Mr.James Roland Jenkins, 61,
died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23. Graveside service will be at the Sardis cemetery with the Revs. Karen Zeigler and Bill King officiating.
Mr. Jenkins was a retired carpenter and member of Sardis Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Sybil Jenkins of Sardis; one daughter, Rolene Oliver and husband, Jack; a grandson, Taylor Oliver; a brother, Aubrey Jenkins of Hickory, N.C.; and several aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Grady Dixon, Chip Dixon, Hal Dixon, Arthur Long, James Gordy and Al Smith. Visitation will be 6-8 p. m. Wednesday Sept. 22, at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home of Millen. Memorial contributions may be made to Sardis Methodist Church.
Mr. Herbert L. Stewart, 91,
entered into rest Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 at his residence.
A visitation for Mr. Stewart was held at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home Monday evening Sept. 20, from 6-8p.m. A service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the chapel of Carter Funeral, Winder Ga., with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial followed the service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Winder. Mr. Stewart was a retired wholesale distributor with Thompson Wholesale in Winder. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winder. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro where he was a member of the Brinson-Colman Sunday School Class.
Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi E. Stewart; and his son, Fred Stewart. Mr. Stewart is survived by his daughter, Nancy Blanchard and husband, Hank, of Waynesboro; a daughter-in-law, Jane Stewart of Waynesboro; and six grandchildren, Rick Stewart of Waynesboro, Susan Boatwright of Watkinsville, Melinda Prescott of Waynesboro, Sharon Stewart of Watkinsville, Denise Meeks of Waynesboro and Henry Blanchard of Marietta. Mrs. Isabelle Chance Wren, 87,
entered into rest Monday Sept. 20, 2004 at the Burke Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at the Gough Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Dixon and Caroll Leopard officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Dhu Cemetery, Vidette. Mrs. Wren will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. to lie in state.
Mrs. Wren was a homemaker and a beloved mother. She lived most of her life in Vidette. She was a member of the Gough Baptist Church for over 60 years.
Mrs. Wren was preceded in death by her husband, Farris Lamar Wren, in 2000. She is survived by two daughters, Jerrie Dixon and husband, Wayne, of Waynesboro and Anita Hillis and husband, Ashley of Savannah; two sons, Farris L. “Buddy” Wren Jr. of Vidette and Phillip W. Wren of Waynesboro; two sisters, Doris Burroughs of Sardis and Jean Chance of Waynesboro; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Ashley Hillis, Frank Lynn, Steven Dixon, Jeremy Wren, Brad Dixon, Bill Workman, Scott Wren and Brian Wren. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Smith, Ray Parker, Richard McDaniel, Allen Hess, Willis Collier, Jr., Manton Horton, Jr. and Dr. Harvey Sanders.

Justin Tyler Callison,18, entered into rest Saturday, July 31, 2004
at the Medical College of Georgia. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at Waynesboro Church of God with Guy McLamb officiating. Interment followed at Burke Memorial Gardens. Justin was a senior at Burke County High School. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his father, Grady A. “Bubba” Callison (Nancy) of Martinez; his mother, Cindy Cates Royal of Waynesboro; three sisters, Jessica Callison Black (George), Nicole Callison and Katelyn Williams, all of Waynesboro; a stepsister, Jennifer Salemi of Waynesboro; grandmother, Linda Britto of Waynesboro; great-grandmother, Myra Sikes of Waynesboro; step-grandmother, Betty Lane of Girard; and step-great-grandmother, Emily Dixon of Girard.
Active pallbearers were Bobby Scott, Jeramy Havard, Tyler Cooper, Matt Marchman, Jeffery Connell and D.J. Thames. Honorary pallbearers were Josh Quick, Kylie Bell, Greg James Jr. and classmates of Lakeside and Burke County high schools.
Mrs. Mary Rountree Padgett, 81,
Passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2004 at the Brentwood Terrace Health Care in Waynesboro. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at Crossroads Baptist Church with the Revs. Dan Bowen and Mike Andrews officiating. Burial followed at the Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Hephzibah. Mrs. Padgett was a homemaker and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She served in her church for many years until she was no longer able. Mrs. Padgett was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ashley J. “Son” Padgett, and her daughter, Mary Joyce Wren.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Gulyban (Mark) of Martinez, Cornelia P. Reynolds of Keysville and Cindy Lathem (Larry) of Hephzibah; four sisters, Betty Neely, Lillian Shaw, Susie Joiner and Margaret Drake; two brothers, Lewis R. Rountree and Preston Rountree; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Billie S. Edenfield, 89,
entered into rest Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004 at Burke Medical Center. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marshall Singletary and Dr. David Carter officiating. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro. Mrs. Edenfield spent her entire life in Burke County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was very active in all phases of the church. She was co-owner of Edenfield Cleaners and was a pink lady at Burke Medical Center.
Mrs. Edenfield was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd D. Edenfield.
She is survived by a daughter, Alice Montgomery and husband Joe of Waynesboro; a son, Frank Allen and wife Sunni of Hephzibah; a sister, Annie Davis of Johnston, S.C.; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Christina R. Wright, 87,
entered into rest Monday, Oct. 25, 2004 at Burke Medical Center in Waynesboro.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at the Keysville Nursing Home Activity Room with the Rev. Jody Boulineau officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Wright was a retired merchandiser specializing in ladies dresses. She was Presbyterian and attended Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Gwinnett County before moving to the Waynesboro area 10 years ago. Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her son, John B. Roosevelt (Buddy) Lewis departed
his life on Oct. 29, 2004, at Brentwood Terrace Health Center.

