Dr. Leon Jones, pastor officiating, and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Thomasville. Jones, Al Walden, Craig Walden and John Smith. Mr. Carter died May 21 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville. Born Jan. 5, 1954 in Newton, Baker County, Ga., he was a son of Mattie Carter and the late Neal Carter Sr. He attended Central High School and a member of Mercy Seat Christian Church. He lived in Thomasville for 49 years, a mechanic and was disabled. Survivors include his mother, Mattie P. Carter of Thomasville; a loving, caring and lifelong companion, Mary Jones-Swain of Thomasville; daughters, Lakesha Hanks, Yashica Jones both of Miami, Fla.; a son, William Carter Jr. of Cairo; brothers, Neal (Martha) Carter Jr. of Thomasville, Robert (Linda) Carter Sr. of Thomasville, Barnard (Athye) Carter Sr. of Thomasville, John Carter Sr. of Thomasville; five sisters, Bettye (Jerome) Jackson of Meigs, Ernestine (Ernest) Williams of Thomasville, Katie (Michael) Jenkins of Meigs, Annie (Joseph) Gooding, Deborah Carter, Millie Warren all of Thomasville; a god sister, Betty Washington of Thomasville; five grandchilden, DaiiQuan Hanks, Lavon Wiggins, Sharika Long, Erica Long and Essence Johnson all of Miami; aunts and uncles, Bennie Mae Hall and Mary Paul Carter both of Newton, Ernestine (Ezekiel) Potts, Katherlean Branch, Freddie Anderson and Lottye (James) Atkins all of Albany, Laura (Johnnie) Walker of Miami, Maxine Warthen of Opalocka, Fla., Learnest (Evelyn) Anderson of Montgomery, Ala. and Charles (Patricia) Anderson of Savannah; 28 nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends. He has also ben blessed with a few dedicated friends, the family of his lifelong partner, Cornelius Graham, Geraldine Fagen, Betty Raggs, Maggie Jones, McDvitt Jones, Marcus Jones, Johnny Jones, Allen Jones and Leroy Jones; a few close friends, Robert Thompson, Al Fann, L.D. Jones, Al Walden, Craig Walden, John Smith and Charles Graham; and grandmother, Bessie Anderson of Thomasville. Richard Harold Dugger

Services for Richard Harold Dugger of Boston are at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2003 at Boston Baptist Church where he was a member. The Rev. Tim Phillips will officiate and interment is in Roselawn Cemetery in Barwick. Active pallbearers are Tyrone Hopper, Fred Bass, Lavone Shiver, Mark Saunders, Joshua Herring and Maxey Little. Mr. Dugger died Thursday, May 22 at Archbold Memorial Hospital from injuries received from an automobile accident. He was born in Barwick on June 4, 1946. He was the son of the late Daniel and Louise Dugger. He will be missed by family and friends. His disability did not keep him from helping others because that's what he liked to do most. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Luke Keadle of Thomasville; a sister-in-law, Donna Wilson of Sesser, Ill.; nieces, Linda and Mark Yates of Sesser Ill.; Karla and H.L. Sherrod of Boston; Kathy and Jeff Lancaster of Thomasville; and a nephew, Michael and Diana Dugger of Sesser, Ill.; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Carl Dugger. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Bill Bailey

Services for Bill Bailey, 58, Adel, are at 4 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2003 at the chapel of Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home in Adel. The Rev. John Hendley and the Rev. Nelson Acosta will officiate and interment is in Lenox City Cemetery. Mr. Bailey died Friday, May 23 at his residence. Born Dec. 4, 1944 in Vero Beach, Fla., he was a son of William Adrian Bailey and Oma Jean Thorpe Bailey. He was married to Pearl Condrey Bailey of Adel. He was of the Baptist faith, a truck driver and served in the U.S. Army as paratrooper in Vietnam. He lived in Adel for the past 21 1/2 years. Survivors include his wife, Pearl Condrey Bailey of Adel; a daughter and son-in-law, Felicia and Paul Phelps of Thomasville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Elena Dillard of Norman Park, Ricky and Becky Dillard of Sparks, Alan and Sonya Dillard of Sparks, Randy and Dee Dee Dillard of Adel; parents, William Adrian and Jean Thorpe Bailey of Metcalfe; a sister, Sheila Marshall of Metcalfe; mother-in-law, Melvie Ash of Adel; special trucking buddy, Rambo; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Dopal Miller and Onzello Miller. Mrs. Passmore was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was married on March 2, 1919 to David Demnanuel who preceded her in death. Her parents, Anthony Sapp and Elizabeth Crosby, also preceded her in death. Survivors include son George Passmore Sr. and wife Seville of Thomasville. Mrs. Passmore had 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Born Aug. 21, 1940 in Beachton, she was a daughter of the late Robert C. and Annie Lou Walden. She was married to Robert Coleman Bass, a homemaker and a member of New Beulah Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Robert C. Bass of Thomasville; stepmother, Flossie Walden of Thomasville; daughters, Denise Bass, Karen Knolton, Sharon Fann, Janet and Herman Cason all of Thomasville; a son, the Rev. Randall Bass of Thomasville; daughters, Audrey Bass, Dorinda Waldrop both of Thomasville; a brother, Robert C. Walden of Thomasville; sisters, Emma Jean Ray, Elizabeth and Herman Davis all of Thomasville; brothers, Jimmy Walden of Thomasville, Morris and Tanya Walden of Jacksonville, Fla.; 26 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Bass will be on view from 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until the service with no viewing after the eulogy. Oliver Colvin

