Mrs. Jackie Coe Clay, 44, of Hogansville died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002 at Columbus Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Clay was born July 26, 1958 in Newton County, the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Fuller Coe and the late Willie James Coe. She lived in LaGrange before making her home in Hogansville four years ago.
Mrs. Clay was a member of Hogansville Church of God. She was employed as a seafood market manager at Winn Dixie Market Place on Hogansville Road in LaGrange.
The funeral service will be held today (Nov. 30) at 2 p.m. at Hogansville Church of God with the Rev. Randall Hodge and the Rev. Johnny Williamson officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Rock Baptist Church Cemetery at Woodbury.

Mrs. Lola Mae Paschal, 71, of Franklin died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Paschal was born Oct. 25, 1931 in Heard County, daughter of the late Zack and Mary Ellen Noles Skipper. She was a lifelong resident of Heard County.
She was the widow of Bluford C. Paschal.

Mrs. Harris was born March 17, 1914 in Carroll County, Ga. She was retired as an inspector for Pepsi Cola Bottlers.

Mr. Jeffery H. Lathum, 48, of Palmetto, Ga., died Nov. 24, 2002, following a long courageous battle with cancer.
After a tour of duty in the Air Force, Mr. Lathum served until his retirement after 20 years in the Air National Guard.

Mr. Pace was born Feb. 4, 1939 in Grantville, Ga. to the late Carrine and Willie Walter Pace Sr. He was raised and educated in Grantville and later went on to Clark Atlanta University where he was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and moved on to attend New York University where he was a pre-law student and went on to serve in the United States military where he received his honorable discharge. He married Christine Hardaway Oct. 21, 1958 and they has two sons. Two brothers preceded him in death, Walter and Willie Roy Pace; and a great granddaughter,Aaliyah Pace.
Surviving are his wife, Christine Pace; sons, Randell Melvin Pace, Richard Alan Pace (Doris); sister, Marion Hicks; seven grandchildren, Keisha, Khadija, Charmain, Christi Pace, Jennifer Peasley, Akousha Rosser, Shanice Mitchell; great-granddaughter, Deja Kendall, Tesha Beasley; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Ralph G. Rainwater, 80, of Moreland, Ga., died Monday, November 25, 2002.
He was retired from Sears Roebuck and Company. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1940 to 1945. He was a member of Moreland United Methodist Church.

Mr. Murray A. Reid, 86, of Luthersville, Ga., died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002 at Alvista Care Home in Greenville.

Mr. Reid was born May 17, 1916 in Meriwether County, son of the late Charles Otis Reid and the late Della Almond Reid. A lifelong resident of Meriwether County, he was an Army veteran of World War Two and was a civil service employee. He was a former Luthersville city councilman, was a member of the Luthersville Baptist Church, and was a former member of the Luthersville Lions Club.
Surviving are nieces, nephews and their spouses, Ruth and Andy Forbus of Augusta, Sam and Frances Thompson of Atlanta, Henry and Almeta Leverett of Quincy, Fla., C. H. Nash of Columbia, S.C., and Charlotte Lee of Luthersville; two step-daughters and their husbands, Gwen and Jim Hughes of Atlanta and Betty and Johnny McCoy of Gulf Shores, Ala.; three step-sons and their wives, Herbert Wilson of Columbus, Bill and Peggy Wilson of Dacula, and Donald and Josephine Wilson of Clarkville, Tenn.; 16 step-grandchildren; 29 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Fincher was born April 20, 1945 in Coweta County, Ga. He was a certified public accountant.

Mrs. Aline "Babe" Jenkins
Mrs. Aline "Babe" Jenkins, 77, of Charles Place, Newnan, Ga., died Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at Portsbridge Hospice.
Mrs. Jenkins came to Newnan in 1955 and was active over the years with the Newnan-Coweta Youth Association and often was on hand to present college scholarships at high school awards day events. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a Circle Leader at the church, a member of Newnan Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Newnan Junior Service League.
She joined Girl Scouting in 1955 and was a troop leader and four-term president. She helped charter the Newnan-Coweta Youth Association in 1966 and the Babe Jenkins Scholarship is given in her honor annually. The Road to Camp Welcome was named in her honor in 2000.