Buddy Lewis, son of the late Lonzie Sr. and Nancy Lewis, was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Jefferson County. He was a retired farmer. He leaves to cherish his memories a lovely wife, Sarah Lewis of Midville; three daughters, Betty Coppett of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Mary (Tyrone) Heath of Waynesboro, Mildred Hill of Midville; five sons, Willie B. (Linda) Lewis of Midville, Roosevelt (Loree) Lewis and Edgar Lewis, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., James (Mona) Lewis of Cocoa, Fla. and Joel (Marilyn) Lewis of Dublin; one brother, Lonzie (Marion) Lewis Jr.; sisters-in-law, Emma (Cleveland) Parish and Julia Jackson, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; brothers-in-law, James (Emma) Jenkins of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Benjamin Jenkins of St. Petersburg, Fla.; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Lewis will be viewed at Bark Camp Baptist Church at noon. He will not be viewed after the eulogy.
Rosia M. Felix Ingram of Waynesboro

Mrs. Mary Perry Bragg, 83,
entered into rest Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004 at Jenkins County Hospital.
Graveside services were held 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Corinth Christian Church Cemetery in Girard with the Rev. Yonce Lively officiating. Mrs. Bragg was a homemaker and spent her entire life in Burke County. She was a member of Corinth Christian Church.
Mrs. Bragg was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Ellison and husbands Jesse Perry and Tom Bragg. She is survived by three daughters, Lois Waller and Inez Parkerson of Sardis and Linda (Robert) Hickman of Waynesboro; three sons, Jack (Peggy) Perry and Bill (Ann) Perry of Girard and Carl (Kathy) Perry of Waynesboro; a sister, Estelle Godbee of Girard; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Gerald Ray Collins Jr., 31,
died Wednesday Oct. 27, 2004 at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Sunday Oct. 31, at Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Nevil Smith officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Ray was a wonderful, loving father and husband and was loved by many. He had a special way about him that touched all those that knew him. He will be truly missed by all. Ray attended Burke County High School. He was a welder and a Baptist. Ray is survived by a daughter, Cera Lindsey Collins; a son, Brinson Minus Collins; his father, Gerald Ray Collins Sr. of Waynesboro; his mother, Cynthia B. Reyna and step-father Johnny Reyna of Lorenzo, Texas; a sister, Heather Collins-Battles of Perry; his brother, Jeff Blake Martin of Lorenzo, Texas; his former wife, April Collins; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers were Chad Collins, Scott Collins, B. B. Babb, Tim Flakes, Marvin Murphey and Danny Chambers.

Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, at the Waynesboro Church of God with the Revs. Wayne Dixon and Joey Grizzle officiating. Burial followed at Burke Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro. Albert was a retired salesman from Dixie Riverside Inc. and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert L. Petrea Sr. and Freddie Perry Petrea; and his brother, Charles Petrea. Survivors include the mother of his children, Catherine Petrea, two daughters, Lynn Petrea Taylor and Jennifer Petrea Marshall, two sons-in-law, Eddie J. Taylor and Charles Marshall, four grandchildren, Shannon Spivey, Preston Hawkins Taylor, Tre’ Marshall and Abbie Marshall, a special niece, Susan Petrea, and two brothers, David Petrea and Fred Petrea, all from Waynesboro; and two sisters, Betty Daher of St. Simon’s Island and Valerie Crews of Brunswick.
