Mrs. Lois Mary LaFrenier, 80,
the beloved wife of the late Mr. Donald W. LaFrenier, entered into rest on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta with Pastor Jim Knight officiating.
Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
Mrs. LaFrenier loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was loved and cherished by her family and many others who adopted her as their own mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Les Peel of Waynesboro; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug LaFrenier and Elizabeth Ennis of New York City and Don LaFrenier and Cay LaFrenier of Decatur; six grandchildren, Kevin (Julie) Custer, Daniel (Mariah) Custer and Merrie, Beren, Andrew and Virginia LaFrenier; three great-grandsons, Tobiah Custer, Jackson Custer and Bodie Custer; and extended family members, Steve, Janice and Jennie Harden.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. LaFrenier’s grandsons along with Rob Peel and Bobby Peel.

Mr. Jimmy Rogers of Wrens entered into rest Monday, Dec. 27, 2004
at Medical College of Georgia. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Byron Twiggs officiating.
Mr. Rogers was a native and lifelong resident of Jefferson County. He was retired from J.M. Huber Corp., Wrens division and was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Rogers was an avid camper and a former member of the C.S.R.A. Camping Club.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn B. Rogers of Wrens; two sons, Keith Rogers of Wrens and Jeff (Shelby) Rogers of Augusta; his mother, Agnes I. Rogers of Wrens; one brother, Robert (Jane) Rogers of Waynesboro; one sister, Louise R. (Palmer) Hadden of Warrenton; and one grandson, Colby Rogers. Pallbearers will be Mark Rogers, Robbie Rogers, David Rogers, Richard Rogers, Richard Faulk, Brian Hadden, Charlie Rogers and Daniel Hance. Friends may call at the residence. Mr. Herbert W. Mobley

Mr. Herbert W. Mobley of Waynesboro, 84, entered into rest at Doctors Hospital on Tuesday, March 1, 2005.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2005 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Marshall Singletary officiating. Interment followed in Burke Memorial Gardens.
A long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, Mr. Mobley served as a member of the Administrative Board and on numerous other committees over the years. Until recently, he participated in church mission trips as well, traveling to Miami after Hurricane Andrew, and to Mexico. Mr. Mobley was a member of the American Legion Post 120 and a Shriner. He was on the Board of Directors for First National Bank, as well as supervisor of the Briar Creek Soil and Water Conservation District and the Central Savannah River Resource Conservation and Development Division. He was also a past member of the Farm Bureau and former member of the Edmund Burke Academy Board of Directors. A United States Army Veteran of WWII he participated in the Liberation of France as part of the D-Day Invasion. An avid sports fan, Mr. Mobley attended most Edmund Burke Academy football and basketball games and regularly made the trip to Athens for UGA games throughout his entire life.
After his service in the Army, Mr. Mobley returned to his native Burke County and worked until his retirement as a farmer. After retirement, he gained enormous pleasure from his tree farm.
Mr. Mobley is survived by his wife of 56 years, Burdelle Harrison Mobley, son, Bert Mobley of Highlands, NC, brother, Otis Mobley of Augusta as well as Numerous In-Laws, Nieces and Nephews.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Phil Harrison, Jim Mobley, Jimmy Fleming, Hal Whitley, Joe Mobley, Malcolm Mobley, Jr., Gabriel McNair and Doug Flanders. Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Brinson-Coleman Sunday School Class, Shriners, American Legion and the local coffee clubs.

Mrs. Evelyn Martin Mobley Flake of Waynesboro, 96, died Thursday, March 3, 2005.
Funeral Services were held Sunday March 6, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home, 842 Liberty Street, Waynesboro with Dr. Francis Ford officiating. Interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro.
A native of Burke County, she was a life long resident of the Greenscut community. Mrs. Flake was the daughter of the late Luther Martin and Emily Collins Martin. She was the widow of the late Owen Mobley and the late W. L. Flake. She was the oldest living member of the Greenscut United Methodist Church. Mrs. Flake was preceded in death by her daughter Emma Ruth Mobley Salemi; her sisters Beatrice Martin McNorrill of Waynesboro; Mae Martin Saxon of Greenscut; and Lorena Martin Usher of Greenscut. Survivors include one son and one daughter-in-law, Thomas Lovett Mobley and Kay Mobley of Thomson; a brother Jerry Miller Martin (Estelle) of Greenscut and a sister Elizabeth Martin McNorrill of Savannah, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jay Salemi, Mike Salemi, Chris Salemi, Ed Eaves, Jamie Henning and Steven Henning.

Lucious Atwell, 61, of Waynesboro died Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Augusta Hill Nursing Home.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announce the death of George James Fulghum age 85 of Midville, Ga., who passed away Jan. 30, 2009 in Macon, Ga., after an extended illness. Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 11a.m.
Mrs. Vera Irby Boren
Mrs. Vera Irby Boren, 84, of Waynesboro entered into rest Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at University Hospital.
Graveside services were held at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery, Avera, GA at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 21, with the Rev. Keith Alderman officiating. The family received friends on Thursday, April 20, from 7-9 p.m. at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Boren was born in Glascock County on Jan. 8, 1922 to the late Warthen and Dessie Mae Norris Irby and lived most of her life in Waynesboro.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, her pride and joy. She liked to work in her vegetable garden and also enjoyed cooking.
She was a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class and Rosemont Heights Baptist Church; affiliations included Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Perry Boren and two brothers, Ottis and Cecil Irby.
Mrs. Boren is survived by a daughter, Tiana Greiner-Kwolek (Joseph), of Waynesboro; two sons, Percy Boren Jr. (Diane) of Arley, Ala.; and Nelson Boren (Wendy) of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Gladys Irby of Gibson; a nephew, Reggie Irby (Priscilla) of Gibson; her grandchildren, Robin Wilbanks, John Edward Greiner Jr., Amanda Boren, Amy Frazier, Nelson Michael Boren Jr., and Katherine Boren; her greatgrandchildren, Hailey, Jonathan, and Samuel Bouchard; Ansley Greiner, Jessie Cobb, and Noah Frazier; and a host of cousins.