Mr. Arthur L. "Sol" Beadles, 82, died November 18, 2002 at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Beadles was born March 16, 1920 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Sol Beadles. He was a member of Summer Hill Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received an honorable discharge. He was employed at Southwire Company and D&L Company for many years.

Miss Cooper was born August 17, 1984. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and was a senior at Newnan High School and also attended Central Educational Center in the evening. She had been employed at the Wendy's restaurant at Thomas Crossroads.

Mr. Jimmy Young
Mr. James William "Jimmy" Young, 84, of Heritage West Court, Greenwood, South Carolina, died November 20, 2002 at his home.
He was the husband of Thelma Ashley Crawford Young.
Born in Greenwood County Feb. 9, 1918, he was a son of the late Robert Furman and Lucille Martin Young. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving as a staff sergeant in the European Theatre and the D-Day Invasion of Omaha Beach. He was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery.
Mr. Young retired from Holiday Inns, Inc. after 18 years service and was part-time associated with Blyth Funeral Home for 40 years.
He was a member of South Main Street Baptist Church, having served on the Counting Committee for more than 35 years. He was also a life member of Bascomb Masonic Lodge 363.
Mr. Young was twice married, first to the late Caroline Johnson Young and was also predeceased by a son, Dell Young.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a daughter, Jimmie Ann and husband, Mike Davis of Peachtree City, Ga.; two step-daughters, Nancy O'Dell of Ware Shoals and Rebecca Pritchard of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Inez Y. Davis of Hodges and a brother, Roy Furman Young of Aiken; a grandson, Michael and wife, Autumn Davis and a granddaughter, Gala and husband, Ernie Johnson; great-grandson, Braeden Davis; five step-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday from Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ryan Eklund, Rev. David W. Patterson and Rev. Dan Compton officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family is at the home on Heritage West Court and will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Joe Henry Hardaway
Mr. Joe Henry Hardaway, 61, of Charlie Fuller Road, Grantville, Ga., died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 at his home.
A funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Luthersville, Ga. The Rev. Lee Jimerson will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hardaway was born Dec. 12, 1940 in Meriwether County, Ga., to the late Mr. and Mrs. Buford and Annis Hardaway. Truly a man of great fortitude, spirit, and love, Joe Henry extended an abundance of kindheartedness to all. Possessing an inner strength and ability to touch those in need, he served as a source of peaceful inspiration.
He joined Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, where he served faithfully as the chairman of the Board of Deacons and other offices until his death. He attended Meriwether County Schools.
On March 28, 1964, he married Jannie Pearl Hardaway and they had three children, Audrey (Faye) Dwight and Tracy.
Well known by many, Mr. Hardaway was employed by Exposé as a crane operator until his disability forced him to retire. His parents; one sister, Lila Mae Brittian; and one brother, Glen Hardaway, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jannie Pearl Hardaway; three children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hill (Audrey Faye); Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Hardaway (Marguerite), and Tracy Hardaway; six grandchildren, Nakesha, Rashad, Cathea, and Dwight Hardaway Jr., Kaitlyn and Jalen Hill; two brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Jennie Lou) Hardaway, and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Lee (Mary) Colton; sister, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford (Mary Nell) Black; mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tom (Lizzie) Johnson; father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert (Katie) Jackson; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ella Hardaway, Ms. Doris Amos and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd (Ella) Hardaway; seven brothers-in-law, Thomas Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry (Alma Jean) Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Charlie Johnson, Hubert Jackson, Jerome Jackson, and Melvin Jackson; three aunts, Mrs. Opal Hardaway, Mrs. Imogene Blackmon, and Mrs. Arlena Colton; four god-children, "Pokey," Carlos, Natasha and Tishara; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
