She was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Cairo and retired from the cutting department of W.B. Roddenbery Co. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Mary Ann Andrews of Albany; grandchildren, Sherri and David Wheeler of Fredericksburg, Va.; great-grandchild, Corrie Wheeler of Fredericksburg; and brother, Lynwood Rosencrantz and wife, Myrtice of Cairo. She was preceded in death by a brother, Perry West; sisters, Josephine Miller, Ruth Brown, Laleah Walden, Ethelle Williams; and a great-grandson, Joshua Andrew Wheeler. Mr. Hall died Thursday, Feb. 24 at his residence. Born Nov. 6, 1919 in Colquitt County, he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Maybelle Smith Hall. On Nov. 2, 1944, he married Merline Cole who survives. He was retired from Petroleum Products and a member of Eastside Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Hilda and Bill Taylor of Thomasville; a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Judy Seagers of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Bruce Taylor, Oliver Seagers, Allen Seagers; brothers and sisters-in-law, John Rollen and Joyce Hall, Jack and Faye Hall both of Tifton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Perry was a homemaker and she was a member of the Isaban Baptist Church at Isaban, W.V., and served the Lord for 84 years. She joined Faith Temple in 1972 and later joined Bibleway Church of God in Christ in Vada. During her many years of service at Bibleway, she served as secretary, Sunday School teacher and served on the missionary board. Services for SFC Ralph James Washington, 96, 722 N. Broad St., Thomasville, are at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, U.S. Hwy. 319 North, Thomasville. The Rev. Andrew Anderson, pastor, and the Rev. Emory Hopkins officiating. Interment is in St. Paul Cemetery with full military honors. Active pallbearers are Funeral Honors Detail, U.S. Army, Fort Benning. Honorary pallbearers are deacons of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Washington died Feb. 21 at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Fla. He was born Oct. 25, 1908 in Thomasville to the late Rev. I.E. and Laura Washington. He was the fifth of 10 siblings. He was married to Mary Bryant who preceded him in death. He confessed his belief in Christ at an early age and joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Thomasville where he served faithly in Sunday School and held various offices until his health failed. He was a graduate of Thomas County School System. He served his country with unrelenting service for 21 years (1942-1963) in the United States Army, which include a tour of duty in Japan, Guam and Korea. After retiring from the Army, he owned and managed a barber shop and cafe for numerous years. His sense of humor, charm, unselfish support, love and gentle spirit will be missed by all. Survivors include his daughter, Doris Washington of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Ruby Smith of Thomasville; a grandson, Floyd Brown Washington (Mamie) of Atlanta; two great-granddaughters, Mia Brown and U’Tahsha Brown both of Atlanta; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephew, great-great-great nieces; great-great-great nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. A lifetime resident of Grady County, he served in the U.S. Army, member of Gordon Heights Baptist Church in Cairo and was retired.
