Thomas Eugene Nelms
Mr. Thomas Eugene Nelms, 58, of Wedowee, Ala., and formerly of Franklin, Ga., died February 5, 2002 after a brief illness.

A funeral was Feb. 8 in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Heard County with the Revs. W. D. Allison and Milton Hall officiating. Solos were performed by Rev. Allison and Mr. Mike Faust. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Dustin Shelnutt, Corey Shelnutt, Loren Brunner, Larry Nelms, Robert Junkin, Tommy Smith, Donald Alsobrook and Mike Harris.

Mr. Nelms was born Feb. 22, 1943 to the late James Jetson and Mildred Grace Toney Nelms in Heard County. He was a retired plant manager for Easco Aluminum Company in Burlington, N.C. He was an active member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wedowee, Ala. and the Wedowee Antique Auto Club. He enjoyed singing for the Lord and was a member of a gospel group.

Surviving are his wife, Paulette Wessinger Nelms of Wedowee; daughter, Sherry McBride of Forreston, Texas; three stepchildren, Ted Alford, Ty Alford and Corey Shelnutt, all of Franklin; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five step-grandchildren; three sisters, Vonceal Kiser and Cathy Pike of Franklin, and Ann Powell of LaGrange; two brothers, Jimmy Nelms of Burlington, N.C. and J. W. Nelms of Dalton, Ga.

Mr. Ervin Crafton Price Jr., 63, of Franklin, Ga., died Febraury 8, 2002 at his home after a sudden illness.

Mr. Price was born April 26, 1938, in Eastmanhill, Ga. fo the late Ervin Crafton Price Sr. and Susie Lois Morgan. He was self-employed as a carpenter and a protestant by faith.

Surviving are four daughters, Lanette Overton of Wadley, Ala., Penny Zabawa of Sharpsburg, Ga., Tammy Ford of Franklin and Deniene Hanney of Jonesboro, Ga.; son, Stephen Price of Franklin; 14 grandchildren; brother, James Price of Indian Springs, Ga.; sister, Jean Mote of Franklin; other relatives and friends.

Mr. William George Schumm
Mr. William George Schumm, 80, of Riverdale, Ga., died Saturday, February 9, 2002 of leukemia.

Mr. Schumm was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1921, but spent most of his life in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. A retired Machine Repairman from General Motors, he belonged to AA for more than 44 years and was a participating member of St. Mark Lutheran Church for more than 30 years. In 1983 he moved to Riverdale, Ga. where he was a moving force and member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church serving with the Lutheran Layman's League. In 2002, he moved tothe Georgian Place in Newnan, Ga. to spend the remainder of his life near his daughter.

Mr. Schumm was married to the late Mrs. Gladys Mae Schumm for 25 years.

Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Nora Maloy and Husband Mike of Newnan, Ga.; two step-sons, Mr. Mark Kallman and wife Treva of Catoosa, Oklahoma and Mr. Steve Kallman and wife Lilly of Parma, Ohio; step-daughter, Miss Deborah Kallman of Phoenix, Arizona; one grandchild; a special friend, Mr. Joseph Uhler.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, Febraury 17, 2002 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Riverdale, Ga. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Southeast Asian Ministries in care of Holy Cross Luthern Church in Riverdale.

Mrs. Gladys Rosa Newton Thomason, 89, formerly of Franklin, died February 4, 2002 at Lanier Nursing Home in Chambers County, Ala., after a brief illness.

A memorial service was held Feb. 6 in the chapel of Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Neil Awbrey officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Leesa Stutts Cothran. Burial was in the Franklin City Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomason was born March 27, 1912 in Lanett, Ala., to the late Giles Julius and Rosebud Crowder Newton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Otis Thomason.

Mrs. Thomason was a housewife and ran a small cafe in Franklin where she made many friends among the customers. She was a member of Willingham Baptist Church.

Surviving are daguthers, Marie Quinn of Franklin and Dorothy Stephens of Five Points, Ala.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and many friends and relatives.

Mr. Russell J. White, 48, of Riverdale, Ga., died February 6, 2002 at his residence.

A funeral will be Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at New Macedonia Baptist Church, 7263 Church Street, Riverdale, Ga. Remains will be placed in state at noon. The Rev. Gerry T. Anderson, pastor, will officiate.

Mr. White was born July 30, 1953 to Henry and LaMorn White.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Celia L. White; daughter, Michelle L. (Daniel) Thomas; sons, Justin J. White and Donte Knight; adopted sons, Michael Bracy, Dustin (Brandy) Amis; grandchildren, Jabari James Thomas, Donte L. (Felton) Knight, Nadasha Frazier and Destin Amis; mother, LaMorn Gates; father, Henry (Annies) White; brothers, Derrick White, Gregory White, Manuel White and Craig White; aunts, Marcelee Jackson, Ernestine Forrest-White; uncle, Harold White; grandmother, Ora Brown; very special friends, Earthseed Music Family and Bill Nunn; a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. James Edward (Hopper) Wilkins died Saturday, February 9, 2002 at his residence in Sharpsburg, Ga.