Services for Oliver Colvin, Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003 at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home Chapel with Father Thomas Murphy officiating. Interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Colvin died Tuesday, August 5 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born July 26, 1917 in Thomasville, he was a son of the late William Linton Colvin and Lovella Herring Colvin. He was married to Marian Guy Colvin, who survives. He lived most of his life in Thomasville, after retiring from CSX Railroad he loved to fish and garden sharing his crop with family, friends and strangers. Mr. Colvin was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Marian Guy Colvin of Thomasville; daughters, Judith Colvin-Hughes of Niceville, Fla., Elizabeth C. Floyd of Thomasville, Kathryn C. Priddy of Hahira; sons, George L. Colvin of Destin, Fla., John Oliver Colvin of Petersburg, Va.; a sister, Lovella C. Lindsey of Abbeville, Ala.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; six stepchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Elizabeth Colvin; two brothers, Hermond and Bill Colvin; three sisters, Edna C. Fisk, Lorene C. Stegall and Connie C. Paschal. Born June 8, 1954 in Thomasville, he was a son of Lillie Mae Clark and the late Syvanlia Clark. He was a 1974 graduate of Thomasville High School and was a custodian. Graveside services for Sallie Cox Dugger of Thomasville were at 11 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2003 at Boston Cemetery. The Rev. Leigh Ann Raynor officiated. Pallbearers included Paul Herring, Tyler Herring, Adrian Stowers and Allen Leonard. Mrs. Dugger was a member of Dawson Street Methodist Church. Born in Cordele on Jan. 10, 1910, she was the daughter of Edwin Fort Cox and Janie Nipper Cox, who preceded her in death. She worked at Thomasville Laundry and was a housemother at Vashti School. Mrs. Dugger was also a resident of Ruskin, Fla. for many years. Survivors include son, Earl W. Herring; sister, Lottie Hooks of Pelham; daughter-in-law, Lynn Ramsey Stowers of Thomasville; and daughter-in-law, Gayle Herring of Beverly Hills, Fla.; grandsons, Steven Eugene Herring of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Paul Brett Herring and wife Catherine of Wasilla, Alaska; and great-grandson, Neal Cooper; granddaughter, Lezlee Herring Leonard and husband Allen of Riverview, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Allison Goodyear, Amanda Leonard and Daniel Leonard; and great-great-granddaughter, Madison Shayne; grandson, Tyler Earl Herring and wife Jing of Dutch Harbor, Alaska; and great-granddaughter, Shelby Marie; granddaughter, Rhonda Laesser and husband Donald of Marion, Va.; and great-grandsons, Cody Abell and Trevor Laesser; and grandson, Adrian Ramsey Stowers of Savannah. Ronnie E. Horn

Funeral services for Ronnie E. Horn, of Boston, are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003 at the Boston Church of God. The Rev. James Lott and the Rev. Teddy Ray Hunt will officiate. Interment is in the Boston Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kyle Horn, Gary Weddle, Ricky Gipson, Steve Parrish, Kevin Dean, Cecil Jones and Jimmy Graham. Mr. Horn died on October 11 in Thomasville. Born on January 5, 1945 in Enterprise, Ala., he was the son of H. L. and Merle Walden Horn. On June 17, 1966 he married Sharon Weddle Horn, who survives. He was a manager for Merrily Plantation. Mr. Horn was a member for 30 years of the Boston Church of God and a volunteer fireman. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to many. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was also a carpenter by trade for the last 35 years. Other survivors include his mother, Merle Walden Horn; daughters and sons-in-law Jodie and John Wheeler of Boston, Leslie and Chris Waters of Ochlocknee, and Marly and Donny Jones of Japan; four grandchildren, Mitchell and Macie Wheeler, Cyndel Waters and Donny Jones; a brother and sister-in-law, John (Red) and Barbara Horn of Hartford, Ala.; two sisters Nina Sutton and Nancy Morton, both of Milton, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. His father, H. L. Horn; and a brother, Pitt L. Horn preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to the Church of God Orphanage, Boston Church of God, P.O.