The family may be contacted at the home of his sister, Mrs. Nettie Florence, at 16 Second Ave., Newnan, Ga.

A funeral will be Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, Mt. Carmel Road, Gay, Ga. The Rev. E. A. Stephens Sr. will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Steve Parks, Rev. Amos Alexander, Rev. Larry Barner, Rev. Eugene A. Stephens Jr. and Pastor Brenda Clark. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews and others. Flower bearers will be nieces and others. The cortege will assemble on the day of the service at the above address at 12:30 p.m.

Mr. Wilkins was born October 2, 1944. He was the fifth child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oliver (Lue Dora) Wilkins, Sr. He joined the Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Gay, Ga., at an early age. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Mr. Ernest Lee Wilkins and Aaron (Donny) Wilkins.

Surviving are five children, Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Janice) Alexander of Senoia, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Curtis (Jackie) Lewis of Newnan, LaShan Tolbert of Newnan; son, Antonio Wilkins of Senoia, Ga.; sisters, Mrs. Nettie Florence, Mrs. Nazarene Hines, Mr. and Mrs. Boston (Barbara) Matthews and Ms. Betty Wilkins, all of Newnan, Ga.; three brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Marion (Mary Joyce) Wilkins, Mr. Oliver (Todd) Wilkins Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo (Jo Ann Wilkins); eleven grandchildren, Nicole, Jamal, Danielle Alexander Drew, Adrian, Zack Tolbert, Jacara, KeAndrea (Keke) Lewis, Brianica, Gary, Sanchez Woods; and a host of uncles and friends.

Mrs. Patricia Ann "Pat" Duncan, 69, of Newnan, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at Newnan Hospital.

Mrs. Duncan was born Dec. 8, 1932, in Jefferson County, Ala. She was a former secretary at Eckerd Drugs.

A grave-side service will be held Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Gary Parrish will officiate.

Surviving are her husband, Jimmy Duncan; children Chip Duncan and Joy Pryor, all of Newnan; brother Gene Owen of Grand Prairie, Texas; sister Fay Ozmore of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren Ben Duncan, Brock Duncan, and Drew Pryor; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lonnie L. Hyde, Jr.
Mr. Lonnie Leon Hyde, Jr., 69, of Newnan, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Hyde was born in 1932 in Clebourne County, Ala., to Lula Hyde and the late Lonnie Hyde, Sr. He moved to Newnan in 1947 and has since been known as Junior to his friends. He was the owner and operator of Hyde's Volkswagen repair.

Mr. Hyde loved people and could always lift someone when they were feeling down. An open and honest man who wasn't afraid to share his knowledge and experiences, he was always helping and teaching people whenever he could.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas Shannon will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Hyde; mother, Lula Blanche Hyde; sons, Dennis Hyde and his wife Gwen and Darryl Hyde; daughter Deborah Reynolds and her husband, Billy, all of Newnan; brothers, Vernon Hyde of Marietta and Douglas Hyde and his wife Kimberly of Acworth; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Mr. Hayward K. Freeman, 52, of Grantville, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Freeman was born Sept. 16, 1949 in Grantville to the late Frank and Virginia Freeman. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Freeman.

Mr. Freeman had a special love for his wife, his children, his relatives, and his neighbors. A great sense of humor and quick comeback were his trademarks. He will be dearly missed.

A homegoing service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the John Wesley United Methodist Church in Grantville. The Rev. Walter McMullen will officiate, assisted by the Rev. W.J. Johnson, the Rev. Joe Parks Geter, the Rev. Billy Joe Glanton, the Rev. Charles Campbell, and Paster Brenda Clark. Burial will be in the Grantville City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Strozier, Starks Ellis, Charles "Pete" Baldwin, Winston "Bubba" Rosser, Grady Porter, Larry Paige, Edward Cook, and Jessie Dukes. The United Methodist Women and Mrs. Emma Britt will serve as flower bearers .

The cortege will assemble at Mr. Freeman's residence at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Hines Freeman; brother Frank Freeman Jr. and his wife, Ann; sister, Brenda Freeman; children Andre, Kaneisha, Amanda, and Ashley Freeman; step-children Jonathan, Brittany, and Ivy Hines; five grandchildren; nieces Adrienne and Shelton Benjamin, Tiffany and Nicholas Herring, Marie Harley, and Candace Sims; nephews Erie Freeman and Traers Harley; four great-nephews, one great-niece; three sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.
